To understand the scale of the ideological effort, review this earlier statement in her prepared remarks, “In markets where we could not help lower prices by expanding supply, we have aimed to mitigate the pain directly, through cost relief.” The admission here is that ideologically the Biden administration cannot expand energy supplies to lower energy prices without compromising their climate change mission.

I would much prefer that, rather that “rid ourselves from our current dependence on fossil fuels,” we rid ourselves of Janet Yelen and everyone who looks like her.

Janet Yellen is another one of those people who are highly schooled and woefully undereducated, knowing much that just isn’t so.
She already missed when she claimed inflation would be temporary.

Oh I don’t know two or three billion people taking a dirt nap.
A person can endure all sorts of privations. Hungry is not one of them.
The entire agriculture business model is absolutely built and dependant on the petrochemical industry.
What would actually happen if we ‘rid ourselves’ of a few billion people in order to get down to the amount of power that could be produced by green sources is that we’ll entirely lose the modern economy.
The next stop would be 1850 — animal power with the beginnings of steam-based industry == but I doubt we can settle there either. It will take too long to ramp up the number of draft animals, animal use-skilled workers, blacksmiths, farriers, and so on.
So — most likely — after an even larger mass die-off we wind up back at around 1650. Feudalism, mostly smallholdings worked with a single animal and a struggling human family and surrounding a manor occupied by lesser nobility who let us keep a fraction of what we raise
Modern society including modern technology depends on vast supplies of energy and a skilled populace. It’s probably not stable over more than a modest range of disturbances. The sudden removal of 1/3 or so of the population is very likely to cause the whole works to collapse over a couple-five years.
Watch Europe over the next couple of years as they shut down industry in order to live with a fraction of the energy supply, those unemployed workers must be supported from the same reduced income that’s struggling to buy enough energy …. If things go very well it won’t get much worse than that, but everyone who has been reading the news will immediately know ways that it is likely to NOT go well.
That IS their plan, isn’t it?
The plan is for millions to die for their imaginary “climate crisis”, and the survivors to be living in stone age conditions. These people are unimaginably evil.
The ‘climate change mission’ is a lie. Climate change is real, and has always been real, because the climate is ALWAYS changing. The question is whether WE are driving changes that threaten the existence of humanity and the answer is that there is ZERO evidence that this is the case. Recall the hunger stones that made news recently, appearing in European rivers at low water levels. That drought happened LONG before industrialization. Our ancestors didn’t cause that cycle any more than we are causing this one. They endured it, and kept building our civilization. It is a typical leftist fusion of ignorance and arrogance to believe that we have anywhere close to that level of control over reality.
70% of humanity lives in countries which have not bought into the marxist-corporatist madness. So, even if the their premise were true, their project would fail hard. They aren’t even trying to get the rest of the world on board. That they are pushing it through anyway suggest very strongly that ‘saving the Earth’ was never the objective. The objective of these evil people is to destroy European peoples and their civilization. Oh, and thanks, Establishment Republicans, for doing nothing to defend our civilization. I’ve been through the constitution a few more times, and I can’t find anything about the Treasury making these kinds of decisions. Has there been some amendments that I don’t know about ?
And watch the GOP rollover on a continuing resolution by September 30. They would hate a Federal Employee Work shutdown (aka paid leave) before an election.
Wouldn’t it be better to encourage people to use less through incentives?
Look at all of the wasteful wealthy people with their multiple massive resource-hog properties, numerous cars, and private jets. I don’t have a tiny home but I’ll bet I use 1% of the water and energy that these people do, and I probably generate .001% of the trash and pollution.
If we really do have an energy crisis, instead of the mixed message of sending us back to the stone age while also encouraging people to buy more products, not just ones that use energy but ones that require a lot of energy to produce, why don’t we reward conservation?
If I’m in the lowest 5% of electricity users I should be rewarded for that, and those that are in the top 25% should be punished with higher rates because THEY are the ones who are taking more than their share.

Janet Yellen has also announced that the US will put sanctions on any company that buys Russian oil at a price above the price the US and EU set for the price.
I had a feeling that this “price cap” would be used to take more oil and gas off the market – as much as possible.
The Federal Reserve (a private corporation BTW) is already working on converting to a digital currency. This will give the government absolute control over the behavior of citizens. The conversion to electrical vehicles will make everyone’s mobility subject to government control thru the utilities. Think how easy it will be.
