For the past couple of weeks I have been attempting to draw attention to this segment from a June 23rd congressional hearing. Given the events of the last 24 hours, that specific segment gains a higher level of importance. {Direct Rumble Link} PLEASE WATCH:
Chairman of the Joint Chiefs Mark Milley:
“Bagram is not necessary, tactically or operationally for what we are going to try to do here with Afghanistan. Consolidate on Kabul in defense of their government“.

Full Video Segment Below:
BACKGROUND: People have wondered how the Biden administration could get the collapse of Afghanistan so horribly wrong and botched completely the withdrawal of U.S. forces. To that point there is a little known Question and Answer session by Colorado Congressman Doug Lamborn (CO, CD05) that deserves some attention.
On June 23rd, Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin and Joint Chiefs Chairman Gen. Mark Milley testified in front of the House Armed Services Committee about their budget requests. Rep Doug Lamborn took this opportunity, he only had 4 minutes, to ask some very specific questions about Afghanistan and his concerns for early reports of the Taliban surging back into control.
Lamborn asked about the hazard of closing Bagram AFB given the tenuous nature of reliance on one airport in Kabul. Lamborn also asked about the evacuation of U.S-Afghan allies and the risk to women and girls if the Taliban were successful.
What Def Sec Austin and General Milley said in response totally explains why the White House was blind-sided by the Taliban. [WATCH Video at 01:06:56, Prompted]
Given the nature of what has happened in Afghanistan, those totally wrong estimations of the situation in the region should be enough to see both Secretary Austin and General Milley fired. At the very least, reliance on this inept and totally wrong outlook explains why the Biden administration had no idea what was about to happen.
Congressman Doug Lamborn’s questioning was directly on point, and in hindsight, stunningly prescient. Great job by Lamborn!
Hopefully, Austin was wrong when he said that any defense of women and girls in Afghanistan will be contingent upon the U.S. embassy in Kabul. The U.S. embassy in Kabul is no longer there, the Taliban have it.
JC General “Milquetoast” Milley is not fit to lead our military. More pathetic thank SecDef Austin if that is possible.
Not even fit to clean toilets/latrines.
love your handle for General Milley — “Milquetoast” Milley. spot on. Our enemies in Middle East and elsewhere are shaking in their boots (NOT!)
Sullivan said they were looking DEEP into what to do next. Biden should have put Forrest Gump into their positions because compared to their intellects Forrest looks likes Einstein.
The people I really blame are the rinos in Congress and the Senate they don’t say a darn thing they don’t protest they don’t fight they certainly don’t represent the American people much less the voters. All the Republican rhinos should be ashamed.
Yeah – the RINOS – mostly a bunch of worthless scammers. Graham has been helping the rats turn the judiciary into radical leftists and McConnell is going after Herschel Walker. We need to get rid of these RINO – we can’t depend on them to do anything other than for themselves.
Round them up and drop them in Kaboul.
AMEN!!!!!
I blame the people, family included, that voted for and still support Biden.
They need to be ridiculed. They need to own it.
Agree. I have severed relationship with former biden supporting friends. I’m building new relationships and won’t even consider one with a democrat. Civil and polite is the best I can do.
they live in an alternate universe (avg. Biden voter). They will look at you and blink, not comprehending, if you tell them what is actually going on in politics and the World, vis a vis our military, etc.
Same here. I have had, in the past, several leftist(I refuse to call them “liberals”) friends both from childhood and since I’ve been an adult. It is my choice to have no further contact with them because I find it impossible to be friends with anyone who supports politicians who are working toward the destruction of the country.
They are the lowest form of life in the universe.
It was a stolen election so don’t blame the voters.
Especially Mike Pence
Not ashamed but dropped into Afghanistan.A neat way to solve the problem.
OH!, but they (Senate Republicans) have that sending out requests for money down pat. Send everyone a POLL, a calculated test for all to answer what THEY want to happen and HOW they feel about the Democrats, etc. etc. They have that down to a science to ask the right pertinent questions getting the queried all enthused in that the Senate Republicans are actually aware of the problems and actually SEEM to want to address them. NOT. Its actually a blunt statement hidden in code:” We know what YOUR issues are but they are not worthy of our concern. Just send us your money so we can get on with planning our next recess activities.”
