This Michael Sam situation is wrong on so many levels….   Apparently now it is disclosed the deal with OWN TV was planned long before the NFL draft and kept secret so that it did not impact his draft potential.

This level of manipulation and deceit is exactly why people like me, who ordinarily don’t give a hoot about sexual orientation issues, find ourselves with horrible opinions of the pressuring, scheming, conniving and manipulation within the gay rights movement.  This is not how you gain support – it’s the EXACT opposite.  A good analysis in that regard is HERE (Hat Tip Tex)

(Via Sports Illustrated)  The Oprah Winfrey Network is set to begin production on a documentary series surrounding Michael Sam, a plan that Sam and his representatives knew about before the draft. The problem? The latter group didn’t disclose that fact to the St. Louis Rams or other teams.

Per ESPN’s Ed Werder, Sam and Co. didn’t disclose their OWN documentary plans to teams ahead of the draft out of fear that he “might not be picked.” St. Louis scooped up Sam at pick No. 249 overall. (more…)

Well I guess that answers my previous question about whether Mr. Sam wanted to be an NFL football player or something else.  

Apparently something else.

Why else would you selfishly plan to put your teammates through the distraction of a media crew following you around training camp, unless your real goal was something other than being an exceptional athlete, developing team cohesion and making the cut.

I suspected all along since Sam originally and publicly “came out”.    I mean, no-one was asking about his sexual orientation so initially it never made sense he would hold a presser to proclaim it to the world.    The signals were there in that first well advertised press announcement.   Something other than football was being planned, organized, coordinated and strategized.

TIME MAGAZINE – Oprah Winfrey’s OWN cable network announced Wednesday it’s creating a docuseries that will follow Michael Sam, the first openly gay man drafted to the National Football League, as he starts his career with the St. Louis Rams. (more…)

The Emphasis Is On The Wrong Syllable – Michael Sam being selected at all (in the 7th round of the NFL Draft – 2nd to last pick) is just another hurdle for football fans.

Why?  Arguably, without the gay orientation he would not have been drafted.

His NFL combine results were no better than average and he’s slow on ‘turning the corner speed’.  Which, if he was not an outside pass rushing linebacker, would not be so much an issue; except  it is.

Luckily, for his lack of NFL football skill, Michael Sam is also gay.   Apparently it’s important to a lot of people that a gay man play in the NFL.  (more…)

Clay Aiken’s opponent in the Democratic primary for North Carolina’s Second Congressional District seat, Keith Crisco, died today, according to the company he owned, Asheboro Elastics Corporation.

The 71-year-old textile entrepreneur and former state commerce secretary died at his home around 1:30 p.m., the company said. He had fallen, a spokesperson for the company told ABC News, but no other information was immediately available.

In a statement, Aiken said he was “stunned and deeply saddened by Keith Crisco’s death” adding he was “suspending all campaign activities as we pray for his family and friends.” (read more)

SAN FRANCISCO, CA, May 6, 2014 – A woman who claimed to be the victim of an anti-gay “hate crime” in 2004 has admitted she faked the incident because she had not done her homework.

Mary (no last name was given in the interview), who in 2004 caused a tumult in her California town when bigoted remarks appeared on her locker, told Buzzfeed’s Sandra Allen that she faked it all because “I hadn’t done” homework assigned at least a week earlier. “None of it. Hadn’t read anything, hadn’t done the notes. I don’t remember what the assignment was, but it was something that we had a week or two to do and I hadn’t done any of it.”

“So I broke into the locker room and I graffitied my locker,” she said.

According to Mary, “The first or second period of the day, they called me out of the office. They said, ‘You can go home if you want to.’ I was like, Sweet. I went home and did my homework.”

Things progressed. At one point, Mary claimed she had been hit with an egg in the face. Two local boys were arrested at gunpoint as possible suspects, and a vigil with at least 250 people was held to stand with her.  {the above picture is from that vigil}

The radical, fanatical and  far-left gay movement is a group that represents far less than 2-3% of the entire U.S. population who self identify as gay.   Yet they sure demand a lot of attention from an overrepresentation in the media. 

PORTLAND — A new Westmoreland grocery isn’t even open yet and already its owner has created a controversy with statements she made online. But the owner told KGW Thursday she wants to make amends.
In about one week Chauncy Childs plans to open her natural grocer on Southeast Milwaukie Avenue. But after a series of postings she made on her Facebook page, she now finds herself at the often dangerous intersection where social media and gay rights meet.
The Moreland Farmer’s Pantry will offer fresh produce, raw milk and foods that are free of genetic engineering.
Westmoreland resident Sean O’Riordan was looking forward to the store opening. But his neighbors started expressing concern to him.

One of the worst aspects to this story, and there are many, is that two of the children were adopted by the domestic partners, including the 8 year old found chained to the floor.  I often wonder if some unstable people adopt/foster children in order to gain state/federal financial benefits…..  horrible story.

CALIFORNIA – Three starving children — including one who was chained to the floor to prevent her from getting food — were found last month in the squalid home of a Northern California couple, authorities said.
All three — two boys and a girl — were taken into protective custody, and one was hospitalized, Monterey County Sheriff Scott Miller said Friday.
Authorities discovered them in the Salinas, Calif., home on March 14 after two of the young people missed appointments, according to several published reports.
“It was a particularly heinous case,” Miller told the Monterey Herald. The children had “hardly eaten for months.”
The boys are 3 and 5 years old, and the girl is 8, authorities said, and they all exhibited bruises and signs of other physical as well as emotional abuse. (more…)

SAN FRANCISCO –  A transgender woman in Northern California has sued the company behind the popular CrossFit workouts for refusing to let her compete in the female division of its annual fitness competitions.

The lawsuit brought Thursday by Chloie Jonsson, 34, accuses CrossFit Inc. of violating her rights under a California law that prohibits discrimination on the basis of gender identity.
Jonsson’s complaint says she was born male but has been living as a woman since she was a teenager and underwent sex reassignment surgery eight years ago. The surgery, coupled with the female hormones she takes, satisfied the state’s requirements for her to be recognized as female on her birth certificate and other official documents. (more…)
