There has been a great deal of speculation about FBI Agent Peter Strzok and FBI Attorney Lisa Page leaking to media in their efforts to shape stories conducive to their pro-Clinton/anti-Trump efforts. Prior reporting showed the strong possibility Page and Strzok were leaking to the Wall Street Journal.
“Article is out, but hidden behind paywall so can’t read it,” Page texted Strzok on Oct. 24, 2016.
“Wsj? Boy that was fast,” Strzok texted back, using the initials of the famed financial newspaper. “Should I ‘find’ it and tell the team?” (link)
Some new information today, and some additional research, and we can not only confirm the prior suspicions outlined by John Solomon (The Hill) – but we also discover the actual Wall Street Journal reporter they were leaking to.
Yesterday Senator Chuck Grassley released a series of text messages between Page and Strzok (full pdf here). Within the release there is a portion of messaging where Lisa Page is identified on the phone with “Devlin” (see page #5 – screen grab below):
[Peter Strzok is ‘INBOX’ and Lisa Page is “OUTBOX’]
It now appears the “Devlin” in question is former Wall Street Journal National Security reporter Devlin Barrett, currently with The Washington Post.
Here’s why? On October 28th, 2016 (as above), at the exact time the re-opening of the Clinton investigation hit the media news-cycle, Page and Strzok were texting. From the released messaging we see at 5:19pm Lisa Page is on the phone with “Devlin”:
♦Page: 5:19pm “Still on the phone with Devlin. Mike’s phone is ON FIRE.”
♥Strzok: 5:29pm “You might wanna tell Devlin he should turn on CNN, there’s news on.”
♦Page: 5:30pm “He knows. He just got handed a note.”
♥Strzok: 5:33pm “Ha. He asking about it now?”
♦Page: 5:34pm “Yeah. It was pretty funny. Coming now.”
At 5:36pm Devlin Barrett tweets:
Apparently the “per sources” reference is FBI Attorney Lisa Page and FBI Agent Peter Strzok leaking to Wall Street Journal reporter Devlin Barrett.
Looking back upon the released text messages, and comparing them to reporting by Devlin Barrett, another specific article jumps out.
On October 23rd, 2016, Devlin Barrett reported on a scoop:
“Scoop: McAuliffe PAC gave $467,500 to campaign of wife of senior FBI official who oversaw Clinton email probe” (link)
(Tweet Link) and (Story Link)
This October 23rd, 2016, “scoop” aligns with the internal text messaging discussion between Agent Peter Strzok and FBI Attorney Lisa Page who were discussing James Comey’s chief-of-staff James Rybicki recommending that FBI Asst. Director Andrew “Andy” McCabe should be recused from the Hillary Clinton investigation.
From the messaging the recusal was discussed mid-through-late October 2016:
00:52am …”if it’s a matter similar to those we’ve been talking about lately”…
It looks like the sourcing for the exclusive report by Devlin Barrett, on the controversy of Andrew McCabe and his financial connections to Clinton/McAuliffe, was again Lisa Page and Peter Strzok; key people within the Hillary Clinton email investigation.
A third likely connection related to the relationship between Strzok, Page and Devlin Barrett comes after Barrett leaves the Wall Street Journal and begins working for The Washington Post.
Barrett’s use of Page and Strzok on this story is actually quite odd because the story is about Page and Strzok.
On December 15th, 2017, after the revelations behind the Mueller investigation having to remove Agent Strzok and Attorney Page as a result of the Inspector General outlining their extreme political bias, the couples text messages were immediately part of the story.
One of the Barrett Washington Post stories was about those messages between the couple communicating via phones “that can’t be traced”.
National security journalist Devlin Barrett wrote a story specifically using “sources” to explain the context of the Page/Strzok message about phones was to hide the affair:
(Twitter Link and WaPo Story Link)
By Devlin Barrett – Two senior FBI officials who texted each other about President Trump and Hillary Clinton relied on work phones to try to hide their romance from a spouse and made the bureau’s probe of Clinton’s private email server their cover story for being in such close contact, according to people familiar with the matter.
The two officials, senior FBI lawyer Lisa Page and senior counterintelligence agent Peter Strzok, are the subjects of an internal investigation that has roiled the FBI and emboldened its Republican critics who have accused the bureau of political bias. Had Page and Strzok used personal phones instead, people close to case say, it’s unlikely their text messages would have come to the FBI’s attention.
The texts, a trove of which were released by the Justice Department this week, have raised questions about the FBI’s investigation into Clinton’s use of a private email server while she was secretary of state and special counsel Robert S. Mueller III’s probe of whether any Trump associates coordinated with Russian officials to interfere with the presidential election. Page and Strzok, who have declined to comment, were involved in both. (read more)
In this example there’s a really odd dynamic about using the subject of the article as a source of information on the subject of the article. “According to people familiar with the matter”, is likely to be Peter Strzok and Lisa Page themselves.
That’s perhaps the weirdest example of journalistic ethical juxtaposition in the past few months. Again, “sources say” now appears to be reporter Devlin Barrett writing an article based on direct information from Lisa Page and Peter Strzok who were the subjects of the story. Obviously they would have a vested legal interest in shaping/spinning that story in a very specific direction.
Knowing that DOJ/FBI Attorney Lisa Page and FBI Agent Peter Strzok were key sources for Barrett’s stories at the Wall Street Journal and Washington Post, you can go through all of his old articles at both publications and clearly identify stories were Strzok and Page were leaking to him.
Lastly, knowing Strzok and Page were key DOJ/FBI investigators on: #1) the Hillary Clinton investigation; #2) the Trump/Russia Counterintelligence Investigation; and, #3) the Robert Mueller investigation; and knowing they were leaking to the media to shape the outcomes of their own investigative narrative in each example; it makes you wonder who else within the DOJ and FBI team was also leaking to the media.
Then again, FBI Director James Comey was doing the same thing.
It seems to be a strange way to run a department that depends on integrity.
.
He was an agent. She was an attorney. Different jobs, chains of command, responsibilities, etc. Yet she seemed to know every single detail of his activities, every one of his thoughts, understood all the psychological dynamics between all of his associates, and was co-plotting every move he made. Her entire day to day behavior was grounded in what was going on in his world.
And notice, all their messages are about his job, meetings, associates, etc. and how they relate to the conspiracy. Her work issues, problems, contacts etc. are never discussed. You never even get the feeling that she has a life. It’s just all conspiracy, all the time.
Some of his earlier texts about her brilliant mind and unlimited career potential make him look like the most gullible and naive agent ever, and desperate for her flattery.
Yep, I’m sure he’s doing a great job at HR.

