Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell has announced the full senate vote for Supreme Court Nominee, Judge Amy Coney Barrett, will take place next Monday October 26. The nomination is expected to be voted out of the Senate Judiciary Committee this Thursday.
WASHINGTON, D.C. — Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) announced Tuesday that the Senate will vote to confirm President Trump’s nominee Amy Coney Barrett to the Supreme Court on Monday, Oct. 26.
With a 53-47 majority, and just two Republican senators opposed, Trump’s nominee is on a glide path to confirmation that will seal a conservative hold on the court for years to come.
Without the votes to stop Barrett’s ascent, Democrats have few options left. They are searching for two more GOP senators to break ranks and halt confirmation, but that seems unlikely. Never before as a court nominee been voted on so close to a presidential election.
Senate Democratic leader Chuck Schumer decried what he called the “farcical” process to “jam” through Trump’s choice, even as the coronavirus outbreak sidelined GOP senators. (more)

It’s a race against time to save the Republic. But we have God on our side!
Amen
“IF my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.“ 2 Chronicles 7:14
Jeremiah 6: 16-19
16 Thus saith the Lord, Stand ye in the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths, where is the good way, and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls. But they said, We will not walk therein.
17 Also I set watchmen over you, saying, Hearken to the sound of the trumpet. But they said, We will not hearken.
18 Therefore hear, ye nations, and know, O congregation, what is among them.
19 Hear, O earth: behold, I will bring evil upon this people, even the fruit of their thoughts, because they have not hearkened unto my words, nor to my law, but rejected it.
I almost hit the “like” button, but it seemed odd to “like” a statement that speaks of God bringing evil upon a people. But God’s Word is always true and worthy to be “liked” even when it speaks of a coming judgement IF the people refuse to turn back to Him. I always love 2 Chronicles 7:14 but the whole Word of God is profitable for teaching or reproof (2 Tim 2:22). And we learn in Galatians 6:7 that God is not mocked, for whatever one sows, that will he also reap. So even the verses that speak of God bringing or allowing evil to come upon a people that refuse to turn back to Him are valuable for us to understand.
So, thank you figbugly, I liked your posting of Jeremiah 6:16-19. I am praying that we as a people will repent of our sins, walk the good way and hearken to the watchmen He sends to us.
That should be we are on God’s side, but is that really true? Click on the Timeline at

The Republic might not have as much time left as we hope.
I was thinking the same thing, allin, that indeed we are on His side as we humbly follow Him.
I would suggest those who demonstrate the qualities or characteristics of faith, hope, charity, fortitude, justice, temperance, and prudence are in fellowship (communion) with the Lord. Those who have ones of pride, envy, wrath, gluttony, lust, sloth, and greed are
in a fractured relationship with the Lord.
The Son of Man comes “to seek and to save that which was lost.”
We are on God’s side.
Hillary’s Birthday? HAH
Yes, it is, hah!
It’s awesome ?? ?????? love to see it
I think God has a sense of humor!
How do you make God laugh?
Tell him your plans !
lolololol ???
Everyone should send her a case ?
…2 weeks of it is way toooooo long….
Exactly. Had the stupid Republican leadership moved this along rapidly she would have been seated in time to vote on the PA ballot counting extension. But no, we let the Chief Justice do his RINO thing and screw the people who supported him.
you are right about it..we do have real dummies as leaders in Con gress..but they beg for $$$$$$$..they still do not get it …WE KNOW….ms.linda,turtle and minority leader in the
dog/pony house…
Never doubt the republicans’ ability(because of the many RINOs)to muck things up.
They are on the same side.
If pro is the opposite of con, then it logically follows that the opposite of Progress is Congress.
very good!
Has anyone with genuine knowledge of SCOTUS’ scheduling of cases, stated unequivocally that ACB could have been approved in time to hear the PA Ballot deadline case?
Looks like one day in a few cases…
Q&A – What’s The Fastest Supreme Court Nominee …
Search domain wiod.iheart.com/content/2020-09-22-qa-whats-the-fastest-supreme-court-nominee-confirmation/https://wiod.iheart.com/content/2020-09-22-qa-whats-the-fastest-supreme-court-nominee-confirmation/
FDR also had a same-day confirmation in June of 1941. That was the last time a same day confirmation took place. That’s a total of six Supreme Court Justices nominated by five presidents with same day confirmations. It’s only within recent American history, that Supreme Court nominees were viewed through a political lens.
