OMAHA – Police on Wednesday booked a 22-year-old Omaha man identified as a suspect in the assault and robbery of an elderly woman in the back of St. Cecilia Cathedral.
They also arrested his mother.
Wayman Clark of Omaha was booked into the Douglas County Jail on suspicion of robbery, said Officer Michael Pecha, a police spokesman.
Clark’s mother, Charlean Clark, 53, of Omaha, was booked on suspicion of being an accessory to a felony for harboring a fugitive, a felony.

Within the politically expedient reaction in the North Charleston Walter Scott shooting, SLED moved instantaneously to charge Officer Micheal Slager. As we said at the time, the speed of their investigative decision seemed weighted more to avoid a Ferguson-like reaction than a prudent investigative approach.
As we have seen numerous times – within such a quick response, the construct of full investigative inquiry is almost always lost. As a direct consequence – any fallibility within the case then becomes a risk to the previous assertion. To avoid sunlight upon such a risk, the prosecution maneuvers to make follow-up investigation more difficult. [*note the picture contained within the article – look familiar?]
South Carolina – Defense attorneys for a North Charleston police officer have asked state investigators for a chance to inspect clothing that the lawman and Walter Scott were wearing as they fought moments before Scott’s shooting death.
Former officer Michael Slager remains jailed on a murder charge after he fatally shot Scott, 50, in the back on April 4. (more…)

Twice last year the business owners within Ferguson Missouri begged the police to stop their stores from being looted, torched and destroyed.  Both times their pleas fell on deaf ears.
The second time the Missouri governor promised to use the National Guard to protect them; but when it really mattered the National Guard were told to stand down – the town was torched, businesses lost.
Today a desperate community pleaded with Saint Louis leadership to protect them.  Perhaps, the third time is a charm?  Ongoing….

You knew it was only a matter of time before stories like this began to surface.  A white male police detective pulls over a black male suspect.  The police officer tells the suspect to remain in his car, and calls for backup. 
The suspect ignores the order, exits his car, plays the race-card against the cop, then fights him for his gun.  Suspect takes custody of LEO  firearm and beats him unconscious with it, while the surrounding crowd chant joyfully, take pictures, and laugh at the sight of a cop being beaten bloody. 

ALABAMA – Alabama police are outraged after photos of a detective beaten bloody by a suspect who stole his gun during a traffic stop were shared by witnesses and praised on social media. (more…)

SEATTLE – Activists with Black Lives Matter protests halted a political rally in Seattle where Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders was scheduled to speak on Saturday afternoon.

…”Sanders stood by silently the entire time. Eventually, organizers decided to end the event and the Vermont senator did not return to the microphone”….

“We’re shutting this event down — now,” said an activist who suddenly leapt on stage. She approached the microphone where Sanders had just begun speaking, thanking attendees for welcoming him to “one of most progressive cities in the United States of America.” An event organizer attempted to stop the activist, and a heated exchange ensued as the crowd booed. There’s still a better than 50/50 possibility Michael Slager will be acquitted because the prosecutor is only charging capital murder.

SOUTH CAROLINA – A judge will consider granting bail during an Aug. 27 hearing for the former North Charleston police officer charged with murder in Walter Scott’s shooting death.

Circuit Judge Clifton Newman will preside over the 10 a.m. bond hearing at the Charleston County Judicial Center at Broad and Meeting streets, prosecutors and attorneys involved with the case said Thursday. (more…)

Reverse the races and this would be playing 24/7 on CNN.  However, specifically because it does not fit the preferred media narrative, it’s doubtful this story will reach a single national news broadcast.
Update GRAND RAPIDS (WZZM) – Grand Rapids police say they have arrested five people for their roles in an assault captured on a cell phone video July 28. The Kent County Prosecutor’s Office has authorized charges of Assault with Intent to do Great Bodily Harm less than Murder for four juveniles and a 17 year old.

Assault with Intent to do Great Bodily Harm less than Murder has a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison and a $5,000 fine. Grand Rapids Police say the investigation is still going on, and wants to thank the public for assistance in providing leads in the case.

Most readers here are familiar with the set-up; Marilyn Mosby and Angela Corey followed the same plan. Unfortunately most of those who rely on the MSM will be unaware the extent of the prosecutor railroading.

This new motion by the defense reveals a few new aspects: 
#1) The prosecutor in charge of the case, Janice Bledsoe (also partner of WBAL-TV reporter) was the defense attorney for Freddie Gray in a prior case. 
#2) Bledsoe told police in this case, not to investigate the evidence that Gray ‘intentionally injured himself’. 
#3) Bledsoe also did not tell the Medical Examiner, that witness Donta Allen heard Gray trying to injure himself.  
BALTIMORE – The police detectives who investigated the death of Freddie Gray were told that he had a history of participating in “crash-for-cash” schemes — injuring himself in law enforcement settings to collect settlements — but were advised by a state prosecutor not to pursue the information, according to defense attorneys for the six officers charged in Gray’s arrest and death. Posted without much comment.  Maybe I’ll update or expand tomorrow with thoughts, after lowered blood pressure, maybe not.  Believe me, there’s no comfort -NONE- in knowing you are right, and having it proven over time, when the outcomes are ultimately choices between the lesser of two losing propositions.
