Red States, Blue States, Red Regions and Blue Regions present an incredible disparity within our republic; I’m curious what is the current status of the COVID lifestyle near you. What is going on in/around your town, city, region or hamlet?
Having traveled extensively during this COVID crisis it is quite amazing the scale of difference between cities and states. The media has been reporting in large generic terms, but the stuff that matters is how it impacts your life; your daily function. That’s what we are all interested in.
Right now those who wish to “fundamentally change” our nation are waging a full frontal assault against our constitutional republic. The bombardment seems overwhelming.
It is remarkable how different life amid COVID is within each state, even when two states are right next to each other; and often even between two cities within the same state.
…So how is it your area?
In order to support the most important political objectives of the DNC writ large in the 2020 election, COVID-19 hype is essential:
♦Without COVID-19 panic Democrats cannot easily achieve ‘mail-in’ voting; which they desperately need in key battleground states in order to control the outcome.
♦Without COVID-19 panic Democrats cannot shut down rallies and political campaigning efforts of President Trump; which they desperately need to do in key battleground states.
♦Without COVID-19 panic Democrats cannot block the campaign contrast between an energetic President Trump and a physically tenuous, mentally compromised, challenger.
♦Without COVID-19 panic Democrats do not have a mechanism to keep voters isolated from each-other; limiting communication and national debate adverse to their interests. COVID-19 panic pushes the national conversation into the digital space where Big Tech controls every element of the conversation.
♦Without COVID-19 panic Democrats cannot keep their Blue state economies easily shut-down and continue to block U.S. economic growth. All thriving economies are against the political interests of Democrats.
♦Without COVID-19 panic Democrats cannot easily keep club candidate Joe Biden heavily controlled and sealed inside the bubble; where the electorate is not exposed to visible signs of his dementia.
♦Without COVID-19 panic it becomes more difficult for Big Tech to censor voices that would outline the fraud and scheme. With COVID-19 panic they have a better method and an excuse.
♦Without COVID-19 panic Democrats cannot advance, influence, or organize their preferred presidential debate format, a ‘virtual presidential debate’ series.
♦Without COVID-19 panic the economy would rebound quickly and people would go back to work. This is against the interests of Democrats.
All of these, and more, strategic outcomes are based on the manufactured weaponization of the COVID-19 virus to achieve a larger political objective. There is ZERO benefit to anyone other than Democrats for the overwhelming hype surrounding COVID-19.
It is not coincidental that all corporate media are all-in to facilitate the demanded fear that Democrats need in order to achieve their objectives. Thus there is an alignment of all big government institutions and multinationals to support the same.
Nothing is coincidental.
Everything is political.
Every second that you live your life with thankfulness for the abundance within it; every moment that we CHOOSE to engage with fellowship; every day that we accept guidance from God – however you define him to be; and every moment we cherish this time to be a beacon of optimism; is a moment that we withstand that barrage and hold the flag in place. It is a genuinely patriotic position not to succumb to the attack.
We must withstand this onslaught and rally to the origin of our true national spirit. We must rally to a standard of Americanism and accept this is not that. In essence, we must individually take a stand. Purposefully, deliberately and with forethought, we must engage those around us to get rid of this sense of foreboding.
This approach is how we win the larger battle.
All around us, in every tribe and region, there are people who need you to show them the strength that you have. Strength of spirit. Strength of fellowship that you will not relent from expressing. No matter what noise is shouting from the loudspeakers we must withstand it; we must make eye contact and remain joyful. We cannot allow despair to be the status quo.
Our MAGA message is optimistic; and we must fight against any tendency to allow the leftist hatred and scheme against our American value system to impact delivery of that message… #Trump2020

Still the same here in Nevada County California. 50/50 on masks in stores. Governor Newsom changed reporting to every 3 weeks so we can extend the absurdity into elections.
San Diego county – masks required to enter all stores. On my walks I see people with masks – some without. Restaurants have outdoor seating – must wear masks until you sit down at the table – then again when you leave. I know people who are terrified they will catch the virus – one told me they will not leave the house, except to pick up pre-ordered grocery deliveries at Walmart, until a vaccine is available. I have sent him videos that show nobody with COVID at hospitals and how minuscule the death rate is and how large the percentage of recovery but he always comes up with some excuse to cover for the party line.
Small midwestern city here. Spike in cases but deaths very low. Biggest concern is that our city is now a rat ship. People reporting on others for failing to wear masks, for failing to “distance”, or for gathering in groups. The blame game is rampant. Adults accusing young people of spreading the virus for something as simple as hanging out with a small group of friends. People unjustly blaming co-workers for outbreaks of the virus. Some refuse to play the test/quarantine/mask game but have to lie about it. Never thought I would see this in our country. We now know who we can trust and who the brown shirts will be.
May I inquire as to what state that is? I have to travel to the midwest in the near future.
Missouri.
But rural areas here are fine.
Thank you, Adams5. I plan on coming back via southern MO area through the Ozarks while avoiding the bigger towns. Its how we travel cross country anymore since retirement. Its not because of the chi com virus, or the BLM/antifa zombies. We just like to avoid the boring interstates so we can enjoy the history and architecture of small town America. Looking forward to some MO BBQ!
“Without COVID-19 panic Democrats cannot easily achieve ‘mail-in’ voting; which they desperately need in key battleground states in order to control the outcome.”
I don’t think that is the case any more. They will go for mass mail-out of ballots irrespective of Covid situation.
Do we have any postal workers who can confirm what/if anything they have been told in their state?
The postal unions could decide this election all by themselves if they choose to selectively deliver/collect/stockpile etc.
It all depends on the “Electoral College”
It’s not the blast mailed ballots that worry me, it’s the pre-filled out ones that will be supplied when needed that worry me.
Hi desert of California, near Joshua Tree, Smokey as all get out, still have electricity (thanks Trump) still battling the mask nazis at the entry to stores, but I get the last laugh, I wear a bandana to get it and then slip it down once inside , so I sit on the deck most of the time and shoot chipmunks and then send pictures of the dead ones to my snowflake friends so they can have a good cry!
Joe Biden shots mice in his basement. Or so I hear. His count is probably higher than yours, if only because he spends more time in his basement than you do on your deck.
lol , that’s funny, sir
Locked_Down_in_Cali: To the west of you, on the Westside of LA, our early evening sky has a sort of muddy-red hue, due to all the particulates in the atmosphere, including ash and other nasty stuff from the fire out your way. The air quality this weekend has been lousy.
Ditto here in Las Vegas. Hazardous air quality and the hue has been sort of a yellow-orange all day. Can smell the smoke. Someone needs to tell Governor Hairdo, climate nazi, that his state is polluting about a third of the western U.S. at this point. Idiot.
Ain’t it the truth. I’m in Henderson and all day the sky made me think of what the end of the world would look like. An eerie color and feeling, thanks to Gov. Nonsense.
Far Northern Vermont, no covid, its all a lie.
