Sheriff’s offices surrounding the metropolitan area of Chicago are stating they will not send their officers to cover the shortfall in city police officers as an outcome of the vaccine mandate. Keep in mind the elected county sheriff is the highest constitutional officer inside each region.
Chicago Mayor Lightfoot has released all the city officers who refused the vaccine mandate. Factually it makes no sense according to DuPage County Sheriff James Mendrick, who points out that his office does not have mandatory vaccines and as a result could only be providing assistance with officers who may or may not be vaccinated.
“It doesn’t make sense to say, ‘I only want my residents touching vaccinated people, but I’m going to send all these potentially unvaccinated people from other municipalities to replace them,’” Mendrick said.
CHICAGO – Two suburban sheriffs said they would not send their deputies to Chicago to help with potential staffing shortages amid a feud between the mayor and a police union surrounding vaccine mandates.
Kane County Sheriff Ron Hain (D) told the Chicago Tribune he did not “feel like the onus is on us to go in there in an emergency situation that was created by poor government and a lack of support the officers receive.”
Similarly, Kendall County Sheriff Dwight Baird (R) said he was not willing to put his officers at risk to respond to Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot’s (D) “self-induced emergency,” the Tribune reported. (read more)
Mayor Lightfoot claims that vaccinated people in Chicago cannot carry and/or transmit the COVID-19 virus. As a result, she feels the police have a public obligation to get vaccinated so they do not carry the virus in the community. The mayor has stated she does not want her community exposed to first-responders who may carry the virus, and the vaccination is the only way to eliminate that concern. The policy of the mayor is grounded in a claim that is totally and utterly refuted by all science. Vaccinated people carry, transmit and shed the SARS-CoV-2 virus just like non-vaccinated people. Actually, there is scientific evidence that vaccinated people who contract the virus (so called “breakthrough cases”) factually end up with a much higher viral load, and shed the virus at a much higher rate than non-vaccinated persons.
As a result, a genuine public health policy would be the exact opposite of what Lightfoot is claiming. If you wanted to keep exposure to the virus at a minimum for those in the public who encounter first-responders, it would actually be better policy to have first-responders be unvaccinated. The unvaccinated are less of a risk to the general population by a factual outcome of their carrying/shedding less virus.
In another policy maneuver to force the police to get vaccinated, “Chicago Police Superintendent David O. Brown said that those officers who do choose to retire rather than follow City Hall’s orders “may be denied retirement credentials.” (link) Chicago police officials made it clear on Thursday that officers who refused to comply with the city’s mandate risk being disciplined or fired.

Traveling 60 mph in the right lane was pulled over for having a CA license plate. Turned out to be a drug interdiction stop and spent the next 3 hours with three jurisdictions searching for drugs, illegal weapons and large amounts of cash. Despite multiple line of evidence showing who I am and him calling my prospect in MI. He would not relent. He lied saying a drug dog alerted to the presence of drugs. I don’t do, carry, or sell drugs, have illegal weapons and I refuse clients paying in cash.
What Ron and every Constitutional elected Sheriff won’t tell you is their overtime operations and new buildings are funded by civil asset forfeiture.
He may not go to Chicago but rest assured in Kane County he’ll enforce the Jab if it makes him coin.
In addition Ron is the Marketing manager for Desert Snow. A company that teaches drug interdiction as a way to increase revenue for LEO’s.

More importantly is Desert Snow used to have a private database in OK used by law enforcement to track every Drug interdiction stop regardless of outcome. When that database was subpoenaed it was move by Ron to Kern County Sheriff building, thereby not requiring to comply.

