Red States, Blue States, Red Regions and Blue Regions present an incredible disparity within our republic; I’m curious what is the current status of the COVID lifestyle near you. What is going on in/around your town, city, region or hamlet?
Having traveled extensively during this COVID crisis it is quite amazing the scale of difference between cities and states. The media has been reporting in large generic terms, but the stuff that matters is how it impacts your life; your daily function. That’s what we are all interested in.
Right now those who wish to “fundamentally change” our nation are waging a full frontal assault against our constitutional republic. The bombardment seems overwhelming.
It is remarkable how different life amid COVID is within each state, even when two states are right next to each other; and often even between two cities within the same state.
…So how is it your area?
In order to support the most important political objectives of the DNC writ large in the 2020 election, COVID-19 hype is essential:
♦Without COVID-19 panic Democrats cannot easily achieve ‘mail-in’ voting; which they desperately need in key battleground states in order to control the outcome.
♦Without COVID-19 panic Democrats cannot shut down rallies and political campaigning efforts of President Trump; which they desperately need to do in key battleground states.
♦Without COVID-19 panic Democrats cannot block the campaign contrast between an energetic President Trump and a physically tenuous, mentally compromised, challenger.
♦Without COVID-19 panic Democrats do not have a mechanism to keep voters isolated from each-other; limiting communication and national debate adverse to their interests. COVID-19 panic pushes the national conversation into the digital space where Big Tech controls every element of the conversation.
♦Without COVID-19 panic Democrats cannot keep their Blue state economies easily shut-down and continue to block U.S. economic growth. All thriving economies are against the political interests of Democrats.
♦Without COVID-19 panic Democrats cannot easily keep club candidate Joe Biden heavily controlled and sealed inside the bubble; where the electorate is not exposed to visible signs of his dementia.
♦Without COVID-19 panic it becomes more difficult for Big Tech to censor voices that would outline the fraud and scheme. With COVID-19 panic they have a better method and an excuse.
♦Without COVID-19 panic Democrats cannot advance, influence, or organize their preferred presidential debate format, a ‘virtual presidential debate’ series.
♦Without COVID-19 panic the economy would rebound quickly and people would go back to work. This is against the interests of Democrats.
All of these, and more, strategic outcomes are based on the manufactured weaponization of the COVID-19 virus to achieve a larger political objective. There is ZERO benefit to anyone other than Democrats for the overwhelming hype surrounding COVID-19.
It is not coincidental that all corporate media are all-in to facilitate the demanded fear that Democrats need in order to achieve their objectives. Thus there is an alignment of all big government institutions and multinationals to support the same.
Nothing is coincidental.
Everything is political.
Every second that you live your life with thankfulness for the abundance within it; every moment that we CHOOSE to engage with fellowship; every day that we accept guidance from God – however you define him to be; and every moment we cherish this time to be a beacon of optimism; is a moment that we withstand that barrage and hold the flag in place. It is a genuinely patriotic position not to succumb to the attack.
We must withstand this onslaught and rally to the origin of our true national spirit. We must rally to a standard of Americanism and accept this is not that. In essence, we must individually take a stand. Purposefully, deliberately and with forethought, we must engage those around us to get rid of this sense of foreboding.
This approach is how we win the larger battle.
All around us, in every tribe and region, there are people who need you to show them the strength that you have. Strength of spirit. Strength of fellowship that you will not relent from expressing. No matter what noise is shouting from the loudspeakers we must withstand it; we must make eye contact and remain joyful. We cannot allow despair to be the status quo.
Our MAGA message is optimistic; and we must fight against any tendency to allow the leftist hatred and scheme against our American value system to impact delivery of that message… #Trump2020

Other than a mask mandate, South Alabama (Orange Beach) is thriving.
Less and less people are complying from my little spot in central Alabama. More people maskless, stores don’t care, no “Karen’s” complaining, (even the Wal-Mart here said f this). For the most part, everything here is getting back to normal. There is however a marked increase in violence. More domestic violence cases, more fights, more shootings, more robberies and thefts. I have no idea if this is a natural spike that happens from time to time, or side effects of the rest of the crazy going on.
Masks are about mostly about reducing exhaled airborne droplets. In hospital settings infectious patients are masked when moving them to contain their exhalations. No mask will filter out the virus, which is too small to catch; however a mask can prevent inhalation of other people’s airborne droplets.
Nearly everyone here where I live rural North Carolina 20 miles north of Winston-Salem wears a mask in public. In my county as of today there have been 361 confirmed cases and 3 deaths.
Addendum: N95 masks claim to filter out 95% of “very small particles” (.3 micron) which is about the size of a bare COVID-19 virus. A bandana isn’t going to be much help at all.
Of course – not to overlook the fact that for healthy people under age 70 who don’t have a significant comorbidity COVID-19 will be nothing more than a cold, perhaps a nasty one, but nothing requiring hospitalization.
For both N95 and surgical masks, it was found that expelled particles from 0.03 to 1 micron were deflected around the edges of each mask, and that there was measurable penetration of particles through the filter of each mask. (9)
https://www.primarydoctor.org/masks-not-effect
I’ve worn many types of masks during this. N95 are made with much smaller ear loops and are TIGHT. Breathing through them is noticeably more difficult. They become uncomfortable quickly.
I think what Jeffrey is saying is N95 vs a bandana, or such, is a significant difference is helping eliminate airborne virus.
It’s a proven fact that no biological virus is stopped by anything short of a military gas mask.
When we get sick we cough because our lungs try to rid our bodies of the infecting enemy that has invaded us. Now many people will continue to inhale viruses and keep reintroducing them into their lungs.
It’s already proven via health professionals that sinus infections from rebreathing what’s exhaled from the mask has skyrocketed.
I’ve always been of the opinion that masks and “social distancing” are the 2020 equivalent of a 1950’s “duck and cover” drill: A countermeasure of dubious efficacy intended to reassure people that they have some measure of safety from an unseen threat.
