Boeing engineers and technical workers have voted to go on strike. The strike could start in October.
The workers rejected a nearly 30% pay increase over four years.

Boeing has shown increased attention over the years to locations outside Seattle.
No operations in city of Seattle, just 5 in surrounding area. HQ moved out of Seattle about the time Bank of America HQ – founded by an Italian during the Gold Rush – left San Francisco. IIRC, early 21st century oughts.
Biting off their nose to spite their face.
Unions have become an enemy of the people.

Wow. Hate to state the obvious, but this man gets absolutely no traction on this site -from Treepers or anyone else. Here’s hoping their Obama 2.0 (John Osoff) continues to rake himself, for I fear our Obama 2.0 could be in deep, deep trouble.
This posting was yesterday and there are only 38 comments.
No one is interested in this guy. He just doesn’t have it.
Help me get behind Vance for 2028; I’m just not there.
H1-B for example.
But worse is the funding behind his run for office, and despite his rhetoric he presents as a lukewarm supporter of things American and Constitutional.
I know he is a former Marine. I know his family story. I know his public support of Trump. My hesitation is not with concrete examples but intuitive and I cannot quiet that inner voice.
Is it his vocal pattern? His body language? His facial structure? I don’t know either, but it is damned sure something.
There is an unseen and unspoken allegiance to something and some people outside the American border and outside the American concept of liberty, the rule of law, and private property. It is a feeling, so stop yelling at me. And elections are aaallll about money so I have no Mister Smith Goes to Washington fantasy, though I embrace the concept.
He just gives off that McCain vibe. “Reach across to my friends on the other side of the aisle to get things done” kind of deceit. The sort of Swamp accounting that dismisses DOGE, balanced budgets, fiscal reality, chyneez espionage, and the very real threat of islamification of the US. That last point is vital to the health of the health of our nation; there is no moderate moslem, only a deadly threat. I see Vance as a “Yes, but…” on that and many other points.
Maybe I am off base.
You said what I’ve felt about him but couldn’t find the words. “Lukewarm supporter” will be the death of us, our constitution and country. Maybe I’m wrong too but he’s been working with our President and I don’t see the fire we need to lead/fight us through the coming invasions.
JD is for JD. Period.
I was hoping but now seeing him a little different…
He rose from nowhere, boosted by the tech bros. He never held public office before he decided to run for the senate and somehow got the nod from PDJT to be VP after an undistinguished stint there.
The world saw how quickly his “I’m-okay-you’re-okay” foreign policy ineptitude led nowhere with the mad mullahs.
Personally, I think Vance was the price PDJT paid to get the tech bros to gravitate away from the socialists.
The republicans are doing the socialists a favor by getting behind Vance. The only thing that might save us is their foolishness.
Donald Junior pushed JD as Vice President. He is smart and has an interesting story but that’s about it. Oh has a book and a movie about himself too.
I remember reading that too. Don jr. Is with the tech people?
I am still extremely disappointed that Trump did not pick Ben Carson to be his vice president. Nigel Farage was highly confident that Ben Carson was going to be our next vice president as well but I guess Trump thought he needed Peter Thiel to defeat the Democrats and Peter Thiel’s price was to accept one of his former employees, Vance.
Carson has health issues.
And too old. Next one has to be younger to be there long enough to cement the changes.
He is serving where the Good Lord placed him, appointed by President Trump and in keeping with his medical expertise.
https://truthpress.com/news/ben-carson-joins-the-trump-administration/
Elder statesman at this point.
FWIW, Vance is wayyy better than Pence!! Hence, Trump made a far better deal than in 2016.
Trump 2028!
You are not off base, been there for a while. Something is amiss here, he’s just NOT the guy for me. Too polished, too scripted, too politican, probably the money behind him as well.
In addition, there is the lack of experience.
Definitely, thanks for adding that one.
He is quick. I like that in a President.
You are not alone… I’m certain more people feel the same way than most suspect
JD Vance is a non-starter. He thinks he will be anointed the 2028 candidate. Sorry, JD.
It’s kind of sad.
Vance comes from a truly working class hardscrabble background that as a MAGA Republican could have made him super relatable and a fighter.
Enter his Ivy League education, his hobnobbing with Big Tech guys and Ramaswamy at Yale and his immersion in Hindu/Indian culture with his wife.
Vance “could have been a contender.”
Wow, there are sure a lot of Trolls commenting on this site. Probably paid by George Soros, Sing, and wealthy LEFTISTS!
You are wrong on this one. People really don’t see him as the next President. Sorry.
Always listen to that inner voice, Dan.
I have several vying for attention on many issues. There’s is no gravitas with Vance, a cookie cutter political personae who may say all the “right” things but still lacks (it seems to me) those qualities which can come only with experience…of which he has precious little.
