Most CTH readers are likely aware of the term “deplatforming.” Unfortunately, the big tech control mechanism to shut down speech & assembly has now arrived on our doorstep.
One week after the 2020 presidential election, The Conservative Treehouse received the following notification:
…”given the incompatibility between your site’s content and our terms, you need to find a new hosting provider and must migrate the site by Wednesday, December 2nd.
What does this mean? It means CTH is being kicked-off the WordPress website hosting platform because the content of our research and discussion does not align with the ideology of those who define what is acceptable speech and what is not.
What was our violation? After ten years of brutally honest discussion, opinion, deep research and crowdsourcing work -with undeniable citations on the events we outline- there is no cited violation of any term of service because CTH has never violated one.
The WordPress company is not explaining the reason for deplatforming because there is no justifiable reason for it. At the same time, they are bold in their position. Perhaps this is the most alarming part; and everyone should pay attention. They don’t care.
Truthful assembly is now the risk. CTH is now too big; with a site reach of 500,000 to a million unique readers each day; and with well over 200,000 subscribers; our assembly is too large, too influential, and presents a risk… we guard the flickering flame.
Ten years of work assembling a library of factual citations and explanations of those discoveries, positions CTH to be a leading force in the rebel alliance push-back. [Heck, that’s why this place was started… that was our purpose: “The Truth Has No Agenda.”] However, that also makes us a target; hence the deplatforming.
Accepting -at its core- this move is all about politics, this is yet another reference point in the tenuous nature of where we stand. There’s no hate-speech on this website; there’s no graphic, violent, foul or abusive speech here. The ‘content‘ of the Treehouse is the same discussion that happens around your kitchen table or back porch discussion with friends. We would never cheapen or insult that conversation with vulgarity because that’s not who we are… because that’s not who our nation is. So consider this next part very carefully…
The ‘content’ is not compatible with WordPress, the world’s largest website and blog hosting service. The content within the largest blog on that global platform is what has become troublesome. “The content”.
The content on these pages is simply an ongoing discussion about freedom with criticism against any political party or entity that diminishes it. Apparently, immediately after the 2020 election, that discussion became problematic. After writing about the COVID-19 agenda,…the notification: the website will be removed.
Let that settle in…. friends and adversaries alike. Think very hard about what exactly is being represented by these actions. That’s the bad news.
So what are we going to do?
First three priorities: #1 is the security of the site content and research files with over a decade of work; #2) ensuring the ability of our assembly to remain; #3) continue the mission.
In the past several days I have begun contacting people to inform and gather counsel on what is the best course of action. On a very positive note, the Rebel Alliance is stronger than ever and no amount of effort by Big Tech is going to be able to weaken the resolve or block the message.
We will take this challenge head-on and we will use this attack against our freedom as fuel to launch CTH 2.0, a new version of The Conservative Treehouse.
I have no idea yet what it will look like… hopefully not too dissimilar to what we are already comfortable with. However, a lot has changed in the technological world since 2010/2011. There are many new and innovative ways to develop, build and create proprietary platforms.
I don’t like anything about having to be forced to do this. Readers here know I prefer comfortable quality that lasts a long time; but there is no alternative. We are being kicked-off WordPress and will have to assemble on a platform that allows free expression, free thought and free ideas to be shared, valued and appreciated.
Additionally, as I look at preliminary options for Treehouse 2.0, one guiding element is priority: I will continue to work earnestly to be deserving of your support and fellowship.

However each of us got here, it’s probably a fact that we have the turmoil of those storms in common, perhaps some unease that we could share and always, we also find fresh ground to cover from day to day. We’re developing valuable relationships as we trust one another in our community in the woods. The chatting in the branches encourages, strengthens and equips for some serious walking.

Mirror your site at the same place as the burning platform. Just contact the admin at TBP and get the contact info. This is one of the few safe areas with a kick ass hacker to protect you. TBP was under constant attack and he stopped it cold. Get there soon and good luck. If you need some small funding to pay for it get it at the same place as Rittenhouse, not very many safe places left out of the reach of the rich and powerful.