Yes hiding under my desk in grade school didn’t make much sense, just like wearing a face diaper
a china virus is 120nm.there is NO mask that will protect you
So I wonder how long will people exhale airborne droplets and how long will we have to wear face burkas?
https://www.nejm.org/doi/pdf/10.1056/NEJMp2006372?articleTools=true
FTA: We know that wearing a mask
outside health care facilities offers little, if any, protection from
infection. Public health authorities define a significant exposure
to Covid-19 as face-to-face contact
within 6 feet with a patient with
symptomatic Covid-19 that is sustained for at least a few minutes
(and some say more than 10 minutes or even 30 minutes). The
chance of catching Covid-19 from
a passing interaction in a public
space is therefore minimal. In
many cases, the desire for widespread masking is a reflexive reaction to anxiety over the pandemic.
My wife is a RN on the COVID ward of her hospital, where she has worked the entire pandemic. She confirms, only the sickest patients on very high flow oxygen are considered an “airborne” risk. Everyone on the COVID ward wears 2 masks and a face shield. After 5 months of working with the sickest of the sick several care providers have come down with The Rona, but all recovered and as far as I know none required hospitalization. My wife has never been sick, even the one time she forgot her mask and went into an “airborne risk” patient’s room (she was wearing a face shield and all the rest of the isolation kit, but forgot to don her masks before entering.)
Rural Monroe County Ohio. Population about 14,000. We have a reported 105 cases, 16 hospitalized, 18 deaths. Would have been a lot less, but it got into the nursing homes. State mask mandate; retail store personnel mostly masked, I see about half of the general public complying. I do not, and nobody has taken umbrage over it. This county was devastated by the War on Coal. Despite a long, long history of voting D, it’s MAGA country now. Plenty of Trump yard signs, have yet to see signs for ANY Dem candidates, even state and local.
I live in North East Ohio outside of Cleveland, and we aren’t allowed in stores without masks. No Masks, No Service. So everyone wears them into stores, most take them off immediately when they leave the building. See a few wearing them in their cars. We also still have a gathering restriction, and Karens call the police when they see too many not masking/social distancing, but our police refer these calls to the health department. It is still very oppressive and many businesses are closing forever. And our Governor is Republican. Some Trump signs and a lot of Biden/BLM. I think this is not because of lack of support, but fear of violence/property damage.
Cindy Lynn, I live in a red area of NE Ohio. I see 20 Trump signs for every 1 Biden sign. But the main grocery store has 99% mask compliance. I don’t get it. I guess people just want to avoid the hassle. Some other businesses are very strict and won’t let you in. I just don’t shop at those. But some people have to go and so they wear the mask.
What will it take before the majority refuses to comply? I am fearful that DeWine will cancel the in-person voting. I knew he was a RINO when I voted for him. but he seemed harmless. Wow, never saw this coming.
Everyone has a different risk level. I believe as most here do that masks are ineffectual. However I have a work colleague that just recovered from brain cancer. My Kroger had two employees die from Covid. So I wear a mask to respect their needs. I call it a kind of witness. I have told people about how useless masks are but if they feel better about ok
Have hope Cindy Lynn. Tom Renz has just filed a lawsuit at federal level against Emperor DeWine and Ohio Dept of Health. Dr. Popper started this lawsuit in motion. She describes why lawsuit is different from all the others being filed, and provides summary and links in this short video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3wrL8ZRj3Xg&feature=youtu.be Fast forward to about the 4 or 4.25 minute mark.
You can read the complaint and supporting documentation at https://makeamericansfreeagain.com/legal-resources/#government-mandates. You need to scroll down to the “Ohio Stands Up” entry on the webpage.
It will be interesting to watch the progress of this one as it differs greatly from most all of the lawsuits being filed around the country. The lawsuit is funded by donations from Ohio Citizens with more info at http://www.ohiostandup.org

Texas governor is silent, still requiring masks. Totally ridiculous since various testing centers admit to fudging the numbers. We don’t go anywhere requiring masks. Bars still closed unless serving food. Apparently alcohol alone is where the virus is hiding. Tired of all this BS. I even see sheeple walking their dog outside in the country wearing a mask. OK governor, get over it, move on. We the people of Texas are sick of this. You lost my vote and a lot of other Texans anyway, just do the right thing. Open the state and get rid of all these stupid rules.
One would almost think he is intentionally trying to turn Texas blue. Dumb as a box of rocks, pharmaceutical graft or Mamet Principle? He refuses to elaborate on Covid other than to suggest there will be economic shutdowns and mask mandates until there is a vaccine.
What’s even more tiresome than the masked sheeple dog walkers is the histrionic, pulling up the mask over their nose when they see me striding happily without a mask — across the street!?. As if they’re performing a public service by “keeping me safe.” I’ve taken to saying “thanks for pulling up your diaper” and flashing a thumbs up. The torrent of profanity from one Karen was utterly priceless.
I’m in suburban Philly. We got hit hard early with the Wuhan Virus being in PA. Governor Wolf sent Covid patients into nursing homes. Horrific death toll. I think Philly isn’t being accurate, because theirs is 40-50% less than all the Counties around it. So PA State nursing home deaths should be higher, much higher.
In August the governor upped pressure on masking. I can’t wear a mask and got more grief at the grocery store for a couple of weeks. Staff is fine, they know the rules, I’m just polite and say I can’t and it’s ok. Then I see them at the courtesy desk complaining… and being told if I say I can’t it’s fine under the mandate.
I’m in a liberal area, but the county flips back and forth. Some Trump signs on major roads were I’ve never seen political signs before, good sign. On the other hand also Biden ones in weird places. Dead end neighborhoods were only you neighbors see them have never had signs except for committee people before. Now they do.
West of here in Lancaster County, it’s like a switch was flipped, lots of Trump signs.
Traffic was dead in March and April… dance in the main street and not worry about cars dead. Picked up gradually since then and is back to normal. Not seeing many Covid hair styles now that salons are open. Deaths have fallen as the elderly are being protected
Our small county has had over 350 deaths, most sadly in nursing homes.
Murder most foul
MfM, Chester Cty? Some of those nursing homes had horrendous numbers, and by order of Wolf and whatever we call him/her Levine.