I get the sense from his interviews that he has no single, immutable passion for the nation, even though he makes all the right noises. That there is a small part of him which inclines toward accommodating foreign workers. Would I call him an undeclared corporatist? Who are his donors…
In short, I can not place what shreds of trust I have left in him as a natural heir to Donald Trump’s clear love of America and Americans…and their welfare or the fury that they have been crucified for decades on the altar of “free trade”. Vance might have it, but I’m not seeing, or yes, feeling it.
Has he disavowed his close association with Carlson and Carlson’s shocking, very public diversion into the realms of the unhinged? If so, I am unaware. Much can be assumed in silence.
Just an inadequate, short explanation of that still, deep, small voice of mine which won’t shut up…
Well put! I couldn’t put my finger on what I didn’t like about him but you just did it for me. Thank you.
I struggled on this one, sis, as you apparently did. Even as I posted it, I knew I hadn’t managed to frame my unease well enough. That was the best I could do…
Dang it. I should have scrolled down and read your comments before responding. You nailed it, Betsy. Vance doesn’t have the chops!
Bless, Lorrie. There’s something, but I’m darned if I can (as with Jazzbogie above) “put my finger on what exactly.
We’ve been spoiled with President Trump. There’s not another like him…he’s a phenomenon… in the pipeline unless you count Rubio. And even then, but he’s the closest in a list of probabilities to run.
My view only.
As you pointed out, he pretty much says all the right things… but man, he gives me RINO Obama vibes. He feels more like an actor than our next great leader… we don’t feel his authenticity because I don’t know that he has any. As Sundance has gone into his ties to Thiel, I have no trust to offer him.
I know DC wants to get back to business as usual once Elvis leaves the building. Only time will tell.
Have you seen the crop of American youngsters?
Love your posts Betsy… I have a likeminded small voice telling me the same thing, but in much harsher language. 🙂
Happy Sunday to you and Treepers everywhere. Our day will be what we make of it.
And to you, Mike. My inner voice resembles yours on occasions 😎 It does, however, get checked at the door before I use my outside one.
I do not see a fighter in Vance.
Mr. Trump is the H1-B king.
Reversing all the jobs created in the last 4 years…”went to other people”. Why would he say something like that?
He and Vivek. It will be good to see what Vivek does in his first year if elected. Vivek has never run anything. His drug business was selling failed drugs.
JD is the all American dream candidate. Pres. Trump has said JD is the person he believes will carry out the America First agenda. IMHO Rubio is swamp. Look at how he is being promoted. From the meme’s to the economic talkers. Rubio was the dream candidate of the tea party. He then became their nightmare. His sweet talk and smooth words got him elected to Fl senate. So all those pushing Rubio, they should watch his fall from grace. Trump saved Rubio, but Rubio is one of many snakes.
President Trump did not say that.
He has never given even the hint of an endorsement of James Donald David Bowman Hamel Vance for future office.
Wrong.
Where do you get your news? Rubio is nothing short of AMAZING! He has been a great Secretary of State.
I can never bring myself to trust Rubio since he attempted to grant mass amnesty to 11 million illegal aliens during his time in the Senate. Rubio’s 11 million illegals is much bigger than Reagan’s 3 million illegals and 3 million illegals was enough to turn California from a red state to a blue state. Now imagine the damage Rubio’s 11 million illegal aliens would cause to other red states.
How you can tell Rubio is deep state swamp was the difference between him and Devin Nunes response to Comey informing both the House and Senate Intelligence Committee of their spying operation against President Trump and his presidential campaign.
Devin Nunes responded by publicly whistle blowing that the intelligence community was spying on President Trump and his campaign at the cost of Paul Ryan banning him from the House Intelligence Committee. Meanwhile, Rubio’s response was to publicly call President Trump a liar when Trump accused the intelligence community of spying on him after being informed by Devin Nunes’ whistle blowing.
In the end, Devin Nunes defended President Trump during his entire first term while Rubio was still defending and protecting the Deep State FBI operation against Trump. Funny how it took near the end of Biden’s term before Rubio started acting like the FBI operation against Trump was unconstitutional.
“Sen. Marco Rubio is refuting President Trump’s latest claims that his campaign was being “illegally” spied on following the FBI’s release of heavily redacted documents detailing the surveillance of former Trump campaign aide Carter Page.
The Florida Republican, speaking with “Face the Nation” on Sunday, said that “anything and everything” he’s seen while serving on the Senate Intelligence Committee indicates the FBI “did not spy on the campaign.”
Marco Rubio: The FBI had many reasons to look into this guy. And looking into him is not “spying” on Trump campaign, because as the White House made clear last year, he was “not an ‘advisor’ to Mr. Trump in any sense of the word.”
https://x.com/marcorubio/status/1021032141390581762
Considering all this, it makes you wish President Trump did not give a second chance to a snake like Marco Rubio and instead, Devin Nunes would be our Secretary of State right now because Devin Nunes deserves it for defending the Constitution at the cost of his political career.
