Leaky Leahy is so far over the hill that he doesn’t even know he is in a mountain range.
Rush calls him Senator Depends as he leaks all over the place.
No wonder the media urinalists all love him.
No different than Sleepy Joe
Recusal? Commit to recuse? AYFKM?
Leahy just got slapped hard by the smartest person in the room.
Leave it to Leaky Leahy to tell everyone just exactly what the Dems are planning to do and are doing in this Presidential Election attempted fraud/steal!
Just logging in now. You have a time stamp for that also down?
Leaky Leahy sounds like he has one foot in the grave. He is a pre-existing condition
I think Leahy secretly likes this nominee. His questions don’t have much bite.
Linda- you are too kind. I think Leahy is simply incompetent.
jimboct…reworded: ‘THAT IS A PRE-EXISTING CONDITION” for Leaky Leahy!!!!
I went to school in VT back in the 80’s. The library carrels had some creative graffiti…the one I used most of the time had this in fat magic marker: “Patrick Leahy on the Senate intelligence committee is an oxymoron”
Assuming Leahy has any intelligence is up for discussion after this rambling oration
He is DRUNK … Vermont should be ASHAMED
Well, it is almost lunch time on the east coast.
Seriously, great call. He is drunk.
I don’t think he’s drunk yet. I think he is going through withdrawal and needs to get to he Scotch real quick. What a disaster he is.
He always sounds drunk, unless he has some neurological condition which affects his speech.
Leahy wants Barret to commit to recusal, a conscious decision about a case before hand.
How is this different than to request a nominee to commit to decide in a pre determined manner?
This is hilarious. The Dems always want the opposition to see into the future and demand they do something.
President Trump didn’t fall for that during the 2016 debates when he was the only one who did not commit to accepting the outcome of the election because he doesn’t deal in absurdities and agenda driven prognostications. The Leftist crazy Dems are nothing if not unoriginal and consistent.
I keep thinking ‘this poor, very smart woman.’ What she must think of these ignoramuses.
Leahy is projecting what a judge nominated by a Democrat would do – commit to decide cases as a part of confirmation.
Yes!! Let me be clear that is not what I said! Go Amy Coney Barrett! I did not block Garland as you suggested.
Leahy totally misquotes the President and gets away with it. Then he makes a mistake by misquoting Barrett right in front of her. He didn’t get away with that one. Mental illness combined with evil on display today.
Never rule out incompetence.
No reason why all of the above cannot be applied to Leahy.
After judge Sullivan’s performance, I don’t want to hear a damn thing about recusals!
Leyhe can GFH!
&
How dare President TRUMP chose a person with her philosophy. Only the Democommies get to choose the philosophy?
I just want to slap the sh*t outta him! Arghhh!
Enjoy. We are winning. She is reassuring my faith in justice.
I’m praying she makes it through this. It never stops. 2,000 years of Christians being thrown to the lions. Even if I was an atheist I would have to admit there’s something fundamentally significant about being a Christian if those in power want to destroy them so badly.
Frankly there are three incredible women who IMO could have a huge future impact in the direction of this country.
1) Kristi Noem – Future MAGA Presidential Candidate
2) Amy Barrett – Soon to be SC Justice
3) Sidney Powell – Soon to be Attorney General
Now add it……..
4) Ric Grenell – Soon to be Sec of State
5) Gen Flynn – Soon to be CIA Director
6) John Ratcliffe – Soon to be FBI Director
The future is bright if we survive the 15-30M Fake Mail-In Votes.
Liking your lineup Bogey
Devin Nunes for DNI?
After I posted, I went back through the thread I missed & ran across the picture of Peter Brady’s hair. I felt much better after that. ?
I will never enjoy listening to Leahy…HE SUCKS!
Leahy first elected Senator in 1974
Perfect example of term limits.
In 46 years Vermont can’t produce a decent Republican Challenger for that seat ??
