Steadfast doesn’t mean when it’s easy; the term has no meaning when things are working according to our own convenient interests. Steadfast means standing strong when it’s challenging, difficult and unnerving. Just as courage is not the absence of fear, rather it is taking action despite being fearful; so too is steadfast a decision.
Often when things are disconcerting, we retreat to the place where we are comfortable. However, steadfast is unwavering despite the obstacles and difficulties. When we don’t hold the words to comfort the grieved, yet we show up and sit quietly just to eliminate loneliness, that is a steadfast commitment. When we see adversity on the face of another, and we choose to engage with our time and comfort, that is a steadfast decision.
When CTH was formed, it was a small assembly of misfits who were not fearless, but brave enough to be comfortable within our discomfort; and we knew we had to look deeply at the issues which face us. We remind ourselves that ‘truth has no agenda‘ & truth exists despite our feelings of the subject matter. The core elements of CTH are based on this principle of remaining steadfast amid the face of adversity, national, political or even personal.
The CTH armory is insightful, wise and often purposeful, but this assembly is foremost a fellowship. A steadfast decision to stand together and figure out how all of these intense subjects, issues and events interact, influence and ultimately impact our lives.
Right now our nation is facing a time of extreme trepidation. Nerves are frayed, emotions are raw and individually we find our compass spinning in a way that destabilizes us. Into this climate the originating value of our core assembly becomes critical. CTH remains steadfast & committed to the best hopes and solutions within us. We strive with purpose.
Each day for over a decade we begin with a simple prayer. We host a candle for those who need prayers and support, and we engage purposefully with the intent to cherish the value, wisdom and skills that each unique person brings to the subject matter being discussed.
My personal commitment toward that end has been to remain steadfast and unwavering in defense of this little corner of the internet. To maintain a place where facts can be discovered, truth can be unearthed and honest discussion/opinion can be afforded.
In July of this past year, it was our CTH mission to ensure that people within the institutions of our government were aware of: (a) evidence of specific corruption; and (b) our knowledge about it. It was during one of those briefing trips to DC when I recognized a serious disconnect between what the people within those institutions of government viewed as their role, and what We The People expected of them.
It was also the first time when I realized that internal corrective action was unlikely to succeed because the scale of corrupt activity was not simply based on intent, but also present because the absence of morality was metastatic throughout the system.
I’m certain there are good people in DC, but the systems surrounding them have lost their originating purpose. The central function of U.S. government is now so corrupt the institutions regard ‘We The People‘ as the problem the people within the system must protect themselves from.
I quickly recognized the solutions to our national issues were never going to come from our requests to those who operate within the institutions. However, even worse was the impact we were having on each-other due to our national frustration. It was evident within our frustration – as a nation we are losing a sense of identity, unity and fellowship.
The only people who can change that dynamic is us.
We are ‘The People’ we have been waiting for; yet, the professional political class, purposefully walled-off within this corrupt system, are also purposefully blind to our assembly. In order for the DC politicians to continue operating corrupt levers within a corrupt machine they must ignore the will of the same people they are supposed to represent.
President Trump represents ‘We The People‘, and as a consequence those within this corrupt system viewed his appearance with the same dismissive outlook they carry toward those who voted for him.
CTH (The Last Refuge) was founded upon this acceptance long before Donald Trump became president in 2016; and the actions by both wings of the UniParty congress over the past six weeks have been clear evidence of what we always knew was present.
Our current national challenge is to figure out a way to confront this dynamic and then deal with it. However, we must deal with it in a way that does not destroy the founding principles of our constitutional republic. There are many disappointments around us, but we must remain strong and purposeful with any chosen direction. Misplaced corrective action regardless of intent is neither prudent nor wise.
Above all, those who understand the larger issues must remain united and hold a sense of fellowship toward each-other if we are to overcome the challenges. The purpose of using COVID fear as a strategic weapon to achieve division is evident. Unilateral fiats can be an effective strategy deployed by those who benefit from division; we must counter this effort.
The fraud within the phrase “social distancing” not only creates distance between us but also creates a void of loneliness within the soul. Into this void of isolation, fear takes hold and becomes toxic. Thus the true value of fellowship is more important than ever.
Right now everything around us seems less focused on the pursuit of happiness and more focused on what happiness we are missing. At the heart of that anxiety is this sense of foreboding. A choking sense of fear and worry; a sense of trepidation. Faith in a loving and purposeful God is now more important than ever, embrace it – share it.
This moment in history is where each person of strength holds a higher level of influence, and we should engage in the lives of others to show that strength. Right now people around you are looking for courage, optimism and hope. If you do not provide that to your family, friends and community, you allow the alternative, despair, to take root.
Despair is the foreboding outcome of the same evil systems that create it. Recognize despair when you see it, intercept it and eliminate it when you can… AND you always can. Tend to the flickering flame of liberty & teach others, especially our youth, the skills to defend it.
Do not distress yourself with dark imaginings. We are a nation of liberty loving independent and free-thinking people; born under a compact to allow each to live their lives according to their own purpose. Do not abdicate the duty to advocate and protect individual liberty to anyone except yourself. Your dreams are unique to you.