Well then, I guess we’d better believe in “people can change”.
I don’t see anyone else with enough charisma, authenticity, successful and relevant experience, and, oh yeah, winnability -other than Rubio.
I can’t believe this guy is the heir apparent.
I love Vance on trade!
I like America First. Any return to the immigration and economic policy of Marco Rubio 1.0 will lead to disaster for the Republican Party. I can’t shake the image of Marco trailing behind Chuck Schumer as an advocate for foreign labor.
Rubio’s silence on his Cuban base in Florida demanding mass amnesty and open borders by overwhelmingly re-electing Maria Elvira Salazar in her primary pretty much means you can not trust so called Cuban conservatives / republicans at all. Cuban republicans are just conservative toward Cuba but left wing on everything else. If Cuban republicans were really conservative, Maria Elvira Salazar would have been censured and lose her recent primary but she easily wins her primary despite advertising her disastrous and treasonous Dignity Act bill 24/7, which would be kryptonite to conservative voters outside of Florida.
JD Vance
Marco Rubio
Ted Cruz
Ron DeSantis
This is what the primary looks like to me.
My first question is to Sundance – who gets your vote? Or neither, if neither than who other than a vote splitter?
Second question is for the thread who then?
I am for a governing executive vs. any former senator with no real world large scale management experience.
My government hero has always been former governor Ronaldus “Magnus” Reagan.
Prove me wrong
Rubio gets mu vote!!
Reminder Vance is 100% responsible for telling Vivek to run for governor of Ohio. What should have been an easy win for republicans became much more difficult because Vivek is too much like a snake oil salesman. Lieutenant Governor of Ohio Jim Tressel would have been an automatic shoe-in for the next Ohio governor since he has way less baggage than Vivek but unfortunately, the Ohio GOP chairman decided to throw out all his common sense just because of Vance
Too bad for Ohio.
Growing up it was solid red.
When Vance went to Jerusalem in his capacity of VP in October 2025, he made a point to visit the Christian Church of the Holy Sepulchre, instead of the Jewish “Wailing Wall” as most US politicians do. I respect that in him.
Wow !!! : )
That vision, that conversation, that action plan with the USA citizens would be very useful to share with USA citizens – by us, to others
It may take a couple of re-listens to comprehend all of the substantive material, facts, love of God, country and family etc..
( because the c-dem complicit, pretend media sure is not going to amplify the messaging etc. )
imho
To me, Vance is like a cardboard pop-up, a puff of smoke. He just doesn’t have any depth or substance. At this point, I pray he’s not the nominee in ’28.
I liked the speech. It won’t be popular with libertarians and bribed politicians because it calls attention to the traitorous damage they have done to their fellow Americans.
Chronicles Magazine
“Veeps of Faith”
“I never discuss anything else except politics and religion,” G. K. Chesterton once quipped when an editor asked him to consider writing about other topics.
Donald Trump’s two vice presidents seem to agree with Chesterton. They are conducting dueling promotional tours for books that expound their creeds, sacred and mundane.
https://chroniclesmagazine.org/web/veeps-of-faith/
I didn’t want to listen to his speech because Vance doesn’t rev my engine, however I made myself listen because like it or not he’s potentially the next President of the United States.
To a degree it was a cookie cutter America First speech delivered somewhat monotone.
His words were solidly Pro-American but sounds obligatory rather than pissed off at politicians that have put our country in this position. It looked and felt staged. Unauthentic.
He personally has got to get some big wins in leading the charge against Fraud and Corruption. But it feels like he got the assignment from a Dad who built a business with his blood sweat and tears and is turning the business over to his undeserving son.
If Rubio changed so can Vance. I’m often unhappy with President Trump’s endorsements, but he’s still the best President this country has had in decades.
Things move to fast now to not be open minded and flexible with how we think about politicians inside our tent. Keep listening and watching.
He has slimmed down. Looking good!
I like JD Vance as VP, not prez. I believe Rubio would be a better prez than JD.
After all the serious and experienced and sharp and gravitas guys like Dole, McCain and Romney, I would happily trust DeSantis, Rubio or Vance. any of them can fulfill the office well and any three of them, people can rag on why they can’t.
All three are highly skilled, all three have necessary character.
I am suspicious of the media’s favourite, every time.
There is A LOT of good content in that speech,
and actions are underway to help good things to happen in America the beautiful.
[ and the fake media does not want the American people to know,
so, the fake media distracts….propagandizes etc.
(avoids sharing whole truths, again, and again and again… ]
Charlie Kirk was encouraged J.D. Vane early on. Have the Treepers forgotten this?? Charlie Kirk would not have endorsed an Obama 2 clone type -where are people getting this??
oops encouraged not was encouraged – Vane = Vance oops typed too quickly