Southern Utah here. Most everyone realizes the scamdemic is a joke. The State of Utah still mandates masks in its buildings. Stores want masks worn. I haven’t worn one weeks.
Other than the sheep, life is grand here.
Wasatch mountain area Utah here. Masks upon entry in stores but pretty laid back with enforcement. Most everything open, gyms, restaurants, etc.
Southwestern UT? I’m in Cedar City.
What you stated could describe here. Some private businesses “mandate” masks but won’t treat you any different if you walk in without one. Mask participation in private businesses is between 50 and 95%, but we have a lot of tourist traffic, mostly “city people” from Cali and Nevada. Were it just the locals, I expect only the actually vulnerable and the virtue-signaling college students would be participating. Occasionally you’ll see someone wearing a mask in a car, invariably with out-of-state plates. I personally have yet to wear a mask at all. Participation with social distancing has been waning for a while.
Everyone I know rolls their eyes at it and knows it’s a scam. Strangers on the street openly talk about how stupid it is. I know “of” some who have yet to swallow the red pill on the matter but the fraud is unraveling a little more each day.
To someone passing through the area, the partial-capacity seating at diners and the toothless mask “mandates” in stores would be the only real giveaways anything was out of the ordinary.
Yeah bro. I’m just west of you about 30 miles.
In the Kendall area of Miami, I have seen no indication of CV19 skewing anything a few months ago, or now.
I have been told by local media that it has decreased substantially, but I could not swear to it.
Everyone still in masks; moderate auto traffic; as an old guy, I still worry. My kids and grandkids don’t seem fearful of CV. They are not care-free about it but it doesn’t seem to concern them.
Restaurants opened partially for dine-in a few days ago, but we’ll wait at least a week or two to see what’s up.
In SW Kendall masks needed to get into stores. The county says a mask is needed outside. But they can forget that I flat refuse. No one says anything outside. I even had conversations with police and they did not care. Supplies in stores are pretty much back to normal except for a few things. Ammo is very hard to come by.
Drg13miami, grew up in Kendall. Went to Killian high, I miss miami so much. ???
Went to the beach in RI and nobody had face filters on. Only when getting coffee at drive-thru did we see someone wearing it (the employee). Even among my co-workers, we only wear them when an outsider comes by. After months of warnings, people have reached alarm fatigue…kind of like at a hospital where the nurses begin to ignore patient alarms because they are too frequent.
POTUS has addressed this. What’s good for the goose…
Rural central Nebraska: many in this area have decided to go back to life as it was 6 months ago. Friends and family are meeting, hugging, churches are in person (some wear masks, many don’t), schools cautiously meeting in person, masks optional but encouraged. But life can’t be quite the same for us without Husker football. That’s a bitter pill to swallow.
No college football is a rough blow. Guess we can thank the globalist cabal.
In 2 of the towns closest to me some people wear masks and some don’t. School has started in-class all around me with the exception of those damaged by Hurricane Laura a bit further east. The last time I went to town (mid August) there didn’t seem to be much shortages in the grocery stores. my husband is upset because they have stopped making Vanilla Coke other than that we don’t seem to lack anything. My neighbor’s granddaughter works in a doctor’s office, they are still only letting 5 people in at a time.
Tell hubby to add vanilla extract, to ‘regular’ coke, to taste. Problem solved.
Another miracle of the covid virus! Apperently FIVE people don’t attract it, but 6 DO?
She should suggest to the Dr that he stack canned goods around the, waiting room, cause covid doesn’t like stacked canned goods,…but apperently LOVES alcohol, and excercise equipment.
One of the first lessons you are taught in Virology 101 is, NEVER congregate in groups of more than five people!
Like 6′ is the magic #, and what is it 8 12 oz glasses of water a day?
NO scientific basis, but it ‘sounds good’I guess.
Tyrants just love arbitrary rules!
Thanks, Dutchman. He has been adding the vanilla to his coke and I think you are right about 5 being the breaking point. I did tell the county clerk to start staking groceries around polling places, that or starbuck coffee cups.
They actually had the little branch library closed for two weeks, while they ‘sanitised’ all the books and dvd’s.
bizarro-world
I think they did that around here too. Why don’t they just fill up the trucks with their sanitizer and fog everything. Sure couldn’t be any more harmful than what they use when they drive around and fog for mosquitoes. That is still done around here but I have no idea if it’s still common in other areas.
From Hitchhikers Guide, a ‘solution’ for Conservatives;
Tell the libtards “OMG, you guys a RIGHT! Global warming is going to make earth uninhabitable in like,…a few years!”
Spend a couple of Billion $ (worth EVERY penny) to build LARGE rocket ships. Load them all in, and tell them we are ALL moving to a new planet, 23 light years away, thats like a garden of eden.
We’re sending THEM in the FIRST ships, because THEY know JUST how to set up the new, egalitarian and intersectional society, and,..you know “we’ll be right behind you”,…:-)
Problem solved?
Perfect!!! 🙂
If only,….
I live in mad world of Portland Oregon -epicenter of antifa gangs and daily rioting . I am chiropractor and my clinic has remained full and many patients have sought my help for auto accidents and many other conditions. Everyone with rare exceptions wears a mask weather indoors, riding bikes, walking outside, hiking-you name it. I am able to avoid masking in stores by noting my medical condition. Very few folks are not wearing mask. Restaurants are at half capacity because of social distancing rules, etc.Bars, stores also are open with severe restrictions. Our governor and city mayor are intent on holding economy in check to stop Trump in 2020 with a weak economy. Many our moving from city -the exodus has begun. I have moved my office already out of inner city. I will move home soon.
Pennsylvania continues to restrict activity. The Governor again extended his emergency declaration for another 90 days. Legislative attempts to end the restrictions have failed. Restaurants are limited to 25% capacity. No alcohol can be served unless it is accompanied by a meal. Indoor gatherings are limited to 25 and outdoor gatherings to 250. Everyone is supposed to wear a mask when exiting their homes.
Everyone and their Uncle are at the Jersey Shore … ???????
Especially NY and PA
?
[[[Don’t ? Tread ? On ? NJ]]]

Is the media blaming the Governor or PDJT for the restrictions?
North suburbs of Pittsburgh. All of what you say is true. But Wolf and the dems are starting to feel the pressure. People are just tired of this crap and want to get on with their lives. I am sensing a big swing in opinion lately. Traffic is nearly back to normal, most people are back to work if they still have a job. People are beginning to realize if you want any of your freedoms back you have better vote GOP in November. Sensible precautions for vulnerable, let everyone else take the risks they want. Open the schools, close the nursing homes- not the reverse. Yea, a lot of people very upset over way too many school choosing to be online and not in person. Do you want fall sports in school? Wolf said no but the PIAA just ignored him and said yes by a vote of 25-5. School and sports are a huge issue and the dems are suffering big time because of their stance. Fans in the stands? Everyone in PA saw all those high school games on ESPN from Utah, Texas, Alabama, etc where they had fans. So last week the state house passed a bill allowing each school to decide if and how many fans to allow- it passed 155-47, 20 votes over a veto proof majority. Dems caved on this issue. Still fell 15 votes short of overriding Wolf’s extension of the emergency order, but there were 9 dem defections. Dems going to get killed in November, especially in rural areas. Anyone who thinks PA is even a little in play in this election is out of touch, Trump will triple his margin from 2016.