[…] I have been saying for some time that America is at a tipping point. Regardless of who is in apparent control of the Government (Executive, Legislative or Judiciary), there are forces at work that truly do lead to the creation of a “Uni-party.” As the underbelly of the Uni-party has been exposed, those in control have become vulnerable.
The real prospect that God-fearing, hard-working, honest Americans are beginning to see how the system has been rigged to manipulate them is upon us. Your dogged determination to lay bare the ugliness of what Washington has become is to be greatly admired.
We have lacked true leadership for too many years. This of course creates a vacuum and vacuums are dangerous because they allow false prophets to arise. People are desperate for someone to lead and say that they can restore the values that we once held dear as a nation.
Perhaps this is why your banner with the redhead staring at the gathering storm calls to me. The storm is just off the shore, building energy, waiting to crash over all of us. Yet, in the gathering darkness you have provided a light. A beacon of hope in a dismal world. A beacon which illuminates an alternative to the false choices of the Hegelian dialectic that is forced upon us all.
May God keep and protect you as you gather and collate the evidence to lay bare the ugliness that has become government, as it is now practiced, and reclaim all that makes America truly great. May the Holy Spirit guide you in your words and actions. Know that there are many that believe in what you are doing and stand ready to do their part. It is difficult to watch the apathy of the media and politicians in the face of blatant election fraud. Harvard’s Election Integrity Project tells us that we are almost last in election integrity among democratic countries, whatever tier of development. And yet we are told by a pompous media and narcissistic political class not to disrupt the peaceful transfer of power resulting from free and fair elections. Were it so, we’d not object.
There’s little apathy from the media. A huge majority of the media are left-wingers who actively and shamefully do their best to ruin this great country of ours: Theirs is a socialist agenda and they will stop at nothing to destroy our democracy.

The McConnell Puzzle
1. Mitch McConnell, despite being a Senator for decades, has recently had historically low approval ratings. Rolling Stone Magazine even quoted one poll at a staggeringly low 18%.
2. Yet McConnell won by 20%, and even managed to get 56% of the female vote, when running against a woman?
3. “Despite Security Push, Kentucky Struggles To Update Voting Machines”
4. Few Kentucky precincts have paper-ballot backups! Apparently the most powerful man in the Senate can send $700 Billion in pork to foreign countries, but only $6 Million to update Kentucky’s voting system. (Clearly by design.)

Sadly most people just vote for the familiar name or simply with the D or R next to it. Few look into policy issues and voting records. The Turtle is a terrible person, never mind politician. Ignorance and apathy ( on the public’s part ) is what will kill the Republic in the end.

In my state of Kentucky Mitch McConnell controls the purse strings of the Republican party. No one receives financial backing without him and this stranglehold allows us little choice. Either vote for Mitch or the string of pathetic democrats who successively oppose him. This year’s opposition was the worst yet. Matt Bevin came close to defeating him in a primary some years ago because he was independently wealthy but he then burned out as Governor trying to take on the public pension disaster in our state. Mitch works his angles under the radar as either minority leader or majority leader. Either way he’s still in power. Rand Paul once defeated Mitch’s handpicked favorite for our junior senate seat but Rand is wise enough not to confront him directly. Committee memberships are the hammer that Mitch wields. He cann render any sitting Republican Senator powerless. It is a heavy cudgel.

