Strong MAGAnomic outcomes announced today as the Bureau of Economic Analysis (BEA) releases the third-quarter GDP number, and it comes in strong at 3.4% growth. [Announcement Here] – [Data Table 1 Here]
I have modified Data Table 1.1.1 in the graphic below to highlight the key metrics. As readers are well aware, imports are a deduction to GDP data. Our national GDP is the sum value of all goods and services generated within the economy, minus imports.
[Table 1 data source]
Exports decreased 5.7%. However, within the data you will note a third quarter massive surge in imports of 26.4% (goods), which led to a deduction impact of 3.32% in the overall GDP statistic [Table 1.5.2] As noted in the BEA review, “the largest contributor to imports was capital goods, except automotive.”
A 26% increase in capital goods is massive. I would anticipate that in addition to large industrial equipment, what we are witnessing in that import number is the AI-Data Center factor, this is the massive ‘compute’ need. The likely highest import value is on the data chips.
Think about it. If there was no increase in imported goods and services to deduct from the growth rate, the U.S. economic growth rate would have been +6.7%. Keep in mind the USA is already the largest economy in the world at $32.5 trillion. So, a growth rate of 3.4% is a massive whole dollar increase in the U.S. economy. The pie is much larger!
Overall investment into the economy grew at a whopping 19.4% versus the prior quarter. The value of industrial equipment grew 20.9% over the prior quarter. We are investing in industrial production and setting the equipment in place for a manufacturing boom for the next several years.
In the background we still need to import industrial equipment and computer chips until we get the manufacturing systems in place (industrial equipment) to begin producing the outputs domestically. But industrial investment at this scale is exceptional for the long-term growth of the economy.
Yahoo – The U.S. economy expanded faster than economists expected during the third quarter of 2026, according to figures released Thursday by the Commerce Department. Growth was supported by increases in investment, consumer spending and government expenditure, although a decline in exports partially offset those gains.
Real gross domestic product (GDP) increased by 3.4% in the third quarter, compared with growth of 2.2% in the second quarter.
Economists had forecast an expansion of 3.1%, meaning the reported figure exceeded expectations by 0.3 percentage points.
The Commerce Department reported that real GDP growth reached 3.4% during the July-to-September period, compared with 2.2% in the preceding quarter.
The increase represented an acceleration of 1.2 percentage points between the second and third quarters.
The third-quarter result also exceeded economists’ consensus forecast of 3.1%.
Real GDP measures the value of goods and services produced in the economy after adjusting for changes in prices.
The latest figures indicated that U.S. economic activity expanded at a faster rate during the third quarter than in the previous three-month period. (more)

And the markets are tanking…looks like the globalists are not happy about increased productivity in the US!
Curious to see what happens now that this leaked video proves that MSFT is still trying to import cheaper foreign workers, even as they offer “buy outs” to 60,000 mostly US citizens, in the name of “downsizing”.

So I own Micron stock as well. Same thing happened, their quarterly numbers were excellent by any measure and 2027 forecast is a home run. What happened, Micron goes down. Same thing here, numbers great, market down. It tells you that the traders, analysts and investment banking knows the numbers are strong and will continue to be strong. Sell off, take profits push the stock prices down and then build them back up based on the known good numbers in 2027.
I think it’s more a function of Google reporting today.
The stock market is also politicized, it almost always moves up towards the Election to bolster all the uni-party incumbents.
Ahh, but not in the Trump era.
The betting markets are also getting a lot of money dumped into them to sway opinions. I don’t think the dems have an average of 94% odds to take the house. Maybe 65%, at best. The real on the ground data in key states show strong R odds.
This has always been the stock market strategy. Retired trader here, I saw it every day. Its a rigged system, either accept that or play the same game. People in general accentuate the down turn with panic, saw that too. Never could convince them to BUY instead of sell. The stock market trades on emotion not intellect. Add in programed trades and you get what we have. RIGGED
Maybe tanking… but I’m doing just fine!… Like the song says — You gotta know when to holdum, know when to foldum.. :):)
Went heavy into energy when PDT was elected in 2024. Have made enough real income from those investments to have way more financially then Ill need for the rest of my lifetime. This years dividends will be huge
If you own defense stocks like Lockheed Martin you’re having a nice day, and a nice week.
Dow, S&P 500, Nasdaq, Russell, International, Emerging markets, Small caps, Mid caps. ALL up this year. Not sure what markets you’re referring to.
Good news, for sure. However, the average economically illiterate voter only sees the prices at the pump and at the grocery store.
So, what are you doing about that?
Riding my 24 year-old crotch rocket motorcycle more. She gets about 43 miles to the gallon. And this is the one time of year we get nice weather in my locale. It’s perfect timing.
Maybe the person will vote to counter the illiterate voter.