Yup that area, Montgomery County, PA was/is horrible. An enormous number of deaths. If Philly was so great in nursing homes, why aren’t Wolf and Levine telling the rest of the State what they are doing that works so well in nursing homes?
Wolf is hiding the State’s true number of deaths in nursing homes with Philly’s ridiculously low numbers.
I live on the Border of VT & NH, actually live in Vt so I’ll primarily be relaying about VT.
Our Gov Scott is a RINO who talk out the side of his mouth. Mandates Masks & Social distancing and has allow small business to remain with some cash flow. Can’t really report on Box Stores because I avoid at all costs. Making a big deal on critical workers like health workers. Can’t Comment on public hospital’s because I stay away from them; was CFO & other positions, Even the big ones couldn’t get out of their way if they wanted to. I use the VA for small things in clinic Area’s you don’t have to wear Mask, your choice. People: Younger generations are sound asleep and good little sheepie. Older generation, certainly many in their 50’s+, know this is a FAKE Pandemic. Even in OLD people one doesn’t know if they have other health issues. I live around a 2500+- community and have seen 3 or 4 stupid BLM signs that all. The Board of selectmen & Town Manager are really supporting what I call the EVIL Side; they may not even know it; however OUR Town Manager is supporting the Evil Side knowingly.. Know idea about the Cops; but I won’t trust them, they are way to young. Basically VT is quiet in the rural area’s don’t know around Sanctuary cities or towns. I shop in NH for food & where I groc shop signs indicate masks are required; I have never worn a mask and will not; only one highly agitated women in her 40’s made a small scene. I just ignored her & she shut up while checking out.. Really up tight lady.. All others i’ve seen in the store show no reaction at all or politely nod a greeting. I’ve seen One other man since April who did not wear a mask in this grocery store while I was there.
Had some contract work done at home with heavy equipment. Neither Owner or helper wore masks and of course neither did I. Got to talk with the helper and was assured there are many active Militia
in the area and Vermont. I really don’t think this would be a healthy place for any Antifa or BLM Crazies.
Mountains of western NC, Dem gov has mandated masks. Tiny unincorporated town, many older retired people and many second homes. We live here year round. My 79-year-old husband doesn’t wear a mask to grocery store even though required, but he’s often the only maskless person. He was verbally accosted once by another customer (store doesn’t really care). Most of the people here, even though well educated and well off, will follow orders no matter what. Sigh…
Rural Monroe County Wisconsin here,
Total confirmed cases of 296 with 2 deaths here, after 8611 negative tests. Numbers were only that high because we house a large military base, lots of people coming and going from around the world — that was the locale for the first outbreaks, They kept it closely monitored, and of course, military personnel tend to be reasonably healthy. Very very diligent work on the part of our nurses and medical staff to take care of the people in nursing homes, and kept them safe. Rural families are connected with their older relatives in the nursing homes, at least here, more closely than in the city.
Masks are supposed to be required, but about 40% of the people ignore it. Those of us who do, smile at each other after catching each other’s eyes, a lot. I have made friends with strangers over an encounter at a gas pump or grocery store aisle. People are very polite and accommodating, respecting each other’s distance in stores. I haven’t seen so much manners, courtesy, ‘thank you’s’ and ‘after you, ma’ams’ since childhood. The best part is that everyone,m and I mean everyone, is going out of their way to be patient and polite to sick people, elderly, wheelchair users — it’s really nice to see.
One prissy store clerk who airily told me I would have to leave, so I cheerfully complied. Most store clerks look enviously at my freedom as I check out. I always smile warmly … doing my one-woman campaign for happiness and freedom.

P. S. Not many deaths, but governor keeps finding new ways to report, e. g., positive tests vs deaths.

99% normal here in the southern Ozarks of Missouri, signs say mask required but only a few sheeple wearing them. Traffic for the last 2 months has been as heavy as it ever has been.
Still empty shelves at hardware stores (Made in Chiney) and nearly all stores are missing (Made in Chiney) items! HOORAY!!! It’s Working, President Trump!!
Still empty freezer space and canned goods, Sugar etc. in groc. stores.
Never wore a mask and no one has ever said a word to me.
Big town nearby of 15,000 pop. tried to enact a mask ordinance, people flooded the city council meeting and the council rejected mask requirement.
The local news every day hammering, NEW Cases of Kung Flu, but very few in hospital and few if any deaths.
Trump signs every where you go here!
Joe who?? Kameltoe who?? LOL
No BLM as our population is 99% white
Hi neighbor.
Hey neighbor.
Michigan here…southeast Michigan. We have a far left activist Demonrat in office that is trying her best to destabilize Michigan’s economy with her continued lockdown. “I will not be bullied” is her response to whole industries asking to reopen or suffer permanent bankruptcy. Meanwhile she travels, gets her hair done, and spouts “it’s about the science.” I keep saying, however, ‘Political Science’ is NOT science!
“I will not be bullied” says the biggest bully of them all. I pray we can get the 1945 Emergency Powers of Governors Act repealed to strip her of “her powers” (as she likes to say). Could someone please pour a bucket of water on this witch to see if she will melt???
Worth a try
Worth a try
Harlem residents push back against abolishing the police
Anne Arundel County, Maryland here. I’m in a red enclave of a very blue state where the government is omnipresent. Gov. Hogan started Phase 3 last Friday but our Marxist county executive is keeping us in Phase 2, mostly because Hogan shamed him for no plan to reopen schools. More people allowed in places with Phase 3, including movie theaters and concert venues, but still with limits and still with the masks. The worst is that masks are required in the gym WHILE ON THE EQUIPMENT. Mask shaming is rampant.
Both my kids started school today online. I have a senior and a 5th grader so they are starting their last year at their respective schools in front of computer screens. I have made up my mind that if my younger son cannot get into the local STEM charter school next year then I will either homeschool or put him in private school.
Since my early “retirement” due to the coronavirus, I have applied to be an election judge and to serve on the school system parent advisory board. I made too many mistakes with my older child’s education, and I am viewing my retirement as an opportunity to be more involved in what’s happening. I don’t know that President Trump can win MD outright (even my “conservative” friends who live here hate him), but given all the whining about the popular vote in 2016 I will crawl over broken glass to vote red down the line. I think the president has the support, but the other side is ready to steal this election at any cost, so I am doing my part to make sure that doesn’t happen.