Sundance, I will write more about this later as I saw this on the fly but I am honestly shocked you’ve been deokatformed; not bc I didn’t expect that ANY dissenting opinion to be shut down but because of the speed with which they are shutting down what I would call a “normie” blog – it’s mainstream well researched content devoid of “conspiracy theory/truther” content and commenters engage in thoughtful civil discussion.
My on the fly guy responsible to this is that what is brewing behind the scenes is far bigger than most Treepers realize and they are desperate to shut down any source of “community organization” that will become utterly necessary for what is coming at us next. This blog would have been an outstanding place to organize Treepers on the ground and across the country in a unified well planned response to the opposition that is clearly planning to crush us. To destroy us. That is what this is. It isn’t about different viewpoints on various issues anymore, it is a fundamentally different worldview and expectation for maintaining the Republic moving forward. They hate us and want us gone. Period. This is the only blog I know that keeps up with where commenters are during storms and checks in on people who are at risk. Treepers would be well organized.
There are other people who have been. It only deplatformed but “depersoned” and those are the people to look to for how to move forward. Gavin McInnes and Owen Benjamin come to mind immediately. Both were mainstream guys – Gavin in media and Owen in Hollywood and on the comedian circuit. Both have been shut down from every platform AND payment system including PayPal and Patreon. Owen is suing Patreon and won his first round with them. Owen has created UnauthorizedTV to broadcast from and hosts others who have also been deplatformed or who recognize they soon will be. They use their own servers which is expensive so it’s $5 a month but well worth it IMO to keep any voices against tyranny in the public realm. Maybe you can post a blog through them. Idk. What I do know is if they shut you out of PayPal you bc ant get donations. Owen uses post boxes to take donations and I think that’s a good idea for you if you need to keep that coming in which I assume you’ll need even more now.
If you need to get information to us you should have all our email addresses. If not I’m sure we’d all provide them. Then maybe we could use some kind of message board for comments? Maybe Parler or Reddit until you get kicked off Reddit which of course, eventually you would just like r/TheDonald was.
Some of you might remember back to about 2017 when Andrew Anglin was completely depersoned. Most people didn’t oppose it bc he was know. You can also run WordPress software on your own server. There is WordPress.COM and WordPress.ORG . Should be relatively easy to transfer whole .Com site to your own hosting site running WordPress’s.org software. Tim, that was pretty much what my response was going to be. As a web developer, I think that would be the easiest transition given the short timeline. After it has been moved to a friendly hosting company with WordPress software, then a completely new site can be contemplated and designed without the time pressure.
This is an outrage. It’s more politically-based viewpoint discrimination. They’ll continue to get away with it. Best short-run option: Make backups of all your content. Do exports of all your posts. Create a new wordpress site on a non-wordpress.com platform. Import the data. Be careful about the images. I still need to work this problem. A lot of my images are still hosted over on my old wordpress site. I left there because of the inability to do custom themes and use other unapproved plugins. That was back in 2012. I still need to move some of the images for my older articles over.
Whatever host you select will need to be able to host a LAMP or WAMP code base. (Linux/Windows-Apache-Mysql/Maria-PHP). Linux or Windows O/S, Apache Http engine, MySQL or MariaDB, and PHP scripting engine. One of the approaches you can do is to migrate copies of your images to an identical file structure at your new home, then use a sql script to adjust the URL addresses of your images in the db to match their new location.
I suggest this as a short-run approach. Naturally, in the longer run, you’re going to want to get free of the wordpress software altogether. Still, it’s a fantastic system. The downside is you’ll be deprived of stats and other JetPack features you get automatically with the wordpress.com website, which you will lose if they’re completely de-platforming you. It’s the only reason I’ve not completely disconnected from wordpress.com altogether.
Now, with all of this going on, it’s only a matter of time before they purge me entirely. Just as with this comments section, you log in with your wordpress.com credentials. That will go away too once they deplatform you. It was painful, but I switched to the disqus comment system after the move.
This get us to a larger problem for most folks who run a site like this: You don’t have the time to be constantly operating the site. Looking after security issues, server-side issues(including hardware) bandwidth concerns, and all of that is why hosting companies are nice. At one point, I played with the idea of hosting on my own server at my residence, and while I could make it work, it would never serve peak demand because the bandwidth available in my neck of the woods is not what most people in cities now enjoy. I live in a relatively remote location out in the country away from high speed connectivity. The other is something simple, but amazingly not: Power. We suffer power outages here two-three times per month. We’re literally at the end of the line. Anything that happens upstream from us will put a serious crimp in our enjoyment of refrigeration and air-conditioning, which sucks since we’re in TEXAS. That alone makes self-site hosting difficult for us. The other negative to self-site hosting is anonymity. I gather that Sundance enjoys his/her anonymity as much as Mark America does, and for probably similar reasons. Once you self-host, your IP address pretty much becomes visible to the world, and is static so that DNS lookups will get your visitors to the correct address/server. IP addresses are dangerous inasmuch as they can generally be tied to a location, or certainly to an ISP, which then means you have to worry about your ISP deplatforming you. Going with a hosting service, the IP address lives in their server farm, wherever that may be. Their server farms tend to be more secure than you self-site would be unless you’re an uber cyber security nerd like some guy I know. Anyway, a lot of obstacles. What makes a content management system like WordPress nice is that you can set up templates, themes and formats for your site, and as long as you stay within the design parameters, it all works pretty well.
There is nothing that stops you from going back to an old-fashioned pre-blog website if it comes to that. Won’t be as pretty or have as many functions, and you’ll probably struggle a bit to make comments what you’re accustomed to enjoying, but all can be done. The really big problem is that all of this stuff revolves around money. Servers aren’t free. Bandwidth isn’t free. All the development time and security concerns aren’t free either. If Sundance wants to reach out to me, s/he can do so via my site. Just comment on the most recent post and we can go from there. I’m beyond disgusted with big tech. I work in technology every day. I work with many big tech firms. Some are much worse than others, but almost all of them have their fingers in big governments’ pockets, so don’t look too hard for allies there. They’re in it to do business and make profits, however they need to, by whatever means may be necessary. This is why google and FascistBook and TwitNazis can’t be trusted. They’ve been all about monetizing their platforms in China for most of a decade now, longer in a couple cases. Microsoft is unfortunately a fact of my life where I work. They’re despicable too. Just get accustomed to a FACT that I suspect most of you already know: The big tech industry is full of people who hate you. They look down their noses at you. They think of you as the herd to be corralled and managed. They will take as many of your dollars as they can prod you into spending, and they’ll laugh at you as they do. Like I said, probably not telling you anything you don’t know.
I wish Sundance and the rest of you well. I haven’t always agreed with Sundance on everything. That said, folks can disagree and remain civil and neighborly. I saw a tweet referencing the de-platforming and came to get more details. It’s despicable. You have no idea how much I’ve come to hate these villains. Sundance describes them as the Empire. They’re worse than that. They’re the Empire crossed with a house of ill repute mated to Dante’s inferno. There are plenty of WordPress hosting sites out there. All that needs to be done is to migrate the domain, configuration and database over to the new hosting site and you are up and running.