Shopping at the feed stores with two big shepherds on a brace leash who think it is an audition for lead sled dog. 6 foot distancing is not an issue, and no one has mentioned the mask subject.
Exercise walkers/joggers/bicyclists/horseback riders in the community are 95% maskless, grandma feels like the mask is an annoyance, adult grandkids don’t wear them around family, and NPR/CNN devote’s are STARTING to question the legitimacy of the pandemic narrative (we are loyal to a fault up here)
Shepards don’t make sled dogs…Ask any musher… But, cross breeds can run…. Teach them “Ho” and “Chi” going down the aisls….ought to give you some interesting meetings.
Enjoy….check-6.
OK Mel, I’ll be sure to pass your comments on to my pups, who, by the way, were born with full black masks which makes them superior to their paler faced competition in the conformation ring.
Sounds nice… Give ’em extra chunk of fish with their “soup”…. Don’t feed the heads unless you have cured them of Salmon fever now, as pup’s… very deadly….from the brains/Prion’s… Ask an Indian about the “little bit” cure early in life…then, never worry again… Remain upright…
R your ? s wearing mask?
I have been watching the Covid numbers decline in GA. Here are the numbers today: cases 612, Deaths 7, and hospitalizations 15.
Great news. This isn’t an isolated day, they have been going down steadily.
Gwinnett County GA here. I see less masks these days and haven’t had any issues as I haven’t worn one and don’t plan to. I “social” distance with all when shopping and such, non-maskers will generally give a wink and a nod to each other. Schools are opening on some kind of schedule, but they ARE opening. School bus wakes me up every morning now…;) I have taken the advice of Sundance and let all see my smile and I speak words of friendliness and happiness. I does not go unnoticed. I get the same in return! I agree that THIS is what we need more than a mask! 🙂
Central Jersey just started letting 25% for inside dining. I have not been to a restaurant since March (My wife has diabetes). I was not going to eat outside in 90% humidity. I am an essential worker so I have not experienced joblessness, but my son and son in law, both in IT, lost their jobs. Last Friday was the first day I got stuck in rush hour traffic since March.
Buffalo, NY and suburbs are textbook example of SHEEPLE USA on display. Almost everyone wearing face diapers.
Many while walking in parking lots. Alone in cars. Tending to their outside shrubbery. Riding a bicycle.
There is just so much virus floating around out in that air/sarc.
I still haven’t donned a mask. Been getting by with a clear face shield, compliments of another treeper’s post maybe a month ago on the Open Thread:
http://www.instashieldusa.com
A 5 pack was a little over $21, delivered in 3 days in a flat envelope that should not be delayed in the current package delivery slow down occurring at the USPS (*).
They fold up and slip over the visor of a baseball hat or hardhat. So far I have worn mine on my Trump 2020, as well as 2 others.
(*) IMO this is a deliberate slowdown in response to the the Post Master General cutting out OT. Not going to elaborate (off topic)
They are definitely sandbagging it. It took 12 days for a letter to go from Houston TX to Cincinnati OH. 12 freaking days.
Speaking of Cincinnati, it’s a shame the public school, inner city kids are not allowed to play sports, while all of Catholic and private schools are.
I sent a check in payment of credit card to the western part of my state (NC) from the eastern part of the state where I live. I know for a fact it didn’t make it to it’s destination for ONE WHOLE MONTH – 30 freaking days.
Love your avatar name. I’m in Sacramento Commiefornia and nobody has any balls to resist this scam mask hysteria. I was kicked out of two stores today, about an hour ago, in fact. Staples and Rite-Aid (like Walgreen’s).
I’m trying to form a group who is willing to enter a store in unison without scam masks and go about their shopping in order to force the store management to confront us. It’s not about bullying or torturing store employees. It’s about doing something, as a group, that cannot be stopped. This mask scam is proving that you cannot depend on your fellow citizen anymore. Everyone feels like he is alone and that’s precisely what the scam architects want.
The clear face shields are far better than the face burkhas. Here in blueMA, several towns northwest of Boston and Cambridge, I appear to be the only one who has discovered them, outside of a couple young grocery checkout clerks from whom I got the idea. (I suspect that most sheeple here are too scared even to be that daring.)
They are also very good surfaces for my labelmaker messages. And I can speak, smile, and breathe. Far less dehumanizing. And I can’t get groceries or go to the gym without them.
Not to say that they aren’t clownish and 100% unnecessary. But blueMA is frozen in RINO Charlie Baker’s virtue-signaling record-unemployment amber. Nothing has changed for weeks. A brief loosening of the outdoor restriction on number of people led to Charlie’s Summer of No Fun and what I suspect is a gold mine of “revenue enhancement”: a $500 fine for any homeowner with 11 people present where not everyone down to the age of 2 is wearing a diaper. By this time my music group was hoping to have a pleasant home concert in my big back yard, but no, still limited to tiny under-10 events.
I will not sing in a mask!
Friends with duos are getting the rare outdoor restaurant gig here and there. One such duo made themselves plexiglass shields on stands (one of them is a covid-crazy, thinks it’s everywhere even in open air). They still sounded good, as ever, but what an Orwellian moment watching them…
I’m in the dictatorship of California…Central Coast. Masks to shop still, statewide requirement. Some outside dining. Finally going to try our pool tomorrow, with restrictions. My salon has been open on a bootleg basis, so not a lot of difference. Personally, I have chronic insomnia and constant headaches…so tired of this crap! Still angry and want my rights back. Heat wave is over now, and no power outages or fires, luckily.
I’m a red dot in a sea of leftists her in Columbia SC. I’m sure a lot you saw the news clip about an overcrowded bar near the university. Someone posted it on the neighborhood FB page (only thing I use FB for) and most comments were Karen like remarks towards the kids. I commented they probably read the state DHEC page and saw that the youngest death In the county was 37. So party on! Needless to say it was deleted by the moderators. They only allow covid fear porn comments. So many have been scared of positive reports without acknowledging deaths and hospitalizations are way down.
I really hate to hear that the capital of my home state has gone majority chickensh*t, bullnuke. Dayum. I know USC is there, but really!!!
I hope Greenville, SC, is more rational (my hometown).
The upstate is a strong republican area. Richland and Charleston counties both went for Clinton last election.
Galveston County Texas. …..Why did we shut down? more people died of other causes than Covid. 10% Confirmed cases, pop 327,000 144 deaths. We border galveston bay, should NOT have shut down. Big outdoor, restaurant, and shopping community adjacent to NASA and Houston Down town. We committed economic suicide.
