One of the lesser discussed BIG PICTURE stories being missed within the people’s revolt against totalitarian government under the guise of this pandemic, is the abject void of pragmatic conservative leadership in Australia, Canada and the United Kingdom.
As the working class Canadians rally behind their blue collar truck drivers, the invisibility of strong, opposing voices to the leftist government they are challenging is brutally obvious.

I generally try to stay out of the issue of questioning representative government in other nations; however, when you see the people of Canada crying for freedom, trying desperately to take back their individual liberty, there comes a time when all the free people of the world have no more tongue to bite.

What the hell kind of high school nonsense is this? A debate about tone, sensibilities, portrayals? If the goal was to miss the entire moment, skip the point, talk in circles as if the media was the audience, and put on a performance focused on the totally irrelevant; then, mission accomplished.
As a patient and frustrated pragmatist would say, (deep breath) … “When you’re done with all that, can you please address the central need of the voices assembled a few meters away shouting at you?” Good grief, and this guy is presumably ‘strong‘ compared to Conservative Leader Erin O’Toole.
There comes a time when you need to channel the raw frustration of your constituents – put them into articulate voice and focus – not pontificate about their delicate humanism in your arguments.
As an American, this last year has certainly clarified for me why the Yellow Vests in France, the Brexiteers in the U.K. and to a lesser extent the working class in Australia, all previously supported President Donald J. Trump.
In essence, Donald Trump was/is the one unapologetic voice for working class people just about everywhere.
It also does not go unnoticed how each of the aforementioned nations contain systems of government based on parliamentary constructs that essentially force politicians to compromise principles for nonsensical shades of pastel political coalition building.
This is the time in the history of government when the core, central and basic topic of FREEDOM is being eroded.
This is not a time for pastels. This is a time for bold contrasts.
The Western values of representative government either support the basic tenet that people should be free, or that government does not. There is no middle ground.
We cannot be partially adherent to tyranny when the systems of government are demanding obedience to forced medical procedures. At this moment of consequence, we are either free to reject medical treatment – or we are not free. There is no middle ground.
We are either free, as unique individuals to move around our own country without some arbitrary registration process, or we are not free. There is no middle ground.
The premise of “papers please” is either rejected, or it is accepted. There is no middle ground.
These are the core tenets that must be determined, argued, fought about, defended and decided. There is no room for quisling prose or the parsing of personage amid the discussion.
This is not a debate for the soft consideration about the tender sensibilities of small voices.
Hell, this is a debate that should never have been a debate, but here it is.

Instead we have affordable energy available to people of average means in the developed world. All of the comforts of the modern world in one way or the other depend on the petroleum industry. I am not saying the oil industry is entirely populated by saints and super hero’s but rather ordinary people with all of the strengths and weaknesses of ordinary people who managed to build an industry that transformed the world for the better.

I wrote a day or two ago that calling in troops to massacre protestors is historically quite possible for Leftists/Communists. And hoping for the police/army NOT to pull their triggers is hoping for a rarity: not impossible, but not likely.
Imagine water cannons right now in Ottawa to soak the crowds in below-freezing weather: such tactics would probably be considered a “polite” alternative to rubber bullets.

One of the Big Picture issues that almost everyone is missing is that if they can force you to take a vaccine(s), they can force you to follow any kind of medical decree that is decided by People at the Top. Imagine you can’t go to a gym or Target and purchase a protein drink or kombucha cordial or you must buy your probiotics only from a pharmacy with a prescription. Most people don’t realize the NIH already has decrees; they’re called Standards of Care. It means a doctor can’t practice medicine the way he feels is the best for his patients. He must follow certain rules and can only prescribe what is allowed. Vaccine mandates and passports are the slippery slope. What would follow…possibly/probably chips in the wrist so they can scan your health info at the hospital and doctor’s office. This would be sold as a safety measure, the best thing for public health, to protect others, protect children, etc. It would be mandated for the Armed Services, then government employees, and finally the population at large. Be aware and don’t let this happen. If someone had told you years ago that this Covid situation could happen and there would be vaccine mandates you wouldn’t have believed them.

I was speaking with a family member recently about something I saw with my on kids growing up and becoming worse with the new generation, the traits that are promoted by social media, schools, workplace, government, even within the family unit are, being sly, self promoting, always looking out for number one, its doesn’t matter if you lied and cheated your way into money/power, only that you got it, at the same time things like honor, standing by your word even if it cost you, fighting for someone or something else just because its right, no profit, high likelihood of failure, you do it just because it’s right are actually scorned and laughed at, people with those traits are now considered suckers.
A friend of my Dads was once having trouble with some guys in their home town, a time when trouble didn’t involve a gun, he asked my dad to stand with him, was probably going to be a fight, my Dad did, long story short other guys came with more, Dad’s friend ran off, my father stayed and got his *** kicked, once again different times so no big deal, same guys that beat him drove him home, small town if you didn’t live in one its hard to explain. The problem with getting Pierre Poilievre to accept the leader of the CPC is that he understands the CPC party is corrupt and rotten to the core. I think he knows to accept that position would be futile as he would have the same master at O’Toole and Scheer had to answer to. I don’t think you will see Poilievre accept that position. Many are calling on Maxime Bernier to step into the role but he has established his own party, PPC (Peoples Party Canada) after he lost the race to head the party to Andrew Scheer. Only as is the norm, there was cheating and Maxime Bernier, a seasoned politician lost. Yes! In their rulings, the SCOTUS also completely ignored the violation of our fundamental rights to liberty and to be secure “in our persons.”
In recent years, the Conservative Party made the decision to slowly abandon it’s conservative policies and principles, in the hope that doing so would make them more attractive to Liberal voters. They said they opposed a carbon tax, but then decided to come up with a carbon tax of their own. They said they would rescind the Order In Council that gave gov’t the ability to ban any firearm they didn’t like, but in mid-election O’Toole suddenly abandoned that position and threw gun owners under the bus.
In short, they gambled that they would gain more support from vote-rich southern Ontario than they would lose by betraying their base. Result- they lost the last election, against a weak and unpopular Trudeau.
Now, enough CPC MP’s have found their balls and demanded a leadership review. Too little and too late: as long as the party’s inner circle of senior advisors remains in place, they will continue to betray their base and their principles, if they think it will gain them enough votes to form gov’t.
As such, the Conservative Party of Canada cannot be trusted. It is rotten to the core, and even it’s die-hard supporters are saying they can no longer “hold their noses and vote CPC.