You can run this yourself by:
1) Exporting your entire Word Press site now from it’s current location,
2) Get a new service provider like GoDaddy and setup a server(s) and install WordPress on them – then import your website.
3) Change your DNS registration over to the new website.
4) Tell WordPress to go screw themselves.

Ever since waking up on Nov 4th, I have been completely pissed off at the world. About year ago, I stopped looking at all other sites except CTH, Trump twitter, Whitehouse.gov, Wirepoints (IL government) and Thomas Wictor (who just got banned from twitter). Yes, I know 98% of Treepers think TW is insane, but his optimism is outstanding and inspirational, regardless if his theories fall apart. Plus I enjoy his non-political threads even more than the pro-Trump rants!
This site is now literarily my last refuge… and the only one that has allowed me to keep some part of sanity for past 11 days. Please let me know what I can do to help as I fear the alternative.
Just a couple of days ago, I was texting back and forth with my daughter. She told me to be careful of what I read on the internet. Said there are a bunch of conspiracy sites that print fake stuff and garbage. She’s a sweetheart and I know she just is trying to look out for the mama she loves. But, really, I am not some clueless little old lady who doesn’t understand how the internet works.
When I first found my last refuge, it was by accident. In other words, God led me here. I was cautious, but I immediately trusted SD and what he was sharing. It is the first and only site that I donated to. And with this deplatforming, I know I was at the right place. Because if WP is kicking him off, he must be saying the truth.
Once upon a time long ago there was a wonderful place called Conservatives4Palin.
It was a community as vibrant and hopeful as its inspiring namesake, who had just ignited a bold, bright new flame of American patriotism, catching the Uniparty by surprise, and kindling a movment they were powerless to stop or control.
They spun themselves into paroxysms of such deep fear and loathing that the condition would eventually be named Palin Derangement Syndrome, or PDS.
The sustained howling and shrieking of the PDS-infected attracted the attention of pretty much every mama grizzly in America, and some of them formed a new community dedicated to counter the hysteria with the truth about and for the object of the Uniparty’s machinations of untruth.
Over the years the c4p community witnessed many things. One of them was the birth of a new neighboring community, being founded by a young man who posted by the name of sundance. Folks said it looked like he was really sharp, and might prove to be a thorn in somebody’s side for sure. The Tree grew and became a blessing to many.
One day the people who kept c4p going awakened to find whole swaths of their community’s contact and identifying information blocked by a certain platform without warning. It sent a chilling ripple through the community, and the effects of becoming an abruptly-disconnected community were difficult, troubling and immediate.
Time has passed and today c4p is a memory, but the Tree House Community lives on with the same bright hope and resolve that had been ignited by one clear, strong voice so long ago.
Its roots are deep, its branches have spread and its limbs have only grown strong under the careful stewardship of the committed souls who tend and sustain it. Its acorns have blessed many far and wide in abundance.
Some of those acorns fell at c4p, and took root to become the forest that now surrounds the Tree and provides a home for all the community’s loyal but naturally non-tree dwellings species. Thus the forest thrives and abounds today.
I guess the moral to the story is The Conservative Tree House is very much a present-tense community. Its branches are filled and it is surrounded by loyal bears and badgers and every manner of fiercely loyal American Patriots.
Never despair. Find ways to remain connected with each other, be prepared to communicate off line, and to be as self reliant as you can.