I block or stop all emails and text messages from Republicans b/c I agree with you that all they want is a donation (except for Louie Gohmert, Margorie Taylor Green, Matt Gaets and Jim Jordan).
I really blame the Democraps in Congress, the Bureaucracies, the White House, and in the News Media. They create all of the problems. I believe people who actively work for the destruction of our country are much more responsible than people who are cowardly and who don’t have the courage to disagree with the Democraps. Democraps are the more dangerous enemies of our Country, and they always have been.
Actually, the chicoms buy anyone who is in a position of leadership. People without Jesus in their hearts can’t resist piles of cash.
Bagram was the most fortified Air Base in the world. and obozo gives slow joe the go ahead to just walk away and give it to the taliban?
More than just desert Bagram, they PRESENTED it to the Taliban.
Along with aircraft, weapons, vehicles, lists of NATO sympathizers, and surveillance equipment.
Not to mention what CIA chief Burns awarded to the conquerors in hard cash.
Even that was apparently not enough.
Today many reporters thought the extra explosions in Afghanistan were the U.S. detonating their equipment in preparation to leave Kabul. I guess we’ll find out in a day or two. Better it’s detonated than taken by the Taliban or ISIS.
We are said to have “awesome” drone technology. So why are we not targeting the choppers and armor left behind? Every one of those devices transmits GPS coordinates, so don’t pretend we cannot locate them.
We are said to have “awesome” drone technology. So why are we not targeting the choppers and armor left behind?
Our “awesome” drone technology was based at Bagram
Asswhy
Apple sauce doesn’t want to offend the Taliban…that is why.
CIA “chief” Burns took office in March 2012. For the 40 preceding years ha has been a career State Dept employee, usually an ambassador, a cocktail-drinking talkie, a gladhander, not a doer.
2021 not 2012!
Bagram was the ONLY defendable air base in country. Not a secret. This Milley guy should have his U.S. Citizenship revoked.
why don’t we send Miley to Afghanistan tonight to participate with our troops there – not to lead them, but drop his butt there to stay until the last ones are leaving?
drop him in there like a lead balloon
Agreed.
Exceptionalism . . . what is it all about, really?
YOU count for something if you are an American . . . your beautiful human life is important . . .
life is NOT cheap
the powers trying to destroy our magnificent exceptionalism over the decades have been working at eroding that
they can do away with the lives of millions of babies, they can destroy the well-being of communities by devastating their economies, shipping jobs off to China . . . they can send Coronavirus patients to nursing homes to expose the old people there . . .
they can open up the floodgates to all kinds of drugs to pour through our borders to destroy our precious people of all ages
they can forfeit our nation’s sovereignty and disrespect our borders to let in people that will kill our people and not even be punished, to bring in people that are not vetted properly . . . so damn careless! so lazy and lax!
if you look at the tragic stories of parents who have lost children to MS-13 violence, it is not only the perpetrators of the violence themselves but the officeholders who are such terrible stewards of the trust they are given, they have blood on their hands, along with the MS-13 gang members . . .
this now, in Afghanistan . . . another example where our “leaders” – political and military – hold American lives cheaply, carelessly
Brilliant! Simply brilliant!
Our American inheritance is being squandered by American Politicians who seem to yearn for a return to a 7th century existence where not only is life cheap … but it rarely lasted 40 years.
These so-called “American” politicians are serving chicom masters.
Biden’s open southern boarder also welcomes, without even testing for Corona, let alone vaccinating, all the illegals the world has to offer
Austin reminds me of a Black Grinch, and also Billy Bob Thornton in the movie Slingblade.
Do you think our CIA is not being funded by drugs, too? Then what about Secretary Austin and General Milley?
The war in Afghanistan has looked a lot like the war on drugs in Latin America and previous colonial campaigns in Asia, with a rapid militarization of the area and the empowerment of pliant local elites.

“From statements by U.S. Ambassador [to Iran] Richard Helms, there was little heroin production in Central Asia by the mid 1970s,” Professor Alfred McCoy, author of “The Politics of Heroin: CIA Complicity in the Global Drug Trade,” told MintPress. But with the start of the CIA secret war, opium production along the Afghanistan-Pakistan border surged and refineries soon dotted the landscape. Trucks loaded with U.S. taxpayer-funded weapons would travel from Pakistan into its neighbor to the west, returning filled to the brim with opium for the new refineries, their deadly product ending up on streets worldwide. With the influx of Afghan opium in the 1980s — Jeffrey St. Clair, co-author of “Whiteout: The CIA, Drugs and the Press,” alleges — heroin addiction more than doubled in the United States.