Unfortunately, my home state was invaded by flatlanders and it will never recover.
Never say never, look at the young bright candidates taking on Baltimore & SanFranciso long standing Democrat strongholds.
Republicans need to actively search out these bright minds and get them on the path to takeover vulnerable seats.
The Republicans need to support these young, bright minds. They just sit on their hands and let whatever happens, happen.
Patriot1783 — I can’t speak for Vermont, but I suspect Vermont “Republicans” are okay with Democrats winning as the Reps are here in Virginia
Some history.
In 2012, the establishment was in bed with Romney so VA kept Gingrich (and some others) off the VA primary ballot because they “didn’t get their paperwork in in time”.
n 2014, when the whole country was fed up with ObamaCare and the House and Senate were turning over to Republican, the Republicans ran establishment candidate Ed Gillespie (who barely lost, but lost).
In 2016, fearing they’d pull something on Trump, I registered Republican.
In 2017, Gillespie won a narrow victory over Trumpian Corey Stewart in the gubernatorial race thanks to Republican Frank Wagner getting into the race. Gillespie 43.72, Stewart 42.53 and Wagner 13..74. Gillespie eschewed having Trump campaign for him and instead brought in George W. Bush to campaign for him in Northern VA. He lost to Ralph Northam. Wagner, the spoiler for Stewart, later got a job with the Democrat Northam administration https://richmond.com/news/local/government-politics/northam-appoints-gop-sen-wagner-to-be-deputy-lottery-director/article_cd4c5d31-0717-5049-bb73-f49d99042c28.html
In 2018, the establishment backed Nick Freitas but the above mentioned Corey Stewart
defeated Freitas in the primary. The RNC (VA and National) REFUSED TO FUND Stewart’s campaign and he lost to Tim Kaine (the babbling idiot who was Hillary’s Veep choice).
So if Vermont is like Virginia the Republican Party of Vermont is okay with Democrats just not nonestablishment Republicans and if you’re going to get a Democrat light, then why bother.
It’s called UNIPARTY for a REASON, and I suggest , respectfully that we stop using the anacronym “Rino”, and spell it out every time; Republican in Name Only” i.e. a politician who is running as a Republican, that ACTUALLY supports the Democrat agenda.
What you describe, using “sitter” candidates, and denying funding is exactly what the Decepticons do, to block true MAGA, populist candidates from winning primaries, and what they do if, despite their efforts, the MAGA candidate wins the primary.
McConnell controls the funds, along with McCarthy, for Republican Congressional campaign funding, and the RNC controls THEIR funding.
There are numerous incidents of them with holding funds from MAGA candidates, effectively giving the seat to the Dems.
If the Republican leadership, based on their actions, would rather have the seat go to a Democrat, than a MAGA candidate, then explain to me again why I should not treat the Republican party the same?
If WE, the people don’t, for once and for all, purge the RepubliCAN Party of the political elites, who control the system at the local, State and National level, and who are as contemptuous of the average voter as the Dems are of black voters (for example) the MAGA movement can NOT be sustained.
seriously this is bordering INSANE … Leahy can’t even speak COHERENTLY … I commend her for being able to cobble together what he is asking. Shows she is BRILLIANT.
Bloviating Bag of Bullsh1t. Judge Barret looks like she’s trying to figure out what in the world he’s talking about.
She is so good at calling out this old coot with truth when he tries to imply statements that are not there.
wow THIS is getting into her freedom of religion. Someone SHOULD be objecting.
It is pretty clear to me who is the more intelligent between ACB and Leahy.
Sen Leahy, if a tree falls in a forest in Vermont, and no one hears it, are you still a bloviating and moronic senator who belongs in a room with old Joe talking about kids sitting on their laps?
Just asking for old joe.
I just became aware of some optics of the questioning. Leahy and the Dems on the flats screen look like crazies who have to be restrained and not safe to be allowed in the hearing. Hard for them to get their evil mojo up to speed when not in a herd.