When I was there for a week before the Inauguration in Jan 2017, we stayed in a hotel about 35 miles north of DC real close to the light rail rapid transit line.

For those feeling hopeless and defeated after seeing Democrats steal this year’s presidential election–hey, it could be worse.
In 1879 some 150 British and colonial troops stationed at Rorke’s Drift, where they were expected to be out of harm’s way, were attacked by at least 3,000 (and possibly as many as 4,000) Zulu warriors. What could be more hopeless than that? What could they do?
The ancient Chinese sage Sun Tzu, author of The Art of War, said it best:
“On death ground… fight.”
So that’s what they did, all afternoon, all night. And the next day, what was left of the Zulu host retreated, their purpose unachieved. The handful of men at Rorke’s Drift had lived through an inescapable danger. By not giving up. It was simple: there was nothing for them to do but fight. As hard as they could, for as long as they could. And most of them survived it.
The battle of Rorke’s Drift was the subject of a 1964 movie, Zulu, featuring Michael Caine’s film debut. Most war movies exaggerate the history, but Zulu understates it–because the true story of the fight was just too hard to believe. Caine’s character, for instance, Lt. Gonville Bromhead, was actually stone deaf: he’d been placed at Rorke’s Drift to keep him out of the way. His disability didn’t stop him from winning a Victoria Cross for his role in the battle.
As daunting, even terrifying, as our country’s current crisis is, people throughout history have been through worse. Sometimes they even triumph against impossible odds.
But they don’t do it by losing heart and giving up.
My uncle fought a similar battle in the Korean war. Its called the Battle of Kapyong. He and 3 other Australian soldiers were put on a hill as a rear guard and in the dead of night the Chinese attacked. Wave after wave all night long. Only 4 Australians against hundreds of Chinese. During the battle it was down to hand to hand combat at times. The next morning no one expected them to survive, but all 4 men walked off that hill. His unit was awarded a US Presidential Citation.

One of the amazing stories in this election saga of the past two months is how severe the social media attempted to censor Patriots. Despite this massive effort by huge tech companies, most alternative media outlets found ways to adapt and have maintained their communication.
CTH is a great example. Sundance valiantly sought and struggled to re-establish this website on another more friendly platform.
But, many other Patriots have done the same. The X22 Report was de- platformed by YouTube, but they foresaw it and moved the videos to Rumble.
RedPill78 also lost his YouTube account as well as Twitter and Facebook. But he now has a channel on Twitch and exports his videos to Rumble and BitChute. He also livestreams on “DLive” and “Pilled.”
Likewise Praying Medic moved his operations from YouTube to CloutHub, and when that one was de-platformed by IBM, he recorded podcasts on his own website, and created news videos on Rumble.
These are just a few examples of innovative and heroic web Patriots that are keeping the Trump narrative alive and available to all who will listen. It is quite a story in of itself, and hopefully all these efforts will succeed in creating a new news network – dare we call it the American “samizdat’?

Some random thoughts…
And they are all the more walled off now that they have a system in place that guarantees them the outcome of all future elections. So why should they care what voters think, on Jan 6 or any other time, when the voting outcome has already been pre-determined?
The more I learn, the more it becomes clear that what we face are the “forces of Empire“, for which we use words like “Uni-party” to describe. This begs the question of “what empire?”, because surely all empires must have a name. And indeed there are plenty of names from which to choose throughout history, not the least of which is the British empire of early modernity. Given the singular and uncanny success of this imperial system to the present day, it may even be tempting to peg it with that name, and not without some justification. However, that is probably naive.
On the surface, empires (plural) have names and easily identifiable features, like visible leaders and physical borders. However, Empire (singular) is a worldview, not bound by identifiable individuals nor by physical time and space. It sets up shop in the places of least resistance, while pledging allegiance to no flag, save that of its own “higher calling”. In modernity, that place of least resistance above all others was the nation of Great Britain. The birth place of Liberty, rather ironically, provided the freedom Empire needed to ultimately operate on a global scale, parasitizing the fruits of liberty every step of the way. The place of least resistance in the current day is now the nation of America, and the parasitic process here is almost complete, as it was complete in Great Britain long ago.
So while it may be enticing to think in terms of empires, it is more useful to understand the worldview of Empire. The upshot being that the nation is not the empire. While it is true that the British Empire operated in the nation of Great Britain, once the forces of Empire had no more use for the nation, it was rubbished, discarded out of hand, which we are now witnessing. The same is about to happen in America, as Empire nears its goal.
So what is that goal, and what is this worldview? Here again, it is perhaps helpful to know what it is not. It is not tyranny, but it uses tyranny to achieve its goal. The CCP is tyranny, but it was the forces of Empire in Britain and America that created the CCP and used it every step of the way. So what is is the goal? Nearest I can tell, it is absolute, but willing control.
Fear is a thief of time and focus and we will need both to survive the future. I sit on my limb a lot and read what is going on inside this wonderful treehouse. Many celebrate the fellowship of expanded ideas and learning more about the real diversity of the many who participate in the exchange of ideas. Sundance and crew inspire us to greater heights and we all are blessed by each other in this.
The storm….it calls to me.

