Today, the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors responded to the legislative subpoena:
Obviously given the nature of the court rulings that have sustained the position of the state senate, the Maricopa County BoS view the legislative subpoena as legally valid but unenforceable. They appear to stand in open defiance of the state upper-chamber because the county board perceives no threat from any enforcement mechanism (law enforcement or state attorney).
The AZ senate does more than make speeches or we never would of had an audit.
This is not over yet.

Then the State needs to arrest every member of the board if supervisors for ignoring the State Senate’s orders! Agreed – The judge who ruled the subpoena legal needs to issue a warrant for the arrest of all members of the Board, any local Dominion officials and seize all of the requested equipment. Canada has an extradition treaty with the US so order the arrest and extradition of Dominion officials and seize what ever is needed to get into the dominion equipment for examination.
Arizona Senate find some backbone and get on with it. Republican Party stop wimping out and discipline the two Republicans who are blocking action. Very simply, write the law for future elections such that any person who has failed to comply with legislative audits in the past is barred from participation in the management of all future elections. And any county that has failed to comply fully with legislative audits is automatically subject to forensic audits of all elections for the next 10 years … at the county’s expense.
Write the law such that you punish current lawbreakers in the future in ways that don’t rely on weak law enforcement doing their jobs.
While the Maricopa BOS is a hive of villainy, they’re certainly not entirely wrong to toss all of this back in the AZ RINO state legislature’s face. These people did NOTHING substantial when it counted (ie, before Jan 6), and now engage in theatre for months.

What I find funny (not funny, haha, but funny-funny) is the lack of understanding by the MCBE regarding the purpose of an audit. Many Americans have a misconception as well. An audit will not say fraud occurred. Also, the audit won’t say it didn’t occur either. Rather, an audit highlights discrepancies in the laws, rules, processes, and procedures used to manage the overall system. In this case, the election system in AZ, specifically Maricopa County. An audit highlights discrepancies and gaps, that is all. I have been involved with audits both as an auditor and one being audited. The audit doesn’t determine misfeasance or malfeasance (terms Sundance has used here and apply wholly to the AZ audit and all audits), not at all. That occurs after the audit when those being audited are required to explain the discrepancies. And in my industry usually results in investigations, most of the time by external government-run financial oversight departments (the irony being that the government doesn’t mess around here and uses the full force of the police state to ensure the truth is uncovered).
It’s either extreme ignorance on these board members, or they have some weird long game that doesn’t make sense planned. They keep proclaiming- be ready to defend in court.
Really? Because actually, the next phase of an audit is where YOU, the AUDITED, are required to explain the anomalies, discrepancies, and gaps found in the audit. This happens with every audit. This happens so that the governing body (the state Legislature in this case) can determine whether those gaps are due to misfeasance or malfeasance.
The MCBE are pounding their fists and stating the next correct step of any audit if discrepancies are found. Their actions show the world they know the gaps are issues due to malfeasance rather than misfeasance.
Maybe they are not ignorant. Maybe they truly feel the Legislature will back down. I mean, they do have social media censoring on their behalf, they have the MSM not sharing accurate details and only providing the anti-audit narrative, and they have the DOJ playing games on their behalf.
Hopefully, one of the MCBE members will wake up in the morning and realize that maybe today is the day they make a deal to protect themselves. One of them is going to have an oh shit moment. But, that won’t happen until the Legislature enforces something.
Fraud vitiates EVERYTHING!
I didn’t say it didn’t, but this audit won’t determine fraud. It only highlights areas that are not kosher with the rules, laws, and processes. It’s the follow-ups that show fraud, the investigations that put those being audited in the position to demonstrate how the discrepancies could happen without intent to defraud.
As someone who has done audits- there are times where you come across discrepancies that you can’t wait for the audited to try and explain away that could only be a result of malfeasance (i.e. done with a willful intent to deceive or harm). Typically it goes one of two ways:
If the responsible person is truly not aware (because someone else actually did the defrauding) and it’s obvious that only ill intent can lead to that discrepancy they typically show concern and an eagerness to get to the bottom of it. Even if they were involved in moving it forward (because they were not involved with the fraud, only the process, they had no inkling of wrongdoing in their actions).
If the responsible person is involved- they either have some really lame excuse that doesn’t fit together but they pound it home, even with anger and contempt. Or they just refuse to participate and call it a witch hunt.

Responding to a subpoena with “it’s time to move on” suggests the Maricopa legislature has no power. I think it’s time for the legislators to use the power they have 100%.
Either the AZ Senate has proper legal authority to issue these subpoenas, or they don’t.
It’s time for the courts to decide, and time to either make arrests, or deny the subpoenas.
The Maricopa County Board shouldn’t have the ability to stymie the country’s investigation into the 2020 election.
According to the state constitution, they do have the authority to issue subpoenas. That’s already been determined. I don’t know why they haven’t enforced them.
The only thought I have regarding why they wouldn’t- they don’t need to because they have what they need. This is to put the MCBE on the defense to use against them during the post-audit investigation phase. I just posted up the thread, and people need to remember- the audit doesn’t determine fraud. It only highlights discrepancies. Those discrepancies are then investigated. This is why I find it funny that the MCBE keeps saying- we will fight this in court!!! Yeah, you will because you will be required to explain away, with facts and data, the discrepancies to show they are not due to fraudulent actions.

Only recourse now is the people of Maricopa County themselves. Government only has the power the people give them. Enough pressure by the county populace is not present, or at least that I have heard or seen, to get them off dead center. In fact, I have not actually seen any push back from the ‘people’ that elected these communist to office. There has been enough publicity locally and on the right that I am sure most of the Maricopa County residence are aware of the spotlight their county is in. Their apparent silence is telling.