A plastic face shield is much better for gym machines & mine has not been challenged yet even in blueMA. You can breathe in it!
Still under a muzzle mandate here in NE Ohio. I am starting to see more people drop the muzzle and go into stores. I am now doing the majority of my shopping online. I detest wearing the muzzle. If I have to wear one when entering a store, I put it on at the last minute and once I have paid for my items I rip it off and head out the door. Noticing more Trump/Pence signs as I travel around my area and up to Port Clinton area. Only a few Biden signs. Port Clinton had an amazing Trump Boat Flotilla about a month ago. I would say there was over a 1000 boats. We were thrilled to be a part of it. We also attended one in Sandusky, Ohio this weekend. Guesstimate is around 3 or 4 hundred boats. At the marina’s there is little social distancing going on. My husband still has not returned to his office in downtown Cleveland. He has been working from home and likely will continue thru out the end of the year. I see plenty of sheep wearing masks in their cars, walking outside. I took my grandson to the park and a family there all had masks on, including the 4 kids ages ranged from 5-12. The parents were obsessively making the kids sanitize their hands after each piece of equipment they played on. I felt bad for the kids. Most everyone I know is sick and tired of insanity. Schools are open but limited. Distance learning also happening. Some sports are being played at some schools.
I live under Comrade DeWine’s executive tyranny in SW Ohio. My county and the neighboring county sheriffs and public health committees refuse to enforce the mask mandate. Most people don’t wear one outside, but most people I talk to keep a respectful distance and raise their voice a little to be heard. Groups of people that know each other don’t seem to mask (say a large group of kayakers that will camp together overnight). A few weeks ago a guy offered to get next to me to load my canoe on my SUV (I declined, too much pride) but wouldn’t shake my hand for offering. Was awkward and funny to me.
The large corporations seem to drive most of the mask compliance efforts in their stores. I’ll order my groceries online and have them wheeled out to the car. WalMart and Kroger are all masked patrons, but say Cabelas or Bass Pro it’s a mixed bag. My dentist makes you wear a mask and check your temperature before sitting in your car instead of the waiting room. You wear a mask for the 30 seconds you walk to and from the front desk, then you are an open orifice for however long the dentist needs to poke around in there! I know from conversations prior to the mandate that my dentist doesn’t buy into this, but he doesn’t want to get harassed. I’m a little agitated that kindergartners are being required to wear masks. One week they are pre-k, next week they have to wear a mask like something changed.
I wear a stars and stripes neck gaiter (completely ineffective) that I use to cover my neck and head while fishing. I pull it over my nose like a patriotic bandit and figure at this point this is one of the few times I can conceal a gun and be masked. I use it as little as possible, people see it for what it is, bare minimum compliance. Most of the people I interact with don’t make the policy, they’re just trying to get a paycheck so I don’t run my mouth at them.
I ventured into Northern KY yesterday to an entertainment trap and more people seemed to be wearing masks outside, etc in the early afternoon, but once the crowd cleared out most people didn’t have them on. I usually travel around the MidWest for work but COVID has put a damper on that. We aren’t cleared for air travel, and most of the places I visit are over 4-6 hours driving. There are Trump signs here, but they are in strong clusters of working class neighborhoods. Middle and upper middle are pretty sparse for presidential race signs, an odd Biden sign here or there, but that’s about it. Excepting Hamilton county, my county and surrounding were solid red in 2016.
In a recent trip through eastern WV, western VA south of the panhandle there was an overwhelming amount of rural Trump signage. Again, most people seemed to comply with the mask mandate in stores, but not once they got outside. I saw people go into a WalMart without masks and no one said anything, but local mom and pops had masks and social distancing going on too.
My family is blessed in a lot of ways, COVID hasn’t impacted us too much and I write all this with some sorrow for people that have lost loved ones or their livelihoods. We can still get a wide array of the necessities, but I’m noticing the pinch of items being out or on back order in the sporting goods world. The stores I go into for these things are picked over. Entertainment venues + hotels have jacked up their pricing to the point of really only the wealthy can afford to do it. $36 dollar tickets for entry or $400/night hotel rooms. With an average family of 4 things get expensive quick. I have disconnected myself from TV and don’t have a care in the world for sports, I’ve fished more this year than I have in my entire life. I know, because I’ve battered my lures and run out of line on my poles for once!
Hello, JC1974
Perhaps we’re neighbors. Cincinnati suburb, here.
I love that Trump supporters have taken to boat parades to show he has not lost their favor. I went to visit my youngest son and his family yesterday. He said there was a Trump boat parade over the w/e at Lake Lanier and it was reported there were around 4,000 boats participating. If the dims think Americans don’t want him for four more years, they have another think coming. The only chance Hidin’ Biden has is rampant voter fraud.
I live in the northeast in a beach community.
Maybe 1out of 60 people wear a mask on the street; almost nobody wears one on the beach.
Social distancing seems to be only because the beaches are big enough for people to sit 6 feet apart, but groups that come down to the beach together all sit together.
However, whenever anyone goes into a store, they pull out their mask from a pocket, a pocketbook, a knapsack – and put it on. I think people wear the same mask forever. (I have been) They are all crumpled and used looking.
In outdoor seating restaurants the staff wear masks. The patrons wear masks while they are standing on the sidewalk waiting for a table, then take them off when they sit down. This is all too ridiculous for words.
Boston MA area- Still a mask mandate in stores and when you can’t social distance. My church has been closed for months which is very disheartening. You can sit at a table in a restaurant with no mask but if you get up you have to put one on. Figure that out. The RINO governor passed mail in voting, why absentee isn’t good enough is confusing. I will walk, crawl, hitch a ride to vote for President Trump in person. No one is going to stop me or mine.
Our MI guv has gone too far. Although states surrounding us were open to play football and other fall sports she banned them until spring. Parents campaigned and players rallied ag this. This past Thursday she relented and grudgingly allowed football and other fall sports to compete this fall. However, in her anger, she decreed that all players on and off of the field need to wear their masks.
