In Less Than 2 Minutes On MSNBC Susan Rice Exposed The Entire Obama “Russian” Motive…

Former National Security Adviser Susan Rice only needed to confirm one aspect of the intelligence unmasking story for all of the dots to connect.  She made that confirmation within two minutes of her interview with MSNBC’s Andrea Mitchell.

From the MSNBC transcript, emphasis mine:

Susan Rice @00:51 – …”Let me explain how this works.  I was a National Security Adviser, my job is to protect the American people and the security of our country.  That’s the same as the Secretary of State, Secretary of Defense and CIA Director.; and every morning, to enable us to do that, we receive – from the intelligence community – a compilation of intelligence reports that the IC, the intelligence community, has selected for uson a daily basis– to give us the best information as to what’s going on around the world.”

Note, right there.  STOP. No need to go any further.  There it is – Susan Rice is describing the Presidents’ Daily Briefing, aka the “PDB”.  She continues:

“I received those reports, as did other officials, and there were occasions when I would receive a report in which, uh, a ‘U.S Person’ was referred to.  Name, uh, not provided, just ‘U.S. Person’.

And sometimes in that context, in order to understand the importance in the report – and assess it’s significance, it was necessary to find out or request, who that U.S. official was.”

This is the important detail.  Susan Rice was requesting unmasking of U.S. person’s names, which she moments later describes as “U.S. official[s]”, to understand the context and importance for the intelligence being given within the Presidents’ Daily Brief.

Under President Obama’s communication and intelligence directives, the Presidential Daily Briefing was widely shared with dozens of administration persons in various agencies.

From a Washington Post story explaining the PDB and Obama’s use therein. (again, emphasis mine):

(Washington Post) […] It’s the president’s book. And indeed, it is tailored to each president’s individual needs. CIA officers in 1961 designed what was initially known as the President’s Intelligence Checklist specifically for John F. Kennedy’s tastes, using punchy words and phrases while avoiding clunky bureaucratic language and annoying classification markings. That checklist evolved into the President’s Daily Brief in late 1964 , as the agency reformatted and retitled the book of secrets to appeal to Lyndon Johnson’s preferences. While the name has stuck, the content and format have continued to evolve. President Obama receives his in digital form and reads it on a tablet .

But while through most of its history the document has been marked “For the President’s Eyes Only,” the PDB has never gone to the president alone. The most restricted dissemination was in the early 1970s, when the book went only to President Richard Nixon and Henry Kissinger, who was dual-hatted as national security adviser and secretary of state.

In other administrations, the circle of readers has also included the vice president, the secretary of defense and the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, along with additional White House staffers. By 2013, Obama’s PDB was making its way to more than 30 recipients, including the president’s top strategic communications aide and speechwriter, and deputy secretaries of national security departments. (link)

The post article was written December 26th 2016, after the election – and was presumably written due to post-election media reports the intelligence community had concerns over sharing information with President-elect Trump; this was the preferred, and false, anti-Trump narrative for a few weeks.  I digress.

The important aspect two fold: #1) the PDB is electronic viewable by POTUS Obama on his iPad; and #2) how many people were getting the PDB information 30+, against the backdrop of Rice’s admitted unmasking of names within the raw intelligence for PDB user comprehension.

There you can see that “more than 30 recipients” would be privy to the unmasked information within the PDB as an outcome of the protocols instituted by the White House and President Obama’s National Security Advising team.

From Rice’s MSNBC interview the departments of “State (John Kerry et al) and Defense (Ash Carter et al)”, along with CIA (Director John Brennan), NSA (Director Mike Rogers) and ODNI James Clapper, all participated.

As such, and as outlined by the Washington Post on distribution, deputies within Defense and State, along with “other national security departments” would have access to the unmasked PDB information.

Here’s where you realize within those “more than 30 recipients” you find people like Secretary Hillary Clinton, Undersecretary Patrick Kennedy and various high level officials in the Office of the Secretary and its Executive Secretariat (S/ES) past and present.   This is also where the Deputy Secretaries of Defense like Dr. Evelyn Farkas come into play.  All of these officials would be accessing, or at least have access to, the President’s Daily Brief, and the unmasked intelligence within it.

