(VIA USA TODAY) More bad news for the Clintons. With Hillary’s presidential campaign slipping in the polls against Sen. Bernie Sanders and facing a potential fresh challenge from Vice President Joe Biden, six giants of the corporate world are bailing out on the Clinton Global Initiative.
On Sept. 26, CGI, a branch of the Clinton Foundation, convenes its 11th annual meeting with a star-studded cast. Bill and Chelsea Clinton will be joined by Ashley Judd, Charlize Theron, Edward Norton, Ted Danson, Tina Brown, Neil deGrasse Tyson, Sir Richard Branson, Bill Gates and George Soros. What will be missing is more than a million dollars from a who’s who of corporate behemoths that sponsored the meeting last year. WASHINGTON (AP) — New York hedge fund billionaire George Soros and Hollywood director Steven Spielberg are among the biggest donors to a super PAC backing Democrat Hillary Rodham Clinton’s presidential run, according to a super PAC official who spoke on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to discuss fundraising.

In all, the super PAC Priorities USA Action will report having raised $15.6 million in the past three months when it files its fundraising information this month with the Federal Election Commission. Super PACs can take donations of unlimited size. The biggest gift was worth $2 million and came from media mogul Haim Saban, owner of the Spanish-language Univision network.

Donors include film producer Jeffrey Katzenberg, investor Donald Sussman, Boston political activist Barbara Lee and the Plumbers and Pipefitters union. Actress Katie McGrath and her husband, producer J.J. Abrams, also contributed. (more…)

NBC parted ways with Donald Trump today.  Here’s why: 

NEW YORK (AP) — A petition asking NBC to fire Donald Trump has collected more than 200,000 signatures.

Posted on the Change.org website, the petition calls out NBC of choosing business over “ethics, principles and values” in the wake of Trump’s recent statements when declaring his candidacy for president. Among his remarks, the GOP hopeful portrayed immigrants from Mexico as “bringing drugs, they’re bringing crime, they’re rapists, and some, I assume, are good people.”

Last week, Univision, the nation’s largest Spanish-language network, said it wouldn’t air the Miss USA and Miss Universe pageants, which are co-owned by Trump, and will cut all future business ties with him. (more…)

(Via The Blaze) Former Hewlett-Packard CEO Carly Fiorina said Monday that California’s water crisis is the result of “liberal environmentalists” who are “willing to sacrifice other people’s lives and livelihoods at the altar of their ideology.”

“With different policies over the last 20 years, all of this could be avoided,” Fiorina said on Glenn Beck’s radio program. “Despite the fact that California has suffered from droughts for millennia, liberal environmentalists have prevented the building of a single new reservoir or a single new water conveyance system over decades during a period in which California’s population has doubled.”

Fiorina said that as a result, 70 percent of California’s rainfall “washes out to sea” year after year.

“How is it possible that we don’t hear that story on the news at all?” Beck demanded. (more…)

Taraji P. Henson is an actress who appears on a show called “Empire”. She tried to capitalize on the Martese Johnson narrative , “F**kThePolice”, through the use of her son’s interaction with police in California.

Earlier last week she claimed in a media interview with Uptown Magazine her son was racially profiled by police and abused.

Ms. Henson stated her son was not safe at any college that was not black and she would be sending him to Howard University because it wasn’t safe for a young black man around non-black college campus police officers.

…..“My child has been racially profiled. He was in Glendale, California and did exactly everything the cops told him to do, including letting them illegally search his car. It was bogus because they didn’t give him the ticket for what he was pulled over for.” […] “I’m not paying $50K so I can’t sleep at night wondering is this the night my son is getting racially profiled on campus.”  (link)

The SNL “skit” is a takeoff on a mainstream commercial for Toyota Camry. Named “My Bold Dad” the Toyota commercial features a father driving his daughter to the airport so she can join the U.S. Army.

The NBC/SNL parody takes a knock at the military by showcasing an actress who “didn’t graduate High School” as a the NBC view of military enrollees. However, it then goes a step further with the ISIS Jihadist angle.

More concerning than the ridiculous SNL delivery is the thought that more than one person in NBC had to think this was actually a good idea, and approve it.

Sometimes humor can walk a precarious edge, and we are not even remotely the humor police.  In this case, however, the humor is lost – it’s just not funny.  Apparently NBC doesn’t actually recognize that ISIS is holding hostages, real people, including Americans’…. and brutally, currently, visibly, killing them.

Because it’s oh so enlightening and progressive to wax yearningly about the plight of the oppressed and downtrodden, the Huffington Post pontificates the dream of erasing the oppressive White Man from the Oscar’s…

(Via HuffPo) This year marks the whitest Oscars since 1998, with all 20 acting nominations given to white folks. Equally awesome: Zero female directors, screenwriters, or cinematographers were nominated, and according to Women’s Media Center, among the 184 nominees across 19 non-acting categories, only 35 are women.

And so the Academy Award goes to… white dudes. This stark imbalance in both racial and gender diversity in Hollywood is manifested visually on the posters that represent the biggest films of the year. More often than not, white men are selected as the representatives for the movies they star in, even when they have equally signifigant female costars. (read more)
