If the Deep State’s goal is to totally deflate me, they succeeded. How does it come about that career intelligence employees who have had two years to prepare a report about a presidential directive can’t get it done? The IG reports, Mueller report, Durham report and multiple other agency reports all use the same line…delay and run out the clock. Bottom line: they are safe. They can’t be fired.

Marie, you are correct, Plus amendments could be made AFTER it was submitted. DNI was a drop box, not an investigator. The other agencies had to submit to him and he delivers. Then Treasury, DOJ and many others use it and deliver with 45 days.

I posted a while ago about everyone getting excited and letting the DS state know where we put our eggs and into which basket. It happens time and time again.
The patriots posts are being watched every minute of every day and each play announced by the patriots is countered before it even gets off the ground. People lives are being threatened before they are able to act for the sake of their country. So very sad that prosecution of the thugs that threaten is not pursued.

The DNI and the intelligence services report to the President of the United States. It was the President’s Executive Order that this report had to be ready by December 18, 2020. Now it seems, not only are they flouting the laws of the land, they are insubordinate to the President by not fulfilling his EO.
IMO there has to be ramifications for those that have failed in their duty to get the information to the DNI in time. I do not care how long they have been in the intelligence service, they have to be held accountable.
The President in office is ultimately responsible for the actions of his appointees and if President Trump accepts this without taking some action he is derelict in his duty. Just my thoughts

However, the same “law” does not disclude A REPORT ON NATIONAL SECURITY BASIS TO BE PROVIDED TO THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES AT…ANY EARLIER MOMENT.
It’s rather common sense when you think about it.
scenario: under what rational or practical circumstances would a national security threat be delayed in reporting said threat to the President of the United State FOR ACTION if only to satisfy a timeline. Of course this information would be reported immediately and WITHOUT delay! I will presume the President is quite likely to have been briefed every single day since taking office on matters of National Security Threats. This would be NO DIFFERENT. It is consistent with practice, law, and common sense.
Now, this “delay” being reported is NOT THAT (above). It is the legal ability which has been fully delegated to the Director of National Intelligence to present a report TO CONGRESS.
In this election we are “learning” the importance of law and dates and REQUIREMENTS (Shall, MUST, may, can, order, authorize). These words and dates may meaning and power.
There would be a very real National Security Interest to NOT PROVIDE congress with a serious real active and clear and present danger and threat to this country if said threat and the reporting of it substantively the JUDGEMENT AND EXCERCISE OF EXCLUSIVE EXECUTIVE POWER.
See congress holds “some” power. But congress is NOT command in chief. Congress possess zero executive powers. None. Likewise, POTUS holds zero “true” legislative powers, yet the constitution affords him special powers of which the effects are similar in power to creating the judgment to exercise what and which, some or none of the powers and the supporting laws that the constitution and the legislative branch has created for the office.
When I say the President of the United States has EXTRAORDINARY POWERS, and that they are unique and exclusive is an understatement. In many ways, given certain circumstances, the President of the United States has in fact KING LIKE POWERS. He can rule in these special circumstance without the influence or even the attentions of Congress. The President CAN even defy Congress on matters of National Security.
if you feel this is improper or wrong, I will remind each of you to understand the basis for executive orders. That Every Single President in History has invoked on at least one matter or another.
If you are hung up on whether it would be the right thing to do, is very important, and I agree that it is a valuable question.
But here is the thing. WE THE PEOPLE voted for this President..twice. He is our proxy, boss, and leader. We will trust in him until he proves unworthy of that trust. Trump has NO DOUBT been provided a full briefing. He has likely taken some actions already. He has likely already set in motion a information campaign that minimizes the ability of congress and the courts to interfere. President Trump has likely spent the last several weeks and days creating unassailable evidence and produced falsifiable facts of fraud, corruption, conspiracy and foreign interference across a broad spectrum. In doing so, he can get after it, well before the DNI “must” report about the crimes.

No. Read the EO itself. There is nothing in it about needing a 45 day assessment to trigger it. It is already operational and has been so for 2 years. The DNI has already publicly declared that there has been foreign interference and he has surely told POTUS that. The first 45 day deadline is for an ASSESSMENT, not a full report. That comes in the next 45 days and it comes from DOJ and DHS. Please read the documents carefully at first hand instead of adding to the fog of cyberwar.

When complimented about bringing up issues in the 2016 campaign, Trump’s response was that it did no good if he didn’t win. I don’t think he is tired of winning. Also any person / entity who aided such efforts can have their assets confiscated too without notice. Trump is not going to telegraph his moves to the bad actors by issuing a report on widespread election interference and afterwards use his EO. The money will be frozen / confiscated first, then HE will hold a press conference.

The EO of 2018, to which all these 45 day deadlines refer, is already active and operational and does not need a trigger, from what I read. The president already has the wherewithal to act as he must. The first 45 day window is for the DNI to assess and confirm a foreign threat, and that has happened already. In the next 45 day window, Homeland Security and the DOJ and their subordinates and other agencies provide specifics. That is what may take until January, and rightly so, since politically motivated analysts are trying to downplay the China threat and also because so much new information is coming in. Misreading this timeline either purposely or not, some people are spreading needless confusion and negativity.
And anyone who worked for or in government whether via the military (like myself) or a civilian position knows that government moves like molasses during a Maine winter.

I do not believe the Courts will intervene; the main use of the court cases, like the State Legislature hearings, was to get the evidence out to the American people.
McConnell and his CCP comrades have gone “ALL IN”, and much like Impeachment, are hoping they can “sell” the “Legitimacy” of the election, as an EXCUSE, to certify Hiden Biden as the winner.

I’ve read several comments and other information on this issue of the IC wanting Muh Russia! included in the report while others don’t want China included, or are downplaying it.
What concerns me about this is any discussion at all. Either Russia or China or both clearly were involved in the election, or they were not. I don’t want to hear some bureaucrat-ese about content farmers and Facebook memes.
If there is discussion or disagreement, then it would suggest the evidence is not that clear one way or the other. I don’t believe there is a lack of evidence, but the disagreement suggests someone thinks they can downplay the evidence for one or the other.