CTH is the only serious time I’ve ever spent on any kind of WordPress site. I’d head of WordPress but nothing much on it ever appealed to me until CTH. I was beginning to believe WP was one of the good guys who didn’t care what got posted as long as it was clean, polite, civilized. Now this? It’s a huge step toward the dark side for WordPress–they’ve shown themselves to be on the side of those who want civil war in the United States. I hope somebody is keeping tabs on inter-office communication inside the Pentagon. If control of information now reaches into sites like CTH, there must be moves afoot to co-opt the uniformed services into the dirty work of tyranny. Do new recruits still swear to “…protect and defend the Constitution from all enemies, foreign and domestic…”? Have any caveats been added to the Oath?

In an earlier comment I pointed out that WordPress is both a hosting service (wordpress.com) and an open-source software project. Many millions of websites run on wordpress software and have no connection to the evil hosting platform.
In principle CTH can be moved more or less intact to an independent host running an open-source wordpress instance. CTH doesn’t need a hosting service. Straightforward enough to lease an online host “computer” (VPS, dedicated server) for modest cost. As sundance points out the main issue is data migration, but a site as big as CTH no doubt has the IT manpower to capture and restore the data.
The advantage to running one’s own servers is not relying on a “service” that decides to evict the website. The disadvantage is having the responsibility of managing it instead of having a “service” doing it.
But isn’t that part of the MAGA movement? I mean the understanding that we need to be self-reliant, certainly not depend on left-leaning organizations to grudgingly let us have an opportunity to get out our message.

Just sick to hear about this site. It has been my refuge for many years. Older, widow, isolated and you folks have no idea how much you have added to my life. Friends gone, family no more. I am not a quitter. Didn’t reach 75 by giving up. I have unsuccessfully been trying to donate to help but the donate function doesn’t work for me. I can do many things with computers but there is much I don’t know. I only hope that when SD makes a move that my email address is on hand to get notified. I am ready to do whatever I can for our country. My finances are very very limited so I will need to think outside the box. Maybe getting some flyers distributed with info about what is going on…If I could I think I would rent a plane and distribute info that way..sounds far fetched…My beautiful Minnesota went red for President Trump, no doubt in my mind. We can only pray that Sidney and others can offer enough proof/evidence that an overwhelming amount of fraud was committed. Thank you SD and Treepers for all that you are doing for our country. I suggest getting your own platform on an independent hosting site. I use pair.com and their price, service and support has been outstanding. You can then download WordPress and run your own server. Once this is set up and your content migrated, it shouldn’t require much difference in operation. Good luck.

Make sure you have control of your domain name DNS. NEVER let a web service provider have that control. Then you can repoint your site to wherever your move your site. Get a full backup of the site including the database daily until your day of move. Save the backups locally.

WP hosting is one of the easiest.. The key challenge is not a technical one, but finding a hosting provider who is not a coward to deplatform CTH yet again after you transfer the website to the new host. You do not even have to change the look, and feel, and you can continue to use WordPress (but this time a version installed on the new hosting provider’s servers). So, the issue is not the software (WordPress) but finding a hosting outfit (servers) that are not owned by brainwashed, and politically correct liberals. I would look for providers in UT.