Murder, not suicide.
its suicide if you go along willingly ;). I work for the largest Inv Bank in America (world name starts with a ‘J’) and we have mandated training on this crap (going back to the office), that are nothing but Propaganda. We have to fill out a form and have our temperature taken EVERYDAY if we need to go into the office. Or you can fill out a form to say you’re taking care of a “vulnerable ” person and work from home. I will not be going back to the office to subject myself to stupid procedures and those that do, should be fired for stupidity. I’ll be taking care of my ‘vulnerable’ relative.
Being recently retired and living in relative isolation on the PA/DE line don’t have too much to add.
Traffic is not fully back up to its usual heavy load on weekdays on main thoroughfares but it’s not like during early lockdown when the superhighways were deserted and they weren’t even giving traffic reports on the radio. The majority of stores are all open but all require masks to visit in person. A number of businesses, especially banks, require calling in for appointments before allowing visits, which is a PIIA. In suburban areas less masks are visible when people are walking about, but I still see too many masks worn when there’s no necessity. In cars sometimes, even. Parks, especially ‘wild’ parks without any structured playing fields or playgrounds, no masks at all, no social distancing.
Just my personal observation, but the amount of social distancing and wearing of masks seems to have an inverse relationship to personal wealth and education, and to some extent ethnicity; poor people and POCs few or no masks or SDing, the more well off, the more of both. Especially distressing is the high percentage of suburban and urban middle and upper class young people wearing masks everywhere indoors and out as if not doing so will result in immediate agonizing death. I can understand it with older people, especially those with poor health. But with the young and healthy? I guess it’s the constant drumming into their heads that it’s worse than the Black Death, and worse by not complying 100% at all times you’re condemning everyone around you to certain death, and worst of all, to not wear masks is RACIST, because black people in America have a demonstrably higher mortality rate than whites.
I fear the masks have become a fashion statement.
Rural NW PA county, 37 cases, 1 fatality. Masks wearing is about 60%, which surprises me. Have yet to an Amish person wear one and the Amish are plentiful.
Saw a meme that said the Amish have not been affected by the virus because they don’t have TV.?
I love that! Probably have the best dispositions of us all too!
Wisconsin is basically open except Milwaukee and Madison strongly democratic. Most people believe it is a hoax although they have managed to scare the crap out of the young. Stores, church’s and restaurant s all open but suggested distance and masks.
I will confirm this about Wisconsin. I have yet to put on a mask and nobody has questioned me about it.
Central North Carolina. Rural county. Trump country except for our lone municipality.
Before Dictator Cooper decreed masks mandatory a few months ago, things were mostly normal out here in the country. Some masks. Businesses doing what they could to keep the bureaucrats from shutting them down. Since the decree, everyone started wearing masks – people really do think this is a law. Weird.
County Sheriff has said repeatedly he will not enforce any of Governor’s orders. County and city regulators and bureaucrats are out in force intimidating business owners who are just trying to keep their heads above water.
I, nor my immediate family of 14, have not worn masks from the beginning. No push back from any businesses I enter. Our church remains open in worship.
I do not watch any TV or cable but from the little exposure I have. I can see why people are scared. All media is evil.
The good news is that each day I see less masks. Exception is when I go to Raleigh and Charlotte urbanization zones. The upper class liberals are full of pride in their conformance. But even there – no push back from business when I enter without a mask.
Reporting from Killer Cuomo’s NY, the suburbs about 50 miles north of the City. It’s been a beautiful summer that pretty much ended today with just magnificent weather. We had a lot more freedom than just a few months ago, but no matter how good the Covid stats are, the mask mandate is stronger than ever.
In the tourist town where I live, the liberal freaks from Westchester and NYC were in full muzzles no matter how hot and humid it got. On any given day I was literally the only person walking down our busy Main St. without a mask. Today, Labor Day, even more pronounced. My fellow shopkeepers are all Mask Nazis and won’t let people in without muzzles. Even me!
You have to wear a mask to get into most every store, especially the Big Boxes. My local deli lets me go in without a mask but he’s not thrilled- worried about getting a fine.
Big deal that NOBODY is talking about: our local state, town and county governments are still more or less locked down worse than anyplace. No public meetings, everything is Zoom. My town hall is like a prison, you have to make an appointment to get in and wear a full mask. Worst of all THE COURTS ARE CLOSED.
Why the hell aren’t people talking about this?? It affects everyone, yet there is no rush to reopen the halls of government. And boy do they love it. They are doing all their dirty work under cover of darkness. Of course none of the bastards who work for The Government who told us incorrectly that WE had to shut down and lose our livelihood have lost so much as a dollar
The biggest deal of all is the schools reopening. It is a complete disaster around here. Teachers continue to dominate and are getting paid for doing nothing. Schools are delayed opening and mostly online “learning” with minimal in person classes K- 12. Parents are going nuts.
New York City is a horror show compared to us. Restaurants are still not allowed indoor dining thanks to the two Stalinists Killer Cuomo and DelAssholio, neither of whom will agree to let them reopen. Then there’s been the riots, the looting, the killings, the boarded up stores and businesses, the homeless bums and thugs. I can’t see Manhattan ever coming back in my lifetime.
Now we know for sure, the CDC admits it, that very few people actually died FROM Chi Com Covid, like less than 9%. The tests are being manipulated and mean nothing except an excuse to keep the illegal orders in place. Our wonderful state Legislature gave Killer Cuomo unlimited power till next April. The election here will be all mail in and a complete fraud. Taxes are going up, up up and people are leaving by the thousands. We are praying and working for our President Trump’s re-election.
“”They are doing all their dirty work under cover of darkness. “”
True – so very true everywhere Seneca. Thanks for the update. Brooklyn is my home town and even though our family left decades ago, never ever did I think it would fall this far.
I have been up in the NC mountains for a while. The whole family came up for a week too. The rural counties are mostly sane, but the tourist towns are as you describe in NY. We just rolled on in to shops and restaurants, 14 strong, whereever we wanted – no masks and lots of laughter. Sadly, at mass in Asheville the entire congregation and staff freaked out and scrambled to accommodate us. Then we suffered through a lecture from a young priest on how needed to vote in support of BLM and the fight against racism.
Dangerous times.
I went to a car dealership in Brooklyn yesterday and walked in without a mask: the girl at the front desk had her mask pulled down under her chin so I figured what the hey.
But within a minute she was ordering me to put on a mask. I patiently explained to her that I was medically cleared by Lenox Hill Hospital (true), but it didn’t get through her thick skull. So I put one of the stupid things on and went to a sales desk and sat down. Then took off the mask, because I saw at least 3 people not wearing them.
