The absence of food will change things….. Quickly.
The issues will fluctuate region by region and chain by chain as we enter the destabilization phase. In this phase the impacts in some operators will be small, and in others will be more noticeable. The difference will be the overall operational excellence in the proprietary business system they operate.
However, once the internal merit is exhausted, the manufacturing issues will impact all food retailers regardless of their warehouse and distribution excellence, or lack thereof. Ironically, small independent stores might be in the best position to withstand fresh supply pressure as they are closer to the field.
The further away the retail business operation is from the farmer, the greater the impact. The more people, systems and bureaucracy there are between the retailer and the farmer, the greater the operational impact. The longer the supply chain, the greater the impact. It is an unusual dynamic, but the local farmers’ markets are going to be the best source of consistent local supply. That reality is why the urban areas are going to be hit the hardest.
In this media report from Philadelphia, the local NBC affiliate blames the food supply issues exclusively on Omicron.
This claim is patently false [SEE HERE].
.
The final straw, to collapse the remaining supply, will likely be the cross-border truck driver vaccine mandate which kicks in on January 15th.
After that, things start to get sketchy.
democRats are Leninist Bolsheviks, rino Quisling Repubs are Crooks. Commies and Crooks now infest the Feral and most State Gubmints. Of course just go on a “Diet” until the 2022 sElections, I’m sure that will rectify everything, comrades.
Something is about to hit the fan and the sheeples are going to be wailing to no avail.
I’ve preached pre-pare for years, now the “pre” is almost gone. CYA.
Got a political problem that you caused? Blame it on The Omicron (AKA: the Common Cold)
Deflect and redirect is the SOP!
Reminds me of Alec Baldwin in the ending scene in Team America. “Uh, uh, global warming, uh, uh corporate America!” Then Kim Jong Il says “You are worthless Arec Barwin!” LOL!
Its used everywhere all the time. Schools, stores, state offices, every damn system I relied on is now at “ready to implode” point and what is there is just mailing it in. Because covid
It’s replaced “the Patriot Act” as the most over used excuse for poor performance.
Are the 2 million illegal aliens who came into the country last year shopping at grocery stores. Probably still better than where they came from. Is this the lower expectations we need to develop.
Are the Muslims being trained inside the US like the CIA illegally did to the MEK terrorists in Nevada a few years back?
Muslims have training camps, likely in the guise of social and youth summer camps, scattered about the US which are carefully guarded, from what I understand. They may have assistance from the CIA and FBI. Strange the media has no curiosity in investigating these camps. I can’t imagine why. Probably because its simply the concoction of conspiracy theorists.

About a couple of years ago or so there was a report about loud booms in the Poconos like explosives going off. The story just went away without any explanation.
In answer to your first question, absolutely yes. Can verify.
The goal may be to stir up riots followed by martial law. Next, the Feds will come, ‘save the day’ and hand out food.
You have to be on the list to get the handout. Voted for Trump, no soup for you.
No soup, no bread, no water.
Just shrivel up and die!
You’ll have to be on the vaccinated list – but Trump supporters won’t be on that list even if he promotes it.
Stirring up riots followed by a Presidential EO to save the day with nationwide food distribution.
Maybe enacting permanent national martial law and establishing a Federal Police Force to supplant dwindling numbers of local police?
Nah, that’s just silly.
‘Soylent Green is people!!!!!’
Someone, somewhere , as rhe recipe and is probably itchingto use it.
Most likely the response will be open season on all politicians and their families if Martial Law happens
Live near Philly. The City is to the Left of San Francisco. The media especially Philadelphia Inquirer might as well be Pravda.
I knew that and I’m at the other end of the state! Pittsburgh isn’t too far away from there.
I feel for you. You don’t have the tax avoidance advantages like other people on the eastern area of your state who live near a tax-free border state.
I don’t know. It’s not as liberal as its vote. Other than “true believers” which is a pretty small percentage of the registered Dems, most Philadelphians are pretty level headed. Trump won Pennsylvania, by a lot. And from what I can see Biden is alienating the rank and file Black voters in Philadelphia. The cheating this go round will be a lot riskier for the Dems. It will have to be handled completely by the party elites.
No election, no problem.
Interested in knowing why the blacks have turned against Biden. Apparently this is true in Georgia also; do you know what the reason is because here they are all Dems.
Vaccines ? Many blacks are conservative and like Trump. I follow several young, old, and middle age black social media accounts. They give me hope.
These plummeting approval ratings for Biden still show he has 75% approval among blacks. So don’t get your hopes up they will vote against Democrats.
Approval ratings and polls are worthless these days.
It’s the food and gas prices mostly. But also it’s clear to them that the guy doesn’t have all his marbles and somebody else is pulling the strings. Finally, the vaccine bullying from all the Dems isn’t going over well.
