IRAQ – One of the last Christian strongholds in Iraq came under attack this week, and its last remaining citizens are making a desperate plea to the United States for help.
Until this week, Qaraqosh was a town where Christians from other parts of Iraq could find refuge. But late Wednesday night, ISIS rebels started shelling Qaraqosh, provoking a mass exodus on Thursday.
According to various reports, anywhere from 10,000 to 50,000 citizens have fled. The Syrian Catholic Archbishop of Mosul, Yohanna Petros Mouche, has remained behind with around 1,000 of the town’s inhabitants who do not have cars or other means of leaving. (more…)

Before the Lois Lerner issues hit the news, the IRS was sending the identity of conservative Traditional Marriage Defenders to liberal/gay opposition groups so the Rainbow Mafia could target them.   The IRS has admitted doing this.

Yet, with Lois Lerner, and essentially the same claims, the institutional Democrat Party within the IRS claim there is no “there” there.

WASHINGTON – The IRS has agreed to pay $50,000 in damages to the National Organization for Marriage (NOM) for unlawfully releasing its private information to a gay rights group that is a political rival, the Daily Signal has learned.
NOM expressed relief at the settlement agreement.

“Congress made the disclosure of confidential tax return information a serious matter for a reason,” NOM chairman John D. Eastman told The Daily Signal. “We’re delighted that the IRS has now been held accountable for the illegal disclosure of our list of major donors from our tax return.”

SUDAN – A 27-year-old woman sentenced to death last month for converting from Islam to Christianity in Sudan has been freed from prison and sent to a safe house for her own protection.
The case of Meriam Ibrahim, who is married to a Christian American, triggered an international outcry. She gave birth to a baby daughter while in prison.
‘The appeal court ordered the release of Mariam Yahya and the cancellation of the (previous) court ruling,’ Sudan’s SUNA news agency said. The couple’s 20-month-old son was also held in prison with Ms Ibrahim and her newborn daughter. (more…)

That headline might sound ridiculous, but at the core of this story – that’s what’s going on.  And before you dismiss it, it’s far more common than you would think…

Happy Fathers Day from the New Jersey Politburo:

BACKSTORY – A 13-year-old New Jersey middleschooler was twirling a pencil in class.  Another student said he made it look like a gun and reported it to the teacher.

The teacher over-reacted, the school’s initial response compounded the stupidity.

Dad went public.

The community and media ridiculed the school heavily.  The School District Superintendent had no choice but to side with Dad – the entire incident was insufferably silly.

Embarrassed, and feeling pressure from both district administration and the media as well as the broader public, the school backed down, way down, even sending Dad an apology.

However, either for spite -or because they are constitutionally stupid- I’d guess the former, the administration of the school filed an “incident report” with Child Protection and Permanency, a division within the New Jersey CFS (Child Family Services).

That kicked 13-year-old junior and Dad into the New Jersey CFS system.

Dad was now demanded by the state to send junior to a psychologist for an evaluation.  That’s when things went downhill….. quickly. (more…)

You might see punditry begin to obfuscate the Lindsey Graham win against the backdrop of the Eric Cantor loss.

Their collective goal will be to diminish the visibility of conservative strength and grassroots power (because we all know Graham to be a top shelf Decepticon) and cast aspersions toward us by saying the establishment holds in South Carolina.

So, how much support does Graham actually carry?

Let me just point out something factual for you to consider.   Both Lindsey Graham and Tim Scott were on the same South Carolina GOP primary Ballot.

As of this writing Lindsey Graham got 172,765 votes (56%) of support in his race.   However, Tim Scott garnered 265,586 votes and won with (89% of electorate) in his.

The same voters holding the same ballot gave Tim Scott more than 90,000 votes more than Lindsey Graham.

Crushes a few of those “talking points” no?

Mosul – The city General Petraeus cleaned up and used as the model  for how to deal with counter insurgency – Has fallen.

“Mosul now is like hell. It’s up in flames,” said Amina Ibrahim, who like many others was heading for northern Iraq’s more stable Kurdish-controlled zone. “I lost my husband in a bomb blast last year, I don’t want my kids to follow him.”

IRAQ – Militants storm northern city of Mosul, freeing thousands of prisoners, as Iraqi prime minister declares state of emergency and offers to arm citizens who volunteer to fight against militants Al-Qaeda seized control of Iraq’s third biggest city on Tuesday, freeing thousands of imprisoned fellow fighters in a series of jailbreaks and sparking a mass exodus of refugees.

The assault on the city of Mosul, 225 miles north west of Baghdad, saw the Iraqi army retreat to the outskirts after a sustained assault by men armed with heavy machine guns and rocket-propelled grenades. As well as seizing the main governorate building – forcing the city’s governor to flee – the gunmen were also reported to have gained control of three different jails, numerous police stations and an airport, where several military planes and helicopters were based. “It takes a village” comes to life, and evolves into – “The village will tell you”, under what circumstances you -the parent- will be allowed to influence their children….. 

MICHIGANDISTAN – One Michigan mother was unpleasantly surprised when she took her daughter to the doctor recently. When she arrived in the office, a notice on the door terrified and angered her.

The note informed patients that a new Michigan law about access to medical records requires doctors (or nurses) to have a “private” conversation with adolescent children ages 12 – 17.

Needless to say this mom was not happy with the notice or the nurse’s insistence that there was no way for her to opt out.

… I asked if this policy was in effect and if so, how could I opt out. The receptionist told me it’s a new law and there is no opting out. Working to keep my cool, I said, “I’m sure there is.” She said, “No, there isn’t.” At which point I asked if I needed to leave and go to the urgent care center because I was not submitting my daughter to such a conversation.

That did not go over well.

The National Republican Senatorial Committee, which deployed field staff to Mississippi ahead of the primary to bolster Cochran’s operation, gave him $45,400 on May 20.

[…]  Karl Rove and American Crossroads, the powerful GOP outside-spending group, said Wednesday morning that it would not spend money in the Cochran-McDaniel race. Though Crossroads was not involved in the Mississippi primary prior to this week, the definitive statement that the group will not engage deprives national Republicans of a possible funding stream for Cochran’s effort.

“Other than Alaska, we have completed our work on Senate primaries this cycle and are now focused on general elections. With the Chamber of Commerce, the National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC) , and a local super PAC (Haley Barbour) already backing Cochran, this is not our fight,” Crossroads spokesman Paul Lindsay said in an email.