But do you see any inkling of a real sexual affair? Beginning to wonder whether the “affair” was a coverup, inventive narrative, to explain their collusion and also to “explain” the use of secret phones that (they thought) can’t be traced. Do lovers address each other as “dude,” for example? It is odd, however, that it seems they were in touch with each other constantly, round the clock. WHEN did they have time for actual work?
LikeLiked by 3 people
Sorry. Didn’t read all the comments on this thread yet. I see it’s being considered already. Further evidence may be that supposedly Mueller was more concerned with the bias in their texts than with the affair, when obviously two such sensitively assigned people are subject to blackmail if they’re having an affair. If it’s just a cover story, that might explain why he moved them for the appearance of bias and why (it’s said; don’t know if it’s true) that they still have clearances. They ought to be investigated on account of the affair, IF it’s true it happened. It’s not according to policy and it’s very dangerous for national security if true. Why aren’t they making DOJ explain the apparently light punishment?

I’m going to repost something I wrote earlier, in order to expand upon it. Because…SEX sells.
— “With the likelihood that Strzok & Page were never having an affair at all (but simply pushed that narrative with the help of their “leakees” in the media, in order to cover the real story), it makes POTUS Trump’s tweet all the more relevant.
Trump called them out as lovers. But he had to have known the truth. This guy is brilliant! He puts their own juicy little story out there, baiting everyone. Then, he sits back and waits for the far more sinister truth to out.
Don’t assume for one second that this FBI pair are stupid. They are simply so filled with hatred and hubris, that they got in over their heads. Nothing good comes of consorting with the media. This will be their downfall.” —
It never made sense from the beginning that these two were having an affair. But they and their enemedia cohorts wanted it out there, because sex sells. They were hoping the masses would be sidetracked with yet another “it was just sex” story.
So POTUS Trump obliged. He tweeted. Bigly. He also is well aware that sex sells. He called them lovers – but there wasn’t a smidgen of romance anywhere in their original texts. Nada. No evidence anywhere else either, for that matter.
Now that the remainder of the mysterious texts have been “recovered,” it is impossible to ignore the tawdry and salacious nature of the Strzok/Page relationship. One must read these, wondering where the dirty stuff is (heh). Some are digging for proof, others are just curious. The point is, PEOPLE ARE LOOKING.
POTUS had to have known this was a farce, and used their disinformation against them. Furthermore, it explains why Wikipedia failed to so much as mention an affair on Strzok’s page even though it had been widely reported. In fact, they went to great lengths to defend the “professionalism” of colleagues Strzok & Page. Methinks Wiki doth protest too much. They knew, too.
The only sex going on here is between the media and the alphabet agencies.
Trump is sitting back, laughing, “Haha, made you look.” 🙂

The press and the government have been co-mingling. We know or have known about it. It is a problem for National Security and someone needs to clean it up with laws. McCabe should never have happened. People should be excluded from government service if family members are big shots in the media like Ben Rhodes. It should be considered an opportunity to leak. Because that is what it is…..please, no more warm, fuzzy bedtime stories of “integrity” in our government. Integrity is just another ‘subjective’ term in Washington DC. This is what President Trump is dealing with because these people still have relationships with the Obama holdovers.