I am right over the border in Delaware. Tax free shopping is a big lure.
The Transportation Fairy appointment is as bad or worse than Bush’s appointment of hack “Christie” Whitman for EPA Head, who said that first responders to the 9/11 treason attack did not have to wear respirators, thus causing the additional sickness and deaths of thousands of people trying to rescue fellow Americans trapped in the false flag attack. Yet the MSM still enjoyed having this murderer interviewed because she hates PDJT & America. She does not have a shred of remorse and made sure she cannot be sued by victims and their families.
Ex-EPA boss Whitman offers first-ever apology for bad info on post-9/11 air quality: ‘People have died because I made a mistake’

“Transportation Fairy”
Bwahaha. You’re killing me!
If you have a bread machine you might want to order some
bread mixes in case flour get low. Also just ordered Powered
Lactose free skim milk//Probably wouldn;t drink it but

Has anyone tried this yet?
Haven’t tried but purchased them. Note diphenhydramine is also known as benadryl.
what is the OTC name for lactoferrin? Or is that the way it is named and packaged?
It’s sold as lactoferrin. I know someone who was using it for a supplement for Lyme treatment but not exactly for what purpose.
No one has found anything that works against TDS.
After doing the responsible prep work, the wife and I went out on a few last minute grocery trips this week that we called “panic shopping” in mild self-irony.
Evidently we were on the heels of many others who had the same idea. We got everything we wanted, but products were not faced (yeah, I had a retail job as a kid) and inventories were crazy low. Several times, I grabbed the last two or three of whatever it was.
I suspect this will pass quickly, but who knows.
It’s Wegmans night, so very curious what the situation is compared to pre-Christmas. Wegmans is a topnotch grocery store with tons of items and high prices. And a truly majestic beer aisle.
I have a brother who will NOT hear anything about preparing or shortages. At least not until beer deliveries are impacted.🙄
Wegman’s are often right off major highways. I know the Malvern & Downingtown, PA ones got hit hard with the 2020 lock-downs in PA. People got on the road and drove from Philly and King of Prussia and just started stopping at stores.
Out of the way smaller stores faired better.
Blaming Current Variant for the shortages is a microcosum of the narrative strategy since March 2020.
The disruptions to society are not the result of the pandemic. They are the result of the response to the pandemic. This cannot be admitted, so there is a market for creative explanations.
There is a Domino’s Pizza commercial currently airing which is a case in point. The premise is that Domino’s is donating millions of dollars to local restaurants “which have been hit hard by delivery app fees.”
The commercial points out that thousands of local restaurants have closed since March 2020.
Why would delivery apps, which are boon for restaurants , suddenly begin negatively impacting local restaurants… specifically in March 2020?
Obviously, delivery apps did not suddenly destroy restuarants in March 2020. What actually happened in March 2020 was this: NSDNC gauletiers began shutting those restuarants down for an extended period of time and let them reopen only under draconian mandates.
It is not the “delivery apps” which killed restuarants. It was the politicians’ dictates.
The current “overwhelmed hopsital” cycle is another example. Massachusetts lost 250 ICU beds because it fired medical staff who refused to become Pfizer pin-cushions. This is going on all over the country. Hospitals have hamstrung their ability to treat covid because of covid. Or, as a Masschusetts New-Speaker aptly put it, “there are pandemic-related staffing shortages caused by the pandemic.”
Covid did not reduced steal 250 ICU beds and hurl them into the Charles River. Politicians’ did.
There are other examples we could come up with. In the end they all demonstrate one thing:
It is not the pandemic which is killing the economy. It is the response to the pandemic killing the economy.
In order to Build Back, you have to have something to build.
If the government and the media had stayed out of it, we would have been done with covid a while ago. We would have herd immunity with no variants due to leaky ineffective vaccines.
Soon, it will be time to close the gate for a good long while.
Godspeed everyone.
I’ve been thinking the same thing.
And, if the power goes out — or they take the internet down ‘for our own safety’ — we may never talk with one another again on this hard rock.
Godspeed to you and your family, Born Free American Woman, and to Sundance and all our Treehouse family.
Okay, I dunno nuffin nor nuffin, but if people are dropping like flies in this “winter of death” then why are the store shelves empty? If everybody has died shouldn’t the food in the supermarkets be rotting ’cause there be nobody left to buy it?
I’m not dying in this “winter of death” but I sure am sick to my stomach.
I have the same questions about the homeless. If this covid is so deadly why are there any homeless still alive?
I am being told that there are many newly homeless due to refusing vax and “choosing” not to work. Also told that all over county homes have peoples entire household goods sitting on curb for bulk trash pick-up. Have seen in my own neighborhood as well.
