Sequencing the Resistance Process Through Likely Legislative Action – Tools: Cohen, Mueller, Horowitz…

There are three key congressional events likely in the first quarter of 2019. The sequencing of those events will be key to the “Resistance” political year.

The baseline is that Democrat leadership are cunning political strategists; and have likely already drawn out the big picture road-map with details to be filled in as they proceed.

  • The first event is the congressional use of Michael Cohen for a series of public committee hearings. [Oversight (Elijah Cummings) and possibly -though less likely- Judiciary (Nadler) and HPSCI (Schiff)] This likely has to happen before March 6th, 2019, when Cohen is scheduled to enter federal prison. It’s almost certain Cohen’s incarceration deferment contains the unwritten agreement to appear. [Democrat leadership almost certainly coordinated this plan with team Mueller and the SDNY some time ago.]
  • The second event is the release of the Team Mueller political report which, despite its inability to find criminal wrongdoing, will most certainly be written with highly charged innuendo as damaging to President Trump as possible. The release of this report will absolutely fuel several public committee hearings [Oversight/Reform (Cummings), HPSCI (Schiff) and Judiciary (Nadler)] without any doubt.
  • The third event is the release of the OIG Horowitz report on possible FISA abuse. Due to the nature of Mueller’s proprietary investigative blackout (Horowitz not allowed to  see investigative material or witnesses with Mueller probe ongoing), the Horowitz report will  likely come out *after* Mueller.

That’s the three key events the Democrats and media will be most likely to exploit for maximum political benefit in the first quarter of 2019.   The sequence between Mueller and Horowitz might reverse (though unlikely and I’ll explain later). Other investigative resistance paths will spur from these three primary Q1 events.

Again, there is very little doubt the approach has already been mapped out in post-election meetings between: Nancy Pelosi, Chuck Schumer, the Democrat committee heads, allies in the lawfare community, political allies inside the executive branch (IC, DOJ, FBI etc.), along with feedback from political networks, DNC (Perez) and major resistance donors.

The real trick to discovering the plan (as early as possible) will be to spot the signals that will tell us where they are going before they shift in their planned direction. Example: We already know Michael Cohen is a key starting point (aforementioned reasons).

To better understand the Resistance landscape, next let’s look at: (1) the most reasonable predictions for committee structure; (2) the new Gang of Eight line-up; and (3) the broad political alliances that are also predictable.

Key Committee Structure – The House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence (HPSCI) will likely be Chairman Adam Schiff and ranking member Devin Nunes.  The House Judiciary Committee will be Chaired by Jerry Nadler and ranking member Doug Collins.  The House Oversight and Reform Committee will be Chairman Elijah Cummings and ranking member Jim Jordan.

Gang of Eight (IC Oversight) – The Go8 line-up will be radically different in 2019 and far more adversarial to the executive branch.  Ranked by influence over IC:

  1. Nancy Pelosi (D) – Speaker of House.
  2. Adam Schiff (D) – Chair, HPSCI
  3. Senator Mitch McConnell (R) – Senate Majority Leader
  4. Senator Richard Burr  (R) –  Chair, SSCI
  5. Kevin McCarthy (R) – Minority Leader House.
  6. Senator Chuck Schumer (D) – Senate Minority Leader
  7. Devin Nunes (R) – Ranking Member HPSCI
  8. Senator Mark Warner (D) – Vice Chair, SSCI

The Broad Political Alliances – Overlaying the DC political alliances within the intelligence community Gang of Eight you see a resistance ratio of 7:1 against the executive branch.

Pelosi, Schiff, McConnell, Burr, McCarthy, Schumer and Warner all allied with the overall UniParty resistance objective; and only Devin Nunes as an ally to the White House.  That’s a ration of 7:1 in favor of “The DC Resistance” against the Executive Branch.

That’s the landscape.

So if we take the first quarter resistance events/narratives (¹Cohen appearance, ²Mueller Report and ³Horowitz report); and we overlay what has already surfaced; we can then begin to get a picture of how things will reasonably be expected to play out.

