Investigative Report: Brennan Used FBI Agent Peter Strzok as Author For Intelligence Community Assessment and Placed Dossier Material into Obama’s Daily Briefing…

Some major reporting today from Paul Sperry includes very interesting details about how President Obama’s intelligence community structured their Intelligence Community Assessment (ICA) about Russian interference in the 2016 election – SEE HERE

In essence by following-up with various people involved in the construct of the ICA, journalist Paul Sperry outlines how CIA Director John Brennan and Director of National Intelligence, James Clapper, subverted their own intelligence guidelines in assembling the intelligence report.

While much of the background parallels our prior research, there are two very interesting aspects outlined by those with direct knowledge of the construct. First, that Brennan positioned FBI Agent Peter Strzok as the contact between the CIA analysis and the information flow to FBI Director James Comey:

[…]  A source close to the House investigation said Brennan himself selected the CIA and FBI analysts who worked on the ICA, and that they included former FBI counterespionage chief Peter Strzok.

“Strzok was the intermediary between Brennan and [former FBI Director James] Comey, and he was one of the authors of the ICA,” according to the source. (link)

This structure is interesting because it highlights an increasingly obvious intention of the participating group to control the content of intelligence, and the information flow therein.  There are several instances which highlight the level of a strategic effort  undertaken to keep James Comey out of the loop on details within the 2016 operation(s).

Their approach creates the “I don’t know” and “that was not my understanding” defense as deployed heavily by James Comey during his book tour and media interviews.

This approach also creates an unusual set of contradictions.

Former FBI Director James Comey repeatedly says the work on the Clinton and Trump investigations was kept inside a very “tight group” of DOJ and FBI people; yet Comey repeatedly claims to have no knowledge of their activity when questioned about specific events.

Deputy Director Andrew McCabe keeping Director Comey in the dark on the Huma Abedin laptop issues for four weeks (Sept. 28th through October 26th) is a clear example of Comey’s ‘willful blindness’.

There are also numerous examples in the Page/Strzok text messaging or working around Comey within the FBI small group (Andrew McCabe, James Baker, Lisa Page, Peter Strzok and Michael Kortan), as Andrew McCarthy finally realized when he sat down to read the content last weekend: “I am bleary-eyed from a weekend of reading about half of them. Even in their heavily redacted form, they are a goldmine of insight.”  I digress.

A second interesting aspect revealed in Paul Sperry’s reporting is something we discussed at great length surrounding the President Obama daily briefing material (PDB):

[…] “Brennan put some of the dossier material into the PDB [presidential daily briefing] for Obama and described it as coming from a ‘credible source,’ which is how they viewed Steele,” said the source familiar with the House investigation. “But they never corroborated his sources.”  (read more)

So with another confirmation that Brennan was putting FBI Counterintelligence Investigation findings into President Obama’s PDB, let’s revisit the statements in April 2017 from President Obama’s National Security Advisor, Susan Rice.  As relayed in an interview with MSNBC’s Andrew Mitchell:

Susan Rice @00:51 – …”Let me explain how this works.  I was a National Security Adviser, my job is to protect the American people and the security of our country.  That’s the same as the Secretary of State, Secretary of Defense and CIA Director.; and every morning, to enable us to do that, we receive – from the intelligence community – a compilation of intelligence reports that the IC, the intelligence community, has selected for us –on a daily basis– to give us the best information as to what’s going on around the world.”

[Note, Susan Rice is describing the PDB]

“I received those reports, as did other officials, and there were occasions when I would receive a report in which, uh, a ‘U.S Person’ was referred to.  Name, uh, not provided, just ‘U.S. Person’.

And sometimes in that context, in order to understand the importance in the report – and assess it’s significance, it was necessary to find out or request, who that U.S. official was.”

The interview goes much further. There was a lot of news in that interview. There is also a tremendous amount of double-speak and self-contradiction; in some cases between sentences that follow each other.

Notice how Susan Rice contradicts herself about what the intelligence community puts into the PDB. Remember, Rice considers the PDB intel community to be very specific: James Clapper (DNI), John Brennan (CIA) and Defense Department (which would be the Pentagon and NSA Mike Rogers). And she states they would never send the President innocuous things unworthy of review.