Then the sales guy, Hispanic fellow, came over to his desk to talk to me, and boggled when he saw I was MASKLESS. “Excuse me, you have to put your mask on here,” he said. “Oh, I don’t have one. I’ve been medically cleared.” [WHICH ACTUALLY IS A VALID EXCEPTION TO THE STALINIST DECREES.] He said he’d get me one and bustled away.
Comes back to his desk, still bothered: with a large black man in tow, his boss, who looks like, no kidding, DARTH VADER with his ultra-elaborate mask/filtration facegear. “You look like Darth Vader!” I grinned. They said they didn’t have any masks, so I said, with some annoyance, “Okay, in that case,” and gathered my pocketbook to leave. “Rafael,” the sales guy, walked me out. He ended up showing me the car I was interested on the sidewalk, but you know….
LEPERS
…aren’t allowed to actually get IN the car and go for a f****ing test drive. So I left. What a PITA.
Also, the woman who had called me and set up the appointment wasn’t even there; she was “working from home.” No one at the dealership knew what to do with me. Talk about bait and switch. Brooklyn Chrysler Jeep Dodge etc. out on Flatbush Ave.
Upstate is not any better. Face diapers all over the place. One discussion overheard was as soon as Biden is elected he will END the pandemic with an EO…..I can’t believe these people are that stupid.
COVID-19 talk is slowing down with big emphasis now on the “deprived black community” – ANTIFA and BLM. Wait till they get out of the inner city and hit the well-to-do white suburbs.
H&HC- I don’t know how far upstate you are. My liberal (breaks my heart) son lives up in Schenectady area and that seems about 50/50 with the masks. Not as bad as where I am.
Also, one good thing that I have noticed in July and especially August, is that there is a tremendous pent up demand for brick and mortar shopping. People have really had enough of the onine BS.
For those of us who were able to keep our Main Street shops afloat, August was a fantastic month. We still have a lot to make up for which for many is about 3 lost months.
Too bad about your liberal son. I’ve disowned two daughters and a couple cousins……cuts down on postage for birthday and Christmas cards……….
H&HC- how do you handle grandchildren of these adult children, if any?
Since I want to have relationships with all my grand kids, and their parents are political idiots, I made up my mind not to talk politics with them.
That being said- I have ditched many former friends who have massive TDS. You’re right- makes it easier when it comes to birthdays and holidays.
Fortunately the grandkids are all old enough to vote. Unfortunately, stupidity is hereditary in some instances (not from “my” side!). As you, I don’t discuss politics with them. When they do say something STUPID or borderline TDS I merely smile and say “Bless your Heart” and walk away. I have neither the time or patience to suffer fools – even those related to me.
Here’s an update from Killer Cuomo. There are now 34 states that are on the mandatory quarantine list for NY.
https://dailyvoice.com/new-york/putnam/news/covid-19-travelers-from-four-states-added-to-nynjct-quarantine-list/793843/
Northern Virginia, in the far western edge of the swamp, 30+ miles outside the beltway. EVERYONE wears a mask…and I mean everyone. Where are the rebels? Not a dang one here. Restaurants at 50%…Karen’s everywhere. Virginia will go to Biden, reference the high number of Karen’s and the fact that everyone complies. Except me…I just don’t participate…I still curbside pick up all my groceries. Don’t want to deal with the stares, glares, and commentary from the Karen’s so I don’t go anywhere anymore. All the fun has been sucked out of life.
We drove from WV (our home) to Sky Meadows near Paris, VA, for a day hike. The park has 1,100+ acres, yet the rangers were only allowing 50 cars to park, packed into the lower lot, instead of spread out, which went against their own “logic.” We wanted to park near the heart of the park, nearer to the trail heads, but a ranger was blocking it. Absurd people. We turned around, got our entrance fee back (which they initially refused to do), then left.
Another Saturday we drove to Harpers Ferry, which was open, but crossed the footbridge into MD to take the MD Heights trail. Normally, we would park closer to the trail head on the MD side, but either MD Gov. Hogan or the Park Service blocked the parking areas with giant concrete barriers to discourage travelers. They also had a crossing arm blocking the entrance to the trailhead, but everyone just went right around to access the trail. Again, silly people to block those parking notches!
Some folks with masks, which was surprising considering the open air, sunshine, and distance of the hikers. Most were sane, though, and went along the trail like any other pre-2020 day.
I am right down the road from you. Broadlands.
Yeah, we are “NoVa” now…. EVERYONE is compliant to the force, temp taking. Loudoun County has changed from Solid Red in 1997 to medium blue in 2000.
I DO obediently wear my mask when I see my 97 yo daddy at Ashby Ponds so he feels comfy. He wears his and we complain and whimper, but obey. His community is a privately owned very expensive Erickson community. They are planning on opening their 6 dining venues this week. That place is huge now. I believe in all, they have had ?? Confirmed cases, but I do know they had 9 deaths in the long term care facility
I wear my stupid horrible mask to stores that require. Here in No Va everyone is doing what they are told, very obedient bunch of slobs we are here….
Not ONE restaurant is suffering, we get carry out, delivery etc Everyone is helping keep our favorite places above water. Hey, we do not have any cleaning supplies readily available but the restaurants are cranking out the goodies. Thank you, Lord!!
Schools are all opening today but I do believe 95% of kids are doing online communication with the schools. Some special needs will probably go in, and I hear something about using the schools as day care for essential workers ? Also two libraries are being used for day care centers for county employees
My oldest grand girl starts kindergarten
Cases have been low according to area reports
Loudoun County, now part of the DC suburbs, is usually always crowded with traffic all the time, so I personally have enjoyed the less traffic on the roads.
Northern Virginia dept of transportation has been getting unbelievable amounts of huge road projects done in the mean time… over the past 6 months! I have been driving around, exercising the cars (hubbs had heart surgery, but he is fully recovered now) and I have enjoyed watching the massive progress on Rt 66 south of us.
My daddy reads the Wash Compost, he read some article some dope wrote about how this is going to be our future….. I am pretty sure they blamed it all of our great President Trump.
I lived in Broadlands from ’97 to ’05 just off Claiborne Parkway within spitting distance of the Greenway, so know what you’re talking about. I’m in far west Prince William County now. My district trends SLIGHT red…but barely. This election is scaring me…the outcome and aftermath that is. Riots are guaranteed no matter who wins: President Trump wins they will riot because “Orange Man Bad”; Hidin’ Biden wins, they will riot because now they know they can get away with it. I’m sick of it all. This $hit needs to end…NOW. I’m sick of seeing this beautiful country being run into the ground by useless politicians and their self righteous followers who don’t even know what they’re fighting about.
70 or so clicks N. Of Seattle here: everyone but me it seems is a compliant mask wearing sheep in my conservatively minded and voting town.
We had one token BLM protest consisting of about 100 of the local community colleges idiots… err I meant students almost 100% white BTW.
I wish people weren’t so scientifically illiterate, constitutionally illiterate and historically illiterate : sigh.