It is interesting, in light of this proof of their active leaking, to align these texts with what was reported about Strzok’s team’s review of the Anthony Weiner laptop. From the NYTimes April 22, 2017 mega-piece, Comey Tried to Shield the FBI from Politics Then He Shaped an Election, this excerpt describes the importance the investigators reportedly placed on the early Blackberry communications, where the discussion of the purpose for setting up the home server might reveal intent.
“One nagging issue was that Mrs. Clinton had deleted an unknown number of emails from her early months at the State Department — before she installed the home server. Agents believed that those emails, sent from a BlackBerry account, might be their best hope of assessing Mrs. Clinton’s intentions when she moved to the server. If only they could find them.”
And then this excerpt (seeming to come from Strzok or someone looking over his shoulder) describes the evening of the review :
“On Nov. 5, three days before Election Day, Mr. Strzok and his team had 3,000 emails left to review. That night, they ordered pizza and dug in. At about 2 a.m., Mr. Strzok wrote an email to Mr. Comey and scheduled it to send at 6 a.m. They were finished.
“A few hours later, Mr. Strzok and his team were back in Mr. Comey’s conference room for a final briefing: Only about 3,000 emails had been potentially work-related. A dozen or so email chains contained classified information, but the F.B.I. had already seen it.
“And agents had found no emails from the BlackBerry server during the crucial period when Mrs. Clinton was at the State Department.
“Nothing had changed what Mr. Comey had said in July.”
Now compare the artificial constraints self-imposed on the investigation: only look at improper storage of confidential information and potential hostile intrusion, only look at emails during Clinton’s tenure as Secretary of State. 3,000 work-related emails were filtered down to a dozen chains including classified materials.
These constraints would have allowed a friendly investigator to avoid looking for or acting upon evidence of intent from before her tenure, avoid looking for or acting upon evidence of pay to play (or other high crimes and misdemeanors) that did not include storage of confidential information, and avoid looking for or acting upon evidence of intent to destroy evidence after leaving State. The stilted way in which the NYT reported what their source told them leaves open the possibility that there were other bombshells on the Weiner laptop that have not yet surfaced to the public or oversight committees (though the IG’s investigations should be looking into these matters).
LikeLiked by 3 people
Just the mere fact that classified information was found on Weiner’s laptop indicated a felony had been committed. Add to that the fact of his perverse on-line activities makes it likely this information could have been hacked by malevolent outsiders. The entire episode stinks to high heaven.

In summary, they were told what their conclusion would be, given a pizza, and then they signed off on the conclusion.
The self imposed constraints gave them plausible deniability should the truth eventually emerge.

http://www.oann.com/white-house-to-sign-order-keeping-gitmo-open/
OAN Newsroom
UPDATED 9:33 AM PT – Fri. January 26, 2018
The White House is preparing to reverse an Obama-era directive to close the military prison in Guantanamo Bay.
On Thursday, a draft of a State Department memo surfaced showing President Trump will keep the prison open for suspected terrorists.
This decision is expected to be announced during the State of the Union next Tuesday.
The move would repeal a 2009 order by President Obama, who was never able to make good on the decision due to push-back from Congress.
The repeal fulfills a long-time promise by the administration, which has taken a tougher approach to its handling of suspected terrorists captured abroad.
“I’m not aware of any change in the administration’s stated use of Guantanamo…the administration is committed to enforcing our terrorism laws and any law that we can against anyone that will present harm or a threat to the United States,” stated Principal Deputy Assistant Attorney General Ed O’Callaghan.
Over 200 inmates were moved to the custody of foreign countries during the Obama presidency.
As of now, 41 detainees remain imprisoned in Guantanamo Bay.

