Florida Governor Ron DeSantis used recent examples of Chinese Communist Party (CCP) influence to introduce legislation he is signing today that will “protect Florida’s higher education institutions and government from foreign influence and combat corporate espionage, keeping Florida’s intellectual property safe within the state’s boundaries.” There are two bills being signed in coordination with the overall effort: HB 7017 and HB 1523
The announcement video below gives an excellent look into the position of DeSantis as it pertains to China, the Wuhan Virus, and the manipulative influence of the Chinese Communist Party. If you have ten minutes, his remarks below are well worth watching.

- Creates new criminal offenses in Florida for the theft and trafficking of trade secrets.
- Anyone who willfully and without authorization steals or attempts to steal a trade secret and use it for their own benefit will now face a third-degree felony, punishable by up to 5 years in prison. Individuals attempting to sell stolen trade secrets will face a second-degree felony, punishable by up to 15 years in prison
- If an individual or entity violates this law on behalf of a foreign government, the penalties are severely enhanced — reclassifying the felony one degree higher and increasing the offense severity ranking.

- Strengthens foreign financial connection vetting and disclosure requirements for entities seeking tax-payer funded grants or contracts from state agencies or political subdivisions.
- Creates heightened scrutiny of research grant applicants, foreign applicants for research positions, and foreign travel or activities of employees of major research institutions.
- Requires universities and colleges to disclose foreign donations and grants of $50,000 or more to the State University System Board of Governors or Department of Education. State agencies and political subdivisions are required to report foreign donations and grants of $50,000 or more to the Department of Financial Services.
- Prohibits specific agreements between state/public entities and the seven countries of concern (Russia, PRC, Cuba, North Korea, Iran, Syria, and Venezuela).

Historic Chinese geopolitical policy, vis-a-vis their totalitarian control over political sentiment (action) and diplomacy through silence, is evident in the strategic use of the space between carefully chosen words, not just the words themselves.

China accepts and believes opposite or contrary forces may actually be complementary, interconnected, and interdependent in the natural world, and they may give rise to each other as they interrelate to one another. Flowing between these polar states is a natural dynamic to be used -with serious contemplation- in advancing objectives as needed.
Peace or war. Win or lose. Yin and Yang. Culturally there is no middle position in dealings with China; they are not constitutionally capable of understanding or valuing the western philosophy of mutual benefit where concession of terms gains a larger outcome. If it does not benefit China, it is not done. The outlook is simply, a polarity of peace or war. In politics or economics the same perspective is true. It is a zero-sum outlook.
Therefore, when you see China publicly use strong language in diplomatic terms – it indicates a level of internal disposition beyond the defined western angst. Big Panda immediately becomes Red Dragon; there is no mid-status or evolutionary phase.

LTC Allen West has stepped down from his position as Chairman the Republican Party of Texas. We have asked him to do so and to run for the Governorship of Texas and replace Abbott which LTC West always stated he had his prior GOP obligations. Is he going to run? Perhaps, and many of us have hopes that this is what he will be doing.

Here in the Democrat Peoples Republic of Maryland (DPRM), we have Governor “Lockdown” Larry (the RINO Squish) Hogan. Unfortunately Hogan is no Hero in this state. I guess the only upside (measured in nanometers) is that we aren’t (yet) as bad as CA, OR, WA, MI, or NY.
I call my governor “Comrade Wolf”, with the most contempt and distain possible. He is a complete disgrace to humankind.

Col Allen West, chairman of Texas GOP, announced several days ago he would not seek re-election. We have a qualified non RINO to replace Grabbit Abbott.
Allen West may have been an excellent military leader; but, as a private citizen and/or politician, he’s much too interested in personal status and gain. In other words, he will put himself first instead of America.
Jesse – can you provide us with some links to reliable sources that back up what you assert? People should know everything possible before they endorse him.
I have always noticed that Col. West, who came to prominence during the Tea Party rise, has been an avid pro-Trump, pro-MAGA supporter. Maybe I missed some things…?

Florida is so very lucky that DeSantis won that last election for Governor. He’s become the way-shower for how other Governors can get things done.
He only barely won to a guy (Tallahassee Mayor) who was found months later drugged out in a motel with his gay lover.
Florida teeters on the brink and the Scumocrats desperately want to claim it. Just like they have Virginia, Colorado, Washington State, and others, picked off decades ago.
With Florida in their grasp they will be insurmountable. It is the Alamo of Presidential election warfare.
Looks like a pair of good, well designed, narrowly targeted laws that if implemented will strengthen protection of intellectual property of US citizens and corporations.
Expect Dementia Joe and his team to challenge it as impinging on the federal government’s exclusivity in setting foreign policy. Expect it to go to SCOTUS where even though it clearly protects intellectual property, it will be found unconstitutional on that basis.
A lawyer would be able to explain, the ~extra legal protections given to American businesses and residents of Florida, if they are incorporated or residents within Florida. Apparently, Florida is giving more legal protections to businesses and residents from theft plus a venue to adjudicate their claims. Surely, more prosperity for Floridians is the result.

Why hasn’t common sense statute like this existed for decades? Talk about shutting the barn door after the horses are long gone. Then there’s the more obvious problem of actually prosecuting, imprisoning and executing Communists and their domestic collaborators. Seems like the only people in jail are patriots. Even the hard core felons are getting released these days.
I get that DeSantis is a darling but I’ve been around since the 50’s and this kind of stuff was obvious to even a deplorable metal bender, why not to these elites with their fancy degrees and outsized intellects?

DeSantis is displaying true leadership qualities not often emanated by politicians. The federal government through mandates has usurped its powers and States rights have been grossly stepped upon. Strong populous leaders like DeSantis and like Trump are what the establishment fears the most.
Just compare the action of this FL Governor with the inaction of most other Republican Governors. It is glaringly apparent.
