As inflation bites the working-class hard, U.S. household savings rates continue dropping fast.  When combined with drops in home values the loss in home equity compounds the issue.  American families are getting poorer much more quickly under Joe Biden’s economic policies.

According to the Wall Street Journal home values dropped in August at their highest monthly rate of decrease since 2011 {link}.  In part this is driven by higher mortgage rates which are pricing home buyers out of the market.  However, the regional impact is worse on the west coast than east or southeast.

As noted in The Daily Mail review of a similar analysis: “It’s Northern California that leads the way, with San Jose experiencing a drop of 10.8 percent since September, followed by San Francisco at 8.5 percent, then it’s Seattle at 8.2 percent, Denver at 5.8 percent, San Diego 5.2 percent, Portland 5.1 percent, Las Vegas 4.8 percent and Phoenix at 4.4 percent.” (link)

What we are seeing is a confluence of events, generally brought about by the outcomes of larger Biden administration policy.  Massive increases in energy costs are the result of energy policy; those increases are fueling inflation from the supply side on food, fuel, electricity, home heating etc.  Simultaneously, Fed monetary policy is driving consumer demand down.  The recession debate continues amid the economic think-tanks while Main Street outcomes show we have been in a recessionary period all year.

The New York Supreme Court has ordered reinstatement for all employees fired over their nonvaccinated status and ordered back pay for those who were unlawfully terminated from employment [Full pdf Ruling Here].

The state supreme court found that being vaccinated does not stop the spread of COVID-19, saying the vaccine mandate and firing of the non-compliant employees was “arbitrary and capricious.”  This is a strong rebuke to the totalitarian fiats created by state leaders including the state governor, mayor of New York City and health commissioner.

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis and the lying liar who lies, Charlie Crist, held their one and only debate last night.  Of all the gubernatorial debates so far, this one was probably the best.  Thankfully, DeSantis won the debate on substance because Crist just sucks. However, DeSantis flubbed the most predictable question that was asked.

Every Floridian should vote for DeSantis, because Crist is just an unbearable alternative. That said, the insufferable Charlie Crist asked Governor DeSantis to commit to a four-year term in office and promise the Florida voters he would not abandon his state to run for the GOP nomination in 2024; effectively making DeSantis only a six-month reelected governor because national campaigning will start in June 2023.

It is true, the question should have come from the moderator, because it’s a transparently obvious and predictable question.  However, regardless of who actually asked it, the non-response from Governor DeSantis was telling.  WATCH (just first minute):

A few things about that non-response are remarkable.

First, even a middle school debate coach would have known that question was likely in the debate.  The fact that DeSantis did not have a well-rehearsed and prepared canned answer to the question is a reflection of stunningly poor debate prep.

Second, the evasive and non-truthful answer he did give, totally avoiding the question, shows the incredible weakness within a candidate that is a specific outcome of a lack of honesty.  That response is also reflective of why Donald Trump wins every debate.  Trump wields truth as an effective weapon.

I’ve been sharing some of the challenges with site admins; at their suggestion here’s the latest from the impact zone.

First things first.  To establish the context, what made Ian completely different from all other hurricane recovery responses I have been involved in comes down to two issues: strength of the storm (155+ mph winds), and more importantly the duration of the event (8+ hours of peak destruction).

In normal hurricane impacts the worst affected areas generally experience 3 to 4 hours of chaos.  Hurricane Ian was unique in that it was only moving 8 to 10 mph and that made the storm damage completely different.  Structures that survived the first half, completely failed during the second half of the storm.

Almost nothing survived unscathed after 8 to 9 hours of that strength of storm sitting, almost stationary, in one place; nor was anything ever designed to withstand that duration of storm with winds from the South, then East, then West as Ian meandered inland from the gulf toward the north northeast.

After this storm, and having been through four previous direct impacts, including Homestead AFB, I would say this….  If there is even a remote chance you would ever encounter this type of a hurricane event, EVACUATE.  Do not try and hunker down if there is a looming possibility of having to rely on a structure to withstand 150+ mph wind for a full day.  Just leave.  With all of my preparations in place, and all of the knowledge I possess in storm survival, I would never attempt that again.

That said, I will put a better word image together at a later date to share, along with specific recommendations learned as an outcome of this event.  In the interim, just accept my most strenuous advice. If this specific type of storm was ever predicted to come near you, GET OUT.

Newsmax is no longer a good MAGA outlet. However, that said, Alina Habba, Esq, attorney to Donald Trump and spokesperson for the MAGA, Inc. Super PAC provides information on the recent $9 million midterm election spend to support senate candidates.

I find it a little funny how the RNC insiders gripe and complain that Donald Trump and the MAGA vote base do not spend more money on RNC approved candidates. Actually, I cannot remember a time before when an individual politician was required to fund the party slate, simultaneous to the party insiders supporting candidates who attack the individual candidate and MAGA base voters.  Then again, it’s all part of the internal MAGA fight for control over the RNC apparatus.  WATCH:

National media are backing away slowly from Arizona Democrat gubernatorial candidate Katie Hobbs, using her refusal to debate Republican candidate Kari Lake as the justification.  However, the reality behind the slow exit appears related more to the sheer “valley girl” ineptitude, than the debate decision.  Hobbs is a terrible candidate.

Despite her current role as Arizona Secretary of State, you only need to watch her efforts to present herself to an audience, any audience, to see the construct of a progressive political candidate who has no qualifications to run a state office.  More exposure only highlights the ineptitude.

A good example of the media’s current slow-exit position is represented in this exchange on ABC’s Good Morning America.  WATCH:

If the Arizona election is a fair and honest election, Kari Lake should easily defeat Katie Hobbs.  Only the most die-hard progressive moonbat could consider Hobbs a qualified candidate for governor.  She’s really that bad.  Arizona Republicans, Independents and the remaining few intellectually honest Democrats need to ensure Vally Girl Hobbs does not achieve higher office.

President Trump and Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross both raised serious concerns about the malign intents of Chinese nationals involved in the efforts of Huawei Telecommunications to infiltrate U.S. communication networks.

The Trump administration tried to block Huawei from involvement in the 5G telecommunications system in the United States claiming there were national security interests that could be compromised.

However, Washington DC politicians, and Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, both of whom were recipients of Chinese donations, defended the expansion efforts of Huawei and accused the Trump administration of “Asian hate.”

In the background, to reinforce a false political narrative surrounding the Asian hate theme, in 2021 the Biden administration removed the China initiative, an investigation of PRC influence in U.S. institutional systems, from the focus of the U.S. justice system.

Yet today, the Biden administration announced the arrest of two Chinese nationals, and the indictment of 11 more, for exactly what the Trump administration had feared:

(DOJ) In three separate cases in the U.S. Attorneys’ Offices for the Eastern District of New York and the District of New Jersey, the Justice Department has charged 13 individuals, including members of the People’s Republic of China (PRC) security and intelligence apparatus and their agents, for alleged efforts to unlawfully exert influence in the United States for the benefit of the government of the [People’s Republic of China] PRC.
