President Trump has paused the 50% tariffs set to go into effect against Canada at midnight.
According to media reports, after the Canadian trade delegation failed to come to a negotiated settlement on key USMCA terms, Prime Minister Mark Carney called President Trump earlier today to discuss the tariffs that were scheduled to begin tomorrow.
President Trump has announced a pause via Truth Social:

Interesting note another “pipeline player” here in Canada Enbridge had a good day on the stock market after days of decline.
Did a lot of work for Enbridge, always paid (well) on time no complaints. Still have their safety stickers on my skull protector.

This pipeline deal is a crusher for his ego. And he’ll have to fight it out with the Aboriginal and First Nation groups that will be bought at a heavy price.

Enbridge a large Energy Canadian company invested heavily in Texas Pipelines over the last several years.
When your Bidump was stumbling around Enbridge was investing
in other U.S. States too.
The only negative is our Carnage will claim credit, although he has been in Italy all week.

Worked in a couple refineries that the feedstock was oil sand based. It is a big change over to the process to get the end product.
The engineers missed by many multiples on how corrosive the process is. Was back a year after original install of my equipment making changes related to the changes to the cracking tower.
The product comes in on BNSF railcars, one of the biggest forces against the pipeline.
Husky I believe owns the plant in Toledo presently.
Yes, BNSF still owned by Warren Buffet I believe.
We live on the border at Washington State and watch hundreds of
his rail cars roll by daily.
Why not build a huge refinery or three in North Dakota. They are big on oil and could use the jobs.