When you recognize how widely the Obama administration disseminated the PDB you begin to realize how easy it was for any foreign entity, including the Russians, to have access to the EXACT SAME daily intelligence brief as President Obama and his National Security Adviser Susan Rice.

An additional character within this wide-dissemination construct would be John Podesta.  Remember, after Hillary Clinton stepped down from Secretary of State, she inserted, with Obama’s approval, John Podesta within the White House Senior Advisory staff to keep a communications line open with direct information.  (As pictured below)  Podesta remained in that position throughout 2013, 2014 and into 2015.

President Barack Obama, with Secretary of State John Kerry, participates in a secure video teleconference with Embassy Baghdad and Consulates General Erbil and Basrah, at the U.S. Department of State in Washington, D.C., Oct. 24, 2014.

Having a known entity like John Podesta with access to the PDB and the unmasked intelligence therein, puts the appropriate highlight on the risk carried by Russian hacking into Podesta’s electronic communications, stored data and email correspondence.

Is it any surprise Russian, or any foreign intelligence group, would then be making attempts to enter the unsecured private email accounts of Secretary Hillary Clinton and her top level staff?

And John Podesta is only one of numerous people who would have access to this PDB information.  All of which would potentially be at risk of being read daily by enterprising hackers, or various spies, who would glean a gobsmacking level of information by actually reading the same unmasked intelligence as the President of the United States.

Oh, the angles are almost limitless.

Not only would President Obama and his entire NSC team be gathering operational political intelligence on their political adversaries to include President-Elect Donald Trump and his transition team, but they would also be gathering intelligence and unmasking it on other U.S. Officials…..

…..That same unmasked and widespread surveillance, under the auspices of intelligence gathering, was then shared with dozens of administration officials -beyond the likes of the National Security Council, Asst. Defense Secretary Farkas and politicos like John Podesta- which means it was more than likely reviewed, via hacking etc., by our most critical national enemies.

Follow that trail to where it leads and you’ll likely discover the real story that encompasses the motive to create the ‘vast Russian conspiracy‘.

It only took Susan Rice two minutes on MSNBC to highlight the entire motive.

Another March 2nd MSNBC interview takes a new context:

“I was urging my former colleagues, and, and frankly speaking the people on the Hill [Democrat politicians], it was more actually aimed at telling the Hill people, get as much information as you can – get as much intelligence as you can – before President Obama leaves the administration.”

Because I had a fear that somehow that information would disappear with the senior [Obama] people who left; so it would be hidden away in the bureaucracy, um, that the Trump folks – if they found out HOW we knew what we knew about their, the Trump staff, dealing with Russians – that they would try to compromise those sources and methods; meaning we no longer have access to that intelligence.

So I became very worried because not enough was coming out into the open and I knew that there was more.  We have very good intelligence on Russia; so then I had talked to some of my former colleagues and I knew that they were also trying to help get information to the Hill.  … That’s why you had the leaking”.

if they found out HOW we knew … that they would try to compromise those sources and methods; meaning we no longer have access to that intelligence “,

Indeed they would Dr. Farkas. Indeed they would.

I am gathering because Rice said conversations, she must mean cell phone conversations. When Trump said he had is “wires tapped”, his quotation marks, he may well have understood it was wireless surveillance and in the modern age we haven’t come up with a term like wiretapped to mean the equivalent of wiretapped on a wireless phone. That surveillance order they have, the Executive Order ends in 333, the address of the ATT building in NY that makes all these things possible.

If it was email, it would be unmasking an email address not a name, so it sounds to me like they have transcripts of audio conversations they were unmasking and all this hairsplitting about wiretapping or not is pure malarkey.

“Obama tapped my frequency” might have been a better way to put it, but they would have slapped a tin foil hat on him, unable to follow.

    • JoAnn Leichliter says:

The idea that someone as tech-savvy as President Trump should be taken literally when he tweets about “wiretapping” is just a red herring. And you can tell it is by the way the MSM relentlessly pursues it.