IS SHE COMPLETELY EVIL?
She’s still placing covid patients in nursing homes — causing deaths.
She outlawed hydroxychloroquine — causing deaths.
She uses fake science and refusing to share her data.
Now our healthy, strong, teenaged athletes are forced to compete, run, and play in their germ ridden masks. Making them unable to breathe properly. I am beyond myself.
My son is a (very fast and agile) running back. He will not wear a mask on the field. If his coach won’t play him bc of this so be it. Their team will lose then.
My younger son is so proud – he made the school’s soccer team. (A big deal.) Shall I refuse him his joy in playing? Should I pull him over this?
How long, O LORD?
The politicians stand down and are silent.
The church stands down are is silent.
The parents (grateful for the opportunity for their sons and daughters) stand down and are silent.
The schools stand down and are silent.
Really don’t know how much longer this evil can continue nor how long I will be able to stand the stupid. Today, in defiance, I went to Meijers without a mask. First time I shopped there since July and her mandatory mask mandate. Only person without one in the store.
All this NONSENSE over a cold virus with an over 99 percent recovery rate. I can’t even.
Oh, I can relate! A fellow Michigander here. Some days it just gets to me. Went to Meijer last week and wore a mask to get in the store then took it off. No one said anything to me, but one Karen looked at me, huffed and hurried off. Good riddance! Hoping that the re-election of our VSGPDJT will put an end to all of this nonsense in November. Otherwise, (never thought I say this) may look into moving to Sweden.
Michigander here. I have a kid at state university. He lives in a dorm. Every day they get Covid updates. They had a spike in numbers a week ago. Since then, all have recovered but 30 kids. None of these kids have been hospitalized or have died. Open up America!! Also, I am tired of window visits with my father-in-law at the nursing home. He is declining and we can’t be there with him.
Akron/Canton area of NW Ohio. Just read this a couple of days ago:
https://www.citizenfreepress.com/column-1/in-the-middle-of-the-night-governor-mike-dewine-signed-an-order-creating-fema-camps-for-asymptomatic-covid-patients/
Masks required everywhere. Most are compliant and many are worried about getting the virus. I feel like I am living in an insane asylum sometimes. When numbers are decreasing and there are effective treatments, I don’t understand why so many are so afraid.
Akron/Canton has always been and will continue to be be NorthEast (NE) Ohio, aka the North Coast.
Sorry. Typo. Thanks!
You’re a North Coaster alright. We see our own errors with grace and laughter at ourselves! Nice to find another North Coaster here at CTH.
You are obviously gracious and non-judgmental. Nice to share this part of OH with you!
Good grief. The insanity.
colorado…. don’t ask.
Idaho. Endlessly Stage 4. Governor telling everyone to get a flu shot, wear a mask, and Idahoans are attempting to recall him. Mask mandate 90% ignored – basically you don’t argue with an unmasked person in an open carry state. People are very considerate, try to distance, and probably washing their hands to death, but still going about their lives. I did have an “incident” with my medical provider though… if you get sick, no matter from what, and feel the need to see your doctor, you have to drive to the hospital PARKING LOT and sit in your car until they ASSESS you, which wasn’t possible in my case. So, basically, my doctor refused to give me any advice on how to manage my illness, refused a video appointment, so I gutted it out (literally) for 12 days on my own. I will be looking for a new provider. I think the medical establishment, by and large, are guilty of continuing the Scamdemic Panic and it makes me wonder what in the heck I’m doing paying for expensive health insurance when my doctor refuses to help me unless I COMPLY with their obnoxious protocol.
Small rural town in eastern Tennessee. Most big chain stores require masks, but compliance is spotty. I’ve only worn a mask once, for a doctor visit. Some people at church are afraid something bad will happen if they don’t wear masks, but most see through the propaganda. For awhile our church met at the local drive-in theater, but we’re now back in our own building.
Read your State’s actual mandate about mask wearing. It will likely have exclusions for health, including mental health reasons. Because of HIPAA they can’t ask.wearing
When someone says something to me, I politely say I can’t. If they push I say it’s ok. If they still push, I repeat what I said but add have you actually read the 4 page PA State mandate from Wolf? … it’s really ok.
I don’t want a fight or argument.
In Idaho, cities with liberal mayors have mask mandates. They are loosely obeyed at most private businesses, but the big box stores like Walmart are enforcing them. I have heard of two instances in the last week where some “Karen” has approached a maskless man in the parking lot to accuse him of genocide for not wearing a mask. This is not the Idaho I know, although we do have a ton of California transplants–most came here to escape tyranny, but there are still a lot who want to import it.
Many school districts are totally online. Some are alternating between in-person classes and online classes every other day. Most are requiring masks. To get an exemption, you have to have a doctor’s note, but most doctors are refusing to give them.
Our govenor called a special session so he could implement some new “emergency” legislation. The most controversial one would have granted immunity from businesses from being sued if somone caught Covid there, but only if they had made a “good faith” effort to follow and enforce all of the guidelines and unconstitutional mandates. The first day was filled with protestors, so they brought in a ton of policemen to block the entry of concerned citizens, and arrested Ammon Bundy who had somehow managed to get a seat. The state House passed a measure to end the state of emergency, and now the Gov is saying it’s not valid because they passed it during the emergency session–the one that he called! Not sure if the Senate will pass it. There are a lot who are enjoying their new-found power.
Central Florida…
People are more or less terrified, you can see it in their half faces. Our biggest industry, tourism has been completely eviscerated by the nationwide and world wide panic.
Locals seem torn or what to believe, you have a 50/50 split of wear or don’t wear a mask. No matter the evidence this will be all cured November 4th.
Barren County, Kentucky: Masks required in all businesses. Restaurants are open 25%. Beauty shops 25% but masks required for services most all places. Took a three week, two day pre-pandemic bucket list trip to Grand Tetons, Yellowstone, Custar Park, Badlands, Mt. Rushmore in August: these places were packed with previously sheltered young families from California, Oregon, Idaho and Minnesota, all social distancing and masked..including the kids. But they were hiking and spending!
