It’s challenging, if not impossible, to win the debate of ideas when one side of the issue uses the other side’s years of fear and institutional political correctness against them.

Al Sharpton demands that all must accept the notions of his Politically Correct world view as truth, or else! It is an aggressive, in-your-face, finger pointing and intellectually dishonest avoidance principle.

The Associated Press, The New York Times, Reuters, CNN, FOX, NBC, The Huffington Post and more, are refusing the “off record” reach out by Eric Holder to justify his personal approval of  targeting the media by the Dept. Of Justice.  He wants a meeting to explain his secret investigation(s) of the media, but he only wants to conduct the meeting “off the record”, in secret, away from public scrutiny.

I guess there’s only so much water the Administration’s lapdogs can actually carry.  Who knew?

Washington (CNN) – Attorney General Eric Holder’s plans to sit down with media representatives to discuss guidelines for handling investigations into leaks to the news media have run into trouble.

The Associated Press issued a statement Wednesday objecting to plans for the meetings to be off the record. “If it is not on the record, AP will not attend and instead will offer our views on how the regulations should be updated in an open letter,” said Erin Madigan White, the AP’s media relations manager.

The New York Times is taking the same position. “It isn’t appropriate for us to attend an off-the-record meeting with the attorney general,” executive editor Jill Abramson said in a statement. (more…)

Trayvon was 17, smoked dope, sold drugs, drank “lean” drug cocktail with frequency, burglarized homes, video’s himself and peeps beating homeless guy, bought sold guns, participated in organized MMA street fights, kicked out of school three times, kicked out of his Mom’s house, no parental supervision, and put on bus – sent to Sanford FL with a rolled up baggie of marijuana stuffed between his butt cheeks.

Now that he’s been shot and killed, his family attorney, Benjamin Crump, says shooter trial is “the civil rights case of the century” – while playing the “race-card” 24/7……

WASHINGTON DC – Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) isn’t worried about rounding up 60 votes for legislation to overhaul the nation’s immigration system, saying Tuesday in an interview with a Nevada television program that crossing the crucial threshold should be “pretty easy.”

“I talked about this to a number of my senators today…” Reid said, as quoted by the Las Vegas Sun. “I think we have 60 votes. Remember, we start out at 55 Democrats. I think the most I’ll lose is two or three. Let’s say I wind up with 52 Democrats. I only need eight Republicans, and I already have four, so that should be pretty easy.”  (continue reading)

The Hampton Coliseum Spring Carnival was cancelled a week early due to a gang related shooting which resulted in the death of Ralphael Davis Jr.  In addition to the deceased, four other teenagers were shot.  One remains in critical condition.

A 15-year-old male and 17-year-old male were arrested and each charged with one count of murder, four counts of maiming and five counts of using a firearm in the commission of a felony, according to Hampton Police.  (link)

The local progessive-sympathetic Virginia Pilot newspaper, which refused to fully report on the threats and black mob violence perpetrated in the name of Trayvon Martin against two of its own reporters in Norfolk, Virginia in 2012 again doubles down on living the lie by refusing to fully and honestly report on the events that led to the early cancellation of the carnival. To care about the children and condemn them to intellectual mutilation? To denounce guns and hire armed bodyguards? To support the troops and side with their murderers? To demand love and be full of hate?

The Book of Progressive Chauvinism – There is a reason why snobby elites on the Upper West Side of Manhattan generously donate to leftist causes and support leftist politicians. Snobs and radicals often act in accord because they are not opposites, as some believe, but rather spiritual cousins – equally despising “the bourgeois,” sharing a low view of humanity as herd animals, and sorting people not on their individual merits but by color, income, occupation, ethnicity, gender, and any other characteristic except the content of their minds.

Elitists share the presumption that people of the world cannot think for themselves and have no room in their souls for individual ambitions and achievements outside of what the government is giving them. Short of stating it explicitly, elitism implies that “the masses” are mindless, spiritless creatures without free will, always in need of the largesse of the state, and for their own good the state ought to nationalize the country’s resources in order to feed its subjects. Et tu Bobte’ ….. You know things are seriously headed in the wrong direction for the Modern Liberal Establishment when even CBS’s Bob Schieffer stands aghast:

Schieffer probably runs up there in the stratospheric water-carrying media close to the same level of Mr. Tingles (Chris Matthews). So when you see propagandist sympathizers like him begin to doubt Dear Leader, you know trouble exists.

This is really an epic display of prog-logic. I’m generally neutral on Juan Williams because he’s a centrist about 25% of the time. But sometimes his liberalism needle just gets fundamentally stuck-on-stupid. This is one of those times.

Watch how Williams spins the framework of Attorney Eric Holder approving and authorizing the direct Rosen subpoena. The non-judicially reviewed subpoena targeted all of Fox news reporter, James Rosen’s business phone, personal phone, email, and phone records of his entire geographic family including his parents, under the auspices of Rosen being an unindicted co-conspirator to criminal activity; The charge: Domestic Terrorism.

Yet here’s Juan Williams on one hand saying the charges are ridiculous – and obviously done to target a journalist under the most horrible of intentions – yet on the other hand saying it’s really not Eric Holder’s issue, and Holder can/should investigate himself.

*Note* Holder approved of the filing by the Asst Attorney General;  He approved of the charge, the content, and the scope of the investigation.   Holder signed off on the affidavit authorizing it.    Hello?….. Holder already approved the aspects Williams is saying Holder should investigate….

I was wondering when someone was going to pick up on this aspect of President Obama’s speech at National Defense University last Thursday.    POTUS was calling for “increased oversight” over drone use.   HIS drone use.

Glad to see the words and intent of the President did not escape at least one reporter, Brit Hume:

Fox News senior political analyst Brit Hume thinks it is very peculiar for President Barack Obama to call for executive power to be scaled back.

Hume noted on Fox News Sunday that Obama had “made generous use of” drone strikes.

“There’s an odd quality to this whole thing, and it is almost like he’s saying, with regard to the drone policy, ‘We need something to stop me before I kill again,’” he explained. “We can see that in his support on an unrelated matter on the shield law for journalists. He’s carried out these oversteps in pursuing journalists who are doing their job, and now he says ‘we need a shield law,’ as if to say we need a law to protect them from us.”