Yes, I guess I meant in recent times. Definitely been politicized by the Left. Thanks for your research WSB.
?
The votes to confirm were there… mcconnell could have called a floor vote immediately, but instead, chose to give the dims/commies time to try to assassinate ACB’s character…
He could call for a floor vote tomorrow, but is now stalling the vote until next Monday…
Take heart. The case was not decided, they just refused to stay the lower court order. A motion to reconsider can be brought to the SC once ACB is seated. Not over yet!
Thank you for clarifying this for people. Everyone here has already been told it a 100 times in the last few days, but it would destroy their narrative of how bad McConnell is regarding judges.
WRONG! He is 100% since he first got elected in 1984 and NO ONE has worked harder with PDJT to remake our country’s judiciary than McConnell.
Prayers up for Judge Barrett and her family to be protected from the negative elements (to understate the matter) as they relocate to the D.C. area.
Amen.
The sooner ACB is confirmed the better to block Roberts from causing any further damage. Time to render him an irrelevant member of the Supreme Court’s leftist minority.
Wonder if he’ll have a coming out party??
In a world where Trump wins Re-Election, I would relish seeing news of Roberts resigning!
Roberts fits to a TEE the adage that DC is the city run by the common belief that everyone has a dirty past and can be leveraged accordingly.
… sure makes a person wonder what the Deep State/Swamp Creatures have on him …
I have seen people ask that before: “What do ‘they’ have on John Roberts?”Don’t let him off the hook so easily.
I don’t think anyone has anything on him. I believe he is voting in the manner he was intended to vote when he was first considered for the SCOTUS by Dubya. That might be why he got 22 dem Senators to vote for him.
Always delay delay delay. Barr refusing to release reports…refusing to investigate Biden…Mike Flynn still a hostage…..Trump continues to fight with one arm tied behind him.
Trump keeps one arm tied behind his back to make it a slight-edge. Otherwise, it would be a blow-out.
Sounds like Rush.
Yeah, I always got a kick out of Rush trying to keep it fair. Lol
Can the Republicans her seated? It is going to be close. John Roberts sent the R’s message yesterday that he will make trouble for anything on the conservative side. I wish that guy all the bad luck that can find his sorry azz.
Once ACB is seated, Roberts will be a eunuch. His “Swing Votes” will STILL lose 5-4.
Sounds like McConnell is reading the tea leaves and expecting Donald Trump to win re-election? And maybe with the Chamber of Commerce openly supporting the left now cocaine Mitch has decided it’s time to flip sides in order to protect his legacy AND his ill-gotten gains!
The Chamber of Commerce should take a chill pill. The greedy bastids can make a LOT of money in Trump’s Main Street restart. They just can’t exploit Asian slave laborers anymore to squeeze out every last drop of profit. And they can’t steal our national
resources or our intellectual property anymore.
Oh.. boo hoo for them. THEY’LL LIVE. (Wish I could say the same for TREASONOUS co- conspirators who commit Capital crimes!)
So dig out those pencils, fellas, and do some more scribbling. It’s called an “amended” business plan, and you’d best climb aboard that Trump train before it leaves the station..
No, McConnell and his ilk happen to like less-activist courts and they gladly support jurists like ACB, Brett K, and all the rest they’ve pushed through in 3 years.
McConnell has been around for years and is no dummy. He can see the overwhelming appeal of ACB and is not going to get overly picky with her appointment, especially just before his planned re-election…..
If the RINOs like her, I won’t be throwing any parties. It’s better than Ginsburg but I’m sure she will spend the next four years stabbing VSG in the back.
Always good to read a little negativity on this site…daily…
Yes, just not enough gloom and doom in the comment sections for my taste
I don’t know about backstabbing Trump, but at the very least she’ll kick Roberts in the balls.
She’ll kick Roberts in the cooter.
A little late there Mitch!
I wonder how these educated in law jurists can’t see the 1st Amendment 4th section about the Legislature being the Branch that dictates the time, place, and manner of elections and not the Judicial Branch? More legislating from the Bench, no?
I am not so sure…lots of important cases yet to be heard

tO ME THE pa DECISION IS A VERY BAD PRECEDENT FOR OTHER CASES BEING HEARD
She will be star on a hill. Wish her the best!
She will be star on a hill. Wish her the best!