I have an Art booth in Keystone South Dakota right outside of MY Rushmore. Tourist from all over the USA visiting and vacationing. About 50% wearing mask. I have not worn 1 all summer. Many Trump stores up here and people buying trump gear and wearing it. It is a sea of RED. 98% of the people are Trump Voters. I am doing well, people are buying my rock candles
Hey Patti – heard you guys are getting blasted with snow now – good for the purge I tell ya!
Will have to swing by when I visit my kids in Rapper City as my granddaughter says.
I spent Labor day weekend in Cave City. Both Bucky Bee’s and El Matzatlan looked a lot fuller than 25%. Not many mask wearer’s going in the convenience stores including myself. Employees had their masks on their chins.
pre-pandemic PLANNED trip…
We hosted an “at home tailgate” over the weekend, as local university refuses to allow tailgating, requires masks inside stadium and even in the open air seating! Meanwhile, the players are allowed to have blm letters on their helmets…
In spite of politics & the non-science nonsense we had a wonderful time, No masks, everyone brought their favorite tailgate dish, there were lots hugs and laughter, imagine that, a normal evening!
I would wager to say, although I didn’t poll, all were Trumpers.
Just looking at some statistics compiled on CoVid-19. When states are ranked for number of active cases per population, the best 10 states to visit are New Hampshire, Vermont, Maine, Wyoming, Minnesota, Massachusetts, Wisconsin, Ohio, West Virginia and Pennsylvania. When ranked for number of cases per population, the worst 10 states to visit are Florida, Arizona, Georgia, Rhode Island, Maryland, Alabama, South Carolina, Missouri, Virginia and Nevada.
At one point the CDC was talking about herd immunity. If you look at the number of people who have already had CoVid and recovered, the best states to visit are Louisiana, Mississippi, Tennessee, Texas, Arkansas, New York, District of Corruption, New Jersey, Iowa and Illinois. Notice here that several of these led the country in number of cases and number of deaths. The states that you may want to avoid if you’re looking for the herd immunity protection are Oregon, Virginia, Rhode Island, Hawaii, Vermont, Missouri, Kentucky, Alaska, Maine and Arizona.
These lists had some surprises. Then again, no more than some of the policies that have come from the revolving CDC or from some of the extra-political governors!
My state rep did a chart comparing covid-positives vs total fatalities in Illinois as compared to prior years. It showed a clear rise in fatalities in March/April/May, peaked, and had gone back to normal levels by August, even though our COVID cases continued to rise as the lockdowns eased. So the vulnerable got hit hard; now the ones getting it by community spread are going to in all likelihood be fine (see, colleges). But our stupid governor and Chicago mayor love cracking down on people they don’t like, so COVID regulations are here to stay until the idiot Democrats who dominate this state get a clue. There is a clear political demarcation between R’s (love liberty, will take educated risks) vs. D’s (fearful for safety and hence likely to scream at small children not wearing masks).
Texas Guv Abbott not doing himself any favors overnight with the following from the Montgomery County The Golden Hammer:
“Austin, September 8 – Governor Greg Abbott yesterday issued a proclamation extending his Disaster Declaration for all Texas counties in response to COVID-19. Originally issued on March 13th, the Disaster Declaration claims to “provide the state a variety of resources to effectively serve Texans as the Lone Star State continues to mitigate the spread of COVID-19.”
“In actuality, the statistics from the United States Centers for Disease Control make clear that the COVID-19 disaster is an economic one which government actions caused, not a public health disaster from the virus itself. Originally, government statisticians predicted over one hundred million cases of COVID-19 in the United States with more than three million deaths.”
ENOUGH already!! is the current climate … Bottom’s UP !!

Colorado is for wimps these days. The Glenwood Hot Springs charges a lot of money to get into the warm water (used to be $18/dollars but now one can only stay for 2 hours because only 600 people allowed at one time. Wait time to even get in is 2 hours. All 600 end up next to each other about 6 inches apart in the hot pool but not wearing masks..
Grocery stores, hardware stores, sprinkler parts stores require them to enter so I rarely go. My DIL says it is ‘being considerate’ to wear the things but I say it is all about control. The government is using fear to force people to do things they don’t want to do.
My neighbor has been wearing her mask all the time. Walking her dog or working in her yard, all conversation is muffled. She claims she is allergic to wildfire smoke but she has always been a big believer in the Wuhan Flu.
Kamala Harris: Biden could lose…. CNN: Joe Biden’s true lead is smaller than it appears
https://www.investmentwatchblog.com/kamala-harris-biden-could-lose-cnn-joe-bidens-true-lead-is-smaller-than-it-appears/
Probably better in the Presidential Politics open thread, but I think the media is starting to lay the groundwork for a Biden epic defeat. His job is to save the down-ballot candidates anyway (try to save the House), so he’s not expected by Dems to actually win.
The problem Democrats and the Media have is the same as in 2016. Their biggest victims are their own voters.
FORGOT SOMETHING: BLUE AND GOLD CHOPPERS
The Potomac River is near us. The result is a whole lot of chopper traffic. POTUS, the Army, the Coast Guard, occasionally the Park Service, local news choppers and finally the Blue and Golds.
For years I saw them fly over us and inquired as to their meaning. Finally someone pointed me to an open source blog that explained them to me. If I read the blog correctly, these choppers are for the continuity of government. They either practice or patrol as needed and have been doing so for decades.
During W, I did not see them all that much. During Barry, I saw them all the time. Under PDJT, I see them more at certain points, and then not so much at other times. They do not seem to give an indication of anything in particular, but must have some specific periods for additional practice / training, or I am just completely in the dark. Who knows; I do not wish to read too much into their business.
June was a busy month, July and August were not. So far, September is quite.
Trust me when I say that the chopper traffic has caused many a neighbor to consider it one of their reasons for relocation. They were not mad at the government or anything, but at times the flight paths can shake a home.