SC Robert Mueller (the team, not the person) and DAG Rod Rosenstein have already explained to POTUS Trump that if he attempts any declassification of documents currently part of Mueller’s investigative purview (that’s literally everything and or anything they lay claim to), the Special Counsel investigative unit will consider that interference with their investigation of him (President Trump).   That threat, and the advice of White House lawyers (prior counsel no longer present), led to Trump backing down in September:

[Obviously “speed” is a relative term, it’s soon to be 4 months]

So it stands to reason if they (Rosenstein, Mueller, etc.) are telling the president he can’t take any action,…. common sense says the same general ‘hands-off‘ principle would apply to DOJ Inspector General Michael Horowitz; who is ultimately under much more of the institutional DOJ control system than President Trump.

See the issue?  As time progresses, and with hindsight as a corruption guide, it becomes more clear how Robert Mueller has been playing his cards.  Horowitz is frozen in place by an inability to see evidence until Mueller says he’s finished with his investigation.

[While it is absolutely blood-boiling to witness, that professional DOJ hoodwinking -the inherent ‘catch 22‘- is the administrative state doing some of its finest work. See the scale of it? There’s no-one to technically hold accountable, it’s the system self-actuated.  This is an example of why you can never be cynical enough when it comes to DC.]

The Democrats take control on January 3rd, 2019, (next Thursday) – they will likely utilize the first two weeks of compliant media coverage to spike the football and position maximum demoralization toward their new minority party republican colleagues.

The Democrats will have to balance the level of smug condescension (which the media and their base are looking forward to) with their visible faux-apoplexy toward the current appropriations battle and government shut down.   They will pat the republicans on the head and position themselves as the professionals in charge now.

If we extend the sequencing with all the above in mind it looks like the House Oversight Committee (Cummings) and House Judiciary Committee (Nadler) will likely kick the resistance operation into action (after Superbowl) with Michael Cohen’s scheduled appearances broadcast on television for the better part of two weeks use.

That first phase event will likely be followed by a late Feb/early March dropping of the Mueller report.  There will be a grand lead-in, roll-out and press spectacle designed for maximum exposure.  The tail end of that phase will lead to more hearings throughout March perhaps into early April with subpoenas based on the report framework.

Again, remember these are Democrats.  This stuff is already planned out in the broad strokes.  The upcoming congressional calendar has all of these events considered. Pelosi and Schumer have told their key underlings of preliminary vacation blackout dates etc.  Nothing professional democrats do is without specific intent, purposeful design and well communicated organization.  This is what they do. This is all they do.

While these events are happening the HPSCI will be demanding discovery from the White House and intelligence apparatus that will be spurred by Cohen and Mueller.  The DOJ and FBI will find a new interest in congressional compliance especially given the House General Counsel, Douglas Letter, is one of their allied Resistance members.

On the positive side for Team Trump, once Mueller actually presents a report – his operational leverage over the White House will be effectively over.

Mueller (the team, not the individual) will be handing the Resistance baton to their allies in congress; and the team will then set off for a well indulged, stunningly compensated, media tour which will likely include numerous advanced offers from Hollywood types for movie rights. Most of them will enjoy job offers from major networks and political allies.

Seldom do such events go as planned…Remember JA knows enough to sink the ship…and likely has or knows who has the answer and some evidence on who hit Seth R. Will we come full circle back to where this started?

Facebook,Google,Twitter etc have been incrementally strangling conservative opinion. When the sxxxt comes down sites like CTH and Breitbart might be blocked without warning. I hope we have other options worked out. Murdoch must be under some pressure. If FOX opinion is neutered DS has a big victory. It is infuriating watching the DS position their impeachment tanks on the lawn.

If Trump were to be removed from office, Pence would take his place; if Pence got removed, Nancy Pelosi would be President. What would preclude thus scenario from unfolding, given the weak opposition represented by the Republicans?

