Following a series of high-profile conflicts, President Trump has terminated Defense Secretary Mark Esper and appointed Chris C Miller, head of the National Counterterrorism Center, as Acting Defense Secretary:
Secretary Esper gave an interview to the Military Times the day after the election indicating he would not follow any further orders from the administration. These public comments likely led to his removal.
Throughout the President’s first term in office politically-minded military flag officers have sought to undermine the administration effort to withdraw from global conflicts. During an interview with Bob Woodward, former Defense Secretary James Mattis admitted to plotting the overthrow of the U.S. government under Trump.
One of the more obvious exhibitions of the Pentagon outlook was in their support for Lt. Col. Alexander Vindman who attempted to frame a false impeachment effort because President Trump’s foreign policy did not align with the preferred intervention approach of the military industrial complex. {Go Deep}
I placed this elsewhere, but it seems appropriate here:
Punishment for the coup d’ etat could be the motive.
I will not claim to have read everything about the firing of Esper, but it may not have been sufficiently appreciated yet that in a shooting Second Civil War of Leftists versus Patriots, Esper would NOT be on the side of President Trump.
Thats kinda what I’ve been thinking.
He wasn’t on Trump’s side, ever.
Look at Esper’s reaction to Trump walking to the church after those terrorist leftist thugs rioted in DC. Esper has to have been working against Trump throughout.
How about Gen Millie, wasn’t he also on the Esper train? Maybe tomorrow?
You are quite correct…Independent journalist Alex Newman said that Esper was a great danger to PDJT – in the following interview. I’m glad PDJT fired him.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=16s424pCUHA
Awesome. We need real world and online presence. Everybody find people wherever you can. Wow the sheeple don’t know what’s happening. Rescue as many as you can from the Matrix, AKA big tech and big media. I’ve been seeing people who think everything is fine, we have Congress, all that jazz. Please inform the sheeple Dems are trying to steal the Senate AND bribe RINOs so it’s do or die time.
https://twitter.com/tom2badcat/status/1325919122169978880?s=21
I think President Trump can walk with his Bible to Church now.
AMEN. That’s what came to my
mind first and foremost. Followed by the Vindman situation.
I hope the hammer is going to drop.
Lmao that was funny as hell, yes I think antifas would roleplay fainting goats if he walked up to them.
I would rather they attempt to strike him in whatever manner they seem best.
I would much appreciate the outcome.
RIck L and lots of Treepers here. Thank you for the laugh !!! It is GOOD to get some good news at this time and to be surrounded by the cream of the crop of awesome beautiful wolverines !!!
Interesting pic, as he looks like a completely different person now. Personally, I prefer the former guy from Iowa more than the polished one from DC.
Really!
On a .mil blog I lurk and read, there are men who served under Chris Miller. All are highly complimentary and excited about having him in this position.
A real BTDT as SecDef, how cool is that?
Esper refusing to follow orders is cause for immediate dismissal.
That guy was always a McConnell stooge. Good riddance.
I do wish you’d stop using this phrase: “…the military industrial complex.” so beloved of the Socialist-Progressives.
It used to be their term, but we took it. It’s ours now. See how that works? 😉
“Fake News” used to be Hillary’s, now it’s ours.
“Enemy of the people” used to be Pelosi’s, now it’s ours.
“Peaceful Protests” used to be Antifa’s, now we have peaceful protests against stupidity.
Reclaiming our language!
Reclaiming my time!
Reclaiming my language!
Reclaiming my rights!
Hear! Hear! Peoria and Heaven!
Yup. I’m calling the people who condemn PDJT, as bullies. They call us bullies, but I’m SHOVING it right back down their hypocritical throats. They insult and offend me.
THEY are the bullies. They have nothing good to say about their candidate, but they attack PDJT and, therefore, me – because I support him.
Pelosi’s phrase is ‘Enemy of the State’…………………..completely opposite of ‘Enemy of the people’. (The right phrase matters.)
Yikes, got mixed up, thank you.
So “Enemy of the people” is an original with President Trump, referring to the media.
“Enemy of the State” is a reflexively fascist phrase, and belongs to Pelosi.
Eisenhower coined the term. Time to reclaim it.
And, it perfectly describes an institution that has sacrificed our young men to their gods of money & power. Think Bush/Cheney. Think Obama/Clinton. Think NoName/Graham. Think Obama/Kerry. There is an entire infrastructure built on the currency of blood for power that should be called out.
President Trump is ending not only US wars, but future wars between longstanding enemies all over the world.
