In response to the Ted Cruz campaign sending out the Iowa voter “Shaming Letters”, a strong Cruz advocate and radio talk show host Steve Deace couldn’t believe it:
The shaming letters sent by the Cruz campaign to Iowa voters initially surfaced on Friday.
The Stazi approach was so over the top almost all Ted Cruz supporters couldn’t believe the campaign would be so stupid, including Steve Deace: (more…)
It has now been confirmed – The photograph of Ted Cruz campaign shaming letters is legit (see below). The letters are officially from the Ted Cruz campaign.
Cruz spokesman Rick Tyler confirmed to IJ Review that the mailer was theirs in a phone call Friday evening, saying that the targeting had been “very narrow, but the caucuses are important and we want people who haven’t voted before to vote.” (link)
The personalized letters target individual Iowa voters and identifies them as having failed to vote in prior elections. They are admonished and then encouraged to vote this year. In addition the letters identify the neighbors of the voter, and provides their voting history.
CNN Outlines – The stress fractures within the Ted Cruz facade are beginning to reach the point where it’s no longer possible to keep them hidden. (Via CNN) […] as Cruz appears to be falling farther behind front-runner Donald Trump, his campaign is now looking in the rear-view mirror, concerned that Marco Rubio and the rest of the GOP field are closing in.
Cruz’s problems were in sharp relief at the Fox News debate in Des Moines Thursday night, where he was everyone’s favorite punching bag.
An independent poll from Michigan – SEE HERE – conducted by Mitchell Research shows candidate Donald J Trump with a commanding lead more than three fold greater than nearest rival, Ted Cruz.
The size of Donald Trump’s lead is in direct alignment with the massive rally attendance noted in his last visit to the state:
(Via Fox2) An exclusive Mitchell FOX 2 Detroit Poll of Michigan finds that Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton hold large leads over their nearest GOP and Democratic opponents, respectively. (more…)
Forget about trying to graph, measure or quantify how sharp Donald Trump’s political instincts are, he’s just off the charts. However, his decision to spotlight Ted Cruz’s greatest weakness, “the personality of Cruz“, the “in-authenticity”, is beyond brilliant.
Such a keen instinct is simply immeasurable.
Not only did Donald Trump win the seventh GOP debate by not showing up; and not only did Trump avoid the best laid ambush plans of the Fox News team; and not only did Donald Trump raise well over $6 million for American veterans; but by removing himself from the debate stage – Trump’s absence forced Ted Cruz out of the shadows and into the brightest possible sunlight.
Candidate Trump previously stated: “Ted Cruz is just a nasty person” – and by all accounts the pontificating arrogance and personality of Ted Cruz was not only captured by the broadcast, but for the first time Iowans who tuned-in saw first hand WHY Ted Cruz is the loneliest man in Washington DC. Good sample size, good methodology, strong poll. The latest poll from PPP (full pdf below) provides evidence of a commonly expressed sentiment: ‘The more Iowans see/hear of Senator Ted Cruz, the less they like him’, which makes Trump’s decision to put the Cruz smarm center of an Iowa stage even more brilliant.
The interesting internals in this poll reflect a possibility (a difficult to measure – but solid possibility) that Marco Rubio could actually upend Cruz from second place.
(Via PPP) – PPP’s new Iowa poll, conducted in partnership with Progress Iowa, continues to find Donald Trump leading in the state. He’s at 31% to 23% for Ted Cruz, 14% for Marco Rubio, 9% for Ben Carson, 4% each for Jeb Bush, Mike Huckabee, and Rand Paul, 3% for Carly Fiorina, 2% each for Chris Christie and John Kasich, and 1% each for Jim Gilmore and Rick Santorum.
Since we last polled Iowa two and a half weeks ago Trump and Cruz are the only candidates to see their support move by more than a couple points- Trump’s seen a 3 point gain in his support from 28% to 31%, while Cruz has seen a corresponding 3 point decline in his support from 26% to 23%. (more…)
Let it not be said that we fail to follow through.
Outlined below is part of the video from a 19 minute segment Megyn Kelly ran on her show allowing Glenn Beck to launch an attack against Donald Trump without any push-back.
The entire “interview” (actually a one-way diatribe) was targeted to a Fox audience that has not, and does not, pay attention to political comings and goings 24/7/365; in essence, the casual political follower.
There is a lot of misinformation in that entire exposition; but one very specific part of the misinformation that needs to be showcased, and, as luck would have it, exists within our archives – because of the intense importance the moment provided in understanding what was going on in DC. (more…)
FOX NEWS: “We learned from a secret back channel that the Ayatollah and Putin both intend to treat Donald Trump unfairly when they meet with him if he becomes president,” Fox News said in the statement, adding this gem: “A nefarious source tells us that Trump has his own secret plan to replace the Cabinet with his Twitter followers to see if he should even go to those meetings.”
Fox News has announced the candidate debate lineup and again there are two tiers. Eight candidates in the 9:00pm “Top Tier” debate, and four candidates in the 7:00pm “Lower Tier” (kiddie table) debate:
…I’d rather vote for a single billionaire I know, than support the dozens of billionaires who hide behind the scenes…
Another series of polls today from CNN/ORC (full pdf below), and from NBC (Iowa) show a convergence of statistical support. Candidate Donald Trump continues to solidify his lead and the base of his support grows ever more firm:
(Via CNN) Washington – Donald Trump has hit a new high in the race for the Republican nomination, according to a new CNN/ORC Poll, with more than 4-in-10 Republican voters nationwide now saying they back the billionaire.
And more than two-thirds of Republicans say he’s the candidate most likely to capture their party’s presidential nomination. (more…)
..”We are not electing a pastor … We are electing a President to lead a nation”..
(Via U.S.A. Today) Donald Trump picked up an endorsement Tuesday from a prominent evangelical, Jerry Falwell Jr.
In announcing his endorsement of the businessman’s presidential bid, the president of Liberty University described Trump as “a successful executive and entrepreneur, a wonderful father and a man who I believe can lead our country to greatness again.”
