Sally Yates Testifies to Senate Judiciary – Main Justice Deflects, Pointing Fingers At FBI…

The Senate testimony of former Deputy AG Sally Yates is ongoing. So far the Yates responses to questioning are predictable in the extreme.  [The Mistresses of Mirrored Halls – 2017 ]

It was always visible that when the Main Justice small group would be questioned they would deflect accountability by pointing blame toward the responsibilities of the FBI. That is exactly what Sally Yates is doing.

  1. Krashman Von Stinkputin says:

    According to Sally “Logan” Yates
they were NOT surveilling the campaign
    the were surveilling Carter Page
because he may have been approached with Russian “dirt”
to help the campaign that he was no longer with.

Apparently, in their zeal to remain ethical….
The DOJ simply “forgot” to give Trump a defensive briefing that his volunteer former campaign worker may have been working with the Russians to help his campaign when he was a volunteer current campaign worker.

Sorry Sally…..too early in the day for this to work.
    I’m only 1 martini in……..
Try again later….. when when I’m finishing up the 6th.

        Think you missed my point.
Cruz said it best: “You can’t have it both ways”
You can’t say you WERE investigating the campaign and WERE NOT investigating the campaign.

PapaD’s London bar convo with the Australian Poobah was their “source” to support all of this.
(Azra Turk/Stephan Halper came up goose egg)
PapaD had a problem (according to their “theory”) in that he didn’t meet a necessary criteria:
        1) He knew no Russians
        2) He had never been to Russia
So how would PapaD get the “offered dirt”?
They need other campaign folk that met that criteria, which is how they teleported the investigation over to Page, Manafort and Flynn who did.

The FBI literally says this in the EC Closing Crossfire Razor released in the DOJs Motion to Dismiss (Exhibit 1, Page 1)
        HERE:https://www.documentcloud.org/documents/6883959-Flynn-Govt-Motion-to-Dismiss.html#document/p1

“The FBI predicated the (Crossfire Razor-CR) investigation on predetermined criteria set forth by the CROSSFIRE HURRICANE (CH) investigative team based on an assessment of reliable lead information received during the course of the investigation.
“Downer’s” (or was it or maybe Erika Thompson’s) PapaD bar tale

Specifically, CR was cited as an adviser to then Republican presidential candidate DONALD J. TRUMP for foreign policy issues since February 2016; CR had ties to various state-affiliated entities of the Russian Federation, as reported by open source information ; and CR traveled to Russia in December 2015, as reported by
        open source information.”

In other words, the math works like this:
        The PapaD bar story PLUS
        Flynn:
        Worked for Trump
        Knew Russians
        Went to Russia
(According to ‘INTEL” available from NEWSPAPER and TV REPORTS)

Booyah! A “properly predicated” CounterIntel Investigation.
It worked the same way for Page.
Not sure about Manafort because the DRAGON CI investigation remains unidentified.

where do you get they had a tape of PapaD with Misfud (is that the Turkey spy you’re referring to? He’s not Turkish or do you mean Azar Turk the FBI honey pot sting?). That doesn’t align with IG, Mueller report, PapaD’s own record or Downers own record… the timeline is correct.

Footnote 499 of the Mueller report:
499: No documentary evidence, and nothing in the email accounts or other communications facilities reviewed by the Office, shows that Papadopoulos shared this information with the Campaign.

They have plenty of CHS tapes of PapaD.

PapaD investigation was called CROSSFIRE TYPHOON (CT) and the transcripts (of at least some) were released and in every one he vehemently denies there is any cooperation with Russians.

            HERE:https://www.judiciary.senate.gov/imo/media/doc/2020-04-24%20Submission%20SJC%20SSCI.pdf

These were NOT the source they used to start the investigation.

If there is a tape of either Downer’s bar meet with PapaD on May 10, 2016
or Erika Thompson’s May 6 meet with PapaD it has not been released.

The FBI claims that PapaD told DOWNER the story about “Russian dirt”.
            However this is murky.
Downer had his bar meet on MAY 10 (confirmed by his own calendar) and to an Australian newspaper wasn’t even sure PapaD mentioned anything at all.
            HERE:https://www.theaustralian.com.au/nation/inquirer/alexander-downer-signing-off/news-story/02cd18d37828c8957bfb62b18e411595
but Mueller deceptively conflates a DIFFERENT date in his report.
            Page 97.
“On May 6, 2016, 10 days after that meeting with Mifsud, Papadopoulos suggested to a representative of a foreign government that the Trump Campaign had received indications from the Russian government that it could assist the Campaign through the anonymous release of information that would be damaging to Hillary Clinton”

According to PapaD on May 6 he met with Downer’s assistant Erika Thompson and Christian Cantor (an Israeli diplomat).
According to the Aug 2 Scope memo…PapaD was targeted for FARA violation’s with ISRAEL.
My hunch: if there is a recording of PapaD repeating Mifsud’s claim it is either
            Cantors or Thompson’s.

Lou Dobbs has accurately described how the 2 hops work on his show, and pretty recently.

Dan Bongino has explained it at length, at least 50 times, on his podcasts, so I suspect he has probably brought it up on his shorter Fox apperances (thought that would be the Cliff Notes version).

I think even Howie Carr’s show, which is a bit more slanted towards entertainment, has mentioned it…

And like you, I explain it to people as often as I can!

All this pretty well bears out sundance’s point that Congress is insulated and purposefully unaware of many things we all know here.

It also bears out Dan B’s verdict that we are being governed by a couple hundred of the stupidest people on the planet.