Went fishing today and noticed there and back that life was busy, people coming and going as usual. Commerce was on full force despite it being Labour day. I only notice covid when I see the odd person in a mask, or when I go to the store and there are stickers all over the floor that people completely ignore. Here in BC, despite having a socialist provincial government, we have pretty much worked through the summer with few restrictions. Where I notice it most though is with our local church. Strangely, church services are still hot beds of Covid19, super spreaders even. But given the weak-kneed state of the church here in BC, not a whimper can be heard! But of course protests and sporting events are exempt. Christianity in Canada will be very fortunate if it survives. But other wise life seems, almost normal. Supply chain is fine and prices stable.
Here in Marin, north of SF we’re for the first time getting to go to beauty salons after Labor day! Before they were having to sneak into people’s homes or have “parties” in people’s back yard. Restaurants have all been take out except for those that can manage to put a few tables on the side walks. Fires, smoke and electricity cutoffs have distracted from the Covid panic a lot–especially the electricity issue. Also the issue of Pelosi getting her hair done while the peasants haven’t has been increasingly publicized and people have actually demonstrated in front of her house in SF. To add insult to injury, gyms that have been struggling and trying to open have just found out that that gyms in government buildings have been open for 2 months! That’s not going over well with the owners or the people. So the natives are definitely getting restless and with these other issues piling up with the kids all still at home–no one is happy. We met some college basketball coaches from SoCal who did a lot of recruiting and they said that a lot of promising HS players had left the state and gone to other states where school was in session so they could play.
If I were on the ground there, the moment anyone mentioned Pelousy’s debacle to me, the first thing I would say is, “Well, let’s vote her out!”
Presumably it’s a pipe dream – but as PDJT says, “What have you got to lose?”
Is she running unopposed? Is there someone for a write-in campaign?
It’s amazing here in the Northern Panhandle of West Virginia. Trump signs, car parades, and the local GOP chapters can’t keep Trump signs in stock. I drive around the area here from Moundsville to Weirton, and over to St. Clairsville, Ohio. I go around the Pittsburgh area some, but not a lot. I’ve seen one Biden bumper sticker. Lost count of the Trump signs and stickers. I’m told there was a Facebook page created for local Tri-Vally (Ohio/WV/PA) Trump support and there’s thousands that joined in a few days. Day or so after it was created, a Biden page was created. It had a few hundred. I’m not sure if it’s still there.
Most restaurants around here are almost back to normal. Yeah, staff are still wearing masks (i feel bad for them), but you don’t get bothered about not wearing one. The signs are posted on the front doors that masks are required, but not enforced. The major difference between a few weeks ago and now is that the restaurants I’ve been in lately are working at 100% seating. No more limited seating. A good start.
I have no doubt WV will go for Trump. The Ohio area around us will go for Trump. Looking at Pittsburgh … I’d guess it just might go for Trump. I remember seeing Clinton stickers and signs on the previous election. I still haven’t seen a Biden sign in any yard, yet. I’m sure there are some out here, but it’s nowhere near the support level that Pittsburgh showed Clinton. Maybe someone from Pittsburgh can chime in.
There’s one thing throughout that really bothered me. The number of people wearing masks. A good bit. Far, far too many. This is the number of people who blindly follow along and it’s too great a number. I even see a lot of parents putting masks on their young (under 10) kids. Lib/Dem fear/terror tactics worked. Something to remember.
Mark- thanks for your report. What bothers me is that I assume most of the muzzle wearing a-holes are Biden supporters.
I don’t think they are. I think a good bit are Trump supporters but just don’t want to run afoul of the law. They hear the governors and see the signs and just don’t want to cause a scene so they wear the mask. I think most really are “sheeple” and blindly do what they are told by the gov’t. It’s why having the right people in local and state governments is important, especially in the courts.
Just a few things to add. Handgun ammo around here is hard to come by. Shotgun, yes. Some rifle. But not handgun. Even in-stock firearms are low. Had a Rural King that received 4 (I think) Armscor VR80s. Gone in half a day. I look for ARs in stock but haven’t found a store yet with them.
There was a huge buying spree recently. I’ve been looking for land in the area. I had about 7 or 8 that I looked at. From June to July, they were there. Starting in August, everything started selling. Going over asking price. Only 1 of those 8 pieces of land remains. It’s been crazy here.
There’s an RV/camper store here. You usually see the large lot stocked full. Yesterday when I drove by it, it was almost empty. I’ve never seen it like that. I wanted to stop to ask why but was busy. Maybe this week.
Same here in SW Ohio. The giant RV lots are empty. I’m guessing is a whole lotta folks are seeing their newly acquired RV/Motorhomes as escape pods. I know I see my newly purchased Winnebago that way. Paid cash for an oldie but a goodie so no loan to call…
Interesting what you said about the FaceBook page.
Here in blueMA I was invited to a _private_ FB group (doubt it’s much better than a regular one, but none of my posts have been taken down so far) called Massachusetts Women for Trump.
I joined about 2 weeks ago and it was under 5,000. Today it’s grown to almost 7,000.
In blueMA that’s very encouraging. Won’t flip MA or anything, but it shows some of the iceberg under the surface… It also shows how things are changing and solidifying rapidly now…
Smallish town north of Dallas. Restaurants at 50%. Most stores “require” masks but don’t stop people who aren’t wearing them. No masks required in church, nor worn for the most part except some elderly. Teachers and students must wear masks all day.
Generally, most people wearing masks inside buildings, remove immediately upon exiting. Overall opinion seems to be that is is the considerate thing to do, to help prevent the vulnerable from being infected or from worrying about it. Most people don’t seem overly concerned for themselves.
Have not yet seen a Karen yelling at people who aren’t. Small towns in Texas really aren’t the kind of place that happens much.
There was a peaceful march a few months back that was completely uneventful. On the one hand I think most people of any race here were concerned over the video of the officer kneeling on Floyd’s neck so long. On the other hand, try to destroy anyone’s property and you will get killed. It is 100% legal to kill someone to prevent loss of life of yourself or another, serious injury to yourself or another, and property damage “during criminal mischief at nightime”
Silicon Valley, Santa Clara County, Morgan Hill CA. We never quit living our daily lives since March 22, kept our business open the entire time even though SCC was the first county to close in the country. We have found truth in ‘living your best life’ and how this can impact others in a positive way! Have been on planes a few times visiting out of state family. The freeways are back to gridlock during the commute hours. No indoor dining but its ‘summer’ and eating outside is nice. Stores are all open, everyone is required to wear a mask going into a building and most take them off when they get out side. Kids still locked out of school and people in facilities or residential care homes still locked indoors! Getting outside as much as possible and being positive.
Was in SC for awhile, masks not manditory but most are wearing them in the major retail outlets. But some small restaurants seem to be unrestricted.
Came back to Atl, GA and suddenly face diapers are mandatory at the local Kroger. Its an odd shift in policy because they didn’t require them before. So why the sudden change? Mind you most were voluntarily wearing masks before. I live in a 98% black area of town. I only mention this because demographics might shed light.