Amen to that! As a Scalia acolyte, we can hope that she takes up his mantle and continues his fight to defend the Constitution. The Court is far better with her or someone similar. She will not be a Souter or a Roberts. She knows exactly what she’s getting into, and is prepared to defend liberty and freedom. Once the vote is counted, I for one will sleep better knowing that Roberts will be marginalized by her presence. It’s as big a win as PT could get for his first 4 years (3 SCOUTS appointments, unbelievable!).
Scalia sided with the communists when he decreed that burning the U.S. flag is just fine. I will rest much easier if that decision is overturned before I die.
If you’re wanting perfection as you define it, you will always be frustrated with Justices of the SCOTUS. The goal is to get most of what you want. There are always nuances and procedural complications that non-lawyers don’t understand. I know that’s not an enjoyable reality. And there are very rarely cases the Justices screw the pooch in from our view. It’s the best we can expect.
But I absolutely agree with you. The Flag is sacrosanct. Burning, defacing, even not following proper protocol for displaying, is to me a deep offense. I love flying my flag in a neighborhood full of Demonazis in Montgomery County MD. I am quite alone!
Looked to me like he has cold sores, rash, break-out around his mouth.
In doing a little research: Big Risk with these maskers….self contamination and mask mouth, facial bacterial break-outs.
At some point, the smart people need to WISE-UP to this political farce.
Exactly!
Masks are not healthy to begin with, but especially risky for extended wearing times.
Dr Blaylock ( a neurosurgeon) says extended mask wearing leads to hypoxia, the first sign of which is a headache.
https://www.jpost.com/health-science/could-wearing-a-mask-for-long-periods-be-detrimental-to-health-628400?
And Dr. Margarite Griesz-Brisson (also a neurosurgeon) says prolonged mask wearing for hours daily for months, especially in children, causes brain damage.
https://davidicke.com/2020/10/16/german-neurologist-warns-against-wearing-facemasks-oxygen-deprivation-causes-permanent-neurological-damage-dr-margarite-griesz-brisson/
Blaylock is correct and not alone in giving that word of caution. Hypoxia – I have already experienced it and is why I refuse to wear a mask for more than a few minutes to get in past the “mask Gestapo” at the door to any store.
Yep. Antibiotic-resistant Staph infections.
I believe she will follow the law; whether it suits us or not.
Agree, and that’s the way it should be, period.
i think on the highly sensitive cases she will be successful in preserving time honored and correct reading of our fantastic constitution. on matters such as S230.,its really hard to predict..its a very complicated subject…one that has authentism on both sides of the debate.
with the right case… I think she does right with ACA and roe vs wade. but this imagines other justices remain consistent.
the case i am looking forward to seeing is the Flynn case.
a. time limits for judges to rule on motions to dismiss when the prosecutor has withdrawn and there exists no case.
b. the constitutional legality of the secret fisc.
c. personal liability suits against federal officials who by prosecutoral misconduct and criminal fraud have targeted and harmed a defendant ..
Just wish she would have been on the bench for the recent Pensylvania ‘late unpostmarked ballot’ decision. I’m assuming the matter can be revisited, post-election, if needed…?
From what I read, the ballots can only be counted up to 72 hours after polls close and are required to be in their security envelopes with a postmark no later than Nov 3rd.
But illegible postmarks will be counted valid.
Originally the PA.order did not allow ballots to be thrown due to mismatched signatures.
I hope that is not still true.
Get it done Mitch, you’re cutting it a little close but better now than later.
The actual vote count is not the issue. Having a 51 senator quorum, to actually conduct the vote, is the the real risk.
Bring any sick ones in on a stretcher in bubble wrap if necessary.
Treepers, this week is going to be a rollercoaster. The release of more materials on Biden will take us to Thursday and the debate. It’s going to be interesting
Your right! Which reminds me…I need more wine!
I hope they do the swearing in ceremony the same day.
I don’t think the sky is falling. I believe that judge Barrett is credible whether she changes later no one can say.
Again I am thankful that we have a patriot in the White House who sacrificed himself in order that we may see the true nature of the beast.
He challenged the beast, the beast couldn’t resist it came after him and all of us with eyes to see did see. Not only do we know, we have seen the beast.
Those who are not able to see well I think in some crazy way the beast has managed to blind them. In the conclusion you just have say many saw the beast and the rest were blinded.
Dear Chuck,
PDT has 6 ways from Sunday to get back at ya, ???.
Put that in your pipe and smoke it. Karma baby, karma??
Much love
Johnny Bravo – ??…?
Chuckie – ?…?