I agree it would be good to get the DOJ and FBI miscreants to publicly acknowledge and explain the two-hop rule to the public. I would also like to hear them explain why Carter Page was never charged with being a spy for Russia since the FISA applications and extensions say he is. And whenever these deep state witnesses get puffed up with righteous indignation about the dastardly attack on our democracy, they should be immediately reminded that Mueller was too chicken to bring to trial the only Russians that were indicted.

She lied about the origins of the investigation – she claimed PapaD said Russians had Hillary’s emals, and then those emails were released, but it wasn’t Hillary’s emails that were released (it was the DNC’s through the Podesta hack). The Obama folks have relied on people not making this distinction from the beginning.

Because people get confused about which emails are which and perpetuate misunderstandings I’d like to clarify. There were 3 Servers: 1) Hillary’s Private Server, 2) the DNC Server and 3) Podesta’s Server.

Emails from the DNC Server and Podesta’s Server were both shared with Wikileaks and made public. No one disputed the fact that Podesta’s emails were accessed by phishing.

The accusation that the “Russians hacked the DNC Server” is the primary FALSE allegation in the Intel Report issued by Comey, Clapper and Brennan in early January 2017. The DNC Server was never examined by any law enforcement agency including the FBI. The only entity to examine the DNC Server was CrowdStrike. And the CEO of CrowdStrike testified under oath to the HPSCI in 2018 that they were only able to determine that data had been removed, not how or by whom. In today’s hearing Lindsey Graham again stated the lie that the “Russians had hacked the DNC Server”.

When Candidate Trump jokingly asked at a rally in the Summer 2016 if Putin could help find Hillary’s 33,000 missing emails he was referring to Hillary’s Private Server.

That would be covered in yesterday’s post – “Point….”

Which detailed the outside contractors used the NSA database for information to conduct insider trading. Joe Sixpack in flyover, USA can understand that conveyed in a 30 second to 2 minute news clip.

I am not a fan of Sally Yates, but at least she is not repeating “I do not recall, Senator”, which was a common response during the Whitewater hearings chaired by Sen. Alfonse D’Amato so many years ago.

I notice Ms. Yates has an opinion about the current DOJ dropping the Flynn prosecution, (unheard of!) but constrains herself on the merits of firing James Comey when it comes to Rod Rosenstein and his memo. Also, Comey supposedly went over her head to Obama and over her head to exonnerate Hillary(since Lynch was recused). I’d fire that dude in a nanosecond and so would she if she wasn’t in on this.

Poor performance overall. I’ve seen tougher questioning on Oprah. Yates tripped over herself several times and there were some good nuggets to follow-up on, but no one really stepped up to the challenge. And no one pushed back on her saying no bias was found by the IG, when Horrible Horowitz wrote that he did not find “documentary” evidence of bias.

What is comical is that she went to the Trump defense, saying that IG report was exhaustive, a million documents reviewed, hundreds interviewed, and no bias found, so that should be the end of it (no DOJ/FBI bias), but when Herr Mueller issued 500 subpoenas, interviewed hundreds, etc. etc., and found no collusion, his report should be the death of the Russia collusion narrative. But his report was not, according to Sly Sally, conclusive on no Russia interference. Nope. All his report meant was there was “insufficient evidence” of collusion.

Note also from her today the new, shifting Flynn narrative: now Flynn was lying to “cover up” the content of his call with Kislyak, so they had to protect POTUS/WH from Flynn’s “cover up.” This is why Flynn’s interview was “absolutely” material, according to Yates.

She also waffled on giving an opinion when she did not want to, but when her opinion was favorable to the Dems talking points, out spewed her opinion.

I suffered through her entire testimony of lies. I’d rank this as one of the more pointless hearings, since Graham repeatedly insisted he believed Yates didn’t knowingly defraud the FISA (she damn well did).

She did contradict herself when she said she DID review the FISA applications, yet told the IG she did not “recollect” reviewing the FISA applications. While technically not an absolute contradiction, the weasel words are there betraying her lies.

And again, Democrats continue to equivocate on Russian interference attempts into our elections, and Muh Rusha Clooshun. 100% of the left are happy that dumb people don’t understand the difference.

38:00 minute mark, she testifies that they learned from Papadopolous about Russia’s offer to aid with the release of emails, and spins it to helping the Trump campaign. They did nit learn from Papadopolous at all. They got it from Downer who relayed it thru the Embassy after Trump was nominated. This allowed the cabal to start Crossfire Hurricane. Downer a few days later emphasized to Strzok in a personal interview in London that the information they had was inaccurate, there was no mention of an “offer” on the presence of damaging emails. She continues the lie that started it all. When they got back they used “analytics” to determine who else in the campaign could be entrapped and walla! Flynn, Page and Mananfort. They had no premise to go forward at all let alone expand the net. They continued to press Papadapolous, even after they knew he had nothing but hearsay. Then full bore into Flynn, Page and Manafort… with NO EVIDENCE of any offer at all… so they just made stuff up along the way. And there is the deputy AG cluelessly spewing the same narrative.

It amazes me how the Democrats bring up how it is a crime to lie to the FBI (Flynn) and how it breaks the law but never mention how Comey, McCabe, Clapper, , Brennan, and so many others lied to the FBI and Congress and nothing was ever done. They do this every time but what really gets me is none of the Republican’s ever call’em out on it. Shameful!! Such a waste of time and tax dollars.

I have more faith in Sidney Powell, Sundance, Nunes, Sarah Carter and others than I do in this lovely sweet and kind Senate hearing. Lindsey Graham should just hug her and tell her he loves because she is so kind and sweet. Just get it over with. He is on their side and he is not even pretending. When is he going to ask her if she thinks he is cute and adorable like teddy bear?