Fair question, Sundance. I attempt to educate them on POTUS’ economic strategy for this country and how it will benefit them and future generations going forward. Like he said: “short term pain for long term gain.” The only problem is most people nowadays don’t suffer pain very well and want something NOW to relieve it. My criticism is directed mainly at the lackluster messaging effort by Republicans to clearly articulate this strategy.
It must irk Trump to work so hard to drag these drain plug senate republicans over the finish line. They do all they can to tick us off.
For my part I shared this article…
… (other things too but this)
❤️🎯❤️🎯❤️🎯🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
The only way to make affordability a mute topic is by the media making it a mute topic like during the Biden term.
you best be talking to people around you and explain it. Don’t leave it for chance
I do, all the time.
‘Good on ya!’
We all need to do what we can.
Try to mention the salaries and wage increase taking place in the United States.
Sure things have increased but so has the paycheck. And in many cases the paycheck has risen higher than the inflation rate. Also remember 2 percent is baked into the pie. There will always be inflation. The problem begins when inflation stays higher than the paycheck increases.
I would love to see gas prices what they were when I was say 10 years old. Somewhere around, .50 and .59 cents a gallon!
19 cents for me but I am getting older
That’s all I hear about here in SoCal too. Our gas prices are high cuz of how the state taxes each gallon. But the grocery prices, I don’t see it. Yesterday I bought:
2 gallons organic whole milk
Microwave popcorn
2 pieces wild caught salmon
Organic blackberries
3 organic bananas
The price was $38.40. I feel like that’s normal 🤷🏼♀️
I buy 90% of my groceries on Amazon now. The prices are often 30-50% less than my local Vons. No complaints here.
Just because people see and talk about the gas prices does not make them economically illiterate.
It is what it affects them more powerfully.
Just because they talk about it does not mean they are now progressive.
I had a nice portfolio – did all the right things, company match and all that -left it long term… and in 2008 I lost every thing ….
I will never do the market again …ever …glad you are all making money….. but … the market is as dirty as our elections and is being manipulated as well.
Many do not have the capital to “invest” at this time for a multitude of reasons.
Everyone needs to stop with the “pick a side” and everything is not so distinctly with us or against us… two things can be true at one time.
It doesn’t make them “progressive”, SeaDog. It means they are normal, everyday Americans just trying to make ends meet. Most Americans are turned off by any discussion involving economics. Who can blame them? It’s a boring, abstract, and somewhat complicated subject. It doesn’t have to be, though. A basic understanding of competing economic theories such as Capitalism vs. Socialism/Communism would be useful. Especially now.
We need to have charts that not only state the imports, but have a line item for tariff money paid
jumpin juju
without the mfg/industrial import 6.7% GDP Wow.
It’s USA or Communism. that is what is on the ballot.
The proof is in front of people’s faces
If the economy is strong, the Fed says interest rates must go up
If the economy is weak, the Fed says interest rates must go up
That is, unless Democrats are in power
A lot of this is AI/Data Center driven as evidenced by valuations for chip makers and companies such as Vertiv/GE Vernova that sit in the middle of the construction boom. So, its a double-edged sword if one is not on the AI bandwagon. Google alone is expected to spend $200 Billion in the next year on AI/Data Centers. When you include other hyperscalers such as MSFT, Facebook and Amazon, the numbers get even more astronimical.
Read the article — importing computer chips for AI knocked the GDP down +3%.
I always do. One of the guidelines on this board. Highliting the fact for fellow treepers dear dean.
Luoookkinnggg GOOOOODDD!
So can we get or find out what the GDP number is for Q3 in Canada and the EU??
Pray earnestly for positive election results next Tuesday evening!
Manufacturing Boom …
over the next several years!
Just talked to a good friend, his company has their production sold out to first quarter of 2028, and still bashes PDJT every day multiple times.
Watches CNN, CBS, NBC, and has MSN feed on his computer.
Perhaps you should revisit your criteria for “good friends”
Not a chance, been friends for over 50 years!
Worked on multiple projects, he stills sends me things related to his company for a review, been around his sons from when they came home from hospital.
They are 3rd generation phasing in to run company.
Besides I get my grins when he inquires what—FJB Edition badge on my truck means.
Hang in there. Laugh or just smile at him. Hopefully his sons will be a bit more aware.
They are, as with the rest of us that have been around each other for a minimum of 50 years.
My female friend of 34 years cannot go an hour without hating DT. Under Biden her income taxes skyrocketed and she owed $5000 more than withheld. She screamed. After the BBB passed, her taxes dropped and got a sweet refund, shocking her. Do you think she put it together that Trump put money in her pocket? Nooooooo. She hates him all the more. Why are women so obtuse politically? She’s an otherwise smart girl.
Yep.
It’s such a shame Ilhan Omar won’t be around to experience this golden age with us.
Maybe we can send her a C.A.R.E. package or something?