Several posters here, and sundance in an earlier article believe, Barr will be ineffective or worse. SD stated he will merely “maintain the status quo.” (Partial SD quote from MACAULAY’s 5:02 pm post)

SD didn’t mention Barr at all in the above article so it appears that the Trump admin. will be stuck on defense with an ineffective or pro Uniparty A/G and that replacing Session’s will make no difference at all.

If this is true, then the Dems will have a very Happy New Year.

A few positive individuals in this gloomy prediction are the loyal and principled members of the Freedom Caucus and maybe Lindsey Graham and a few others in the Senate that will no doubt fight back as much as they can. But talk will be their only weapon and they’ll be largely ignored by the MSM and the majority of GOP Reps in their own party so it’s not much of a consolation prize for Trump supporters.

I have to believe that while the deep state holds a few cards PDJT also has a few. Sure they told him don’t declassify those reports or we’ll get you…but depending on what ole mullie writes in his report and the almost gusto hysterical reaction that follows from the Dems, what would compel Trump to not declassify? IMHO what we have is a Mexican standoff. All Trump has to do is not flinch first. You can bet that some democrat will over play their hand, they always do. We know what the DoJ, Clinton, Obama and our so called allies have done in terms of spygate. But the vast majority of voters are blissfully unaware of the details. Should the Dems try to paint Trump into a corner, I believe he will unleash it all on them. But what do I know.

I don’t post much anymore, but I do read Sundance and many of the comments. I see two camps within the CTH crowd. One is getting more militant, and the other has turned up the volume on their whistling in the dark. At some point maybe we meet in the middle and try making our voices heard more without having to put on yellow vests.

Risa, I am a proponent of a massive peaceful march on the DOJ and FBI headquarters. I believe if millions of patriots showed up, not only would the media be forced to cover it, but both POTUS and the deep state would get the message that we want it fixed.

There is only one thing they fear, which is an armed conflict. But right now they have no fear because we are as sound asleep and complacent as were the Europeans until it was too late. Europe will never be the same again. It has gone over the cliff. People seldom react to slow creep until it is too late.

Like yourself, I seldom post but read daily and your comment struck a nerve for me. I feel that we have reached the same point that Lincoln characterized as “a house divided against itself”. This time, instead of the question of slavery, it is the question as to whether there is an equal application of the law, which in many ways is exactly the same conundrum that Lincoln addressed. Lincoln asked, how does a country advance the concept of freedom while maintaining the institution of slavery? Today, we are faced with the question of how does a nation claim the concept of equal justice and the rule of law when it is readily apparent that there are laws us the people and laws for the rulers. I am for a “yellow vest” movement and if it doesn’t prove effective then the adoption of Jefferson’s remediation as delineated in the Declaration becomes necessary. In any case, it must be stopped and fixed as this nation will not stand if allowed to continue. My oath to defend the Constitution, taken many years ago and honorably kept is still valid to me. If not now, when?

We all, I mean at least the readers of this site, there is no GOP/Dems – there is only Uniparty in D.C. It is the failure of the electorate to not recognize the good President Trump is doing for America and its future generation.

I hope that the spectacle that they will put on in 2019 and 2020 will be enough to awaken the slumbering electorate and truly elect MAGA candidates for President Trump’s next term.

It has to be MAGA against Uniparty in D.C. from 2020 to 2024 and that I believe will be a chapter worth reading for the future generations and for us to tell to our future generation(s). I agree with Sundance, we are living inside history.

When I started writing my comment, my original thought was inclined towards your conclusion. But by the end somehow it seemed that it is way too negative. How many of us had the same feeling on election night 2016 that our guy will lose? That day too I held on to hope and today again I choose to do the same.

I strongly believe that God gives us what we think – if we are positive then positive things are bound to happen and if we are negative then negative things are bound to happen. For now, I am choosing to be positive and I pray that there are many more like me.

I am having a feeling that post 2020, President Trump is going to be on a rampage in dismantling the deep state and corrupt judiciary. This is not my wishful thinking. BUt for this to happen his supporters and fans have a herculean task of first getting him reelected and even more importantly also elect the MAGA candidates that will support his agenda from 2020 to 2024.

