Took a much needed break from commenting, although I still checked out the Cursday and Caturday every week.
Came down with a cold early August. I get one every August (see my lengthy comment to Soaz). The cold wasn’t bad, only two days of misery then quickly recovered.
Am dealing with some “soul searching” with Blue, (see my comment to Soaz). I talk with our Lord about the situation since he has gifted me Blue as he knew how much I have loved horses.
Cats are all doing well and are a constant presence, sleeping in the middle of my paths, getting me with their “murder mittens” when I am not aware they are hiding under something, tormenting Beau daily and just a continuous laugh a day for me.

My personal paralysis device is currently napping on the deck. Time to get some work done before it becomes sentient again.

In the UK fans of Art Deco are many. And with all the antique and art fairs, there is ample opportunity to add to collections. I worked with a woman whose son and daughter in law were avid collectors of Clarice Cliff, and so I broadened my poor horizons in the knowledge….and appreciation of pieces from that period.

Thank you, dear sister! We are doing okay. Latest PET Scan was very good. Just one small spot of active disease in the lymph node. So Elizabeth got a month break from the chemo and tomorrow morning we are heading for a few days to the Florida Panhandle with a stopover and a dinner in New Orleans.
Nipper is a handsome 11 year old young man who is getting taller by the minute. Started 6 grade already. I will pass the hug along. 😍

Enjoy the trip. We took it from DFW area to Jacksonville for our son’s wedding. Two days to get there and one for the return journey. They’ve added three children since then, with the latest only three months old now. Safe and uneventful travels I’ll wish for you both, dear friend, with an angel on both your shoulders 😘

Did the trip to Jacksonville a few times when our daughter was stationed in Georgia. Straight shot to Jacksonville then first Georgia exit on 95. That was a nice gated community on a golf course. I don’t golf but enjoyed the Tiki bar at the pool where our son in law had a running tab. 😆

Afternoon dear lady . . . A neighbor’s 75 ft tall tree fell into my yard. Took out his fence, fell on an old car in my driveway, and took down my power lines and computer hard wiring connection.
Surprisingly, despite everything I still have power to the house and study and I still have internet. I have a tree service coming but I’m removing limbs around my wiring myself as I don’t trust his generic tree trimmers to safeguard my wiring. I’ve
made good headway despite the 101F temps.
I’m taking my time so I’ll need a couple more days of careful limb trimming. This is *not* something I was planning on happening to me in high summer . . .

There are so many horses out where I live that live in tiny enclosures, no shelter or shade. I’ve called agencies, offered to take the poor souls off their owner’s hands, bought fly masks for them, and even offered to pay for farrier services.

Grace: a gift that is not earned.
One of the things I love about this hymn is where the focus is. The focus is on Christ, and not on me or my feelings.
It is not about what I need to do to enhance and decorate my faith. It is not about a need for me to have frequent, two-way conversations with Jesus. It is not about me trying to convince God that my own efforts can make me worth His attention and mercy (hopeless task).
It is about Christ’s finished work on the cross, once and for all, dating back nearly 2000 years. It is about what He has done for the whole human race, including you and me, to be received by any of us who simply trust His Word.
That actually does inspire my gratitude, joy, and comfort. So I guess it actually is about my feelings to that extent.

Bringing attention to Christ is much different than bringing attention to oneself in the name of Christ.
My favorite example of one who did this well is Barnabas. He worked behind the scenes, and was trusted among the elders.
His encouragement was essential at Paul’s conversion, and throughout his later ministry.
He was a descendant of Levi, like myself, and also a “quiet professional.”
