As hundreds of thousands of patriots rally in our nation’s capitol, the House and Senate each debate certification of the electoral college vote for President of the United States.

The electoral votes from the 50 states and the District of Columbia, are read in alphabetical order. The process is spelled out in great detail in the U.S. legal code, right down to the Jan. 6 date and the hour (1 p.m.) at which the joint session begins.