However, right there Susan Rice is confirming the “unmasking” request(s) which can be pinned upon her, are directly related to her need to understand -on behalf of President Obama- intelligence for the President’s Daily Briefing (the PDB).  This was a previous question now answered.

This is EXPLOSIVE, and here’s why.

Remember, the President’s Daily Brief under President Obama went to almost everyone at top levels in his administration.  Regarding the Obama PDB:

[…]  But while through most of its history the document has been marked “For the President’s Eyes Only,” the PDB has never gone to the president alone. The most restricted dissemination was in the early 1970s, when the book went only to President Richard Nixon and Henry Kissinger, who was dual-hatted as national security adviser and secretary of state.

In other administrations, the circle of readers has also included the vice president, the secretary of defense and the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, along with additional White House staffers.

By 2013, Obama’s PDB was making its way to more than 30 recipients, including the president’s top strategic communications aide and speechwriter, and deputy secretaries of national security departments. (link)

Pay attention to that last part.  According to the Washington Post outline Obama’s PDB’s were going to: “Deputy Secretaries of national security departments”, and his speechwriter, Ben Rhodes.

Susan Rice defined the Obama national security departments to include: “State” – “Defense” (Pentagon includes NSA) and “CIA”….

So under Obama’s watch Deputy Asst. Secretaries of Defense, via their connection to their immediate supervisor, had likely daily access to the content within the PDB.  And who was an Obama Deputy Secretary of Defense?

“I was urging my former colleagues, and, and frankly speaking the people on the Hill [Democrat politicians], it was more actually aimed at telling the Hill people, get as much information as you can – get as much intelligence as you can – before President Obama leaves the administration.”

Because I had a fear that somehow that information would disappear with the senior [Obama] people who left; so it would be hidden away in the bureaucracy, um, that the Trump folks – if they found out HOW we knew what we knew about their, the Trump staff, dealing with Russians – that they would try to compromise those sources and methods; meaning we no longer have access to that intelligence.

So I became very worried because not enough was coming out into the open and I knew that there was more.  We have very good intelligence on Russia; so then I had talked to some of my former colleagues and I knew that they were also trying to help get information to the Hill.  … That’s why you had the leaking”.

Funny how that happens…

Hindsight is 20/20, but many people were tracking close to the bulls-eye back when this entire sordid affair initially became visible.

Up front, I will admit to not having read any of the comments because I just have not yet had the time. Thus far, I have only read Sundance’s most excellent commentary.

So far today, what I have had time for was to watch/listen to George Webb’s YouTube posts of today. They were not very complimentary of General Flynn.

This will break my heart, but if what GW is presenting is true — it is most definitely not good for General Flynn.

I would greatly appreciate any other insight into what George Webb is surmising as it relates to General Flynn.

(Damn, I hope none of this is true.)

It’s odd that Papadopolous was trying so hard to connect Trump campaign with Russians. Even after Sessions shut his initial effort down.

Just a coincidence that Papadopolous met Mifsud at work? Worth taking a look at the shady law firm where Papadopolous started working after Carsen campaign.

How did Sam Clovis know Papadopolous?

Is it odd Clovis recommended Trump campaign take on both Papa and Carter Page? and also recommended Papadopolous go to Moscow.

Here’s a recent dive on Mifsud.

    http://thefederalist.com/2018/05/15/maltese-professor-may-hold-key-fbi-really-began-surveiling-trump/#disqus_thread

“While the FBI has not confirmed Mifsud’s statement, he is listed as a featured speaker at the February 2017 national meeting of Global Ties—an event sponsored by the U.S. Department of State. Mifsud then returned home to Europe, only to disappear in Rome nine months later.”

        Agree with this.
I noted the recent Daily Caller piece with the emphasis of Halper contacting Papadop by email about writing an article and Papadop delivering up same by email, and also Mifsud ongoing emails with Papadop.
There could be a related issue with all these folks operating in the UK as they would not be deemed UK nationals. Essentially they are all foreign nationals in the UK which makes GCHQ intervention much easier.