A proper mask for those Democrat senators hiding in their offices:
Excellent! Just tell them it prevents Covid
Listening to Leahy reminds me of this:
Judge Barrett is using no notes.
Never forget folks that these are the Repubs allowing this nitwittery to go on. Wishy Washy weak kneed fakes. Blackmailed- every one if them.Theres nothing. Nothing that can be learned from these hearing that’s not already known. Hold the friggen vote!
Hey, we have to give them the time so we have a better chance of losing the Senate/Cocaine Mitch
Next up, in the words of Mark Levin, little dick Durbin.
He is vile
My Senator. He is up for re-election. I’d love to see him voted out. In my dreams, Illinois goes red. Hey, one can dream. Lol
Is Durban up for election? He seems to reading a campaign commercial
yes
https://ballotpedia.org/United_States_Senate_election_in_Illinois,_2020
It is pretty solid.
general election candidates
Dick Durbin (Incumbent) (Democratic Party)
Mark Curran (Republican Party) Candidate Connection
David Black (Green Party)
Danny Malouf (Libertarian Party) Candidate Connection
Willie Wilson (Willie Wilson Party)
Perfect response to Durban:
“I apply the law, follow the law, you make the policy.”
She turned it back to ChiSpyDi, too, and with great finesse.
What I heard was: you in this (legislative) body make laws; if you don’t like the law, change it.
Feinstein was actually groveling in her questioning to make up for her “dogma lives loudly” gaffe, Feinstein would have been far better off to keep herself BRIEF” but she is too egocentric to do that.
She needs to tell Dickless to go pound sand.
Sounds like Barrett assumes that the cop held his knee on Floyd because of Floyd’s race.
Yes. I wasn’t thrilled with that one.
Sounded like a big fat lib, frankly. Systemic racism, doncha know.
I agree, but if she hadn’t had a reason to take a personal interest in it, all msm news including fox has stated that as absolute fact, and I can see why she would assume that. I was shocked to see even Lou Dobbs repeat it. The actual facts of the case haven’t been aired except in niche conservative outlets like here.
It’s definitely frustrating to see false assumptions being touted as facts, especially by the likes of Lou Dobbs.
Of course it was hard watching that video, but Law Enforcement might have had an issue with Floyd other than race.
Yes, it looked like very inappropriate behavior by the officers, but to assume it was racially motivated is unwarranted imo.
This health care BS is ridiculous, Obama Care destroyed health care in America. The Democrats are trying to use a bunch of sob stories to try and sway a Judge, it’s outrageous. Obama Care killed my brother-in-law and raised deductibles so high people that who had great health insurance before, now have to pay thousands more. Health care needs to go back the way it was before Obama.
I don’t like her assumption that what happened to George Floyd was the result of racism although I do understand the headlines tomorrow if she had said she couldn’t assume racism.
Nonetheless, the perpetuation of a lie is problematic.
So I caught the end of Grassley and most of Leahy. Seems to me conservatives age better. But my real point is that dem’s claims of partisanship are similar to their racism claims. Their charges of partisanship create more political divide like their cries of racism prevent the natural progression of EQUALITY.
Neither side seems to represent their base
Because unfortunately, both sides are representing themselves.
A evil heart & soul ages a person a lot. (IMHO)
This is all theatre to beat up on President Trump and R Senators up for re-election this cycle. None of today or tomorrow will matter. I predict over the weekend, in time for the Sunday talk shows the Democrats will divulge they have a witness that claims Judge Barrett, as a law school professor, discriminated against he or she or it for their gay lifestyle. Too many gays have decided to back President Trump, and that worries Democrats so they will use this wedge identity politics issue to demand in the following week that this claim be investigated by the FBI, then they will demand the need to interview the witness (think Blasey Ford), then they will roll out several others during the course of next week, thereby delaying the vote of the committee (remember what Flake did?). The goal of the Democrats will be to delay the vote of the committee as long as possible so they can delay the vote by the full Senate till after the election. She will be Kavannah’d – the playbook is being planned and its just a matter of when and in what form.