Ventura County, CA. 50/50 sheep/non sheep. Still seeing people every single day in cars alone with masks on. It still makes me laugh and shake my head. Sad part is that many that I talk to that see the BS continue to just play along hoping it will just end soon. No one is fighting back save a church or gym or two. All stores are vigilant about the masks and nasty about it. Everyone wants to be a good little citizen and please the nice politicians and virtue signal. Needless to say, we pretty much keep to ourselves and make our home a nice place to ride the coming storm out.
Trying to get by in Northern VA, 16 miles southwest of the swamp. Last week an elderly man asked me in the Post Office, “Where is your mask?” I replied that I don’t wear one (at least in the Post Office). A woman ahead of me in line asked me if I would like a mask from the supply she was carrying. I replied, “No, thanks.” It was a total freeze in the post office from that point on. The clerk who waited on me, who has asked me previously why I don’t wear a mask, said not one word to me despite my greetings and salutations cheerfully offered.
My husband was triggered by a client who seemed reasonable and friendly and knowledgeable on the phone, and then pulled up with a Biden bumper sticker on her car.
Not many Trump signs in our area. We put out the American flag and the Marine Corps flag every day, weather permitting. (Our youngest son graduated boot camp at Parris Island in May, and he requested that we hang the Marine Corps flag.) If people don’t understand that we support our President, well, it’s on them.
Our public schools are virtual. All the soccer moms — Karens — the ones who proudly put out the “Hate has no home here” signs in their front yard, are strangely silent.
I want NORMAL, not the “new normal”.
Here in SWFL we are doing great. Absolutely NO Covid in our community and only one death in our entire zip code since the Chinese plague started. Many places still require masks, but we lead normal lives pretty much. Governor DeSantis is a good guy.
Moving to SWFL soon. Can’t wait!
Saluda, Hendersonville, North Carolina (Mountains of North Carolina) Life is gradually returning to some normality. Senior center activities are normal with people not wearing masks inside during activities. (Center has installed UVC lights in A/C system to give more confidence to Seniors) Tourism (Lodging, Kayaking, Hiking, and Zip lines) are at capacity with many visitors from Florida and South Carolina. Box stores still have their mask signs posted but many people are just walking in and ignoring the signs or wearing mask under nose or on chin. Weather is Beautiful with the arrival of Fall temperatures this week. Trump Signs are going up with no sign of Biden signs from known Democrats.
NYers giving the finger to Cuck-mo and DUMBlasio. Seeing more people without masks. Many restaurants outside of NYC are open with indoor seating (following sfacim’s guidelines). I see TRUMP 2020 signs and flags everywhere. NY is getting red-pilled.
Remember the A La Mode Review” to “WuFlu Bat Stew News for You” > series of six reports from Rallies in Dallas, Austin > https://LawfulGovernment.com > reports from Chad Prager, Yellow Rose GOP, Williamson County MAGA rally. The Eagle Forum, Conroe on Aug 04, 2020 > three GOP doctors support HCQ, oppose lockdown, masks, distancing, tracing and voodoo vaccination.
Mike DeWine is not very popular right now in OH. We are required to wear a mask in stores but I am ignoring that directive. So far, no one has asked me to leave yet. I don’t have to go into an office anymore and that looks to be for the foreseeable future. I’m fine with that. I will crawl over broken glass to vote MAGA in November.
Fellow Ohioan…. I ignore it until I can’t – there are some stores that don’t care, but I have to eat and I have to shop for necessities so there’s really no choice there. I have to wear one at work, too – no way around it. I should be exempt since I already had/recovered from the virus….
LA California. Went in a jewelry store without a mask. Said I did not have a mask. They gave me a mask. We came to an agreement and they needed a deposit. I parked in front of the store the next day and had them come out to my vehicle to get my deposit.
bertdilbert, I have an 85 year old dad that can save you some money! Still running his jewelry business here in Ga.! 😉
Really? Where in Georgia?
I’m in Hartwell, on the lake.
abigailstraight, Office is in Chamblee area at I-285. He was the manager at Citizens (Northlake) many years ago. Many know him in the Southeast. Opened his own business when I was a teen. (I’m 59+ now) ;). We have friends at Hartwell, beautiful area and lake!
Thanks I’ll research! … In my free time as a retiree…LOL!!
Yes, indeed Lake Hartwell is beautiful and we were very fortunate years ago to have this opportunity open up to us and take a step in the right direction.
Many Thanks abigailstraight! I would gladly spell it out but don’t want to break any Treehouse rules! If Ad Rem has an answer for me, I will certainly take that advice!
Thanks; got it!
Expect an email shortly…..
Thank you VERY much Ad rem! And abigailstraight, we all just call him Pops! 😉
Calm here. People wear mask when entering store generally. I do sometimes and other times not. In a restaurant, if they won’t serve you with out you coming in w one, well then I do. I don’t do it in the food store and have been challenged once (I have a legit reason due to lung breathing issues w a mask for any long period). But for a short 5 min, I don’t need a hassle. But I haven’t really seen much in the way of hassle from or to anyone — live in a suburb (law and order), pretty conservative area.
My current Covid Status is that I’m sick of hearing about Covid. I’m tired of living in the land of the highly obedient and the home of the easily intimidated. I’m pretty sure that’s not what the Revolutionary War was about.
OFFCOURSE, I love your comment so much.
Like button never works for me.
“Land of the Highly Obedient and Easily Intimidated”
What a great snarky retort. And sadly true.
Suburb of Atlanta. My grandkids who attend Christian schools ( 3 different schools) are all attending in person. Younger kids who stay in same classroom all day only have to wear masks when in the hallways. Older kids who change classes wear masks all day. All schools have frequent cleanings, lots of hand sanitizing stations, and acrylic panels in close contact areas. So far no covid breakouts or quaratines. For my husband and I life is pretty normal. I am volunteering daily in the younger kids’ school and my husband is coaching our grandson’s youth soccer team. Two granddaughters are playing school sports. No masks during the games but spectators are limited. (but for jv girls volleyball -LOL- if the number of permitted spectators actually showed up it would be an increase over normal times.). Governor Kemp who in the past did not allow cities to pass mask mandates backed off of that. So at the end of August our city passed one. Nearly everyone wears a mask in stores and on public property. Very few people are wearing a mask when outside and I am seeing more and more outside gatherings. Our church is meeting in person but with social distance seating (so about 25% capacity) and masks are required. Everything seems be to back in stock in stores except for wipes. Restaurants are open but are still required to keep parties 6 feet apart so that means 50% capacity for most places. We have been eating out regularly since the restaurants first opened back up in April and now there are times when we actually have to wait for a table. That is a very good sign. Traffic has picked up and we now are back to some delays but not quite at the level as before. So for us, things are just about normal. But we do have neighbors – late 50’s to early 60’s- who still have not ventured out and when given a choice between in person school or digital for their kids – they have chosen digital.