“In order to finance the resistance for a protracted period, the Mujahideen had to come up with a livelihood beyond the weapons that the CIA was providing,” McCoy said, noting that the weapons issued could not feed the fighters’ families, nor reimburse them for lost labor:
So what the resistance fighters did was they turned to opium. Afghanistan had about 100 tons of opium produced every year in the 1970s. By 1989-1990, at the end of that 10-year CIA operation, that minimal amount of opium — 100 tons per annum — had turned into a major amount, 2,000 tons a year, and was already about 75% of the world’s illicit opium trade.”

Wasn’t Bush Sr. involved with the Mena Airport drug smuggling operation from South America when he was in the CIA?

Likely 100% true, Snoopy … As are the stories that China is after the lithium deposits under Afghanistan’s sand. Y’see how this works? The leftist elites demand green energy, which relies on battery storage. They facilitate China gaining control of a principal raw material needed to implement the mandated push away from fossil fuels. The Chinese expend zero blood and military equipment and laugh all the way to the bank, after sending a cut to The Big Guy and his jagoff pals.
“…for what we are going to try to do here with Afghanistan.”
And what precisely were you planning to to in Afghanistan, General? Operation Dumpster Fire?
the families should receive an amount equal to what was left behind.
Bagram. My home for nearly 8 years. Many civilians won’t understand what I mean by ” home”. I won’t try to explain the 8 years of transformation Bagram Air Base meant to me. For the record, Robin Williams, USO rockstar, could not have encapsulated the transformation of Bagram better than when he said, “I miss having to drive down Disney and negotiate a mine field and soviet aircraft and armor hulks to come and say hello! Now you have a blimp!”
Initially there was no infrastructure. Everywhere we walked we had to have ” Petzl” caving lights on our foreheads to see where we were going. We were the tip of the spear, delivering hell to anyone on the list of terrorists handed us on our daily mission set. Our unit chaplain was in our cockpit before every launch to bless us as we went forth to rid the planet of evil.
Fast forward to my last deployment. Our Forward Operating Base presence was enough to keep the enemy at bay. The “tree” of prioritized targets had diminished over the years. Our one target remained…I call him UBL. For many years this was his moniker. On this deployment we went out and killed him.
There is no finer feather in my cap. Although I have lost friends in this conflict, I feel this deployment put them at rest.
Biden is a true dolt. Idiot.
God bless our Soldiers, Marines, Airmen and Space Forcians downrange. Every life lost now is on the shoulder of a senior devoid of empathy and dealing with dementia and alzheimers. This guy is an idiot of the first order. He is our Commander in Chief.
My 1st amendment rights applied, I ask for prayers for our forces downrange trying to unfk this debacle created by JoeBiden and his cast of evil doers.
Thank you! God speed to our brave men risking their lives again to save others.
Thank you for you, and all that you’ve done for our country. God bless!
Bless you for your service. May the remainder of your years be easy and a treasure
Biden’s friend rape dead women.

Wow that article is disgusting. I enjoy Mr. Ibrahim’s writings though. He provides so much insight into Islam that most writers shy away from.
And this putz is a RANGER?
Roger’s Rangers rule #9:
If you are obliged to retreat, let the front of your whole party fire and fall back, till the rear hath done the same, making for the best ground you can; by this means you will oblige the enemy to pursue you, if they do it at all, in the face of a constant fire.
…for what we are trying to do here.
What they were trying to do was evacuate the military prior to the 20th anniversary. Bagram wasn’t needed. If the goal was to evacuate all of the civilians, more time would be needed and secure facilities to do it from.
How could they get it so wrong? With all the bad news (Covid, inflation, Southern border), Biden wanted a political victory of ending a war so he could celebrate on the anniversary of 9/11.
Dig a little deeper: Does anybody think, for a minute, that Joe hired Austin and Milley all by himself? Did he evenm know their names berfore taking ofice? Or were they, like his cabinet, pre-picks, plants put in place by the Obama machine?
None of these operatives – military or political – are independent agents. They are all serving together in the cause of transforming America under the direction of a machine headed by a former president.