I have missed some of this morning’s session, but so far I haven’t heard a GOP answer to the Dem’s portrayal of the ACA as the savior of sick people. Where are the reminders that the ACA created victims who were not yet sick and who couldn’t afford to get sick, not when their insurance premiums contained ten thousand dollar and upward deductible. Where are the senators who will point out how we simply created problems for a different group of people who could no longer afford to get sick.
I have missed some of this morning’s session
Then proceeds to complain about what he did not hear….
That was my way of saying perhaps it WAS covered.
Instead of using sarcasm to not address my implied question, maybe you could be nice enough to inform me if indeed someone on the GOP side did make the point.
I have heard almost everything and do not recall Republican questions/comments about ACA. It doesn’t bother me one way or the other, but I wanted to give you some answer to your question
Lindsey’s opening statement addresses the ACA
Thanks you for responding!
I believe Republican Senators were told by McConnell at various times in the last year, Republicans will not come up w/health care proposals until next term, knowing it would place an almost unbearable load on the President to get re-elected & not giving a FF.
wow Durbin has the BALLS to talk about gun violence in HIS district … but he has NEVER did ONE thing about it~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Has he EVER been in his black district I wonder? These people are totally OUT OF their minds
“District?” So we are now known as the United Districts of America (UDA). Do you realize this hearing is in the US SENATE and the congressional participants are US SENATORS? As per the US Constitution, each state has 2 individual Senators who each separately represent the ENTIRE state. Sen. Durbin’s “district” is Illinois as Sen Feinstein’s is California.
Durbin arguing with a lady who has 20 IQ points on him about felons and gun law.
only 20?
A zero was left off.
Typo, I ‘m sure.
Yes, I would say minimum 30, and wouldn’t argue with 40,
Durbin’s desire that people who wave guns around in order to “persuade” or to commit violence show the need to bring an insistence on CIVICS in our schools. Personal behavior must show one’s commitment to a civil society.
Never forget, the only people more ignorant than some of these senators are the people who keep them in power.
Durbin: “I don’t get it” about the right to own a firearm vs the right to vote. He’s a senator?
Dickie.. try reading the Constitution and the Bill of Rights
I am avoiding the laser light today but heard just a minute of an Amy Coney Barrett response. The question and answer was irrelevant but she was commenting on the independence of Judiciary. She really got me thinking:
The system our founding Fathers set up 240 years ago is simply amazing. A government that recognizes the people first and safeguards their ability to grant governance to another body. A body of government divided into three separate functions but with checks and balances so that governing authority remains balanced. And a republic that recognizes all 50 states regardless of size or collections.
It is an awe inspiring system and worth the fight to keep it. I am dumfounded that any elected would not fight to represent and maintain it.
Amy Coney Barrett is great BTW. I know she will fight for America
Yes, it was pure genius, plus a lot of hard work, that produced the Constitution and the philosophy underlying it. It goes right to the heart of human nature and politics and does jiu jitsu on would-be American tyrants, completely disabling them.
To easy to forget all the sacrifices asked for and given
So right, gson. The process we’re watching today is our magnificent system at work, live, in all it’s ridiculousness and glory. For all that, there’s nothing like it anywhere on the planet. We are blessed beyond reason, bleating Dims notwithstanding.
Magnificent is a great choice of words. We are all blessed and we should all be thankful
The nation and system of governance that was established by the U.S. Constitution is so enduring, so uniquely powerful, and so appealing to so many people, that this nation and that document have been and continue to be the constant target of totalitarians and tyrants since the beginning.
I dont get why anyone would cheat this system for common thuggery and money. There must be something big that is being covered up
Well…it’s not “common thuggery” and money. It’s many trillions of dollars of money that are at stake.
