Last night President Trump terminated all trade discussions with Canada following the government of Canada running a false political ad in the USA, using manipulated Ronald Reagan remarks against U.S tariffs.
Earlier today Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney spoke about the issue to his assembled stenographers in media, and shortly thereafter he had a phone call with Ontario Premier Doug Ford. Carney and Ford decided to run the ad during the World Series and then stop it on Monday.
It would be illegal for the USA government to run an ad in Canada. The Canadian government does not permit foreign interests to express political opinions against their domestic policies on their controlled broadcasting operations.

Before January 1st, Canada had tariffs on certain U.S. products, primarily in sectors protected under its supply management system. These included:

They might be pissed at President Trump for putting an end to their gravy train, but if they make a deal with China out of desperation, Canada will be finished. The Chinese NEVER negotiate in good faith and will COMPLETELY take advantage of the situation and screw Canada. Everything is zero sum to them. Canada is in for a world of hurt. With their current leaders, I don’t see a way for Canada moving forward that’s not going to be extremely painful. I know we have a lot of good Canadians in the Treehouse, so I take no pleasure in saying that. I hope and pray that the conservative provinces can find a way out of this mess.

Keeping up with the PEOPLE of Canada on YOUTUBE is quite telling. Most of the newsy bunch reporting from there are livid about Carney. He was hired (elected) to supposedly handle Trump in trade negotiations. Well, that did not work out well. Carney is all the way to the left, however Carney’s personnel assets are all based here in the USA. He has little invested in Canada and now most of the Canadians know this. Alberta and Saskatchewan are ready to bail on Canada since Quebec and Ontario will not let them sell their oil . They want to be sovereign territories but if lefties in Quebec let them do that they will die on the vine since these provinces are where they get most of their income. Its going to get rough up North. People do not want to be a China puppet as Carney is now swinging in their direction. I find a LOT of Canadians have TDS while a lot of other Canadians simply do not. When the Trucker protest was going on, there was a lot of support for it and many Canadians in a discord I visit were running GerryCans out to the truckers. The pro-government-mandate crowd were silent on it. But here we are again, Canada’s government acting against the people. I’m not going to talk about it on that discord any more — they have some super-woke “intellectuals” who will deny the color of the sky if I say it’s blue. BUT
The purpose of the discord isn’t remotely political so we try not to spoil that and just hold our collective tongues.
Just the same, tariffs keep coming up because we like to buy and make things and that often involves shipping to other countries. They don’t understand how Chinese shippers are taking the hit so that we do not start US businesses to replace them. They don’t understand that to avoid the customer from seeing the costs, the Chinese origin shippers sent to a Chinese owned business whos function it is to pay those tariffs and then hand off orders to local delivery services like FedEx, UPS or USPS.
The reason I know this is what happens is evidenced by the lack of US government import paper/labels applied to the packages. They simply have delivery addresses with none of the typical international stuff. There’s no WAY it was shipped directly to me.
I tried to get them to understand “why didn’t I pay tariffs?” They did mental gymnastics claiming stupid things like “they claimed a value of zero” as the way to get around import fees and all that. If they can accept that practice as a reality, they will also have to admit they are being LIED TO about everything. But the tent-pole facts about who pays the tariffs is what will collapse the whole structure of lies once people understand it.