  2. Jimmy Jack says:

Surveillance Trump et al for such an extended period of time has put the country at tremendous peril. This cannot be overstated.

  3. Steve Carr says:

I’m sure the media will cover up for Rice. Of course Obama spied on Trump, he did it with the IRS, and all the other scandals the news media covers up. The future is alternative search engines. We all need to us another search engine and than we take away the governments power, who have become to powerful, or we just go back to yelling loud try a no tracking search or one of the other alternative searches. Have a awesome day

Really explains why the Dems have been so persistent with the “Muh Russians” narrative. I hope people go to jail for this. I want to see the leakers in orange jumpsuits and doing the perp walk.

I would like to know if anyone has a compilation of all the anti-trump faux crisis that’s been put out since Election Day?? I recall some days there were 2-3 + “sky is falling we are all gonna die” hate Trump stuff being levied. I think a list would be helpful-also showing how it was debunked/what the real reason was, or if it’s still pending. Many many are growing weary of the lefts insanity-and will blame Trump eventually. We need to be able to show them that it’s the Dems that are driving us all to crazy.

One of Sundance’s pics has a long-haired blond sitting to Obama’s right on a couch. We could not figure out who she was and took a second look. Rumler was the White House Counsel but in the same pic we find Lisa Monaco.
Take note on Lisa Monaco: Asst Atty General at DOJ in charge of Counter-Terrorism and Espionage and apparently in charge of FISA warrants.

Sundance – Here’s a wild thought but plausible:
Comey said in hearings that the FBI started investigating the Trump campaign in July. What happened in July?
This tweet from Trump immediately after Clinton left the FBI “interview” 7/2 but BEFORE Comey’s press conference:
“It was just announced-by sources-that no charges will be brought against Crooked Hillary Clinton. Like I said, the system is totally rigged!”

Isn’t it possible that the FBI started the investigation to find their leaker, not because of any suspicions about Trump and Russia? Russia was ALWAYS a cover story for spying.

Susan Rice threw Obama under the bus in the Andrea Mitchell interview. She said numerous times that she was either ordered or under direction from the president (Obama).

“[….] An additional character within this wide-dissemination construct would be John Podesta.[…]”

    A look at John Podesta.
The Podesta Bros. are registered as Russia Banking lobbyists.
    From WIKI:
“[….] The Podesta Group is a lobbying and public affairs firm based in Washington, D.C.. It was founded in 1988 by brothers John Podesta and Tony Podesta and has previously been known as Podesta Associates, and PodestaMattoon. […]”

“[….] Democrat super-lobbyist Tony Podesta was paid $170,000 over a six-month period last year to represent Sberbank, Russia’s largest bank, seeking to end one of the Obama administration’s economic sanctions against that country […]”

“[….] Joule Unlimited Technologies — financed in part by a Russian firm — originally awarded Podesta 100,000 shares of stock options when in 2010 he joined that board along with its Dutch-based entities: Joule Global Holdings…

The same year Podesta joined Joule, the company agreed to accept 1 billion rubles — or $35 million — from Rusnano, a state-run and financed Russian company with close ties to President Vladimir Putin.

Anatoly Chubais, the company CEO, and two other top Russian banking executives worked together with Podesta on the Joule boards. […]”

And they worry about any possible connections of President Trump to Russia when you have a DIRECT LINK?

Presidents’ Daily Briefing ===> John Podesta ===> Tony Podesta ===> Russian banks.

You can’t make this stuff up folks.

So you have Podesta with all these Russian ties sitting with a position as a White House Senior Advisory staff member with access to the PDB’s…
wow.. Not hard to see why our enemies wanted access to Podesta’s computers..

I can only think of what Hillary stated at one point in the campaign.. and I am paraphrasing here..
“If Trump wins we will all hang..”

      • Mailpost says:

Podesta may have sold the information to the Russians. Claiming the Russians or someone else “hacked” the information could be for plausible deniability.