IIRC, Huber was merely tasked with reviewing the DOJ activities and recommending for prosecution, not prosecuting activities himself:

        FTA:

“We understand that the [Justice] Department is not above criticism and it can never be that the department conceals errors when they occur,” Sessions said in the letter to Senate Judiciary Chairman Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa; House Judiciary Chairman Bob Goodlatte, R-Va.; and House Oversight and Government Reform Chairman Trey Gowdy, R-S.C.

“I am confident that Mr. Huber’s review will include a full, complete, and objective evaluation of these matters in a manner that is consistent with the law and facts,” Sessions wrote, adding:

“I receive regular updates from Mr. Huber and upon the conclusion of his review, will receive his recommendations as to whether any matters not currently under investigation should be opened, whether any matters currently under investigation require further resources, or whether any matters merit the appointment of a special counsel.”

If you have written about this sorry I did not see it. I try to keep up as best I can. Some here think this is a positive but I do not see it. They will ride this thing to the 2018 elections with ample opportunity to continue to lie and make up corruption. Possible Trump knows things and will wait for the right time to give Sessions the go ahead. But…….Sessions is such a “follow the rules” type he would not even take instructions from Trump unless it was by the book.

Often, OCRS will know a good deal about a case even before the
RICO pros memo arrives in Washington, D.C., especially if the request is
sent by an Organized Crime Strike Force Unit of the United States Attorney’s
Office. There are other times when OCRS’s first knowledge of a
potential RICO comes from review of the pros memo itself. In either
scenario, a well-prepared pros memo serves an important role.

If we think of the Clinton and Obama cabal as families in the Mafia it is easier to see how this RICO case plays out.

Everyone is gonna get it, trying to get Hillary Clinton elected by using the DOJ/FBI/IRS etc to hide crimes.

The Organized Crime and Gang Section (OCGS) within the Criminal Division was established in late 2010 as a merger of the (former) Organized Crime and Racketeering Section (OCRS), Gang Unit, and the National Gang Targeting, Enforcement & Coordination Center (GangTECC). The new, combined OCGS pursues a multi-faceted approach to combating all forms of organized crime targets.

This site is designed to provide information about OCGS and its activities, such as prosecutions, investigative support, case coordination/targeting, training, and policy and legislation assistance. We welcome your comments, questions, or suggestions

I wonder how well equiped OCGS is to fight corrumption inside of government, specifically this:

      TITLE 18, U.S.C., SECTION 242
Deprivation Of Rights Under Color Of Law

      https://www.justice.gov/crt/deprivation-rights-under-color-law

“Section 242 of Title 18 makes it a crime for a person acting under color of any law to willfully deprive a person of a right or privilege protected by the Constitution or laws of the United States.

For the purpose of Section 242, acts under “color of law” include acts not only done by federal, state, or local officials within the their lawful authority, but also acts done beyond the bounds of that official’s lawful authority, if the acts are done while the official is purporting to or pretending to act in the performance of his/her official duties….”

If I recall the gist of the complaints then, it was essentially the war in Iraq and/or against ISIS being significantly downplayed.

RICO goes thru John Cronan, the acting assistant attorney general for the Criminal Division, replacing Ken Blanco. Cronan is a former US Attorney at SDNY.

The Criminal Division is headed by an Assistant Attorney General, appointed by the President of the United States. President Trump has formally nominated Brian Benczkowski to be Assistant Attorney General of the Criminal Division, but he has not been confirmed by the Senate due to concerns about his ties to Alfa-Bank (Russian), The current Acting Assistant Attorney General is John P. Cronan.

We go full circle here about the US Attorney SDNY office.

There are two DOJ relevant policies here–one governs if Mr. Cohen IS the subject of the investigation and one governs if Mr. Cohen is NOT the subject of the investigation.

Regardless of whether someone is pro-Trump, never-Trump or anti-Trump, honesty dictates acknowledging that Trump has done more, achieved more and is having a historically spectacular run of success.

