If you want to use a walk-off homer to silence the insufferable leftists on the issue of Gay Rights vs. Religious freedom simply ask the following question of the Anderson Coopers and watch them squirm:

If the owner/operator of a “Quick Print” media printing shop is Muslim, and I walk in there with a template image depicting the Prophet Mohammed standing in feces, should the print shop be required or forced to print my bumper stickers or T-shirts ?

Would the progs demand the shop owner be compliant ?  {{{crickets}}}

My liberty driven answer would be “yes”, the shop operator should be allowed to refuse the request based on his/her central tenet of faith.    But, well beyond that easy example my own perspective on freedom and liberty extends to:  Any individual should be free to engage in commerce – or not, contact – or not, relationship – or not, employment – or not, service – or not, for any reason they desire without needing justification.

I respect all people and views, it doesn’t mean I have to agree with them or desire the company of those who afford them.   Respect also means – leave me the hell alone, and don’t force me into relationships that are not determined by my own individual values.

Media liberals, being extremely overrepresented in the current media, preposterously but predictably screeched like scalded cats that the rights of homosexuals are violated if private citizens are not compelled by the government to enter into relations with them that violate their consciences. Their attempt to equate this with civil rights struggles of the past is an insult that should enrage blacks.

Senate Bill 1062 was explicitly inspired by an outrageous case from neighboring New Mexico, where a Christian photographer was sued for refusing to photograph a ceremony that according to her Christian beliefs was a blasphemous travesty. (more…)

North Carolina – An undocumented student at the University of North Carolina – Chapel Hill who became a national cause célèbre in recent weeks as a candidate for student body president lost his election bid Tuesday in a landslide defeat.

UNC junior Emilio Vicente, a public policy major who was thrust into the spotlight after publicly acknowledging that he is not a U.S. citizen, lost his bid to represent the students of the public research university by a vote of 4,760 to 2,681, or 62.9 percent to 35.47 percent.

Prior to Tuesday’s election, Vicente – who describes himself as a “feminist” – had become the darling of left-leaning celebrities, earning praise and endorsements from the likes of Al Jazeera and actress Eva Longoria, for example. (more…)

NEW YORK – Two radio DJs in Long Island who caused an uproar last week by posting the homophobic RSVP to a birthday party for a ‘little girl with two gay dads’ admitted on Saturday that the whole thing was a hoax.

K-98.3 DJs Steve Harper and Leeana Karlson on Wednesday posted on their show’s Facebook page a heartbreaking note written on an invitation to a ‘tie dye party’ for a girl named ‘Sophia’s’ seventh birthday.

The DJs tricked people into believing that Sophia had two gay dads, and the note – supposedly written by the mother of a friend of Sophia’s, who they called ‘Tommy’ – stated ‘Tommy will NOT attend. I do not believe in what you do and will not subject my innocent son to your lifestyle. I’m sorry Sophia has to grow up this way.’ (more…)

Two weeks ago Musab Masmari was arrested for an arson attack on a gay bar in Seattle.   Shortly it was discovered that Masmari was in fact an official State Department Cultural Ambassador from Benghazi Libya.

Now a recent report from Seattle shows he fully intended to exterminate the patrons of the nightclub due to his extreme hatred toward homosexuals.

Seattle WASHINGTON – KIRO 7 has uncovered explosive new details in the case of the Capitol Hill arson at a popular gay nightclub.  Suspect Musab Masmari’s motive may have stemmed from his “distaste for homosexual people.”

Masmari is charged with arson for allegedly setting the fire at Neighbours nightclub shortly after midnight on New Year’s Day.

According to investigative documents filed in King County Superior Court, the 30-year old Masmari told a friend “that homosexuals should be exterminated.”  That friend, a member of the local Muslim community, went straight to the FBI because he believed Masmari may have also been planning a terrorist attack. That friend became a confidential informant.

According to the documents, Masmari first met the informant at Fatima’s Cafe near the Masjid at Taqwa Mosque on Seattle’s East Union Street, shortly after the fire at Neighbours. (more…)

The transparency of the progressive movement is obvious.   In the 2012 election cycle we were introduced to Sandra Fluke and her demands of tax-payer funded contraception; this evolved into the ‘War On Women’ faux-outrage campaign.

In this 2014 election cycle the angst needs additional victimization check boxes.  Ergo you are being introduced to a “black” (check box one for race/victimization),  “gay” (check box two for sexual orientation/victimization), “collegiate football player” (check box three for youth vote/victimization), Michael Sam, who announces his sexual orientation as a measure of his fluke-like worthiness to the progressive left.

Whether Michael Sam is a good football player, a man of strong moral fiber, or an intellectual powerhouse, is irrelevant to the cause.

If he does not get drafted into the NFL the narrative will be because he’s gay and the NFL is homophobic – A successful victim, very useful.

If he does get drafted into the NFL it will be because the world is changing and *despite his victimization* he has succeeded.   A successful victim, very useful.

One only needs to look at how the progressive left is scripting the introduction to know that YOU WILL SEE THIS NAME EVERY DAY FOR THE REST OF THE YEAR.

SEATTLE WA – Seattle police arrested Musab Mohamed Masmari this morning in association with the New Year’s Eve arson at Neighbours nightclub, says Detective Mark Jamieson.

The Seattle Police Department’s Arson/Bomb Squad had been working with a joint terrorism task force since the incident occurred in the early minutes of January 1, when someone poured gasoline down a flight of stairs in the packed gay bar and lit it ablaze. All 750 patrons escaped without injury.

SPD posted photos of a person of interest in the case on January 13, now believed to be Masmari.

Police say that Masmari, 30, was apprehended today outside of Seattle while he was traveling to Sea-Tac Airport. Detectives then interviewed Masmari and booked him into King County Jail this afternoon as a suspect in the arson investigation. The soonest Masmari would make a court appearance is Monday, according to Jamieson, who says police would “like to thank the public for their tips.” (continue reading)

This PJ Media story is horrifying on so many levels – to say the least.

( Via PJ Media ) A former high-ranking San Francisco government employee convicted of felony possession of child pornography will continue to receive his government pension because, according to city regulations, evidence of “moral turpitude” is required to revoke a pension yet viewing violent kiddie porn does not qualify as moral turpitude.

As reported here in the Tatler, Larry Brinkin, a prominent San Francisco Human Rights Commissioner and nationally known gay rights advocate, was arrested in 2012 for possessing and possibly distributing videos and images of babies being raped by adult men.

Because of Brinkin’s “iconic” stature in the community as the person who pioneered “domestic partnership” laws nationwide, supporters at the time accused the police of framing him with false charges. But the evidence was so overwhelming that, after 18 months of legal wrangling, on Tuesday, January 21, Brinkin pled guilty to felony possession of child pornography, with various other more serious charges dropped as part of the plea bargain. He will serve just six months in jail and thereafter have to register as a sex offender.

But the scandal didn’t end there. A recent law defining which type of actions count as “moral turpitude” required to nullify municipal pension benefits does not include sex crimes involving children, and only refers to financial crimes: (more…)