Crippling the military induatrial complex is another one of the great achievements of this administration!
Actually, Eisenhower coined the term military industrial complex.
And we have declared Conservative appropriation.
Esper was a Lobbyist for Raytheon. Military Industrial Complex.
I’m sure now that goes with Globalist.
https://www.defensenews.com/congress/2019/07/15/pentagon-nominee-esper-a-former-raytheon-lobbyist-must-extend-recusal/
Esper thought the day after the election Biden had won and needed to show some disloyalty to get lucrative work at a DC think tank or Exec Level MIC industry job. Wait in a couple of weeks and see where he’s invited to work.
If he had stayed loyal and Biden won, no job offers. Skunk of a man.
The term “Military-Industrial Complex” was President Eisenhower’s invention, from his farewell speech in 1961. In early drafts of the speech he used “War-based Industrial Complex” instead. I don’t consider him a Socialist-Progressive. It’s still a serviceable description, even though I admit it’s getting old. What term would you prefer?
He was a pragmatist and a War Hero. Ike should not even be mentioned in the same sentence with the corrupt political roaches that we are discussing.
“It’s still a serviceable description, even though I admit it’s getting old.”
YOU admit that? How generous, LOL!
Mikey, I’ve appreciated your discernment over the years, but this is too much – even for me.
Eh. Language changes over time. Terms come into and go out of fashion. My grandsons laugh at my style of verbiage, but then they say stuff like “adorbs”
I’m an Anglophile. In particular, I have a deep appreciation for the vast and beautiful English language. There’s a reason it’s the #1 most spoken language in the world.
Taking words like “progressive” and bastardizing them to mean “regressive” is ignorant and offensive. Reclaiming my language!
Eisenhower was a Socialist-Progressive? He is credited with coining that phrase.
On January 17, 1961, Dwight D. Eisenhower ends his presidential term by warning the nation about the increasing power of the military-industrial complex.
Considering Trump is not going to lay down but fight and possibly win against this hail marry play of vast FRAUD, it makes total sense. A good salesman i.e. business man always assume the sale and plan for the close while you work the sale. Very simply Esper was very vocally against use of the military via the insurrection act to quell riots restore order. I fully expect the pressure to be sent to epic level as the Trump team reveals the FRAUD and gains ground all the way up to victory if such is had. That pressure will be the dems screaming disenfranchisement pushing all they got into the streets to riot and maybe even attempting to storm the white house etc… Order will be needed to complete then close.
Normally I would write off a recount etc… but we have two things one is Trump and the other is this is not the normal fraud, this is across state lines and all cards played to the level of really testing the common sense if you care to look, the Trump victory was that large.
Oh THANK GOD!! What an absolute wimp of a man. I have more testosterone than he does. SO happy to see this. No more wimpy a$$ emails sent to everyone in the command.
Finding out your OIC is PC crushes morale.
You should have seen the email he sent apologizing for “any perceived” offense because he used a non-PC phrase in an All Hands…
How is this not TREASON?! He says he won’t obey lawful orders from the President of the United States? Really? This slime is lucky he was ONLY fired.
I would prefer he was fired upon. 🙄
I read Esper’s interview at the link provided above and could not see anywhere in the article where he stated anything that would support the comment “Secretary Esper gave an interview to the Military Times the day after the election indicating he would not follow any further orders from the administration.” Did I misread the article? Can someone help me out here? I fully understand the SecDef hasn’t agreed with the POTUS on past issues but I didn’t pickup on the above comment in the Article. If he did in fact say that, then that would be a huge violation of his oath of office.
I wondered about this as well …
Is there any where else to read this as i do not disable my adblocker for anyone…
Esper said, in his latest talk, “I’m going to do what I’ve always done, which is try and shape it the best I can.”
Now go back over all of the times Esper has been at odds (sometimes to the point of public disobedience, when he spoke out against the President publically) with the President, especially the Vindman episode, when he was concerned about Vindman’s chances for promotion but not about the President being “impeached” on the basis of Vindman’s hurt feelings over not being followed by the President.
Esper was just one of the very many who obstructed President Trump — to the very limit of their ability to do so — solely on the basis of their own self-conceived “higher loyalty” and “integrity” (notice that Esper used that self-description himself). They very easily dismissed any consideration for the authority of the President, over their own measly “feelings”.
harrydhuffman, thanks for your response. I read that quote about ‘shaping it the best he can’ but did not interpret it to mean he would not follow orders from the POTUS. I took it to mean he would figure out a way to create a narrative to take a contentious situation and make it more palatable while still meeting the POTUS’s intent. An example could be his memo to the Department banning certain flags.