Actually, you misquoted him. He said (emphasis mine), “Bagram is not necessary, tactically or operationally for what we are going to try to do here with Afghanistan. Consolidate on Kabul in support of their government”. In other words, in SUPPORT of the terrorists! Much more egregious than as you mistakenly quoted him.
A terrorist super state!
Well, what’s the date context of Milley’s statement, Hurley?
I suspect he meant “in support of the Afghan government – not the Taliban
You know – the civilian government we were propping up before it fell
Look at the graphic a couple comments below – he made the statement June 23, long before the Taliban seized Kabul
I propose trading Biden, Hunter, Jill, HRC, BJC, Val Jar, Rice, BHO +Mikey & their leader Georgie Soros along with the 219 Dem. House members, 50 Dem Senators , the chief of staffs and all staffers to trade for all the American people & troops still held in that 7th century hellhole. The Tally lee bon would love this up trade & our reps can show bravery compassion, etc. I really don’t give a damn, as long as we get our people returned.
Court Marshall Gen Milley
A poster boy for the Peter Principle.
I watched a guy, Joe Kent, on T. Carlson’s show last evening. He’s running for congress in Oregon and explained the whole D.C. s_ _ _show regarding the active colluding of both parties, U.S. intelligence agencies, F.B.I., media, deep state and military industrial complex being responsible for this constant state of war which benefits them. Kent’s wife died, while serving in Syria after C.I.A. lied to Trump by not following orders to withdraw from that war torn country. I saw this in South Vietnam where I served as a infantry rifle platoon leader. Endless, no-win wars serve as a means for career minded officers and NCO’s to get their tickets punched for advancement and, upon retirement, land a cushy defense industry or media position. Eisenhower, G. Washington, Goldwater and others warned of this.
Welcome home brother.
I saw that. At any other time he would have been called a conspiracy theorist of the first order. Yesterday might have changed everything. I hope so.
The answer may be this simple: For wisdom will not enter into a malicious soul, nor dwell in a body subject to sins. (Wis. 1:4)
“…we are going to TRY to do in Afghanistan”
There you have all you need to know this stooge should be fired. He knowingly gambled with peoples’ lives when he didn’t have to, and threw away assets necessary to success.
Ulysses S. Grant: “Never attack a position with a regiment when you have a division available.”
George Patton they’re not. Dependance on other nations is the default strength. Knowing the US is far stronger then any other, these two lead soldiers underestimated the “threat”.
What military publicly tells their enemies, China, Afghanistan and Russia, of their military weaknesses? Austin just did.
Listen to Milley – he’s focused on percentages and numbers data to define his awareness and understanding. It doesn’t seem that he can think outside the box at all, and events have shown that
“percentages and numbers data” is not military strategy
it’s bean counting
and/or ass-covering
Military strategy is a defensible air base with runways, hangers, barracks and mess halls, Blackhawks, drones, electronic command and control systems, and wide view planes to your perimeter
… from which you can conduct offensive sorties and orderly withdrawal of military and civilian personnel under conditions of adequate FORCE PROTECTION
And a failed military strategy is giving that up
Period
This fking tard. Bagram can be defended easily. It’s isolated, great observation, and not congested. Worst military blunder ever and my Marines paid for it.
At some point that embassy needs to be obliterated.
Same with the airport.
Let the Chinese provide whatever infrastructure they need.
What, pray tell, is Generalissimo Milley “going to try to do here with Afghanistan”? No mission goals are evident … other than lining the pockets of arms makers, leaking high tech to nations we used to call our enemies, and using western human assets as pawns in a contest between tribal factions in a backwards region of the planet.
“We have a plan and we are following our plan”?
To weaken the USA and empower our enemies?
Is there any other conclusion here?
I believe this is all by design. Everybody knows the leftist want to pull the US down from our perch as a world leader. What better way than a humiliating withdrawal from a hellhole and not coordinate with our allies there. US in kabul embassy giving out blank visas to God knows who. Which is evil-like genuis considering the 2022 elections are coming up. I believe there will be no 2022 elections. A state of emergency will be issued or something to do with terrorists threats. The dems do not want or will not give up their fraudulently acquired power.
What is the difference between Lt Col Alexander Vindman (remember him?) and Lt Col Stuart Scheller?
Fired?!? They need to face court-martial and loss of ALL retirement benefits.