Yep H.R. ✌️
Cryin’ Chuck another politician with a punchable ? face
Johnny B — Oh yes — ain’t that the truth!!! Punchable to the max!
Yes…That seems to be the most universally recognizable feature of every politician. Like they have “Punch Me” tattooed across the forehead.
I laugh when they were screaming that the republican fell back on their word with Garland and the responds back was something to the effect that what the Dems did to Brett that all civility is out the window.
One more win to check off. Hope PDT gets to add a couple more to the SC to make the majority vote a foregone conclusion for decades to come.
The little squirt debate monitor will be muting Biden more than Trump. Biden can’t go two sentences without going off on a convoluted tangent she won’t want voters to experience.
I wouldn’t bet my bottom dollar on that if I was you…
Lol
Why even bother with hearings? Lincoln nominated Salmon P. Chase to replace Chief Justice Taney who had died, and Chase was approved THE SAME DAY.
Is there any procedural reason that it’s taking this long?
Not a rhetorical question, as I really don’t know.
TIA for any enlightenment on this.
no…the senate establishes the rules.. the rules are fluid… they can change moment to moment
the reason for the delays are twofold
a. optics. political optics. confirming in rapid fashion gives the “right” perception that the Senate is giving this decision the benefit of time to commiserate and contemplate this serious matter. they will confirm but they will ALSO be lobbying disloyal members who are not okay with this. there will be terms set and promises made during this to motivate those who are objecting.
b. this delay also allows members to leverage their vote and this hard deadline for all sorts of immediate agendas to be fulfilled as well those that will come to the floor later. it’s basically members establishing priorities they each desire in return for their support in this confirmation. and yes… it’s about money and funds for reelection and a host of pork barrell. some will want get out of jail cards. some will privately attempt to transact with POTUS for special favors…in other words… blackmail…quid pro joe level corruption.
whether trump agrees is yet to be determined.. the senate is very powerful.
the outcome will be a confirmation but there will certainly be favors and compromises made.
DC…its what they do. side hustles exploiting Every single situation where a vote can be used as cash.
Thank you, Regitiger, for this detailed explanation and apparently well informed observation and analysis.
I suspect McConnell has considered the potential impact of voting “yes” (on a nomination that the MSM and DNC have convinced many voters is unfair) will have on close senate races. By the 26th many people will have already voted before the negative ads are released about Senators like Tillis and McSally voting “yes”.
thanks… that’s likely the primary reason for delay.
McConnell is very well informed and tuned in.
They need to make sure Roberts has time to muck up all the election law changes to hurt President Trump.
Lincoln didn’t have to contend with never-Trumpers like mcconnell
No, just the Confederate Democrat sympathizers from both parties in what was left of Congress after the secession. (Fewer in number than Never-Trumpers.)
Lincoln had his fair share of pain in the ass cabinet members. Team of Rivals.
Who in the heck would name their son salmon? Imagine if he ran track in school. Come on down for the salmon run.
I’m Joe Biden and I forgot this message.
LOL! Actually, the boy’s name Salmon has Hebrew roots and it means “peace”. Not bad, actually.
I saw the redundancy the moment I hit Post.
I suppose one can be called a lot of things, but I’m sure those who had the privilege of seeing his likeness on their own $10,000 bills weren’t complaining. Cashing in a Wilson bill ($100,000 bill) for ten Salmons is a step up. /s
Could be going forward from 26 Oct Chief Injustice Roberts vote will be meaningless. Roberts usefulness to the deep state will be gone. Roberts could then be offered an honorable retirement rather than having his crimes be exposed to the public. Roberts would most likely retire after PDJT gets re-elected.
Might be the ‘Rona but maybe Mitch has been hitting the bottle more than usual. I would if I were him!
Take your winnamins!
Judge Barrett is clearly accomplished and will likely be an excellent judge for the 30 plus years she is likely to be on the SC.
Whilst their religious beliefs should not guide the judges, I find it a little strange that the religion of the majority in the US, Protestantism, by my calculation still does not have a representative on the SC. The Court being divided between those of Catholic and Jewish backgrounds.
Has anyone here got a view as to how this has happened?
Probably previous discrimination by ivy league schools? They do seem to be over-represented in ivy league law schools.
Isn’t Gorsuch Protestant?
He’s Catholic, but he attends Episcopal church with his family.
Maybe because they get wine with them little pizzas on Sundays.
thats funny.
@ JohninMK… Re: Has anyone here got a view as to how this has happened?