Mr. Esper is correct. He is a lobbyist, and he is indeed doing what he has always done. He was way above his “Peter Plateau.”
At the end of the day, Esper has shown he can not be trusted to possess knowledge of the nuclear launch codes.
We should be glad that Esper was fired by Trump.
Websites overwrite prior stories with not notification that they have and change the date
Sundance said in an interview the day after the election
That was Nov 4
Keyword searching at Military Times website
https://www.militarytimes.com/search/13944503/?q=esper+interview+nov.+4
… reveals an article Nov 5 with a byline to Megann Myers
… however the URL link underlying the article title says nov 9 (today)
… and clicking on the link brings me to a page time-stamped “7 hours ago”
It appears to me the earlier article has been updated and stamped with today’s date
Maybe the statements Sundance referred to have been edited out
It’s hard to look in Wayback because the link you were drop in there to search now has nov 9 instead of nov 5
I dropped in the current link and changed the nov “9” to “5”
Unsuccessful
They probably modified the article title too and therefore the link title
So unless Sundance or someone else read the Nov 5 article and can provide that original link, searching Wayback will be unsuccessful
If someone’s military, maybe phone Military Times and see if they’ll email you the Nov 5 article contents AND link
I also tried browsing Military Times and searching. Any search is overwhelmed by today’s news and their web page doesn’t seem very amenable to a simple scrolling-backward to look at previous articles
Maybe it’s me or my browser, perhaps others can try
But my searching did turn up that Nov 5 article, so that’s the target
Don’tcha just love when news services do this? (re-write and re-date articles with no traceability)?
Nimrodman, I appreciate the effort you put into searching for a potential earlier version that may have been overwritten. I understand what you’re saying about news services updating articles with little to no notice regarding their changes or updates but I had no idea you could somehow search for the previous or earlier versions. Thanks again.
thx Veteran
yeah, there’s the Wayback Machine (internet archive)
https://wayback.archive.org/
where you can drop in a URL link and it’ll show how many times the article has been captured / backed up
for a particularly important article, one that’s feared will be ‘disappeared’, people will drop the link in the wayback so it captures that article on that day
if the article is later modified or deleted, one can find the old article
IF one has saved the link or can get it provided to them
I had trouble with this one because the date is in the URL character stream
BUT – I did look up the author’s email at Military Times and sent her a request for the earlier link – we’ll see how that turns out
Yeah, there’s lots of ways to bird-dog news stories, these are just a couple tricks I use, I’m sure others here are way better at it then I am.
I’ll kill an hour nosing around if it’s an issue that’s important, but if I’m not making progress I’ll quit
here, try this yourself
go to wayback.archive.org
drop in this link:
https://cis.org/Cost-Welfare-Immigrant-Native-Households
you’ll see a timeline showing all the times that article was captured
you can then navigate on the calendar and pull up the article from any particular capture
in addition to people dropping in a link to get it captures, the archive software also “crawls the web” and captures much of the internet content
sometimes links will go dead at their original source as content is not kept up, websites discontinue, etc
as long as you’ve got the link (like an article will cite a link but the source page has gone dead) you can still copy/paste the link from the citing article and drop it in wayback and still read / download the original article
Thanks. That’s an awesome tool. I picked a couple random dates from their calendar for the link you provided and then ran the compare feature. The end results and side by side comparison was interesting.
In addition to Wayback Machine, you should also consider using archive.today from now on.
archive.today is an archive site which stores snapshots of web pages. It retrieves one page at a time similar to WebCite, smaller than 50MB each, but with support for JavaScript-heavy sites such as Google Maps and progressive web applications such as Twitter.
archive.today uses headless browsing to record what embedded resources need to be captured to provide a high-quality memento, and creates a PNG image to provide a static and non-interactive visualization of the representation.
Archive.today records only text and images, excluding video, xml, rtf, spreadsheet (xls or ods) and other non-static content.
Once a web page is archived, it cannot be deleted directly by any Internet user

thx, redlion
The Military times and all their sisters and brothers are owned by Gannett. You know, the same company that owns USA Today.
One of the members of the resistance. Just more leftist infiltration while we were being all “kinder and gentler”.
I too read the article because it would be infuriating to see someone at the level of SecDef defy orders from POTUS.
I read the article knowing the Military Times has taken a rather left wing turn in reporting over the past 15-20 years.
Do a keyword search on the article using “order” if you want to read it yourself. I read the article and the excerpt below knowing the Times would couch anything in wording most favorable to Esper.
Also understand when reading this, Esper is admitting to publicly ignoring the order to “assemble outside D.C.”.
“Then he had his first public break with the president, who had ordered active-duty troops from Fort Bragg, North Carolina, to assemble outside the D.C. area in case they were needed to put down violent protests.
“The option to use active-duty forces in a law enforcement role should only be used as a matter of last resort, and only in the most urgent and dire of situations,” Esper said, strongly countering the president’s threatening message. “We are not in one of those situations now. I do not support invoking the Insurrection Act.””
Ordering soldiers to move and assemble somewhere should be a fairly mundane order to carry out. Ordering their use upon arrival is something completely different. That Esper could not discern the difference proves he was not in the right position.
Remember a few days ago that Sidney Powell said trusted people in Military Intelligence should investigate the possibility that Hammer/Scorecard may have been used to interfere in the election to Biden’s benefit? Here we have Esper the day after the election saying he will refuse to follow any more of the President’s orders. Could these two things be connected? Hope that is not what it is, and it very well could be something else entirely, but the timing of him saying that just the day after the election seems suspicious.
Interesting tidbit by the author citing/legitimizing Miles Taylor, “mr anonymous ” nobody. Esper’s explanation of his thought process loudly echoed the one laid out by former Homeland Security Department official Miles Taylor in an anonymous 2018 New York Times essay, in which he described members of Trump’s staff removing memos from his desk and otherwise trying to redirect the president’s attention in order to keep him from doing something rash.
The Secretary of DEFENSE, during a disputed political issue at the highest level, decides not to follow the orders of his duly elected POTUS?
So, if you’re a Chicom you’d decide this is the perfect time to attack Taiwan, right?
This guy not only should be fired, but he should be charged with dereliction of duty and treason.
How did Esper and Mattis end up being Defense Secretary to begin with?
Esper first entered the administration as Secretary of the Army after being a corporate lobbyist. He later got promoted.
https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/tag/donald-trump?source=%2Fexclusive-trump-to-nominate-mark-esper-as-army-secretary%2Farticle%2F2629074
Mattis was a personal pick of President Trump’s. Apparently, he gave an impressive, one hour interview at Bedminster.
I don’t think the vetting process for Trump Administration staff is as thorough as it ought to be. He keeps choosing people who end up not supporting his goals. President Trump “goes with his gut” too often for my taste. But it’s his job to do, not mine.
I think the opposite…when he goes with his gut he wins, when he listens to others, well, he ends up with people like Esper.
I realize it’s who he is, and also how businessmen do things. I’m just not like that myself.
Whenever I was in a position to hire, I made tons of phone calls to past employers. Sometimes the best interviews are given by the best self-promoters. Esper had been a noted, successful lobbyist. That’s a kind of master salesman.
Esper used to be with the Heritage Foundation. Sometimes people fool you.
Will you clarify your comment? Why does association with the Heritage Foundation relate to Mr. Esper’s insubordination?
The comment was in relation to why he was hired in the first place.
And who TF are you to challenge me?
I only asked you a question, but that will never happen again
i also think his incredible number of bad hires has a lot to do with his heart. I still remember Trump saying he hired Sessions because he came to him groveling (my word) begging to be hired. I also think of Omarosa being on The Apprentice which proved to be a huge hit that first season. Being POTUS you cannot use your heart alone, have to temper it with a steely ability to look into peoples’ souls. Lots of rot has passed through his vetting process.
Or, there could be another explanation:
Trump already knew who was who, what their motivations were, and where they were compromised, and deliberately put them in positions to expose themselves and others.
Especially exposing others down the chain of command. Yes, this is the 4D chess theory, but it may be true.

Mitch’s speech, Barr’s authorization ~ genuine intent or attempt to mollify the 70 mil?
when this all started 4 years ago, i thought that it was all about protecting dinglebarry from the consequences of his attempts to fundamentally transform us and the fraud of his election in the first place. now i know that it is (always) just about the money
Good riddance. May this be the start of numerous firings of swap creatures.
Swamp creatures but you get it.
Now do Mark Milley
Operation Drain the swamp and MAGA .. Our Commander In Chief sounds the battle ready horn….I expect everything is going according to a long thought out battle plan.
Trump has studied well for a long time, he knew this day would come. He’s ready.
Mark Esper is a USMA/West Point grad; coincidentally so was Spenser Rapone aka “Commie Cadet.”
Tragic.
Couldn’t have happened to a nicer tool.
“Mark Esper has been terminated. I would like to thank him for his service… but he’s such a traitorous scumbag, I don’t think I will.”
Esper just seemed to be another self-serving swampy DC prig.
Looking forward to President Trump’s second term–he can go scorched earth, appointing anyone he jolly well pleases: An Acting fill-in-the blank here, an Acting fill-in-the-blank there, a Rick Grenell here, a Thomas Homan there. As someone suggested, maybe an “Acting” post for an indefinite period of time is better–screw Congress; don’t need their votes of approval. Just let Trump’s men and women do their jobs–and answer only to him–and God. And we the People.
Interesting… sure seems like Weissmann got his briefs in a bunch over the announcement..
The source of this quote is a criminal – the worst of the Deep State operatives. And, he has the nerve to talk about coup d’etat, given his role in the real coup d’etat attempt.
I can’t even figure what Weissman’s even going on about
PresTrump doesn’t need to reconfigure the military to stage a coup
PresTrump’s been the target of coup attempts
“Doesn’t anybody notice this? I feel like I’m taking crazy pills!”
– Mugatu, in Zoolander
In my opinion, this is part of an effort to influence Republicans. I know many people who support Donald Trump, but I have not heard anyone say that they support the Republican Party but not President Trump. I know these people exist, but they don’t “hang out” with ordinary Americans.
Deep State operatives like Weissmann will not influence Trump supporters. After what the Democrats did to this country over the last 5-6 years, there will not be a reconciliation between Democrats and Trump supporters. There may be a reconciliation between RINOs and Democrats, but no reconciliation between Patriots and Democrats. The Democrats are fighting for power and cash-flow control (the same as the RINOs). The people who support Donald Trump have a different agenda.
Since “they” are “keeping lists” – it goes without saying: SO ARE WE.
And Weissman, is at the top of a lot of people’s lists.
GOD willing – we get another 4 – the GLOVES WILL COME OFF. Those who VIOLATED THEIR OATHS WILL BE CALLED TO TASK.
At this point – having exhausted ALL OTHER OPTIONS – I might not feel so “butt hurt”, if we did pull a coup at this point. We have been the victims of a NEVER ENDING SOFT COUP for 4 years now. Might be a good thing if WE SWITCHED UP AND SHOWED THEM WHAT A REAL COUP LOOKS LIKE.
Of course Weismann is PROJECTING – as the left TYPICALLY DOES. I DID NOT WHOLLY TRUST ESPAR – as PDJT obviously didn’t either.
Everyone on the left, seems to have the impression that THE BUSINESS OF RUNNING AND PROTECTING A COUNTY, is somehow SUSPENDED from NOV 4th through Jan 20th. PDJT IS STILL PRESIDENT – UNTIL SOMEONE ELSE IS SWORN IN – NOT IMMEDIATELY AFTER HE CONCEDES HIS LOSS.
Look at way Barry Sotero did – sending the PA MILLIONS, on the way out the WH door.
THIS IS STILL OUR PRESIDENCY – and THOSE WHO UNDERMINE THE PRESIDENT SHOULD BE SHOWN THE DOOR AT THE EARLIEST POSSIBLE MOMENT. HE REQUIRES NO ONES PERMISSION.
And if we DO have a “military coup” – WEISMANN should be ONE OF THE FIRST ONES on a CARGO PLANE TO GITMO. Warm up the FIVE GALLON BUCKETS – WE WANT ANSWERS. And I’ll be these pansies couldn’t even last, PAST A GALLON.
A Mustang Officer from 5th Group a “flunky”?
Some day your alligator mouth is going to get your chihuahua ass in a jamb, Weissmann.
Remember the Dems and the media “war gamed” the contested election. This is a preplanned response.
Plainly obvious though not written in the tweet is what President Trump left unsaid about Esper:
I would like to thank him for his service. (But I can’t, because he’s a filthy, insubordinate swamp rat and doesn’t deserve to be thanked.)
“Secretary Esper gave an interview to the Military Times the day after the election indicating he would not follow any further orders from the administration.” I know it’s not funny but I chuckled at this line. I heard the voice of a long time work friend in my head when I read it. We’d be in a meeting, someone would say something stupid in front of the customer or the boss and you could count on this guy whispering, ‘There’s the CLM.’ CLM: career limiting remark. 🙂
I had a manager who said, “You can do anything you want your last day working here.”
Aside from Espers public insubordination – regarding the comments around the Insurrection Act – which should have resulted in his IMMEDIATE FIRING (although it wasn’t politically expedient at the time).
I’m still scratching my head at why this firing is occurring so late in the game?
I’m suspecting (though there’s a couple of different ways this could go) that it is to install a SECDEF that would be more amenable to deploying troops under the Insurrection Act – if the election flips back in our favor due to count/court challenges (insert fervent prayers here). Because as much as the street violence has calmed since THE MEDIA has installed Harris/Biden into the WH – if this flips the other way (back into our favor) – they are going to LOSE THEIR FRIGGING MINDS. The riots WILL ONLY BE QUELLED BY FEDERALIZING THE STATE NG’s (because dems like Don Cuomo WILL NOT DEPLOY THEM), and using regular military to defend DC.
(side note: DC being a “Federal Protectorate” – I don’t believe the Insurrection Act would need to be declared in order to deploy Active Duty Military into DC).
Another permutation could be the whole “military drags Trump from the WH” mantra, which Esper would do without hesitation.
We are getting close to (yet another) “constitutional crisis”. As shameful as it sounds – at this point, I would almost rather DJT go “full on despot” – than WHAT THE LEFT HAS PLANNED FOR ALL OF US.
Another side note: Was talking to a Never Trumper client of mine (attorney, I do IT for attorneys offices) last night. His position for why the votes flipped so radically: Trump voters were told to “vote in person” – and those votes were counted first (as it’s easier to count votes made in person) – while Biden voters were told to vote by mail. The mail in votes take longer to count – than the in-person-votes that were already in the system. In Florida (at least where I live) the ballots are “fill in the bubble” – then you run them into a scanner. So they are “tabulated” right there.
The question remains – will he leave peacefully? And if he refuses to, who removes him? Personally – I’d like to see Piglosi, Schmucker, Schiftt (who is keeping a creepily low profile at the moment) and the entire lot of them – strung up in the Washington Mall. With their bodies left for the birds to pick at (hey, it’s winter there, the birds have to eat too). And the whole commie wing shipped off to Venezuela.
I wish I was 20 years younger – I am not in the physical health to be able to go out and do battle in the streets any more.
Only served two years but for the life of me I will never understand career military that are on the left. What would draw them to a career that just seems to contradict everything the stand for?
Esper is a McCain, Flake, Romney, Republican. In addition to serving as an Airborne soldier, as a civilian he also worked at the Heritage Foundation. Sometimes the pedigree does not tell the entire story. I would have hired him for that position, myself.
There are more left leaning people in the military than you would believe.
Hell, Bush and Colin Powell fooled all of us as well. Many people are like femurs. They get soft as they age.
Your comment opens an interesting discussion. The left does not support the Constitution. They see it as an impediment to “progress.” Unless things have changed since I was in the military, we “signed on the dotted line” to support the Constitution. That was certainly the case if you had a Security Clearance. So, there is an inconsistency. You can’t support the Constitution and support left-wing initiatives that openly violate the Constitution. I really don’t care how lawyers torture the words in the Constitution. The Constitution is well written, and I understand English, and I don’t need some lawyer to tell me what those words mean. Furthermore, if you don’t like the words in the Constitution, there is a process for changing those words.
Promotion and after-service jobs in the M-I Complex (aka defense contractors).
Did I miss something in that article? I didn’t read where he said he wouldn’t follow any further orders from Trump.
But I’m glad he’s gone, none-the-less.
Mattis should have been recalled to active duty and face court martial.
It sure rattled someone’s cage though…
“politically-minded military flag officers”
Actually, career-minded flag officers, who came up as D-R UniParty partisans (we vs. American slubs) because D-R UniParty like endless wars, and that full rice bowls in USG and NGOs for senior American mil Officers and NCOs. They do not win wars because they do not want to win wars. Wars are rank and money. They do not develop strategic objectives because that would tie them to winning wars, which they do not want to do, because rank and money. And sex and drugs thrown in.
Also, flag officers are admirals (Navy, Coast Guard, Surgeon General). Army, Air Force, and Marine Corps starred officers are “general officers.”
Suggest using “GOs and ADMs” in place of “flag officers” unless you mean specifically ADMs. I know Army/AF/MC starred officers have aides carrying flags with their boss’s number of stars on them. That is not the point. Intra-service, “flag officers” is Navy, CG, and SG usage only. Army/AF/MC starred officers are “general officers.”