Sundance confirms yet again the reason I quit watching TV network news forty years ago at the dawn of the Reagan Era. Quitting TV news is the beginning of knowledge.
Fifty five years ago, grade school teachers warned that TV news, even ‘documentaries’ were no substitute for reading books, periodicals and straight newspapers. Fifty years ago, as we graduated high school, teachers cautioned again about TV news, saying the carefully edited images and audio came at us so quickly they bypassed critical thinking and went straight to memory; the key to brainwashing. They said when one reads, one can pause, reflect on what one just read, and think about it in critical manner.
Ca. 1981, network talking heads whined constantly, ‘Reagan is a crazy, senile, dope who will start World War III with the Russians.’ On its face, a lie, and lies within lies as generally, crazy people are not dopes, and simpletons rarely go crazy.
Another of their favorite themes, “The Second Amendment only gives police and military the ability to carry guns on orders from their commanding officers, not citizens…” Another bald faced lie. Late night talking ghouls the ilk of Ted Koppel interviewed overly educated eccentrics who sermonized the audience that guns were like evil spirits which could make the mildest of Casper Milquetoasts slaughter their families. More hysterical nonsense.
Couldn’t help but wonder, if these high salary script readers would lie about these two most important issues, what wouldn’t they lie about? That was that. Off went TV network news, and about twenty years later, local TV news other than the weather.
They’re nothing but mindwashers, many of whom were raised in communist test tubes.
Went to the Costco just south of Wilmington Delaware. No shortages there I could see. Prices are up though.
Big box stores are faring well in DE. It is the grocery stores that are having issues. The grocery stores are where you find the older folks who don’t buy bulk.
Even if the Brandon team back down, Trudeau won’t.
I live in sales tax free state. It has its advantages. It has it disadvantages. With the food and other household items supply disruption, I am seeing more and more PA, MD and NJ cars in my local shopping centers. I am starting to worry that with the lure of sales tax-free shopping and so many trying to get what they can when they can that they will deplete the stores faster than they should have been. I don’t like people who voted for Gov. Wolf because of the “fair share taxes” motto he used to get elected when people who elected him shop here for everything. The irony of these types of people irks me.
I don’t think Wolf actually got the votes. He’s reviled here.
I think the votes in Philly are really suspect for any election.
PA does not tax most food groceries, even candy!
I’m also pretty sure NJ & MD also don’t tax groceries. The only thing I go to DE for are vodka & gasoline.
So people maybe coming there for something that isn’t taxed in DE, but picking up groceries is a side effect not the reason to go there.
I’m always shocked that some States get away with taxing food from the grocery store, it just seems so nasty.
Not sure if they are located everywhere, but give misfits market a try. I buy from thrive market and boxed.com too…
I’m guessing these food shortages will much less severe in blue states and very severe in red and purple states. The Left already controls blue states so no need to cause a social breakdown.
Their great re-set is going to be an epic backfire. People will not tolerate a bare larder and hungry kids for long. Unfortunately, this epic supply chain crash may be the wake up call some of the sheeple and woketards need to get their heads back into reality and away from the Covid fear-mongering and left-wing propaganda.
Well he said this would be the Winter Of Death, he just didn’t tell people they would starve to death instead of covid killing them..
1) Omicron Variant Of COVID-19 Has A Low Infection Fatality Rate!!!
https://pjmedia.com/news-and-politics/matt-margolis/2022/01/07/what-is-the-death-rate-of-omicron-its-way-less-than-you-think-n1547761
“The Daily Mail´s analysis, however, is supported by modeling done by researchers at Washington University, which suggests that omicron may kill between 97 and 99 percent fewer people than the delta variant.”
“Health officials in the United Kingdom estimated that the infection fatality rate of COVID before omicron was 0.25 percent, which is down from 1.5 percent before the availability of the vaccines.”
“If that´s the case, then the infection fatality rate of omicron could be as low as 0.0025 percent, or one in 40,000. However, the modeling from University Washington suggests that it´s closer to 0.07 percent, or roughly one in 1,430 – which, I will remind you, is less than the season flu.”
“The seasonal flu has been a part of our lives forever. But the seasonal flu didn´t compel us to wear masks in public or in schools, require vaccinations, or shut down businesses.”
2) History Of Deadly Pandemics In The Numbers!!!
https://www.visualcapitalist.com/history-of-pandemics-deadliest/
2.1) Black Death (Year Est.: 1300) vs COVID-19 (Year Est.: 12/28/2021): ~728.6 times more deadly than COVID-19.
Spanish Flu (Year Est.: 1919) vs COVID-19 (Year Est.: Ibid): ~35.7 times more deadly than COVID-19.