I’m curious why you would use conspiracy as a pejorative. I thought people here at CTH were knowledgeable enough to know that connotation was created by the CIA to demonize anyone questioning the “official” narrative around JFKs death. They’ve continued to use it that way to mock anyone questioning the governments truthfulness. BTW we elected Trump to be our President and he is on the record for calling BS on by the laughable story that planes brought down the Twin Towers. We have a conspiracy theorist as POTUS. And do you honestly think GHWBush is a good guy? He’s as evil if not more so than Hillary. I think there has been a little bit of misdirection by not just the fbi-DOJ, but also by reporters. Everyone, including CTH, has their ideas on who the informant is within the Trump campaign. And it all seems to point to the same person. I’m going to throw another choice out there. Sam Clovis. He was the Trump campaign co-chair. He’s the one hired both Papadopoulos and Carter. He has worked for defense contractors with ties to our IC. And until late 2015, you could have accurately called him both an anti-Trumper and a never-Trumper. And then abruptly, he switched from the Perry campaign to the Trump campaign. And within a few months had both pawns in place to be set up by the fbi? I don’t believe in coincidences of that nature.

I see it as less misdirection than an interesting hint. The Brits have a role and they are either now cooperating or waiting for shoes to drop. It’s silly but the biggest clue is the Brits called of a state wedding for 6th in line…Their head of state (Queenie Grma) has to approve the match so this IS a state affair. “So under Obama’s watch Deputy Asst. Secretaries of Defense, via their connection to their immediate supervisor, had likely daily access to the content within the PDB. And who was an Obama Deputy Secretary of Defense? Evelyn Farkas”

No. This is wrong (factually incorrect). There is a huge, HUGE difference between a Deputy Secretary (who is like the VP of the Cabinet Department—one person, who is No. 2 in the whole scheme) and a Deputy Assistant Secretary (of which there are dozens, several levels lower). The latter is a middle management type role. I can’t emphasize this enough.

Just taking DOD as an example, here is how many levels you have to go down (and the number of people at each):

    Secretary (1)
    Deputy Secretary (1)
    Under Secretary (5)
    Assistant Secretary (12)
    Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary (12)
    Deputy Assistant Secretary (50ish)

Many speak of this developing situation being like a le Carre novel. It actually is significantly more complex. The earlier le Carre novels were based on the traitorous group known as the Cambridge Spies most of whom escaped to Russia owing to a mixture of bungling and treachery. It is purely coincidental that Mr Halper is a Cambridge professor.

British spies have played a part in this conspiracy. Bungling and treachery has probably been as consistent a feature as in days gone by. Certainly the Trump victory was unexpected in Britain when it occurred. The press here, and the BBC, were as biased as their American counterparts. In addition many British politicians have American connections and gain benefit from these. Something acutely embarrassing, including a destabilisation of government, may arise here if the Trump vindication occurs along with discredit of many in both Deep State and American politics.

When people say this is huge, they do not exaggerate. The fight will not be won when it breaks into the open. The enemy has made perfectly plain how hard they will resist. Money, personal freedom, and reputation are at risk. With so much at stake great resolve is needed.

The important thing to remember is that the enemy is greatly exposed. They had great power and much of that power is now lost. For some time after the election the enemy continued to act as though he retained that power, and so they made more mistakes. It is essential, though, when the countermove is made, that the stroke is decisive and irresistible. This, I think, is why all grow impatient. The blow must fall heavily and it does not mean the war is won when it falls. Good luck and God Bless, everyone.

Comey was obviously kept insulated even as he participated and “supposedly” oversaw the various investigations. He was kept ignorant of the details and not likely monitoring the results only in summary (written by Strzok under the direction of Brennan). Consequently Comey passes the buck to Priestap in his Congressional testimony and throws him under the bus.

Brennan and Clapper have concocted (pretty thin) alibis by passing the buck to get the spotlight off themselves. (“I gave it to the FBI.” “I gave it to Congress.”)

Nobody knew nothin’ they were just doing their jobs. Plausible deniability.

So does anyone really think any one of this bumbling band of incompeten, goons were actually smart enough to concoct a plot worthy of a John LeCarre novel??

Brennan may have been slyly coordinating and manipulating this whole operation but he had a boss. Does anyone actually believe BO didn’t set the cogs in motion and then, like Comey, only wanted the summary of the results (masked as intelligence reports) rather than the knowledge of the gritty details of the undercover lawlessness. (“I just told them to check it out because of the intelligence concerns reported to me. I didn’t tell anybody to break the law. I told them to do everything by the book. Why, it even says that in an email by Susan Rice to herself.”) Plausible deniability.

Here is an interesting, and likely accurate, read that places this situation in a bigger picture:
