CHICAGO – Former Chicago Comptroller Amer Ahmad has been taken into custody in Pakistan, where he apparently fled ahead of his sentencing in a federal fraud case in Ohio.

Dr. Usman Anwar, director of Pakistan’s Federal Investigation Agency in Punjab province said today that Ahmad was arrested at Lahore airport when he was trying to enter the country using a forged Mexican passport with a forged Pakistani visa.

“Our officers at the airport found that his passport and visa were forged. We also recovered his original American passport which he tried to hide. Then we searched his history on Google and found that he was guilty of fraud in US and wanted (by the) FBI,” Anwar said. “We have arrested him under (a) passport and visa fraud case which carries a punishment of seven years of imprisonment in Pakistan.” (more…)

The latest discovery of the Ben Rhodes email structuring the Benghazi Talking Points for U.N Ambassador Susan Rice to use on the post Benghazi attack Sunday Talk Shows confirms even more evidence into the White House cover up.

However, with that ‘Rhodes’ smoking gun email, people are asking who directed Ben Rhodes to deliver the false narrative about the Benghazi Attack and the lies about the U-Tube video.

As you read this report from the Energy and Commerce Committee it’s important to remember that today –TODAY– Kathleen Sebelius announced she was refusing to testify to a Senate Budget Panel (<— Democrats) about the costs and financial budget demands from HHS to pay for Obamacare.

Outgoing Health and Human Services Sec. Kathleen Sebelius is now refusing to testify before the Senate Appropriations Subcommittee on Labor, Health and Human Services, Education, and Related Agencies.    (link)

Here’s a probable reason she does not want to stand before the budget committee.

WASHINGTON, DC – Data provided to the committee by every insurance provider in the health care law’s Federally Facilitated Marketplace (FFM) shows that, as of April 15, 2014, only 67 percent of individuals and families that had selected a health plan in the federally facilitated marketplace had paid their first month’s premium and therefore completed the enrollment process.

Nationwide, only 25 percent of paid enrollees are ages 18 to 34.

The Subcommittee on Oversight and Investigations today invited the leaders of some of the nation’s largest insurance providers and their trade groups to testify at a hearing, “PPACA Enrollment and the Insurance Industry,” on Wednesday, May 7, 2014, at 10:15 a.m. in room 2123 Rayburn House Office Building.

House Energy and Commerce Committee members sent letters requesting specific enrollment data, including the number of individuals who have paid their first month’s premium and demographic breakdowns. (more…)

Al Sharpton and NAACP want a meeting with NBA to discuss “diversity” ?     But the league is 75-80% black…. oh, they want to discuss “ownership diversity”…   In that case I have an idea.   Each of the big 5 professional black grievance institutions should be forced to purchase a team.  

National Urban League could purchase the Pistons.
National Action Network could purchase the Nicks
NAACP could purchase the Hawks. etc

Then watch what happens….  would the grievance stop?

WASHINGTON (AP) — Several civil rights organizations applauding the NBA for its lifetime ban of Clippers owner Donald Sterling because of racist comments the league says he made in a recorded conversation.

However, those groups still want to meet with NBA commissioner Adam Silver to discuss diversity in the executive ranks of the professional basketball league and to figure out ways to ensure such situations don’t happen again.

The National Urban League, the National Action Network, the NAACP and the National Coalition on Black Civic Participation issued a joint statement cheering Silver’s announcement that he banned Sterling for life and that the league would attempt to force him to sell the Clippers. (more…)

Commissioner Silver will more than likely get the 75% supermajority vote he needs to oust Sterling, so now the question is….will Shelly Sterling want to run the team?   California’s  community property laws dictate that Shelly has a right to 50% of everything Donald owns…most importantly, that will be the Clippers.  Reportedly, she’s a long time fan of the game, and she really loves the team.

“When I was there she was very good and kind to me,’’ Harper said. “I was at a game last year, sat down and ate with her. She loves the team and the sport and loves basketball. She knows what’s going on. It’s probably going to hurt her more than him.”

Well……now the long knives are coming out for Shelly, and what she said Monday night certainly won’t help her case.  After publicly calling her husband despicable and scolding him for his racist comments, she’s goes out to dinner with him, and says he isn’t a racist and the tape was altered via TMZ.

V Stiviano, or whatever she’s calling herself this week, gives an interview to the LA Times, through her attorneys of course.

She swears she didn’t mean to boil the Donald’s bunny.  She’s devastated.  Devastated !  …She was a simple girl working on a doctoral thesis in waitressing while volunteer crime fighting and now needs legions of legal representatives….   

(LA Times)  V. Stiviano, the woman at the center of the Donald Sterling scandal, said she was “very saddened” by the NBA’s decision to ban him from the sport for life, her attorney said Tuesday.
V. Stiviano “never wanted any harm to Donald,” Calabasas lawyer Mac Nehoray of Calabasas told The Times. He said the 31-year-old is still reeling from the release of the recordings in which Sterling chastises her for associating with African Americans, including Magic Johnson.
He said that “someone released it for money” but it wasn’t Stiviano.  “My client is devastated that this got out,” he said.   […]  Stiviano’s lawyer said his client was a hard-working young woman who supported herself waitressing and volunteered helping crime victims before signing on to work as an “archivist” for Sterling.  (read more)

TEXAS – Despite the hype surrounding Texas Democrat Wendy Davis’s run for governor, the chairman of the Democratic Governors Association didn’t include her state in a list of top targets in 2014.
Ms. Davis, a state senator, gained national acclaim for filibustering a bill last year that increased regulation of abortion clinics and banned abortions after 20 weeks of pregnancy. Polls show Republican nominee Greg Abbott with a double-digit lead in the state, which hasn’t elected a Democrat since 1994.
“We’re hopeful in Texas but we all understand that Democrats haven’t won Texas in a long time,” DGA Chairman and Vermont Gov. Peter Shumlin told reporters Tuesday at the Third Way think tank. He added, “We hope this will be our year.”  (read more)

Arguments today – Ruling anticipated by end of June.

WASHINGTON DC – The US Supreme Court heard oral arguments  Tuesday in a pair of cases dealing with warrantless searches of suspects’ cell phones.

Riley v. California  [report] is a state court case that involves a challenge to searching an arrested individual without a warrant. After being arrested, police examined Riley’s cell phone, which was described as more of a hand-held computer. In granting certiorari, the court amended the question presented to: “Whether evidence admitted at petitioner’s trial was obtained in a search of petitioner’s cell phone that violated petitioner’s Fourth Amendment rights.” (more…)