    • tuyen says:

Didn’t the DNC refuse to hand it over to the FBI?

      • OP says:

Yes, they refused, because they knew it had been used in the course of many crimes.

Imagine a rape victim, not giving evidence…unless the rape victim was a whore and possessed too much evidence…

        • Buck says:

How is it possible for a suspect to NOT turn over physical evidence, That’s what I want to know. Couldn’t the FBI issue a warrant and just seize the server?
          And WHY didn’t they ??
This whole thing with the FBI, NSA, CIA, DOD and all the other intelligence agencies stinks to high heaven !!!!

  14. TrumpCaliGirl says:

Also, Natn’l Security Advisor is APPOINTED by Prez, which is NOT the same as Sec of State, Sec of Defense and CIA Director, as Rice alleges in the interview thereby overstating her credentials. NO confirmation of her by Congress, which was intentional by Obama, since Benghazi scandal with Rice would have destroyed her during hearings.

  17. Barnestormer says:

When it comes to the question of whether crimes were committed in connrction with the Trump surveillance, the media analysis which I’ve seen can be generally summarized as 1) warrantless surveilling of foreign nationals is permissible; 2) the unmasking of Americans “incidentally” captured by such surveillance is permissible if done by authorized persons for authorized purposes; 3) communicating that unmasked intelligence to unauthorized persons (leaking) is a felony. Such analysis typically then concludes that while the leaking (e.g., Flynn/Russian Ambassador phone calls) is felonious, none of the various actions purportedly taken by Obama administration officials (Susan Rice most prominently to date) rise to the criminal level. “Unethical,” “abusive,” “violative of the spirit of the law” are the typical descriptions used. However, the legal landscape changes radically depending upon how the question, to what end was all this Trump surveillance directed, is answered. As Andrew McCarthy has noted, Rice and the rest of the White House are not investigative agencies. As Evelyn Farkas blurted in her infamous March 2 interview, her concern was that the “sources and methods” used by the Obama administration to gather intelligence, once discovered by Trump’s people after Obama left the administration, would be compromised. So Farkas was expressing the hope and desirability of a continuing flow of intelligence via those “sources and methods” to some destination for some purpose, but obviously not in aid of a legitimate purpose of her former employer who would have been then out of office. Rather, she had to be describing fresh intelligence, to be disseminated during the term of and directed at a new, democratically elected president. If the classified intelligence of the type apparently aggregated by Rice and championed by Farkas to continue into the term of and for use against the Trump administration is shown to have been intended for leaking to the public, and not exclusively for internal evaluation or forwarding to a legitimate investigative entity, the felony of conspiracy should emerge to its rightful place in the discussion.

Let’s see going into the 10th month the Demshevik’s wet dream of finding the Russian collusion unicorn is being offset by the fact that 1 Oliar report, 2 former administration intel people, say no collusion. Even with every rabid foaming at the mouth member of the Goebbels-Pravda media looking for the unicorn and 2 congressional committees have come up with squat. On the other hand we have at least 2 felonies surrounding General Flynn, NO unmasking of Demsheviks at all, for anything, and Rice doing what she does best, or maybe second best, lie.

“if they found out HOW we knew … that they would try to compromise those sources and methods; meaning we no longer have access to that intelligence “….

Seems pretty clear that they start out with the goal of surveilling their political enemies, in the present case that means Trump and his circle. They obviously can’t do that legally, so they simply snoop around a bit, find out which foreigners any of them might have contact with, and obstnsibly target those people (no probable cause or reasonable suspicion needed) and hope to capture communications and other intel from their TRUE targets. Illegal as hell, of course.

They will try their level best to use as a fallback position that the worst they did was “unmask” individuals needlessly/inappropriately. We can’t let them get away with it. It’s deeper than that.
They targeted US citizens for surveillance for political reasons, and then leaked seemingly suspicious conversations. Truth is–they broke the law, and found NOTHING illegal done by Trump and others, but they proceeded as the left always does–leaks, lies, innuendo, smears. Now they will move toward damage control because the truth is getting out.

    What they did deserves charges.