Sorry, Mike… while I can certainly empathize with your unfortunate but anecdotal story, it’s hard for me to slam the cops for enforcing a law that’s on the books. At least they’re trying to make an “honest” living. A lot of cops in Cook County, not so much! Seems to me like one of those situations where if the people don’t like the law, they should change it. Who slammed a cop? My point is Ron Haines is not a hero nor your friend. He holds a private database of vehicle searches and is the marketing manager for Desert Snow, a company that teaches law enforcement how to search vehicles for drugs, illegal drugs and fire arms.
I’ve had 5 drug interdiction stops in the last 4 years driving at or well below the speed limit all westbound. Ron is not interested in drugs or illegal firearms, that’s a plus if he finds those items. Ron wants the cash because whatever he finds gets to keep 80% of it. The last stop by a sheriff in NV. His parting comment after 3 LEO search my truck camper was…”we didn’t catch you this time”.
As for changing the law, hard to do when Police organizations lobby legislators to declare the area around your vehicle is public therefore a drug dog can search. Drug dogs fail rate is 64%.

Once your in a system (private database) you are marked. Recently I traveled to / from ID to GA four times to work with a new vendor for specialized coating sheet metal for a sticky food application. You cannot move 30k worth of sheet metal on a plane and being personally responsible for a clients material I will not ship via LTL truck.
I never spoke to the NV sheriff about my round robin trips but he knew I made them. The reason I believe was a Nebraska HP intercepted me logged my license, pulled in front of me and reduced his speed to 60 mph and failed to maintain lane while checking multiple databases. The speed limit was 80. He eventually pull off and I continued westbound only to be pulled over in NV.
After years in the military and corporate world, I rather drive than fly. It cost the same but driving allows me to meet with customers along my route. What LEO’s cannot compute is someone like me running a business the the way I do, so they run the checklist. Also multiple trips within a two week period in a non commercial truck raises a flag

I got pulled over on the Northbound 5 just south of Roseburg… doing the speed limit.
The cop was surprised when he looked into the cab of our brand new Honda Ridgeline BE and saw me, my wife and my adult son. Maybe he expected to see some drug lords from East LA or San Franciskovich.
Anyhow, he mumbled something about unsafe lane changes… when all three of us explained to him that we had seen him merge onto the freeway on the previous on ramp, that he was passing us on the left lane, that he suddenly slowed down and paced us for about a quarter of a mile and then we saw him pull behind us and turn on his lights.
All while Dad was doing 65 mph on cruise control.
Our fault? Driving with California Plates.
He didn’t even run my license through. Got off with a BS verbal warning to drive safely.
You were targeted for a DI stop. Northbound suggest you came from Humbolt Co. a major drug area.
The one phrase in every one of my stops was failure to maintain lane. It’s a non fine warning. The odds of that phrase used 5 times is not a fluke.
When we’re being stop to gain coin from civil asset forfeiture they move beyond serving the public and only serve themselves.

I’ve been stopped several times and all the officers I’ve encountered were nice to me. And I was nice to them.
I’m not a nice guy. LEO’s tell me I’m passive aggressive (they control the narrative). I let them know in a normal conversational tone, I know the game and play along. They know I know and still have to go through the checklist.
One ex cop in Florida told me he would pull over the drivers that went below the speed limit at night. This was an indication of DUI, and being overly cautious as to not draw attention.
I drive a truck camper with a commercial plate (not a commercial license) traveling between 60 and 65 (1800 -2000 rpm) because that gets me the best mpg. If you read about what DI officers look for is 5-10 mph below the limit claiming drug runners do this to avoid speeding, it becomes a tell. Also when you give consent to search and the LEO has a K9 dog they don’t use them. Reason…consent mean they don’t no longer need the dog. You would think they would use it to quickly find drugs, so the dog is a prop. Deny the search they place you behind their vehicle and trot the dog around to the front of yours returning to you claiming the dog alerted. Then your searched and detained in their vehicle which has microphones.
I usually tell them I know Ron Haines and Desert Snow /Black Asphalt and my last 5 stops have all been westbound (money) and only items in the vehicle is Motrin, tools, large line drawings, food and computer, folding knife, pistol in a locked box and cite the serial number and produce my ccw card. They search my wallet pulling my credit card numbers with company name. Multiple lines of evidence but if your pulled over they have to go through the check list.
In the end your inconvenience is their cash flow disguised as serving the community.
I’ve done both consent and no consent to search. If your clean the fastest way to continue the trip is consent. If you have time don’t consent, it makes them use resources and ties them up longer and you get to watch the show.
The police are not your friends. They are little authoritarians. Sounds like this cop is an crook. He will answer to God one day for his ways.