No, the plane ticket will be enough.
I’m hoping for the old circus cannon method.
Slim Pickins style in Dr. Strangelove would be a hoot also.
A slow boat to China as an indentured deckhand would be better.
Another is put her on a bus to GITMO
Yeah! China would be a great place for her. An awakening awaits.
One way only! And never a return!
As long as it’s not a CAIR package we’re good.
Lots of folks are aware of the market because of their 401k. It’s not just the price of gas. Paid $3.42 yesterday in Austin. What are the Euros paying again? My minor in economics back in the day taught me 4% of the public have a grasp of economics. With the internet, I believe things have changed. My $.02 worth.
Reading yesterday that in Britain they are paying currently about $7.00/reg and about $9.00/diesel when converted from litres (as their petrol is priced) to gallons.
(An American gallon is the equivalent of 3.75 litres of a UK Imperial gallon. An Imperial European gallon is 4.54 litres.)
In Germany, more than €2/liter for both super and regular and €2.32/liter for diesel.
The Euro is currently sitting at $1.116.
(I was told there’d be no math 😎 )
we welcome math 🙂
Get out your calculators 😉👍🏻
I was told there would be no “reading comprehension” /sarc
I was told just to “check the correct boxes”
AAA gas prices in California…
https://gasprices.aaa.com/?state=CA
you will pay per liter, but in USD per gallon. 7-9 bucks
The USA is the largest exporter of diesel. How much of the growth is because the world market price is 7 dollars a gallon?
The solution to high prices is high prices. Increased prices will increase production which will lead to lower prices.
Almost everyone that reads any type of news are aware of the market…headline news every day…and most important…most are aware that all federal, state, city, union, company pension funds and individual accounts are in the stock market…
Anyone you run across that might appear to be unaware of these facts …just remind them of where their retirement monies are invested…
I bet that anyone in the above groups most certainly know what their accounts are worth!!!!!
$3.09 for regular at the beach in NC.
Dang, that’s great news!!!
Course, here in NC we have a ‘State holiday’ from paying the .41 cents state gas tax through November.
That explains it.
Paid 3.59 in Ga, 3.29 in SC, 3.19in NC.
Crossed the Virginia line. Back to 3.89.
Md? $4 and up.
“The U.S. economy expanded faster than economists expected during the third quarter of 2026, according to figures released Thursday by the Commerce Department.”
The Great El Rushbo is proven right once again! The “experts” are always wrong.
If we have a Republican president/Congress, the experts wrongly predict doom and gloom, and then have to correct their BS prediction.
If we have a DemonCrat president/Congress, the experts wrongly predict pie in the sky prosperity, and then have to correct their BS prediction.
It makes my heart happy to see Rush Limbaugh proven right over and over again, even years after his passing.
… for the Rio Lindo listeners especially.
Why Do They Despise Musk?
Elon Musk’s shift to the right, support for Trump, and defense of free speech have turned a former liberal darling into a target of the Left’s growing hostility toward billionaires.

Very little if any of this good economic news will be reported by the MSM, at least not before the polls close on Tuesday.
was at the hospital ER 3 days in a row. CNN. obama each day. youd think he was president. no signs of President Trump. I wanted to throw my shoe…
I read once that the only reason CNN made any money was because they had the contracts in almost all U.S. airports to have their channel showing non-stop on all the TV screens in the terminals, and if not for that they might have disappeared from the air years ago.
Also due to the way cable is set up. Cable subscriptions require one to buy a plan that includes x amount of channels, majority of which, subscriber will never watch. From that each channel is paid a cut. One can’t individualize their cable subscription with the current cable providers.
This. Another good reason to ditch cable and go streaming.
Did it 7 years ago.
Don’t miss being lied to daily.
And that has changed. Most airports have removed their tv screens from boarding gates and other areas. People are not watching them anymore. They have their own screens.
http://Www.Tvbgone.com
I love this device.
I use to have an app or something on my phone that allowed me to change channels and volume if I knew the zip code and cable provider. I changed the TV in the pediatrician’s office once to ESPN, lol! At the airport I guessed on the provider but could only control the volume.
Unexpectedly by the so-called “experts” again, no doubt.
“The United States is the world’s largest diesel exporter, supplying 1.26 million barrels per day in 2025, followed by Russia and Saudi Arabia. U.S. refineries produced about 1.76 billion barrels of ultra-low sulfur diesel in 2025, with most consumed domestically and some exported.”
At 7 dollars a gallon it really isn’t an increase in productivity its inflated prices we all get to pay too. Big oil is happy.
Now where did I put my box of “unexpectedly”s?
I wonder what the industrial supply subtraction was.
I am also curious, given inflation, are the numbers nominal or real.
Inflation measured 3.7%. Given the questions above and the same questions I’d ask any politician…. are we growing if inflation outstrips GDP?
