President Trump and Prime Minister Shinzo Abe Joint Press Conference – 12:30am (Livestream)…

Following two days of fellowship and diplomacy, President Trump and Prime Minister Shinzo Abe will be holding a joint press conference at the Akasaka Palace in Tokyo, Japan.
Later tonight President Trump and First Lady Melania Trump will join Prime Minister Abe and Mrs. Akie Abe as guests of honor during a state banquet at the Akasaka Palace.
The press conference is expected to start around 2:30pm (local) / 12:30am (U.S. Eastern).

Powerful and Moving – President Trump Meets With Japanese Family Victims of North Korean Abductions…

During a very powerful and solemn part of President and First Lady Trump’s visit to Japan, Mr. and Mrs. Trump stand side-by-side with the families of people abducted by North Korean regime.  In a moving statement President Trump vows to do his earnest best to work with Prime Minister Shinzo Abe and to help get them back.
President Trump and First Lady Melania, together with Prime Minister Abe and Mrs Abe stand in front row of two rows of victims.  A total of 16 family members of abductees and one former abductee.   No U.S. President has ever drawn attention to this issue. Both leaders delivered short remarks:

President Trump and First Lady Melania Dine With PM Shinzo Abe and Mrs. Akie Abe…

President Trump and First Lady Melania Trump arrived at Ginza Ukatei for dinner at 7:33pm (local) 5:33am (eastern), with good friends PM Shinzo Abe and Mrs. Akie Abe.
The dinner included Hokkaido scallop & white truffle salad, sauteed shizuokas ise ebi bisque and Tajima beef steak (obviously w/ ketchup), according to a Japanese official. At 7:38pm (local) the couples appeared in front of reporters at the restaurant, where President Trump delivered brief remarks:

[Transcript] “Hello everybody. Thank you very much for being here. Were in the midst of having very major discussions on many subjects, including North Korea and trade and were doing very well. Doing very well. Our relationship is really extraordinary. We like each other and our countries like each other. And I dont think weve ever been closer to Japan than we are right now. Its a great honor, its a great honor. Well have dinner tonight. I think well insult everybody (smiling) by continuing to talk about trade. But the time is a little bit limited and then tomorrow is a very busy day.

President Trump and First Lady Melania Trump Arrive in Hawaii…

President Trump and First Lady Melania Trump Arrive in Hawaii on the first stop of their East-bound 10 day trip to Asia.   Upon arrival President Trump will attend an extensive briefing at Pacific Command HQ and then a visit to Pearl Harbor.
The President and First Lady were greeted with leis by Hawaii Gov. David Ige and his wife, Dawn Ige along with US Navy Admiral Harry Harris, commander of the US Pacific Command, his wife, Bruni Bradley; and Mikayla Webb, the daughter of Adm. Harriss aid.
President Trump was given a brightly colored orange and yellow lei decorated with Maile & Ilima flowers, a combination traditionally presented to royalty on the island. The first couple spent about 15 minutes shaking hands with a group of greeters, a mix of troops and civilians at the airport:

First Lady Melania Trump Donates Inaugural Ball Gown To Smithsonian (Video)…

First Lady Melania Trump donated her inaugural ball gown to the First Ladies’ Collection at the Smithsonian Institution. The first lady handed over the vanilla silk, off-the-shoulder gown during a ceremony Friday in Washington DC.

(Via Daily Mail) ‘The president, Barron and I love living here and we are so honored to represent this country,’ the first lady told a crowd gathered in Flag Hall at the Smithsonian National Museum of American History, the museum where her inaugural ball gown will now live.

In her speech, which lasted under four minutes, the first lady admitted procuring a ball gown had slipped her mind, so she made ‘poor Hervé,’ designer Hervé Pierre, work on a tight two-week deadline to craft the ‘gorgeous couture piece.’

First-Lady Melania Trump Reduces Payroll 60 Percent – Mrs. Trump 4 Aides VS Mrs. Obama 16 Aides…

When the White House personnel report was released in June, Forbes reported 110 fewer employees under President Trump than President Obama; a projected four-year savings would be more than $22 million.
First-Lady Melania Trump is following a similar path with personnel reductions saving millions.
According to a report from Fox News using payroll data, First-Lady Melania Trump employs four assistants for a total payroll of $486,700 per year.
Michelle Obama employed 16 to 24 people for a total annual payroll of $1,240,000+ per year.  Mrs Trump has reduced the costs of First-Lady by over 60%.

WASHINGTON – Melania Trump is embracing a more active and public schedule as first lady – but she still runs one of the leanest East Wing operations in recent history.

According to a Fox News analysis of White House personnel reports, Melania Trump has significantly reduced the number of aides on the first lady’s office payroll in comparison to her predecessor, Michelle Obama.

First Lady Melania Trump Will Visit West Virginia Pediatric Drug Treatment Center…

First Lady Melania Trump held her first independent policy roundtable last month at the White House on the topic of opioid and drug addiction. One of the professionals in attendance was Rebecca Crowder, the executive director of Lily’s Place, a drug treatment center for babies and children.

(Via CNN) First lady Melania Trump will embark on a visit Tuesday morning to Huntington, West Virginia, with the specific purpose of visiting Lily’s Place, an infant recovery center that helps families dealing with addiction.
It will be the first lady’s first visit to a drug treatment center since her husband took office. Lily’s Place offers medical care to infants born with Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome, which occurs when newborns have been exposed to addictive substances during a mother’s pregnancy. The center also offers support, education, and counseling services to families and caregivers, per its website.
