NEW YORK – Mayor Bill de Blasio vowed to act quickly to abolish horse-drawn carriages in the city.

“We are going to get rid of the horse carriages. Period,” de Blasio said in response to a question at his press conference announcing his schools chancellor pick Monday.
“It’s over,” he said.
De Blasio said he would work with existing drivers to set them up with alternative vehicles to ferry tourists around Central Park. (more…)
From the Archdiocese of Washington tonight:
The Archdiocese of Washington is pleased that today the U.S. District Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia issued an injunction that prevents the Archdiocese and its affiliates from having to choose between paying crippling fines or facilitating the provision of abortion-inducing drugs, sterilizations, and contraceptives to their employees. The order prohibits the government from enforcing the HHS mandate’s objectionable requirements against the Archdiocese and its co-appellants pending further order from the court. (link)
WASHINGTON (AP) — Catholic organizations made a last-minute effort Tuesday to get the Supreme Court to block portions of President Obama’s health care law that will force them to provide health insurance for students and employees that includes birth control.
Several organizations, including the Roman Catholic Archbishop of Washington, the Catholic Diocese of Nashville, Catholic University and the Michigan Catholic Conference, asked justices to block the law until their arguments are heard. Parts of the Affordable Care Act, also known as Obamacare, go into effect on Wednesday. (more…)
According to CNN’s Mark Lamont Hill, Mitt Romney was “exploiting” his family members by having a family picture taken for Christmas – Therefore it is appropriate for MSNBC to mock the black baby, merely “exploiting” the race of the family being “exploited”…. or something.
At Least someone realized the broadcast was mocking !
I am sorry. Without reservation or qualification. I apologize to the Romney family. #MHPapology

(CBS New York) […] Tony Herbert, an activist with the National Action Network, told WCBS 880 that the teens’ actions are a setback for civil rights.
“These young people thought it enough to take it upon themselves to go into a place of business and act in such a demonic way, if you want to call it that,” he said. “What they did was deplorable, was disrespectful not only to the shoppers that were there as well as the shop owners, but very disrespectful to the civil rights leaders who actually fought for them to have the right to be able to go into a store and not be profiled.” (more…)
Before you read the article outlining the latest U.S. Administration perspective on the Russian Islamist Bombings in Volgograd it’s good to remind yourself what Obama calls congress. The U.S. Congress has been called “terrorists”, “extremists”, and “obstructionists who hold guns to the heads of American People”.
Meanwhile Fort Hood is “workplace violence”, the Boston Marathon bombing was just a disenfranchised domestic dispute, and U.S. engagement in Libya was us “sharing unsolicited instant demolition devices”.

(Via PJ Media) The Obama administration offered to work on Sochi Olympics security issues with Russia after a pair of bombings in Volgograd killed at least 31 people.
President Vladimir Putin gave instructions to the National Anti-Terrorism Committee “to step up security measures across all of Russia and specifically in Volgograd region,” the Kremlin said Monday. “The president will receive daily reports from the NAC on the measures being taken along with regular situation reports.” […] (more…)

One odd incident might lend a person to ignore completely. Like a flu that results in a slip n fall, which results in a concussion, which results in a “blood clot”…. all happening just before you are scheduled to testify before a congressional committee on Benghazi that might just contain questions that would destroy your carefully controlled career.
[…] Sources close to the congressional investigation who have been briefed on what Thompson will testify tell Fox News the veteran counterterrorism official concluded on Sept. 11 that Clinton and Kennedy tried to cut the counterterrorism bureau out of the loop as they and other Obama administration officials weighed how to respond to — and characterize — the Benghazi attacks. Two mysterious incidents, meh, maybe a little more attention. Like, well, a fire that breaks out above your office in the State Department, and only above YOUR office – During the Thanksgiving holiday when no-one is around.
November 2012 – ….. an unusual fire breaks out, on a long holiday weekend, in the State Department building, in Washington DC, on the Seventh Floor [Office of the Secretary of State], and Eighth Floor [State Reception and only Public Tour venue] …… You just can’t make this stuff up. (link)
I’m not going to comment about what took place, you can watch it for yourself and decide.
However, there’s another aspect to think about. This discussion panel mocking is reflective of their beliefs; and they think it’s of value to broadcast their shallow mockery into peoples homes.
Just think about what level of intellect can actually reconcile such behavior.
If you do not inject – you might infect. Compliance is mandatory citizen… Resistance is futile, you WILL be assimilated !
PENNSYLVANIA – Dreonna Breton was very concerned about her fourth pregnancy.
Now she and her husband, Jeremy, are worried about paying their bills after she was fired from her job as a registered nurse on Dec. 17.
“It’s a scary place to be,” she said. “We depend on my income heavily.”
Breton, 29, lost her job for refusing to be immunized against the flu.
And the Bretons, who live in West Donegal Township with their 19-month-old son, Westen, do not regret her decision.
“We know we did the right thing,” she said Thursday. (more…)
The 2010 and 2012 class of Tea Party House Congressional members have done an outstanding job of holding the line amid attacks from both Democrats and Republicans. Can you just imagine what legislative life would be like without their fight?
Ted Cruz appears on ABC This Week and discusses his meeting with them during the shutdown. Jonathan Karl is just aghast at their united patriotic perspectives.
Because the economics behind this holiday season reflect the reality of fundamental change you probably will not see them discussed too much within the mainstream news; it just doesn’t fit the recovery narrative.
However, you don’t have to be an economist to understand Christmas expenditures. It’s generally accurate that if your family spent less, the entire nation probably spent less for the exact same reason.
The worse news yet to reflect in the macro roll-up centers around Gift Card use. Gift cards are not accounted for as economic sales on the shopping ledger until they are redeemed. That statistic is yet to be determined.
(Via CBS) […] Deep discounts and extended hours could not get Americans to spend as much as stores expected this holiday season, so now retailers are cutting prices even more.
“Retailers overshot the mark, in terms of apparel supply,” said retail analyst Craig Johnson. “So there’s an imbalance of supply and demand in apparel, leading to all the dramatic promotions you’re seeing today.” (more…)