Big increase in WV cases since testing. https://dhhr.wv.gov/News/2020/Pages/COVID-19-Daily-Update-9-8-2020.aspx Population 1.7 million. Lot of folks not wearing mask Some packing handguns on belt holster. Talked ot Walmart employes at stores in Keyser and Moorefiled. No employees have gotten the virus. Walmart getting richer… Many folks from Ohio, Pa., Maryland and Virginia coming to visit and get a break and shop in Walmarts.
SE Michigan, home of once Michigan football… people still wearing masks.
Whitmer latest and greatest…gyms can open 25% capacity but everyone must wear one to work out. No Thanks!
Pools an open on Sept 9th. Now here is the deal ALL of our pools close after Labor Day so now they can open Sept 9th. It’s 58 degrees today.
My church opened 7 weeks ago, no one has caught CV19. Some folks have still not come back, but that’s ok, we are growing and had 4 baptisms last week, and people getting saved every service.
Perdido Key, FL (northeast panhandle). No masks, I even go into Publix now without a mask, no one says anything. Restaurants still have servers wearing them, except for one small breakfast/lunch place. Owner is MAGA. Tourists pour in with their face masks on and in about thirty minutes off they come. I live close to lower Alabama, they have a mask mandate but no one in Baldwin county seems to care. Everyone has their masks below their chins. The only Karens I run into work at military locations. Not active duty but the low wage hitlers trying to force people “TO COMPLY”. I walk by laughing at them. Went out on the Harleys this weekend. It was glorious! Had a magnificent weekend.
I live in CA under Aunt Nancies nephew. God help us. he’s clearly just a yes man to the deep state. The Harbor Patrol and LA County Beaches threatened California beach goers with $500 dollar fines for not wearing face masks at the beach over labor day weekend.
The news covering beach goers in LA County has been quiet as a mouse. You would think there would be news showing maskless Californians littered up and down the coast during this heatwave. Who the hell would wear a mask in heat like that, and at the beach! That is an outright abuse of power! There has never been a proven case of catching a virus outside. No virus on this planet is going to survive the iodine waters of the ocean with temperatures over 100 degrees. The mandate was outrageous!
Tennessee, Upper Cumberland area: recent spike in positive tests, mask wearing increased, but still in the minority. Doctors, Health Dept. enforcing w/ temp checks. Wally, other chain retailers posted signs but not enforcing. (Once, at Wally, I was offered a mask. I said, “medically exempt” and kept walking.) Local retailers don’t care, and appreciate the increased business.
Nashville enforcing masks with $50 fines, complements of Comrade Mayor John Cooper.
“Snooze Chanel No. 5” doing a major expose’ on Republican Gov. Bill Lee spending 80 million on ineffective masks (yes they said ineffective!) with no competitive bidding.
(Do what we say, but you’re still in the wrong party, so we will crucify you for it!)
East Texas, here. Our county has had 528 “confirmed” cases and 18 deaths. Two of our customers had it and were deathly ill but not hospitalized. They WERE NOT given the HCQ protocol. A friend’s daughter-in-law, who is a pharmacy tech, has told me that the State Pharmacy Board has threatened pharmacists with losing their license if they prescribe HCQ for the ‘rona. Also, a friend’s brother nearly died from it. Another friend’s husband, son, and mother contracted it (in Kentucky) and the mother and husband were hospitalized.
Masks mandated in Walmart and at the orthodontist. School has started both in person and online, but the kids have to wear masks all day if they are in person, so my daughter is online. We are one of only 3 districts that will not allow the kids to participate in extracurricular activities if they are doing online schooling, A number of us are really angry at the superintendent, as that was his call.
My daughter and I are involved with two different theatre groups, and with one we’ve had one play performed a couple of weeks ago, with another one coming up on the 20th. Our venue can seat 140, so we’re allowed 70. Instead of doing two weekends we’re doing one evening show and a radio show. Some people wear masks, some don’t. We no longer do a receiving line at the end – we wave and say “Thanks for coming!” The other one has almost completely shut down except for doing radio shows with the local radio station. My daughter and I also sing sometimes at the Farmers Market. Last month when we did there were a few people wearing masks but I don’t recall any of the vendors wearing masks.
My brother is an Uber driver in Dallas. Uber mandates a mask, so he carries a box with him when picking up passengers and if they don’t have a mask he sells them one. He says his business is almost back to normal.
My mother is elderly and lives next door to my sister, so to be extra cautious her twins are doing school online.
I’ve been out to eat once since this started – mask required to table, server wearing mask. It was an off time (around 2 pm), so there weren’t many people but there were tables that were off limits to promote social distancing.
First Monday (largest flea market in the area) was shut down in March and April but opened back up in May. My husband drove by and said that there were tons of people but very few wearing masks.
We’re in a rural area and don’t get out much to begin with, but due to the shutdown of everything I got concerned re: daughter-child’s being indoors all the time so tried to get her a trampoline. That was a two month search. I finally managed to get one from Wayfair. Our previous trampoline (which got slung into one of our lakes by a tornado) cost $175. This one was almost $500, and not as good quality.
Unlike some people, I’m not angry at Governor Abbot. I think he’s in a hard place and trying to make the best decisions based on the advice he’s being given. I think the advisors are full of it, by the way.
When we elected a conservative governor, as we thought was the case with Gov. Abbott, we expected him to act like one!
Governor Abbott may as well been any Dim-witted governor of a Blue state for demanding his hocus- pocus mask mandate! Governor Noem of South Dakota is tough and won’t allow the liars to pull the wool over her eyes.
As you know, Texas is being overrun with progressives fleeing their failed states, Also, there are many south of the border illegal aliens whom Beta O’Rourke wants to use as voters.
It is wise for Texans get on the ball and hold our elected officials accountable.
Same advisors as used by Gov. Perry on the hpv mandate which he later reversed and called it a mistake.
Washington County, Oregon. Shut down ’till November. I live in the country and my husband works from home. As long as we stay away from the cities, we’re good.
South Lake Tahoe, CA.
RN at a 40-bed hospital. We haven’t had a COVID patient in-house for 3.5 weeks. We had a couple a week for awhile. No deaths in house, never anyone on the vent. I know of a couple of people who had COVID and did fine. But not one of them lived in town. We have about 15,000 base population. No one got sick. And we were exposed to a buncha folks because, for some reason, idiots in the Bay Area thought the mountains were a safe place to go during the shut down. So, it’s not like we weren’t exposed.