Page – Yeah. I saw it. Makes me feel WAY less bad about throwing him under the bus in the forthcoming CF article
Strzok – Yep the whole tone is anti Bu. Just a tiny bit from is. And serves him right. He’s gonna be pissed…”
From article at msn, linked below, which repeats WaPo article linked above by Strzok which waPo article is now scrubbed:
https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/politics/justice-officials-warned-fbi-that-comey’s-decision-to-update-congress-was-not-consistent-with-department-policy/ar-AAjA2rk
Quote>
“Matthew Miller, a former Justice Department spokesman in the Obama administration, said the FBI rarely releases information about ongoing criminal investigations and does not release information about federal investigations this close to political elections.
“Comey’s behavior in this case from the beginning has been designed to protect his reputation for independence no matter the consequences to the public, to people under investigation or to the FBI’s own integrity,” Miller said.
Miller and other former officials pointed to a 2012 Justice Department memo saying that all employees have the responsibility to enforce the law in a “neutral and impartial manner,” which is “particularly important in an election year.”
Miller said he had been involved in cases related to elected officials in which the FBI waited until several days after an election to send subpoenas. “They know that if they even send a subpoena, let alone announce an investigation, that might leak and it might become public and it would unfairly influence the election when voters have no way to interpret the information,” Miller said. <end quote
It is clear that because of this^statement, Page and Strzok were happy about throwing Matt Miller "under the bus" in a new "CF article."
So who or what is CF here? Sounds like either a reporter or news media who is going to "throw Matt under the bus."
BTW, Matt is still alive and tweeting nasty crap against PDJT, so not too likely CF here means Clinton Foundation (no Arkancide) unless the tweet is about an article referring to Clinton foundation. https://mobile.twitter.com/matthewamiller
Again who/what is "CF" in that tweet? Might lead to another reporter who is conspiring.

Edward William “Bill” Priestap lives or has lived in a 5 BR $2.8 million Victorian townhouse in Georgetown. Bought January 2013. Owned by ELKA Trust (a REIT?). No indication of a spouse in the records. Peter has his Skeeza, Bruce has his Nellie, and Glenn has his Mary. I went looking for Bill’s femme fatale.
Priestap apparently originally from Michigan, spent part of his FBI career in the Chicago and New York field offices. Promoted by Comey to current position in Dec/Jan 2016, right in time to set the wheels in motion. Now Comey is throwing him under the bus in Congressional testimony.
Update: American Thinker has done the work. Priestap’s wife is Sabina Menschel, “the current head of the D.C. office of Nardello & Co. … the top private-eye firm in the Beltway.”

Maggie Haberman attended off the record secret meetings with John Podesta during 2016 election
Maggie Haberman, the left wing New York Times crank who put out a story yesterday that Trump wanted to fire corrupt Robert Mueller back in June of last year isn’t exactly a non-biased reporter using “anonymous sources.” Regardless if you believe the crap spewed by Haberman and New York Times yesterday, you also have to take into consideration that Haberman attended an off the record secret meetings with John Podesta during 2016 election. John Podesta was Hillary Clinton’s campaign manager.
Sounds a bit like collusion to me.. Almost like what that snake Rod Rosenstein hired Robert Mueller to investigate. This story that came out last night got the juices flowing at the left wing propaganda cable networks, automatically assuming it was true because Maggie Haberman and the New York Times claimed it happened. Yet, neither Maggie Haberman or the New York Times have ever mentioned her off the record secret meeting with creepy John Podesta during the 2016 campaign. I wonder how many more meetings the two have had since the election.

What heinous acts did Pres. Trump commit to deserve all of this attention from the Obama gov’t agencies and dishonorable people that participated in this mass political exercise to discredit, investigate and prosecute an elected President? He ran a political campaign they disagreed with and then did the most heinous act of all to them. He won the election and humiliated their anointed one.
Whatever legal punishment and criminal record awaits these participants, it will be well earned. Using gov’t resources and it’s almost unlimited power to unleash your anger and vengeance on a political opponent is standard procedure in a dictatorship but it is a heinous act in a democracy. I wonder if Mueller is still proud of his ongoing appointed role in this heinous act against an elected POTUS. Any honorable person would be ashamed to have been used as a pawn in this conniving plot.
Speaking about leaks–How did Trump’s confidential comments with attorney-client privilege (possibly fire Mueller) get leaked to the NYT as reported yesterday? This is another sleazy, dishonorable leak. Trump’s concerns about the partisan Mueller team were rational and reasonable.

Having sex vs having a love affair.
Maybe they were just friends with benefits, neither expecting nor offering any lovey-dovey talk.
Lack of evidence is not evidence either way, especially considering we are not privy to every unredacted text.
Whether they were or were not hanky pankying is entirely beside the point.
Their constant texting betrays a strong liklihood of conspiracy and definite evidence of using their positions to attempt to influence the outcome of a US Election and also leaking to certain reporters.
The texts are not just evidence, they are leads to more evidence.
Their fellow conspirators and protectors can try to use the affair angle all they want, it does not cover their butts on each and every text that is damaging and/or might lead to more discoveries.

