CTH is very happy to see President Trump pause his consideration of giving Ukraine Patriot and Tomahawk missile system technology and licenses. As noted by President Trump there is always a possibility of those systems being used against the USA if the conflict shifts and Ukraine becomes our enemy.
Germany and Ukraine have been asking for Tomahawks (offensive missile systems), while mostly Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has been requesting the Patriot (defensive) missiles. Both systems are closely guarded, held and maintained by strict security protocols in the U.S. military arsenal.
President Trump responded to the question during his Camp David cabinet meeting (prompted):
Zelenskyy likely did himself no favors when he announced his intention to build missile and drone factories in the U.K. No doubt several Trump administration officials noted that statement and contrast it against Zelenskyy’s requests.
It would be exceptionally risky for the USA to allow Patriot and Tomahawk systems to be built in the U.K. as the secrecy behind the technology would certainly leak and our strategic advantage lost. It should be remembered that both the U.K and Ukraine were part of the political system attempting to remove President Trump from office.

I believe that the arrangement under discussion was for the missiles, not the launchers/radar systems. The latter is the secret sauce.
Getting more factories for the missiles could be a good thing since those are needed in massive numbers. They are also fairly simple and less sensitive than the launcher systems.
I don’t support the UK/Ukraine option using stolen Russian sovereign wealth funds that is being stolen to fund this boondoggle.

The only one I can find is from United24, a pro-Ukrainian “news” site whose own source is a correspondent from Die Welt, but I have heard the story discussed by other commentators.
It may not be true at all, and if it is true the German correspondent may have gotten the specific company wrong. Perhaps it is significant that German companies are also working on some sort of licensing deals with the US MIC.
I pass it along as a factor to consider regarding whatever negotiations are currently going on.

The proposed plan Zelensky has of building missile and drone factories in the UK overlooks a serious fact and President Trump is correct to pause his decision on Patriot missiles. That fact is the elephant in the room which even the media in the UK famously ignores: the UK is not far away from becoming an Islamic state so theses factories of Zelensky’s would easily fall into the hands of Muslims once that happens. That, to me, is a monumental risk in terms of security and secrecy about our weapons.
