NEW YORK – Anti-terror cops are still chauffeuring around New York City bureaucrats, even on the heels of terror attacks in France.
The offices of Public Advocate Letitia James and City Council Speaker Melissa Mark-Viverito could not come up with a defense for the ongoing practice, first exposed by The Post two months ago, and passed the buck to the NYPD. Comptroller Scott Stringer’s office said he was doing what the NYPD recommended.
Each of the relatively unknown politicians has an eight-person security detail pulled from the elite NYPD Intelligence Division whose members usually spend their time looking for criminal activity and potential terrorists. The Post reported that the detail of drivers is made up of six detectives, one sergeant and one lieutenant — and two of them are on duty at a time. (more…)
It appears the New York Police are taking “safety first” seriously.
NEW YORK – It’s not a slowdown — it’s a virtual work stoppage.
NYPD traffic tickets and summonses for minor offenses have dropped off by a staggering 94 percent following the execution of two cops — as officers feel betrayed by the mayor and fear for their safety, The Post has learned.
The dramatic drop comes as Police Commissioner Bill Bratton and Mayor Bill de Blasio plan to hold an emergency summit on Tuesday with the heads of the five police unions to try to close the widening rift between cops and the administration.
The unprecedented meeting is being held at the new Police Academy in Queens at 2 p.m., sources said.
Angry union leaders have ordered drastic measures for their members since the Dec. 20 assassination of two NYPD cops in a patrol car, including that two units respond to every call. (more…)
Typical progressive. When faced with blistering criticism -of his own creation- from the New York Police Department, team De Blasio works feverishly to get people to stand up attack the police and defend him publicly.
NEW YORK CITY – While Mayor Bill de Blasio was personally coaxing the city’s police union presidents to meet with him, his top aides were on the phones with lawmakers urging them to blast PBA President Patrick Lynch and other officers for turning their backs on the mayor following the assassinations of two of New York’s Finest, DNAinfo New York has learned.
As late as Monday afternoon — the same time de Blasio was speaking with police union leaders to set up Tuesday’s détente to possibly mend their fractured relationship — the mayor’s government affairs honchos were privately cold-calling the city’s Democratic delegation of city and state elected officials, asking them to publicly criticize Lynch and those officers who dissed the mayor. Ismaaiyl Abdullah Brinsley was the 28 year old radical supporter of the FTP movement who assassinated two New York Police officers. Bassem Masri is a Palestinian antagonist and principal member of the Ferguson “F*ck the Police (FTP) movement – currently in New York. Jessica Lane Chambers was a 19-year-old girl murdered in Courtland Mississippi.

In a bizarre twist to a complex dynamic they could well be connected.
♦ One of the overlooked aspects of Ismaaiyl Brinsley the New York police murderer was what was found in his pockets after he killed himself on a New York subway platform following the cold blooded murder of the officers. He was carrying dozens of $100 bills.
How does an unemployed essentially homeless, “transient” character like Brinsley gain such significant amounts of cash. “Where did he get his money, who does he hang out with? [he] doesn’t seem to have been employed,” Police Commishioner Bill Bratton asked curiously when appearing on CBS’s show This Morning.
♦ Similarly Bassem Masri, a professional agitator from the Saint Louis area, has no job – but can spend months leading angry, often extremely vulgar, tirades against various Police Departments; and still have money to fly, travel, pay his expenses, eat, etc. It was not long ago when Masri put $15,000 cash up for his own bond in Saint Louis -after his arrest for spitting on a police officer- and hired a private attorney.
Where does he get his money?
When we first began looking into the Jessica Chambers murder, something didn’t seem right. Within 72 hours it was brutally obvious something was very odd about Courtland Mississippi early December. (more…)
NEW YORK (AP) – Thousands of uniformed police officers from New York City and around the country gathered Friday at the solemn, eight-hour wake of a city policeman who was killed along with his partner in a brazen daytime shooting a week ago.
Mayor Bill de Blasio, who had been criticized by the police union for his handling of protests critical of officers, briefly attended Officer Rafael Ramos’ viewing at the Christ Tabernacle Church in Queens, where Ramos was brought in a flag-draped casket and viewed in full dress uniform.
“Dad, I’m forever grateful of the sacrifices you made to provide for me and Jaden,” Ramos’ son, Justin, said during the wake, referring to his younger brother, as officers gathered in the street watched on giant television screens.
Ramos’ funeral is scheduled for Saturday. Vice President Joseph Biden and Mayor de Blasio have said they’ll attend. The funeral for Ramos’ partner, Officer Wenjian Liu, hasn’t yet been announced. (more…)

NEW YORK — New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio called Monday for a temporary halt to protests over police conduct as he faced a widening rift with a force preparing Christmastime burials for two of its own and decrying the demonstrations as a factor in the officers’ cold-blooded executions.

“I think it’s important that, regardless of people’s viewpoints, that everyone step back,” de Blasio said in a speech Monday at the Police Athletic League. “I think it’s a time for everyone to put aside political debates, put aside protests, put aside all of the things that we will talk about in all due time.” (more…)
In light of Saturday’s brutal murders of two NYPD officers, former NYC Mayor Rudy Giuliani blasted President Barack Obama for inciting “propaganda” that cause people to “hate the police.”
“We’ve had four months of propaganda, starting with the president, that everybody should hate the police,” Giuliani said on Fox & Friends Sunday morning. “The protests are being embraced, the protests are being encouraged. The protests, even the ones that don’t lead to violence, a lot of them lead to violence, all of them lead to a conclusion: The police are bad, the police are racist. That is completely wrong.” (more…)
The grievance playbook is consistently predictable. Al Sharpton appears at a press conference this morning and proclaims himself as the victim in the assassination murders of two New York police officers. The professionally Black Grievance Industry (BGI) and the professionally Islamist Grievance Industry (CAIR) use the exact same script when the consequences of their own actions confront them; they spin to become the victim….
(New York) It’s all about him.
The Rev. Al Sharpton claimed Sunday that he’s received death threats in the wake of execution-style murders of two NYPD officers in Brooklyn.
Sharpton, appearing alongside the wife and mother of Eric Garner, played a voicemail for reporters purportedly of a racist threat made against him.

“Hey n—-r, stop killing innocent people, I’m going to get you!” according to the barely audible recording.
The voice mail also included three f-bombs that went over live television in New York.
Sharpton also took umbrage with police union leaders who have blamed Mayor de Blasio for allegedly inciting violence against cops. (more…)