This is totally off the cuff as I’ve done zero research on that; but, I think most SCOTUS justices have been lawyers; and, it has been my casual observation that there are more Jewish lawyers than Protestant. Don’t know about Catholic lawyers…
The difference between Catholics and Protestants is, mostly, imaginary or contrived.
Despite all the crap thrown at him, PDJT manages yet another win in a string of wins. And this one will pays dividends for years to come.
Waiting for the Dems to invent an issue or challenge an obscure element of ACB’s FBI investigation and demand, together with Collins, Murkowski + 2 “concerned” RINOs TBD, “clarification” that cannot be completed prior to Nov.3.
Recall that Collins used this gambit to stall BK’s vote in hopes of somehow derailing the confirmation.
Nothing is too dishonest or too despicable for the Dems.
I do not trust Senator Collins in representing Maine or anything else much of importance.
But this one Sara Gideon, challenging her for her seat in the Senate is the sort that I would not ever let out of my sight.
I hear the voice of a 4 year old and coming around the quarter pole is blasey ford. Barely over the trauma of nearly being killed by Kavanaugh, she was sold as a sex slave to ACB. She didn’t want to come forward but it is her civic duty. She’s represented by Avanati who has been spared prison by the virus. Going to be interesting right up to the time for a vote.
I hope this post gets no “likes”
The Turtle will get this done, as promised.
One of the few things he has been in synch with Trump on….judges.
Might get lucky and have her not approved, then throw the Senate over to the Communist the following Tuesday. That’s winning in my book/Cocaine Mitch (TRAITOR)
If only we could get rid of Roberts…… traitor, Commie Dem puppet……makes judgements on Stalinist Ideaology instead of on laws and the Constitution
IMO he committed his last sabotage against Trump…..
Remember the RNC/GOP can refilled the PA stay and thus the 4-4 tie in the SC that kept the lower court ruling in place.
But they MUST get ACB confirmed so if they confirm her on the 26th, they will absolutely refill with the SC who now will have a full court of 9 and with PA being under Alito for emergency rulings, should most likely accept the refilling and ACB will get to cast the deciding vote even without Roberts.
Cutting it close but we need McConnell to push this through and don’t lose more than 3
I am all for this confirmation, and will be glad it turns the court toward Conservative, or rather toward the Constitution for it’s rulings, but Roberts is a problem. I’m not positive about how long the court would lean Constitutionally based, as we have some justices who might be heading toward retirement. Should that happen and (God forbid) Biden wins, the court could easily flip back liberal.
I also am concerned about the left packing the court. I would put nothing past them in their quest for power. Should a leftist take over the country, they will keep it through any and all means they can.
Barrett being placed on the COurt helps, but President Trump winning reelection is critical.
Just think how our history would have changed had COCAINE MITCH put the Senate in recess . That has led to all this crap, approved by the TRAITOR.. Is Trump the only President in our history to NEVER be granted a recess appointment?
Mitch has taken too long already (missed the PA ruling). Don’t cut it so close. Dems are busy trying to dig up dirt or make deals with Republican Senators to change their vote. After the way the Dems have abused President Trump they deserve no respect.
“Without the votes to stop Barrett’s ascent, Democrats have few options left. They are searching for two more GOP senators to break ranks and halt confirmation, but that seems unlikely.”
Take a page from President Trump’s book and GET IT DONE.
McConnell probably agreed to wait until Monday so that the Senators that are up for re-election can have this weekend to do their in-State campaigning.
I believe you may be right
The scrambling on the floor of the sausage factory is more complex than most realize
On October 6, 2018 the Senate confirmed Judge Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court with a 50–48 vote. Justice Kavanaugh was sworn in as the 114th justice of the Supreme Court on the evening of October 6, 2018.
Yes! Same day!
I don’t want conservatives on the Supreme Court.
I want Constitutionalists on the Supreme Court.
Judge Amy Coney Barrett seems to fill that bill admirably.
The Democrats don’t seem to grasp that a “conservative” justice isn’t an ideological activist for the Right.
Hurry up, before Roberts does any more damage.
I have the distinct impression that had Barrett been sitting on the court the Pennsylvania ballot box stuffing decision would have been quashed 5-4.
They need to get her confirmed so that we can have a 5-4 majority.
I have my issues with Mitch, as we all do. But sometimes the guy just cracks me up. His sense of drama (i.e. cutting this SO close in both time and vote count), while at the same time acting all innocent (“Who, me? I had nothing to do with this, Dems.”) is really fascinating to watch.