No reason at all to keep schools closed, to even suggest mail in voting, or to not have sports, etc.
Sauk County, Wisconsin.
Public and parochial schools are pretty much all open as of tomorrow. Some are 5 days a week, some are 2 or 3 depending on school district and Parental Involvement!
Grocery, hardware and farm/home stores are *mostly* well stocked. They all hide behind Guvnr Evers directive to wear masks, but most are past giving folks a hard time if they walk in with a bare nose. Police and deputy sheriffs plenty busy with ordinary policing to think much about who is wearing or not.
Weather is good. Crops everywhere seem to be maturing well.
Culver’s is always busy. Wisconsin Dells is kinda busy, but the big water parks are/have closed early for the season.
Hospitals and medical centers slow; minimal Covid-19 caseload. Other Covid 19 numbers seem to echo national trends. People just want it to go away.
Many more Trump signs, in cities, villages and rural roads. The occasional Biden/Democrat signs. Two active Republican/Trump 2020 campaign offices open most afternoons.
I’ve never seen firearms and ammo so completely low/out of stock. Everything.
.22lr, .223, deer and larger game, handgun, shotgun…All hard to come by.
As are canning supplies.
If you drive almost anywhere outside city/village limits, stop and listen; you’ll often hear small arms target practice.
For now, doesn’t seem like a real effort to sanction Guvnr Evers, yet. Likely will come after Nov. 3. Conservative state legislature has him on a short leash, esp. after his inexplicable delay in calling in National Guard to Kenosha. Lots of folks realize his leading from behind set the stage for Kyle Rittenhouse being forced to shoot those trying to kill him.
In my part of Wisconsin the golf courses are packed, the shooting ranges are packed, the parks are all busy. Most people realize the governors mandates have no teeth.
Northern WY here. My counties covid count was something like 12 cases, 0 deaths until tourist season. Now its at 175 confirmed cases and 1 death….which was someone from out of state. I supposed it could be worse, but if theyre going to put out vague statistics, they should also include the age, where they live, and the gender of those who are infected.
Except for the few chain stores like walmart, the other shops dont care about the maskings, and Ive seen more and more people got to walmart sans masks since they imposed the edict..
Our RINO gov has been talking about contact tracers, and forced quarantines for those who may have been exposed, but I think that is just bluster since a majority of people wont comply and I believe you have to download an app to be contacted. Kids are back at school with little grumbling from the teachers union, and so far there hasnt been the outbreaks the karens were worked up about.
What they should include with the COVID death count is what underlying diseases the deceased was also inflicted with and for how long. (MHOO) CDC has reported that only 6% of reported deaths were due to COVID-19 alone. IOW, 94% of COVID-19 reported deaths were not solely due to the Wuhan Flu, but the person also had heart disease, diabetes, lung or COPD, obesity or other causes of death. Whatever happened to all those dying from vaping last fall? IMWTK
I live in Wyoming too. Our local rag did mention there were co morbidities with each or most, so called covid deaths. I may have missed one or two, but I don’t believe the numbers anyway. Hospital is empty. Nurses are being let go. It’s been no big threat since late spring, like flu and colds every year of our lives.
The great majority of our wuflu deaths in Wyoming ( under 40 I believe, 37? ) were from the reservation population and the nursing home near the reservation. This is a very obvious stat never mentioned in any of the reports I’ve seen, for any of the states. And yet it is there.
Blue State in NE:
Masks still necessary for grocery stores and other locales. Gyms are closed and some school districts are using “Remote Learning” only, while others give a choice between Remote or Classroom experience.
If you go to a park NO ONE wears a mask.
a lot of times I forget it exists, then I see brain dead people driving alone in their cars wearing mask.
At this point we know that the seasonal flu is more dangerous than this new virus. it was promoted by the media and amplified by trickery and lies. Most if not all of the measures taken seem to be more harmful than anything else. It is just another way to divide people and force them to bend the knee.
I know there are lots of brainwashed people who don’t dare ever question what they see on “The News” , they want to believe that these democrats represent the fantasy they created in their head from watching their favorite TV news personality of Hollywood figure make it up as they sew their seeds of Hate. Some actually believe the democrats are for the people! So they wear a mask to show their allegiance to the people that also hate them.
it’s long past time to give up the ghost and for them to admit it was not what they predicated (or led to believe)
The post-election chaos, which is coming, should wake them up once and for all, or prove they are beyond help.
November and December are likely to make the rest of 2020 so far look like a picnic.
But I remain of good cheer and of hope.
PDJT will be President in 2021 and four more years of the good fight will give us back a Republic – if we can keep it.
Chester Co, SE PA.
Friday went out to the local park to go bike riding with wife and kids. Trail is an old train line, but it was EMPTY. Only 1/15 bikers we passed were masked (so dumb). Normally it would be busy, but for whatever reason, people are not venturing out.
Rode bikes up to Starbucks. They removed all the outside tables, and stacked the inside tables, so there was nothing to do but stand. I think they are cost cutting with the sanitation; it’s easier for them to do drive through than have an employee go outside and wipe a table every 5 minutes. So, even though PA local restaurants are open, the chain store is not.
Saturday, we needed algicide for pool closing, decided to head to KOP, stopped in Valley Forge park for a walk. Traffic was heavy, esp trucking. Park was busy, more masked walkers, we did not, no comment from anyone. Families with kids tended to not mask up, but teens and elderly did. Visitor center was closed still, but public bathrooms were open. Walmart in KOP was very busy, noticed the bike section was completely empty (no inv). Same as Walmart in MD, comment was bikes all come from China and there have been no shipments all summer. Back to School sections are full, already being moved to Clearance. Makes me think that COVID has scrambled Walmart logistics so all seasonal goods are out of phase. That’s not a good sign for fall. Grocery stores are already pushing Halloween candy.
Sunday, Went to noon church. People are still not coming back, even though we are now every other pew. But, there’s no books, no organist, no cantor… so it’s not really the same. I had to admit you get more ceremony on streaming, but at least we get the host. Local pool store had the algicide. Got a nice rack of pork ribs special at Acme, B1G2 free, not sure if they are getting restaurant overstock — store freezer was full. Made it $3/lb.
Today, Home Depot run. They had palettes of cleaning solutions: sanitizer, hand soap, etc by the gallon. Sources from a company called Zep in GA, looks like commercial supplier repackaged for retail. Very good price too. Still no napkins or paper towels in the grocery store, but we can get those in Target. Meat at the grocery store is bonkers: $1.70/lb for pork loin but $11/lb for chuck steak.
We are back to stocking extra goods now that vacation season is over. We are not “going crazy” but at this point a 3 mo stock of dry goods, shelf stable food, and a basement freezer doesn’t sound crazy to me. It’s keeping us sane by riding through the scarcity, so we don’t feel too anxious when we can’t find an item at the store …
