Health and Human Services Secretary Tom Price appears on ABC with Martha Raddatz to discuss the collapsing ObamaCare health system, congressional inaction, and the possible action available to the executive branch via HHS regulations.
President Trump tweeted out earlier today that more “bailouts” for insurance companies should not be part of ongoing healthcare policy. And in a remarkable and righteous aspect our President also implies that without legislative reform, bailouts (subsidies) to their own personal healthcare benefits could also be stopped.
Yes, approach this could mean congress would have to pay the full amount of their own health insurance costs, just like every other American who makes over $150k per year.

All President Trump needs to do is tell HHS Secretary Tom Price to change a rule initiated by the Office of Personnel Management during the Obama administration that allows members of congress to receive subsidies like DC small businesses. That rule was a work-around to avoid legislation that required congress to join ObamaCare.
Members of congress, and their entire staff, exclusively get massive subsidies so they don’t have to feel the financial impacts of purchasing health insurance. Losing those subsides just might get their attention – when their bloated staff start shouting in their ears.

At 1:45am on July 28th 2017, Republican Senator John McCain together with Lisa Murkowski and Susan Collins voted against the ObamaCare repeal in the Senate; ensuring the failing ObamaCare health care takeover and economic drag continues.
This should not come as a surprise. McCain has a legacy of voting against the American people to the benefit of his corrupt legislative corporate handlers. Yet, the vote was still blood-boiling in ramification and consequence.
Additionally, it should be noted for an accurate record that Nevada Republican Senator Dean Heller delayed his own roll call vote, skipped his name when called, until he was able to see that McCain cast the vote against America.
When Heller was safe – as in: able to hide his malicious intent and vote “aye” at the conclusion of the roll- he gave the appearance of support. A very typical albeit Machiavellian maneuver, customarily subtle and historically utilized by Senator Ted Cruz with few paying attention.
Senator McCain’s vote holds much larger ramifications than just the continuance of ObamaCare. Inherent within the retention is a reality that any tax reform, tax cuts to benefit the middle-class, will also necessarily be diminished.

The Senate is Debating the “Skinny Repeal” (full pdf below) bill to reform ObamaCare. A vote is anticipated around 12:00am EDT to 1:00am EDT. The bill is below so you can review the language.
The “skinny repeal” plan would eliminate the individual mandate (requiring nearly all Americans to obtain health insurance or pay a penalty), and repeals the employer mandate (which obligates larger companies to provide affordable coverage to their full-time workers). The plan would also get rid of the Obamacare tax on medical device makers. The senate debate is ongoing.

The Senate votes on a motion to proceed, beginning debate on the legislation. However, unlike typical Senate procedure, many lawmakers are unclear on what the actual healthcare reform bill will be.
♦ Latest: 2:40pm Republican Senators Lisa Murkowski and Susan Collins have voted against proceeding. All other republican senators have voted to proceed. (live stream link)
3:00pm Senator John McCain arrives to vote “aye”. Senator Ron Johnson also votes ‘yes’. Senator Joe Manchin has voted “nay”. All Democrats are voting along party line no defectors..
3:10pm With final vote to proceed tied at 50/50 Vice President Mike Pence casts the tie-breaking vote and the motion to proceed passes.

3:15pm Senator John McCain took to the floor to deliver a speech (video added below). McCain stated he voted to proceed with debate, but he will never vote for the Senate bill. Instead McCain demands the entire process begin again; starting over in committee (time for more lobbyist $$).
McCain then delivers a 10 minute speech filled with virtue signaling, pearl clutching, and ‘reach-across-the-aisle’ “isms”; while demanding that all senators stop listening to the American people and return to the preferred way of indulging in their own Senatorial best interests. McCain communicated to the chamber that the American electorate are too stupid to know what’s good for them, and the Senators should rule over the proles.
Despite his looming incapacity and terminal brain cancer, McCain refuses to resign.
Donald Trump was entirely right about John McCain.

At approximately 3:15pm EDT President Trump is scheduled to deliver a healthcare speech in an effort to confront congressional intransigence. The “Big Ugly” Preparation – President Trump has announced Anthony Scaramucci as the new White House Communications Director. Mrs. Sarah Huckabee Sanders is also announced as the permanent White House Press Secretary. Former Press Secretary Sean Spicer is released from his duties; Spicer will finish out August and then exit the White House.
Video from today’s Press Briefing follows:
Short interview with Office of Management and Budget (OMB) Director Mick Mulvaney discussing ObamaCare and the potential for Tax Reform. Unfortunately, one of the key budgetary issues with the failure of ObamaCare reform is the downstream effect on any middle-class tax reform.
Within ObamaCare’s current -mostly political- structure, the expansive growth of Medicaid means tax-paying workers will pay more for insurance premiums and will also be held captive to the need for additional revenue to pay for medicaid; a double whammy.