I recommend you look deeper into this issue. Honest law abiding people frequently have assets taken in these stops. They primarily target out of state drivers and confiscate all their cash under the argument that cash is only used for drug deals. It is too expensive to fight them over relatively small sums. We in Utah made this illegal and law enforcement circumvented the legislature by partnering with the feds and sharing the take.
The cops who taze you for not wearing masks? Who arrest you for singing in a church choir? Who will happily kick down your door and red flag (and likely kill you) on the words of another, without you having chance to respond?
Get a clue. Cops are not your friends.
Civil asset forfeiture is a blatant violation of the Fourth Amendment. If someone isn’t convicted of a crime then you have no right to seize their property that may have been used to perpetrate that crime. Too many boss hogs running around with pilfered property.
I really don’t understand the knee jerk cop worship that so many conservatives display. It’s not just naive, it’s dangerous. Throughout the so called free world police state tactics are becoming ubiquitous. That can’t happen unless the police make it happen.
As for DI (drug interdiction) stops. One will stop you and while running you for warrants the call will go out and at least two or three will arrive.
One will be no more than three feet with every move you make. The other two will inspect. Your shadow will strike up conversation all to watch your comments and movements. They have it down to tactical in their actions. Being former military it’s a real eye opener.

It’s a blind appeal to authority, which is a logical fallacy. It’s also a contrarian effect. Cops arrest bad guys so they must be good and if I don’t support police then I support criminals. Criticizing law enforcement doesn’t mean I also support criminality.
I wouldn’t have agreed before the Covid lockdowns in London. Hardly ever see a copper walking on patrol but suddenly they were on buses, at tube stations and harassing people sitting socially distanced in the local park in the sunshine. They were bullies with a uniform and I have no respect now. It pains me to say this branch of the State is corrupted from the top to the bottom in England.
A few years ago, in Genesee County, Mich. it was reported a county detective entered a man’s home without his permission and without a warrant, took $20,000 in cash and then seized his new pickup truck, and apparently gave some of the money to someone else, apparently a snitch. A deputy didn’t like what was going on and blew the whistle on it, and then got into trouble for talking.

Police in New York had to rescue 3 public safety traffic officers when they got beaten up by a driver they pulled over.

I’m not one to go around calling people stupid because the only time I think they are stupid is when I think they are seriously mentally impaired. Spot lights downward… perhaps the OB center was hit again? Could have been a watch on the Eisenhower inbound. Most of the sky traffic was going eastbound… so the perps must have been from the city again. Ugh. Just saying.. it was really creepy. Thinking this is about to get really bad.

Every retirement plan including state and local government plans MUST be IRS Qualified and that requires a clause against alienation of vested benefits. There is no way that Mayor Beetlejuice can deny retirement to any officers who meet the plan requirements! Beetlejuice is an idiot!

I am a retired Deputy Sheriff from California. I am immensely proud of those sheriff’s departments that are taking a stand against the totalitarian policies put in place by mini despot politicians. I would like to think that many of those I worked with would not support these illegal edicts and mandates. Most would not. But make no mikstake, there are those who will bend over backwards to do the bidding of their superiors, even if illegal, just to ingratiate themsleves to the “brass”. There were always many others who believed in, and were faithful to, the oath they took and not the internal politics. I believe this current generation of local law enforcement officers still have the dedication to uphold that oath.
Im thinking that beatlejuice will have to declare martial law in the near future, and bring in the NG.