      • Sadly, it now appears that the brief window in time that God gave His American children, in the form of a ‘Pause Button’ via Trump’s ‘impossible’ election, is being largely wasted due to the corrupt UniParty Deep State. I fear for our only recourse once Trump is gone!

I would add that for most people, fully occupied with making a living and for those trying to raise a family, they depend on the TV media to supply the news. People who do not actively seeks out quality news and information sources just absorb the poison that they are fed every day.
We are seeing the effect of decades of ever-more-Leftist propaganda in what was once ‘News’. A good percentage of the population do not even realize they are being lied to day in and day out by the minions of the ‘news’ and ‘entertainment’ moguls.

@Sundance: Superbly stated in chronological order by the scheme-team aka democrats and complicit republicans. There is no doubt about their plans as you stated it poignantly!

There is always a ‘but’ too as there are two sides in all of this. We know the Pelosi/Schumer plan but we can also be sure that president Trump and his team also have a plan. Their plan differs as it is designed to put America First.

These two plans are like night and day and have nothing in common ergo expect fireworks originating with president Trump.
The declassification and FISA document drop has long since approved by Horowitz et al and signed by president Trump. For reasons known to him and his team together with the various white hats it is delayed due to national security necessity.

To make this move there were numerous steps that had to be taken to take control of items/methods and weapons still owned by the deep state that could have brought harm to American citizens.
One such example was the discovery of Hussein and HRC selling nukes to rogue actors. They had to be neutralized. Then there were all the secret pardons Hussein entered into records meaning that ‘new’ crimes by these deep state actors after 20 January 2017 had to be collected and documented since he pardoned all of them right before he left office. Together with the clean-up of the DOJ, FBI and NSA as well as within the military command prolonged the declassification. Also included in this are the many rogue and compromised judges sitting in courts that are needed to successfully prosecute those not directly guilty of sedition and treason. Eliminating their rogue satellites and more was another issue all together best left to be described by military members more familiar in how far the CIA/MI6 et al went to secure the destruction of this country according to their plan titled: “The 16 Year Plan to Destroy America”.

President Trump is in a conundrum because if all of their treason and actions would be made public many countries would declare war on America after realizing how much meddling ‘they’ did.
There is so much more! President Putin knows all of it and could expose it all ergo our president is walking a fine line to approach all of it while preventing an all-out war against America by countries injured by these deep state actors.

In the end the plan and agenda hatched by the globalists and the DC swamp will not succeed. It just can’t!

The feds already planning to manipulate the markets implementing steep inclines on the stock marked in 2019 only to destroy and collapse the market just in time for the 2020 election preventing there-election of president.

God willing – the democrats plan will be thwarted in full. There are many good people worldwide who are white hats assisting president Trump and his plan to neutralize the traitors within our own borders and their partners abroad.

Surely we need God’s Mercy in helping all of us to right all these wrongs because if we don’t it’s over for us ergo Pray and Pray hard!

This is the only one chance and opportunity we have to end the conquest attempt by this Luciferian empire trying to destroy us while enslaving us at the same time!

Left out of House and Senate subversives’ all too evident “low peasant cunning” is Trump himself.

For all the media hype and gabbling inanities, truth is that Gangrenous’ extraordinarily corrupt IC conspiracy to politicize CIA, DIA, FBI et al. (the Brennan-Clapper-Comey axis plus waddling Loretta Lynch’s DOJ) needs only a well-planted kick to bring it down.

As a means to cementing 43’s [not 44] Jarrett Administration ploys regarding mullah-dullahs’ Iranian New Caliphate, Putin’s $145-million Rosatom/Uranium One payout to MzBill and Wild Willy, China’s K-Street “exfiltration” of U.S. economic prospects, like the Kavanaugh hearings Rat’s charade exposes Deep State lampreys’ every move, and 63 million American voters know it.

In all their blue-blind, paralytic stupor, Pelosi-Schumer’s grunting porkers ignore post-2016 Rule One at their peril: Trump goes head-to-head, and Veritas will win.
