Ground Report from Northeast Ohio – American Flags Everywhere, and Tears, Honor, Respect, and the Unity of Coming Together to Remember
While driving to a pow wow yesterday, I saw a street corner filled with people holding American flags. Initially thought it was a Trump flag-wave rally, so I honked my horn once in support. Something felt a little off though, and then I noticed that there were no Trump signs and in fact, no political signs at all.
Continued driving and came across what looked like a parade route, with families lining up in front of their houses with chairs along the sidewalk and the curb. And again lots of American flags, some of them “thin blue line” flags. Wondered if there were some local festival, or if they had decided to celebrate Memorial Day a week early.
Then I saw a funeral escort with some limos followed by tons of police cars, and figured out this must be the funeral procession for a fallen policeman. Never saw anything like it before, all the people with all the American flags coming out of their homes and lining the streets for a funeral like that. Traffic was stopped for about twenty minutes for the procession to go by, with police cars from seemingly every city in Northeast Ohio. Now right before I woke up I had had an unusual dream, so while the stream of cars went by, I was on the verge of tears and praying the Hail Mary prayer. Which turned out to be appropriate, because the funeral procession for Officer Jacob Derbin ended up at a Catholic Church. I’ll also note that Derbin was posthumously awarded the highest honor, a Medal of Honor.
Arrived at the pow wow while a dance was in progress to honor the veterans. And again there were lots of American flags. Every veteran present was given a flag as a sign of respect. And they were decent sized flags, not just the cheapest little ones.
To me, these are signs of We the People …

Weinroth’s political journey is rife with contradictions. A long time Democrat, Weinroth is oddly running in the Republican Primary to replace one-term Democrat Jared Moskowitz, whom Weinroth enthusiastically endorsed in 2022. Also in 2022, Weinroth endorsed the current head of the Florida Democrat Party, Nikki Fried, when she ran for governor against Ron DeSantis.
Weinroth has even posed for photos with Democrat icons such as Pelosi and Joe Biden. At the time, Weinroth showered Biden with praise, stating aout Biden, “He is so genuine and sincere.”
Bizarrely, the website that Weinroth is using to run as a Republican is the same one he used when he ran as a Democrat. On it, he wrote, “Palm Beach County should be a global leader on the issue of climate change,” and boasted that he “would lead the charge on banning the sale and possession of assault weapons.”
Weinroth even spoke at and helped lead a rally against guns and President Trump. Signs at the rally called for outlawing firearms. Ironically for Weinroth, one sign read, “The only thing easier to buy than a gun is a GOP candidate.”

Democrat Governor’s Failed Deal With GM Leaves Thousands Without A Job
General Motors (GM) will lay off over 1,300 auto workers in Michigan shortly after Christmas, despite receiving hundreds of millions of dollars from the state’s taxpayers through deals with Governor Gretchen Whitmer.
The layoffs will affect workers at the Orion Assembly Plant and the Lansing Grand River Assembly/Stamping plant, as GM delays its shift to producing Electric Vehicles (EVs).
This move comes after a financial agreement in which Michigan taxpayers paid $824 million for GM to promise investments in auto jobs across the state, including the creation and retention of 5,000 jobs.
The layoffs at the Orion plant are the result of GM’s delaying its conversion to produce Electric Vehicles (EVs) like the Chevrolet Silverado EV and GMC Sierra EV.
At GM’s Lansing Grand River Assembly/Stamping plant in Lansing, Michigan, executives said 369 auto workers were laid off starting January 1, 2024, through March of the year. The layoffs come as GM ends production of the Camaro.

I always question statistics like this one when 70% of the country think we are headed in the wrong direction. Now that is a statistic I can believe. I would think that 48.6% would be more like 60%.

Two respondents, same demographic profile (age, race, gender, education level, income level) are asked the old “right direction/wring track” question.
The one respondent us MAGA Republican, and says “strongly” wrong track.
The other, a extreme libtard, thinks Biden admin isn’t going NEARLY FAR ENOUGH, say with Climate Change, and opposes ANY aid to Israel, so also checks “STRONGLY” believes “wrong direction”.
So you have two individuals, SAME ‘Demographic classification’ and their same answers “Strongly agree, WRONG track” are lumped together to represent 10’s of 1000’s who are also in that same demographic group, and yet their views on Biden/Trump, all policies are absolutely OPPOSITE.
