It’s obvious what is happening within the Texas gubernatorial race and Democrat candidate Wendy Davis.     Sunlight upon the “real” life story of Ms. Davis has shown her life story narrative was foundationally false, so now she is obfuscating and trying to find niche issues which will afford her some electoral support.

The humorous aspect is all the new platform adjustments, the politically convenient changes, are diametrically opposite from the party she is a member of.  She is floundering aimlessly, and trying to position herself in favor of the voters.

Rising Democratic star and gubernatorial candidate Wendy Davis has joined her top Republican rival in supporting a proposed “open carry” law. It would allow people with concealed handgun licenses to wear a pistol on their hip, in full view, while in public.

Davis has said she supports expanding gun rights in Texas. But in a statement to The Associated Press, she said that includes open-carry — a position that puts her at odds with her own party but could keep her from alienating gun rights advocates in a deeply conservative state where the Second Amendment is sacrosanct.

This is remarkable, the latest in a string of rightward moves that must have the more honest among Davis’s backers wondering why they’re bothering. (more…)

The testimony today on capitol hill was blood boiling to say the least. During hearings about IRS targeting of conservative groups, which unlike President Obama’s claim appears fraught with political scandal, some of the victims began to lay out the details of the attacks they have endured.

One of those victims is Mrs. Catherine Engelbrecht. Catherine Eghelbrecht is a conservative activist, Tea Party member and founder of True the Vote. Mrs. Engelbrecht, outlined how she has been the specific target of FOUR federal agencies (The FBI, IRS, ATF and OSHA) along with one Texas State agency (EPA).

Prior to her founding of True The Vote, as a simple business person, she was never on the federal radar. However, as soon as she engaged in advocacy for her beliefs she was targeted by the “weaponization of government”. 14 IRS audits of personal and business finances, 4 times visited by the FBI as a ‘domestic risk’, 3 times visited by the Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms, and two audits by The Occupational Safety and Health Administration. He didn’t pay the: “may I please protect myself tax” !   So now the victim is a criminal.

CHICAGO – A 44-year-old man on crutches fatally shot one of two intruders who came charging at him Friday morning in the Heart of Chicago neighborhood, according to police.

Mario Viramontes, 31, was declared dead on the scene in 2000 block of West 21st Street at 9:22 a.m., according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

Police were called to the scene at 9:09 a.m. for a burglary, and when they arrived, they found that a “male offender” who had been trying to commit a burglary had been shot by the homeowner, said Police News Affairs Sgt. Antoinette Ursitti.

The 44-year-old homeowner was sleeping when his frightened 18-year-old daughter woke him up, then told him that she heard noises and thought someone was breaking into the apartment behind theirs, according to a police report. (more…)

NO, actually having a Supreme Court Justice who cannot apply the term “illegal” to unlawful criminal behavior is what I would consider insulting.

Remember, this is one of the Supreme Court Justices. 

As in – a co-equal branch of government whose very charter is “interpreting” laws, and legal definitions therein.   Legal definitions are then used to frame judicial opinion toward the constitutional authority of the law to stand.  

In a very specific sense all the Supremes do is interpret law 24/7/365 and apply opinion toward definitions contained within the words.

CBS – […]   On the Supreme Court since 2009, Sotomayor said it was tough at first as justices made references that went over her head. She said joining the high court amounted to joining an ongoing conversation among justices who had served for years.

“I figure I may not be the smartest judge on the court but I’m going to be a competent justice,” she said. “I’m going to try to be the best I can and each year I think my opinions have been getting better. And I’m working at finding my voice a little bit.”

Sotomayor was asked at a talk at Yale Law School later in the day about her use of the term “undocumented immigrants” rather than the traditional illegal alien. Sotomayor characterized the issue as a regulatory problem and said labeling immigrants criminals seemed insulting to her. (more…)

“The children belong to all of us” ?   Hmmm.  How positively Clintonian.

(CNSNews.com) – In addressing criticism of the Common Core national  education standards, a panelist at the Center for American Progress  (CAP), a liberal think tank, said critics were a “tiny minority” who  opposed standards altogether, which was unfair because “the children  belong to all of us.”

The CAP was founded by John Podesta, former chief of staff to Bill  Clinton and now an adviser to President Barack Obama.  At a CAP event to  promote Common Core on Friday, CNSNews.com asked about the critics who  say federal monetary incentives attached to Common Core is driving the  states to implement the standards. There is not an organism alive on the planet which, given all possible conveniences, will not consume every single resource immediately in front of it.  Period.

Put a bacteria into a petri dish of broth and the bacteria will continue to grow until every ounce of energetic expansion resource (broth) is consumed.

Put an endless bowl of consistently good tasting food/treats on the floor and every cat and/or dog in your home will grow fat.

Put an endless supply of continually fresh and great tasting food in front of a person and they will grow fat.

It is the inherent state of unbridled biology, within every single organism, that all resources will be consumed unless they have cognitive and spiritual connection to virtue. (more…)

ALABAMA – (wkrg)  […]   Victim Mr. Carroll Jordan – A generous man to everyone who knew him—even lending his car to those who needed it.

“Tried to be a good neighbor.”

But that kindness was struck down when two men and a woman walked through his open front door, pulled him from his favorite chair, beat and stabbed him several times. One of those men was 18-year-old Robert Campbell who was arrested this morning after being found at a relative’s house. Jordan’s neighbor actually interrupted the crime.

There is a considerable amount of chatter amid the blog-o-sphere for an interview Hugh Hewitt had with former Clinton White House Counsel Lanny Davis. [ Transcript here ]

Most of the attention has focused on the final segment question where Hewitt challenges Davis to summarize Hillary’s accomplishments as Secretary of State, and Davis cannot name one:

LANNY DAVIS: … more time, which is at some point, at some point, if she runs for president, Benghazi and every other issue she’s being criticized for, and I happen to believe that there are only a handful of people that hold Benghazi against her. I don’t think that that’s a serious political issue for her.

HUGH HEWITT: Okay, then give me one more thing.

DAVIS: But she’s got to do it. She’s got to do it if she runs for president. And she knows that.

HEWITT: All right, one question, you’ve got a minute. Summarize for me what she accomplished as Secretary of State.

The lady who wore tampons in her ears on television, and later mocked Mitt Romney’s grandson because he was black, has a spidey sense for detecting racism. She can define it when others cannot, or so she says. However, given the propensity for MSNBC to miss the daily examples of black racism directed toward non-blacks one must wonder if her psychological  tuning fork is uni-directional.

(The Daily Caller) At a recent forum at the University of Michigan, MSNBC host Melissa Harris-Perry explained to her audience that white people will never understand why things are racist, because they lack an innate “racial trigger,” that instantly tells them when to be outraged.

Harris-Perry, on the other hand, has a very finely-tuned racial trigger.

“I know that this moment is racist because it trips my racial trigger, because it makes me feel nauseous,” she said, according to The Michigan Daily. “I’m not generally angry, but you just made me mad.” (more…)

Ann Coulter – As House Republicans prepare to sell out the country on immigration this week, Phyllis Schlafly has produced a stunning report on how immigration is changing the country. The report is still embargoed, but someone slipped me a copy, and it’s too important to wait.

Leave aside the harm cheap labor being dumped on the country does to the millions of unemployed Americans. What does it mean for the Republican Party?
