Progressive Liars – yeah, I know, it’s an oxymoron…..  But there is no doubt when it comes to espousing an ideology a progressive will do anything, say anything and avoid anything that does not reconcile with their ideological view of the world.  They are notorious fibbers.

Such is the case with former Congresscritter Gabby Giffords as she claims, falsely, that Jared Loughner evaded a background check.   He didn’t, he passed one.   But progs cannot let a pesky thing like truth get in the way of their pontifications, an all too familiar mantra.

I think about patience every day as I continue to regain my speech and the mobility I lost after I was shot in the head two years ago, while meeting with my constituents in the parking lot of grocery store in my district.

WASHINGTON DC – Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid said Friday that unless nominations start moving swiftly through the Senate, another round of dramatic rules changes may be in the offing.

The Nevada Democrat said that while he was “happy” with the modest rules changes adopted in January on a bipartisan basis, the number of pending judicial nominations led him to warn his colleagues of the potential for the chamber’s rules to be modified at any point in the year, not just at the opening of a new Congress. FOX News Charles Krauthammer hits the nail squarely on the head. Dear Leader bit off more than he could chew when he choose to attack gun control as a legacy initiative. It’s going nowhere because, despite what the media tells you, the majority oppose the idea(s). Senators and Congresscritters have been swamped by constituent calls about gun confiscation efforts.

Now Obama just uses the issue to generate campaign money. Period.

“All he wants now is the money… He’s lost on gun control. Do you think any of this is going to make any difference? It’s not going to make a bit of difference. Knowing all that he’s out there exploiting it as an issue. He’s not going to get the solution he wanted.”

(Via WeaselZippers)  NEW YORK  –  A New York father has had his firearms all but confiscated after the Suffolk County Pistol License Bureau suspended his pistol license indefinitely over a perceived threat made by his 10-year-old son and two of his classmates at school.

John Mayer, of Commack, N.Y., told TheBlaze that the incident occurred on March 1. It was like any other day, the father explained. He put his son on the bus and sent him off to school.

Later that day, Mayer got a call from school officials informing him that his 10-year-old son and two other students were talking about going to a boy’s house with a water gun, “paint gun” and a BB gun. There had reportedly been a school yard pushing incident the day before involving the boys, excluding Mayer’s son, and they were seemingly talking about getting even in some way. (more…)

UNITED NATIONS – The Obama administration joined 153 other nations Tuesday in approving an arms trade treaty opposed by the U.S. gun lobby.

Adoption of the treaty sets up a showdown between the White House and Congress, where a majority of senators have called on the president not to sign the treaty because it regulates small arms.

In one of the amendments to the Senate Budget last month, lawmakers voted 53 to 46 to stop the United States from joining the treaty.

The administration and treaty proponents say it would have no impact on the Second Amendment, since it applies to arms exports and not domestic arms sales.  (read more)

This article is representative of why we cannot have an honest discussion about violence in this country without being labeled as racist.

One of the key tenets of Progs is their capacity to use congnitive dissonance to reconcile their arguments/positions.  They ignore the water in the rain and describe getting wet as a problem.  The truth does not fit this agenda.

Articles and interviews would flood the media, and we’d have political debates demanding that African Americans be “held accountable.” Then, if an atrocity such as the Newtown, Conn., shootings took place and African American male leaders held a news conference to offer solutions, their credibility would be questionable. The public would tell these leaders that they need to focus on problems in their own culture and communities.

But when the criminals and leaders are white men, race and gender become the elephant in the room.

Nearly all of the mass shootings in this country in recent years — not just Newtown, Aurora, Fort Hood, Tucson and Columbine — have been committed by white men and boys. Yet when the National Rifle Association (NRA), led by white men, held a news conference after the Newtown massacre to advise Americans on how to reduce gun violence, its leaders’ opinions were widely discussed.