Smallpox (Year Est.: 1500) vs COVID-19 (Year Est.: Ibid): ~172.9 times more deadly than COVID-19.
2.2) My remark: Visual Capitalist list sources for the deadly historic pandemics, but the death toll for Spanish Flu is probably too low, as well as, the death toll for COVID-19 in US is too high, and the death toll for COVID-19 in China is too low. (Analyse is foremost for quantification of COVID-19.)
“While antibiotics are available to treat the Black Death, according to The World Health Organization, there are still 1,000 to 3,000 cases of plague every year.”
We’ve seen no food shortages of concern.
We eat very healthy, only organic, very little prepared/boxed type food.
Eggs, dairy, meat. Vegetables and fruit mostly in season.
All is reasonably well stocked on our end…
Very northern midwest.
Some price increases yes, but overall not unreasonable, though organic butter is up about 80 plus % from a year or so ago.
Perhaps these shortages being reported are isolated incidences, and then being exaggerated for whatever reason(s)..?
Some people, especially the wealthy, speculate by hedging potential inflation in their particular stock market and trading aquisitions; others, no less savvy but simpler and frugal, purchase necessary goods they see as essential in their near to mid term future as a more practical hedge when they forsee the likely approaching inflationary market dynamics. Its common sense.
Personally, I tried to discuss this more than a year ago, reasonably, with people I know but few caught on then. Perhaps I’m merely less than persuasive as i don’t wear make-up, nor a suit, nor a tie. I don’t even own a comb.
Living in a very cold, northern climate, many of us come from generations of farmers and gardeners canners and thus simply ensuring you have the means to make it through a tough winter, and then some, is just considered the responsible thing to do, especially when you have several kids to feed.
Many winters up this way with one hundred plus inches of snow.
People of this mindset are not out there now in January “panic” buying groceries. Their pantries are stocked.
If more people had this type of mindset, as a whole, our country would be less impacted by the potential disruptions in the “just in time” food distribution system and there would be more available on the shelves for the less fortunate and less responsible amongst us.
Yet this very mindset, curiously like many laudable attributes these days, is turned on its head, and looked down upon.
If massive food shortages happen as a result of the mismanagement of the JoeBama administration the corporate media propagandists will be blaming virtually everything except the administration. It’s because of covid, the truckers, the farmers, the fill in the blank. Mass confusion for mass psychosis. Just in case fill up your pantry.
Things are getting so bad many of us will not have enough money to pay our taxes this year.
The Obammunists have known all along that the American people will only accept the Great Reset of Gates, Schwab and Soros if they are starving. People scrounging for food will not notice the homies and the jihadis of the Great Replacement sneaking up on them with shivs and scimitars. Perhaps the new 2024 ticket of the party of satanism, socialism and sodomy will be Abrams and Nadler, as those two can survive a famine.
This is all caused by the regimes regulation of the transportation industries. Shutting down truckers in the name of pollution and global warming.
Let me guess, Premier Biden delivers free gubment cheese to his unwashed voters and saves the day. Good grief.
More lies from the media. How can something akin to the flu be causing shortages. Who can swallow this patent nonsense.
A lot of Americans are still glued to television and allow media far left morons to shape their worldview.
These are the dopes who wear masks driving alone.
Ridiculous. Mainly white women driving all around to find free range, low sodium, low fat, cruelty free, fair trade food that has to please their sensible platate. I was sick with omicron two weeks ago and asked for some chicken soup. After an hour my wife said the soup will be ready in two hours. WHAT?!? Oh, yeah, the chicken in simmering. JUST OPEN UP A CAN OF CHICKEN NOODLE SOUP AND WARM IT UP!
Have you noticed…..No more threats against America from those Cave men in the Middle East…even after we armed them with $80 Billion in Weapons that could be used against us. The New Enemy is the “Invisible Virus”….and they have tried to convince the world that you cant fight an “Invisible enemy”. Wake Up Please !
Now you know why so many guns have been sold in the last 13 years. Gonna be a turkey shoot.
Our healthcare system is about to experience a tsunami! Potential side effects of jabs include chronic inflammation, because the vaccine continuously stimulates the immune system to produce antibodies. Other concerns include the possible integration of plasmid DNA into the body’s host genome, resulting in mutations, problems with DNA replication, triggering of autoimmune responses, and activation of cancer-causing genes. Alternative COVID cures exist. Ivermectin is one of them. While Ivermectin is very effective curing COVID symptoms, it has also been shown to eliminate certain cancers. Do not get the poison jab.
Get your Ivermectin today while you still can! https://ivmpharmacy.com
Unemployment is at 3.4%, supposedly. How is it possible to blame empty shelves on something that would cause unemployment to be astronomical (raging covid)?