The Globalist Banking and Multinational Corporate Cabal intends to control the world. Plain and clear.
They aren’t at all interested in saving the United States as a nation.
Agreed, and I am pretty sure Putin was earmarked as a bad guy because he is not interested in a cyber currency. My point was that is is not a political ideology that is motivating factor for the Imperialist/Globalist. They are not doing it to better society or everyday life.
Imperialist are embracing Marxism purely for blatant economic interest. Just like a street thug but for lots of $
And C-SPAN cuts/interrupts the hearing to show the 3 minute House Pro Forma session. Really?
As if they don’t normally show 3-7 live events at the same time?
Paprika, by none other than the now infamous Steve Scully!
Brought no notes. Taking no notes. Left the pads in the locker room. Pretty much says everything about her expectations as to the level of inquiry she will face. They’re not gonna touch her.
Durban was upset that some some commercials supporting ACB’s are sponsored by people he hasn’t heard of. He’s used to the people on K Street.
lol
Don’t see how Democrats can Win this one….
Hats off to President Trump.. for this great nominee….
The Founding Fathers would be horrified that the SCOTUS appointments are such a big deal now. They would know the reason why, though. Without even being told, they would know that it’s because politicians have figured out that they can promote their political goals by appointing judges who will violate the Constitution in their decisions.
I am beyond impressed by ACB. Her intellect, her memory, her experience. I think POTUS hit the ball through the window of the top suite at Trump Tower. I firmly believe we sincerely have a constitutionalist about to be seated on the court. I may not always agree personally with her decisions, but I am confident they will follow constitutional law. Even the Democrats who have functioning brains have to be impressed.,
She keeps saying that she just judges by the Constitution and law and that her preferences, feelings, and opinions about the law are irrelevant. Sounding good!
It’s glorious. She is a true originalist, interpreting the law and Constitution instead of making policy. One would think that that would put her straight down the middle rather than serve the left or the right. However, the philosophy of conservatism as an ideal is rooted in fundamental, non changing truths that serve as an anchor for human society and authentic justice. Our Constitution uses those truths as its premise, and it could not serve its purpose if it were open to evolution or reinterpretation with the times. Therefore, impartial, originalist constitutionalism enables and confirms conservatism itself. Unlike the left, ACB doesn’t have to disqualify herself by falling into the trap the Dems set by suggesting her personal political ideology would drive her decisions. Ideology isn’t necessary; her originalism carries the water for conservatism.
Hopefully, Justice Barrett’s time on the SCOTUS will usher in an era of honest, plainly spoken decisions devoid of the “Parseltongue” used by the Cultural Marxists to distort the meaning of our Constitution.
Unlike former President Clinton. “I didn’t tell her to lie in her deposition, I told her to lie there in that position”
I’m joe Biden and I forgot this message
Not able to watch but sounds like she is doing fantastic job!
Mike Lee … self righteous All about protecting “life” as he agrees with bringing in more “lives” to take American jobs. He is a smug little pric as far as I’m concerned.
So true. Him and his “visas” that he wants issued to people from India to take the tech jobs away from our citizens. He should be banished from the Senate for thinking such a thing.
Lee is on a soapbox pontificating endless monolog. I think he’s worried people don’t like him enough
At the end of his five minute monolog, he finally asks a question. “What is the difference between will and judgement?” Very deep /s
Leeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee, shut up……………………..I want Jerry Spring and chairs thrown. I miss the days of broken noses. Let the Dems hang themselves
Lee is talking about Hamilton. Maybe he will give Amy a chance to talk.
Yes, I’m getting tired of the Lee show.
Mike Lee reminds me of Sheila Jackson Lee for some reason.
“Activist judge who is a textualist and originalist” is an oxymoron. It makes no sense whatsoever.
There’s an 800 lb. gorilla in the room and that is the question that nobody seems to be asking:
What about the constitutionality of government mandated Lock Downs and masks?