I understand seasonal adjustments, but still – what are the nominal numbers and what are the real numbers?
are the numbers nominal or real.
They are real GDP growth (does not include inflation). See https://www.atlantafed.org/research-and-data/data/gdpnow to track their on-going estimates.
OK if I say it??? He was right about everything!
✝️❤️🇺🇸
Let us pray the day comes when we import smaller and smaller amounts and export more and more.
And unlike China without slave labor.
A line of key interest to me is the import of services.
A hidden feature is the impact in reduced ‘domestic’ expenditures caused by people who shouldn’t be here (both illegals and people taking up jobs Americans ought to have but don’t due to visa abuse).
As those people are removed they don’t spend (the money they shouldn’t have) here which will appear as loss of GDP although it’s a net boon in toto. Obviously removing the overt criminals and the welfare invaders benefits us most greatly which is partly why 2025 started with them…
Remittance. I think India is the largest, followed by Mexico (but didnt check prior to this comment…)
I think that is true but the data I saw from from global sources and not just the US.
It may be harder to track as well as most remittances are sent digitally versus the old fashioned Western Union method
…unexpectedly, as always.
🥳 🥳 🎉 🎉
Thank you for this report Sundance! This truly made my day.
MAGA 💕
Rep. Robert Garcia (D-CA) – “What we need to focus on right now is slowing and stopping the Trump agenda. That has to be our priority.”
That’s all Democrats have. America be damned, they got to stop Trump at all costs. American people can die & rot, but Trump has to be stopped. Why? He’s “the enemy.” He’s a Republican and that means Democrats aren’t in power.
The electronic components business is showing signs of shortage. What started as a squeeze on dynamic RAM and Flash Memory seems to be spreading to passive components and integrated circuits generally. It’s not anywhere near the shortages of the late 90s, but we may only be at the beginning. That, of course, ended with the dot-com bubble bursting. While the broad market recovered pretty quickly, it took 20 years for good healthy chip companies to beat their late 90s highs. Watch your duversifucation.
AI is the reason.
Wow! Green line go up! I’m still not doing well at all, and my 401k has been teetering for the last 6 months.
That might depend on what you are invested in.
We’re all witnessing Trump trying to bring solid manufacturing back to the USA, and signing contracts for same. But, it takes time for these plants to get built, tooled up, and employed. Most likely most of these “deals” will not come to fruition for about two to five years. I’m curious who’s going to take credit for the successful MAGA movement regarding the re-industrialization of the U.S.? I can envision some future Dem President puffing his/her chest and declaring: “Look what I’ve done for this country!” No?
Ones outlook on the economy also depends upon where you live. If you live in a blue state you are probably missing out on the rising economy.
If you go to an all you can eat lobster buffet and you don’t get any lobster then who is to blame? 🦞
I use strictly technical indicators with the Dow Jones Index. I shorted the Dow Jones index in July and still short. I am waiting for a long signal.
I never know “when”, but I will know “where”.
AI gravy train is slowing down- it’s a math problem. There is no path to profit for Open AI or Anthropic. Google, Meta, Amazon- all are basing their growth on contracts with both companies and neither Open AI nor Anthropic have the revenue to actually pay. Reality is hitting the neoclouds when it comes to raising continued funding. And there are a ton of NVIDIA chips sitting in warehouses because there is no way to get them online.
If the fed would drop the rate, by at least a full point, things would take off, again. They know this, and that is why they refuse to do so. I think the rate should drop three points over two years. It should be in the 3-4% range. That is the sweet spot. The lenders don’t want that. They are the problem, and those they are paying to keep the status quo. Everybody is getting paid except US. We do all the work, and they do nothing but shuffle papers, no, they wont even do that, today. Try and pay a bill by check.
In terms of massive imports in support of AI – I know of one company that is bringing in 2 B777’s cargo charters a week for more than a year full of computers. This is for a single data center.
That is an incredible investment and an enormous number of the most powerful / sophisticated / expensive computers. And that’s just one company.
Just a reminder that these numbers are net of inflation (3.6% at mo) which means the gross dollar increase was 7% in the quarter.
A GDP of about $8 trillion per quarter (average) growing at 7% yields an extra $560 Billion in the economy JUST FOR THAT QUARTER.
THAT GETS TAXED at current rates by the Feds, State and local authorities.
That extra tax revenue is how the Feds are supposed to pay off the debt, but good luck keeping the Congresscritters’ filthy hands off of that substantive extra revenue.
Earmarks, here we come (rubs filthy hands together like a bond villain).
GDP & imports decreasing is such good news. If we had an honest press people would worry less about gas prices!
“The U.S. economy expanded faster than economists expected during …” Reminded me of the ancient joke that ‘if you laid all the economists end to end, they wouldn’t reach a conclusion.’
Great news! No pretending! Ha
MAGA!