Longanimity vs. patience
“Longaniminimi-what?” you might ask. Exactly. In an instant age when Amazon can deliver anything I want before I know I want it, this virtue has fallen out of fashion. Sometimes translated as “long-suffering,” longanimitas is a virtue similar to patience—but St. Thomas Aquinas’s keen and careful distinction between these two virtues reveals some precious pearls of wisdom.
In his Summa theologiae, St. Thomas holds that longanimity and patience both deal with enduring difficulties for the sake of a good. But patience focuses on the difficulties, whereas longanimity focuses on the good. Patience steels the soul, helping a person bear hardships serenely—like a patient mother responds calmly to the foibles of her toddler, over and over again. Meanwhile, longanimity directs the soul towards a good for which we yearn, specifically a good that’s been a long time coming. So longanimity is a virtue for those who wait: it entails steadfastness in hopefully awaiting a long-delayed good.

I worked as an auditor and fraud examiner in the Federal government for 28 years. I have been retired for a decade now. During my time in DC I had the opportunity to work in a number of agencies as well as on Capitol Hill. My work involved fraud examinations, financial audits, operational audits, and business systems reviews. My work also took me to government contractors, State and local governments, law firms, accounting firms, and grantee organizations.
During my 28 years working for the Federal government, I saw a steady decline in the rigor in the work of federal employees at all levels as well as an increased politicization of political appointees and the Senior Executive Service (SES). This happened at the same pace as the politicization of the Senate and House of Representatives. Politics now trumps pretty much everything including integrity, work ethic, reliability, and even the audit process as conducted by federal auditors (In my opinion).
The absence of morality has indeed metastasized throughout the system.
Don’t lose heart, keep fighting the good fight. There are lots and lots of good people who work for the Federal, State, and local government. There are lots and lots of good people working in private industry as well.
The problem is that morality has taken a back seat to politics and self-centeredness by those at the top and those that curry favor with those at the top.
This site and the posts that Sundance writes is/are exceptional on every level. I have been visiting here for a long time, but never post. As this year winds down, I just want to say thank you, and G-d bless you. What you have created here is something very special and it is a gift to countless tens of thousands if not hundreds of thousands of people. I, for one, am deeply grateful. We are indeed at a singular crossroads. Should Joe Biden be sworn in on January 20, 2021, everything changes. After a world-historical heist of the US Presidency by election fraud there is no longer any democracy. From that point on the criminals are in charge: the dictatorship of those that pulled it off. All others are just props and window dressing, Biden and Kamala Harris included. The ones that pulled off the heist will be calling every shot, because that heist handed them the power of the executive: all on their side owe the victory to them, and there is plenty of black-mail to go around.
Everything will then be decided by the outcome of the internal power struggles between cliques wielding blackmail against one another. That will be how political power is decided in this country, should Biden be sworn in come January 20, 2021. I think few of us have really wrapped our heads around the new realities we will be living under should that come to pass.

The key to our future is communication. The ability for all freedom loving patriots to be able to share information, ideas, and actions. Organize a movement that the political system that fails to represent the people can not override or create fear through their two methods of intimidation being viruses and racism. The mainstream media is major part of the DC swamp and needs to be ignored.