That claim is complete Horse Hockey in my opinion. Having an affair with the positions they had. Every corporate entity has very strict rules about dating depending on level and intermingling of departments, much less an affair, that unknown sources claim was ignored.
These people are involved with sensitive information in their jobs. It happens, yes, though its kept very secret, and others will not know about it, especially if they are committing adultery.
I would believe that high level positions in Govt. handling classified material, would not be flaunting and affair so people would know about it and disregard it. I doubt it would be allowed by HR and regulations.
Maybe they do, just seems unlikely it would be so public.

It was the 5th of November and all through the House,
Lots of creatures were stirring, not just a mouse.
The stock market was hung by Hussein out to dry,
With hopes that HRC would be next to fly🦇
The peeps were all nestled in front of their tubes,
While visions of FakeNews were spun by the “Boobs”.
And mamma in her extensions and me in my jams,
Had just primed our brains for another dumb recap,
When out in the ‘hood there arose such a clatter,
I sprang from my futon to see if it was more DACA chatter.
Away to the window I flew like The Flash,
Tore open Pottery Barn curtains and threw up the sash.
The light from the corner street light below,
Gave an LED luster of midday fake snow.
When what to my sleep addled eyes should appear,
But a caravan of black limousines, shining bright like a mirror.
The POTUS directing the group as they came,

More rapid than 5G our Patriots answered his whistle,

Now Arrest away! Arrest away! Arrest away ALL!
As trash that before Hurricane Irma spread,

And his countenance grew younger as he went on attack.
His eyes—how they twinkled! His smile so big and wide!
He gave me the hope I had been looking for and I stood straighter with pride.
He was a genius, so stable, so versed in The Art,

With wink of his eye and some strokes of his pen,
Smashed crooked policies and EO’s of dumb men.
He tweeted and chatted so all could observe,
The mind and work ethic of a genius at work.
And stepping away from business once again to Tweet,
He looked at the Market—it’s still looking sweet!
He sprang to his limo, to his team gave a listen,
And away they all sped, superheroes onto the next mission.
But I heard him Tweet Tweet, as he drove out of sight—

The White House visitor log research by Katica shows that Mueller is providing someone in the White House with legal advice at the exact time period in April, 2016 that events are leading up to Admiral Rogers order to suspend “about” quiries in the FISA upstream database.
I really hope that I am wrong.

It also matches the time frame of Ohr and the secret society meetings…

Addendum to my last comment, which seems to be in the trash bin again. Were Strzok caught and demoted due to leaking, odds are Strzok might have suspected, and as such may have been a wee bit more careful to whom, how, when, and where Strzok leaked. Page may not be as smart, as Page was out of the loop by then. And Strzok’s wife had to have been doing a number on Strzok by this time.
And is every FBI agent w/a teensy bit of knowledge not just dying to be the next DeepThroat, the one who takes down the “whatever” it is they called Pres Trump?
Which puts the odds of this being more Page than Strzok, imo. And Comey, who never knows when to shutup.
Sending to this keep my other comments company in the trash bin. 😉

I haven’t seen any texts between Strzok and Page that explicitly indicate an affair. Has anyone else?

Based on Strzok and Page’s own admissions in their texts, they need to be prosecuted for every count of their leaking to the Press, which are FELONIES!
Like the US Olympic Gymnastics Team Doctor that sexually assaulted the many young girls in his care, at his sentencing, the Judge gave him 150 years of jail time that were to begin being served after he completes his 60 year sentence for the kiddee-porn convictions he is already serving.
Peter Strzok and his mistress Linda Page, and “Andy” McCabe, and who ever else (Comey?) committed a crime in this “Game of Thrones” saga, need to be imprisoned for multiple lifetimes for what they have done to our Republic and “We the People.”

Having an office affair,
Using burner phones to hide the affair,
Telling your wife, you need to spend time with another women to help Hillary,
Having to leak to the national press as a ‘person close to the investigation’ that your burner phones are not part of an unlawful wiretap conspiracy, but only to hide your office affair – – – – – – Priceless.

If there is proof that these two ‘leaked’ classified stuf to media then they should be prosecuted.
sundance, I really appreciate how deep in the weeds you are and placing your info on the Tree House. Thank you so much!
Watch out for libtard whack jobs gunning for you. Seriously! Remember last summer and what happened to Steve Scalice…

“It seems to be a strange way to run a department that depends on integrity.”
Anybody that assumes that the FBI and/or Deep State has ever been based upon integrity must be either unbelievably naive or lobotomized.
