NEW YORK – Investigators are running license plate numbers, scouring social media, examining cellphone transmissions and collecting DNA as part of their investigation into who climbed the Brooklyn Bridge in the middle of the night to plant two bleached-white American flags there, NBC News has learned.

WASHINGTON DC – A new intelligence assessment concludes that misperceptions about U.S. immigration policy – and not Central American violence – are fueling the surge of thousands of children illegally crossing the Mexican border.
The 10-page July 7 report was issued by the El Paso Intelligence Center (EPIC), which according to the Justice Department website is led by the DEA and incorporates Homeland Security. Its focus is on the collection and distribution of tactical intelligence, information which can immediately be acted on by law enforcement.

After meeting with several Horry County elected officials about the fatal shootings during Memorial Day weekend in Myrtle Beach, Gov. Nikki Haley bluntly said Friday that the Atlantic Beach Bikefest event must end.

“This is no longer a law enforcement issue”.

Haley said the shootings and violence during the weekend hurt tourism and the potential for new industry and jobs to move into the Grand Strand because of the national attention it received. (more…)

(Via Huffington Post)  Texas gubernatorial candidate Wendy Davis received a hostile greeting in Los Angeles Thursday morning, when life-sized posters depicting her as “Abortion Barbie” began popping up throughout the city ahead of her fundraiser there.

The posters say “Hollywood welcomes Abortion Barbie Wendy Davis,” and they show Davis’ face on a mostly-naked barbie doll with a plastic baby in her belly. Conservative pundit Erick Erickson nicknamed Davis “Abortion Barbie” earlier this year because when she was a state senator, she stood on her feet and spoke for 11 hours straight to filibuster a draconian package of anti-abortion bills. This is unreal.   Last year at 14-years-old Marshall Coulter was shot in the head during a suspected burglary at 2am.   The shooter/homeowner was unfortunate enough to be a victim of the “Trayvon Effect” (charge all white folk who are defending themselves) and was charged with 2nd degree murder.   The 14-year-old is now 15…..

LOUISIANA – A 15-year-old who survived being shot in the head last July by a Marigny homeowner was arrested Friday (May 2) in a residential burglary in the Marigny, according to two law enforcement officials. Marshall Coulter was shot last July by homeowner Merritt Landry, who later told police he believed the teen was breaking into his home.

The officials spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to speak about the investigation.

They said Coulter was detained Friday afternoon by 8th District detectives after a resident in the 2000 block of Royal Street reported a burglary of their home. It was not immediately clear how police linked him to the crime.

New Orleans police spokesman Officer Frank Robertson III said officers detained a 15-year-old boy around 3:45 p.m. and booked him on a simple burglary charge. He said the investigation was ongoing and that no more information would be forthcoming. No court or jail records were available in the case. (more…)