I have to smile when I see folks walking out of the store while ripping their masks off. I can read it in their eyes: Trump2020, no more BS!
Oxford County Maine. Zero china virus deaths and few real cases. I’ve done my part by never appearing masked in public here and by standing up for that decision with my dollars. I reward the brave merchants who want to do business with me as normal and there are some here thank God. I cannot imagine life in the cities let alone the suburbs. I am in farm country, deep in the fields of corn and camp.
I think a lot of people in CO have sort of resigned themselves to the idiotic masks. I’m always surprised how many people I see walking around outside wearing them. It’s reached pure nutty at this point. Yes, I will put one one, because the businesses are being threatened by the Government, and I don’t see it as my job to put their jobs in danger. But, I definitely put it on after I’m already in the store, wear it half-assed, and take it off before I walk out the door.
I’ve seen some shuttered businesses, but not too many. Things barely deviated from normal (for me anyway) even in March/April. We don’t eat out much because we’re better cooks and it is cheaper. The activities we like to do are outside-oriented. I see people wearing full masks on hiking trails in hot weather and I just laugh and laugh. I’ll wear one in a business to protect the owner and employees, but if you’re wearing on on a hiking trail in 80 deg weather at 8,500 feet (and all the UV radiation that goes with that), you’re just an idiot and I can’t help you.
The mountain towns in CO have gone overboard. Mainly because they’re so far-left-wing, based on voting patterns anyway. Downtown Breckenridge has declared all indoor and outdoor spaces within a block of main street as mask zones and you can be fined if they catch you not wearing one. Hilariously, if you sit on the street behind a rope, you are immune from the ‘rona. So it shows you the masks are more political than medical in towns like Breckenridge, CO.
We were up there for the holiday weekend, and stayed out of the towns for that reason. We ate out once at a local breakfast place. Mask to get in, but again you’re immune once you sit in a booth. I enjoy being looked at like a criminal for refusing to wear one while I’m standing in line outside.
Coastal NC. Many northeast/ DC/ VA/ PA/ NY etc transplants here so the general flavor is sadly leftist. When blm first came here in their arab springlike assault our fantastic sheriff and LEOs met them in full riot gear, gave them 5 minutes to disperse. They did. There is a ‘presence’ (or was, I haven’t been downtown in a while) under a circus awning near courthouse. Our terrible soros-puppet governor has just extended our mask mandate and lockdown for 5 more weeks. All stores in Wilmington require a mask. Not sure about nearby towns/ neighboring counties.
My nephew and another two dozen middle schooler classmates were quarantined after one student tested positive for the virus. The odd part in that story, it took a week for the district to decide the quarantine was required.
My sister tells me kids are starting to tell their parents they don’t feel good in order to skip school. She also hasn’t kept my nephew quarantined but for school in person. Not that any of us are too concerned.
Masks still strongly suggested in retail establishments but this is really about the only place around town one might see mask wearers. I have not checked the state numbers (Iowa) in many weeks, frankly, in my mind, this virus is long over.
90 miles north of LA on the deep blue coast.1.2% Black, so BLM is a movement only out at UCSB and the place has 27% of the population speaking Spanish in the home, so the cops here tend toward shooting white people and hispanics (a young man, son of TV Tarzan, was shot something like 27 times for pointing a cell phone)
Deep blue on the COVID with stupid rules like beaches open but parking lots closed, no stationary activities on beaches or in parks, but for the most part rules are not enforced. Outdoor dining works well here because weather is pleasant. All businesses require masks to enter, but some don’t enforce it, and some shop keepers don’t wear masks unless the get scolded
Main issue is the Karen’s, scolding white ladies wearing masks while driving their Prius with the virtue signaling rainbow lawn signs. They say they believe in “science”, but really they just believe Democrats like Governor Newsom who has no idea what “science” means
We live in a small mountain community in southern California. Masks required in stores and restaurants but people out at yard sales and walking dogs and kids usually with the mask around the neck. Quick on and off at stores and Post Office. Salons just opened 25% for haircuts finally. Some indoor malls just opened before Labor Day,
North East Texas
All the big chains mandate face burkas However, the quick pick-type gas station nearby just says to maintain distancing.. I was disappointed that a nice, independent grocery store had a sign stating that you must wear a mask to enter so I turned around with my wallet in hand and left!
No mask for me. Started out using the curb side service but later found businesses that do not mandate that you wear a mask. I will not play games and wear one on my chin. It is absurd that restaurants demand a mask on entry but then you can take it off when seated! I found a nice mom and pop diner that doesn’t go for that nonsense. People, we are finding out more and more that the China flu stats are a farce.
herebouts, we are in southern hill country, where do you find those rebels out there? We haven’t been out to eat since 2019!! well it feels that way. And I see our deep state governor just extended the ridiculous mandates again, he has to go. our county was almost below the 20 threshhold, and what do you know? BINGO 21 new cases in one day, imagine that. just wondering how to find rebel businesses here. I will put the muzzle on my chin if I must, grocery/WMT but as soon as I pass the hall monitor, off it comes. so far so good, but restaurants here are a problem as are smaller establishments. and of course those pesky virus ridden bars and gyms, those are still closed. sign me disgusted with Abbott!!
Well, I just drove around and looked for them. There are a lot of Cali’s moving into your area so I can understand why it is difficult for y’all. Being that you live in the hill country, take a look at Chad Prather who says he is running for governor of Texas.
https://texashillcountry.com/chad-prather-governor-texas/
I have heard of that guy, we will see how that goes. Most of the places here have the mandatory signage, MASKS REQUIRED, at that point I usually turn around and take my wallet online. Do miss going out for dinner and social interaction. Tell me about CA and others coming in here. We see MN, WI, IL, and CA all the time, some WA and OR. As long as they leave THERE where they left it and don’ bring it HERE. And the new home construction is off the chart here. It used to be Texas country but no longer. And now we have a leftist governor, ARRRGGGGHHHH
