Just as the communists planned the takeover of healthcare as their #1 legislative priority in 2008, so too are the same people now organizing the #1 priority for 2027. This time it’s AI.
BACKGROUND CONTEXT – In the runup to the 2024 election, I was having a lengthy discussion with a CEO of a large tech company about the alignment of Silicon Valley the MAGA election of Donald Trump.
The CEO said to me, “don’t be fooled; as soon as they get this upcoming Artificial Intelligence (AI) system fully developed, big tech will immediately jump back to supporting the Democrats.”
The reason was simple. Silicon Valley operates on a business plan where only a few, elite trillionaire tech companies control things. In order to secure their overwhelming market share, they will need regulation to shut down competition. Those same trillionaires will then write the regulations and attain market dominance. Everything else between now and that moment when they claim “safety and security” is chaff and countermeasures.
It is with that context that CTH has reviewed the rise of the big AI developers and also reviewed the recent claims by those same trillionaires about the need for urgent and immediate AI regulation. Their primary reasoning, “safety and security.”
NEW YORK TIMES – Former President Barack Obama warned during a recent private fund-raising event that artificial intelligence technology could be “dangerous” if not properly managed, as he implored Democrats to aggressively develop political and governing agendas to prioritize the issue in the coming years.
In his remarks on Thursday, which have not been previously reported, Mr. Obama urged Hakeem Jeffries, Democrat of New York and the House minority leader, to assemble a clear framework for a public conversation about A.I. policy, should Democrats win back the House in the midterm elections, according to a partial transcript provided by Mr. Obama’s office.
He also suggested that candidates running for president in 2028 ought to make A.I. one of their “central agendas” and “have a very clear plan” for responding to safety and economic concerns around the technology.
The recommendations from the former president amount to some of his most detailed comments yet about A.I. as a political issue for his party. At a moment when President Trump continues to downplay concerns about the technology, some Democrats see an opportunity for the party to draw a clear contrast in the midterms and beyond on an issue of growing significance. In a Democratic Party with no clear leader, many look to Mr. Obama for guidance, and his comments carry considerable weight.
[…] “Once you are speaker, I would strongly urge that the Democrats put together a framework for a very public conversation,” Mr. Obama told Mr. Jeffries, according to the transcript. Mr. Jeffries had asked him a question about how Democrats should address A.I. in a Congress that has taken little action on the issue, according to two of the people.
“This is something that is moving very fast in private hands, and if we don’t get on top of it, I think can be dangerous,” Mr. Obama said. “If we do get on top of it, I do think it’s beneficial. I genuinely think it’s going to accelerate, for example, drug development in ways that can help us cure diseases. I do think that this can help us figure out pathways for a clean energy future.” (read more)
WATCH (prompted): Mike Steger connects Trump’s investments in steel, energy, nuclear power, AI, and manufacturing with a larger economic revival. He then examines warnings from former Anthropic researcher Jacob Coxon, Dario Amodei’s call to slow frontier AI development, Effective Altruism, and proposed federal restrictions on advanced AI. Mike argues that the real battle is over who will control artificial intelligence—and whether it will support American industry and human creativity or become concentrated within government and a few powerful institutions.
AI will be the most disruptive technology ever developed by humans. It has the potential to eliminate countless jobs currently filled by highly degreed and very inteligent people. Just think what it will do to those less educated and gifted individuals.
I think the plan is for the “less gifted” to wind up occupying a trench in the Pripet Marshes for four to six years.
That worked out in 1914 and 1939.
I disagree. It is an awesome tool as a low-cost “helper” for technologists and other professionals. However, in my day job, if a piece of software doesn’t have a big footprint or a problem is an edge case, the AI provides the WRONG answer. It needs an AI Handler to catch those.
Additionally, as people keep using AI to get info, website traffic drops, which drops the incentives for people to post on the web, which shrinks future AI knowledge sources.
AI is an awesome tool to make searches faster and to generate a quick solution, but it is not a replacement for a human by any stretch of the imagination.
“shrinks future AI knowledge sources.”
No such thing… AI becomes its own knowledge source. Problem solved!
Nor a replacement for God, which is what the democrats want it to be.
I’m a regular guy and AI has allowed me to do so much better this year, a massive tool and benefit to my work and personal life. It will replace you if you are basically useless anyway, and will enable you if you have just a bit of a brain and work ethic.
Obama seems pretty sure that the Dems will take the House.
Very unsettling.
Maybe the fix is in. Wouldn’t surprise me on bit!
Voting in Virginia is now like voting in California. Spunkbooger will surely allow Fairfax County to write its own ballots for the most radical candidates.
Get the price of Oil low so that this scenario doesn’t come pass.
I still encounter people that believe Oil is High because Trump is just pissing away our military and time with Iran. These people are normal conservative voters, but not readers here.
What they DO care about is the price at the pump and the rising prices in the grocery stores.
Groceries and how unaffordable they are is by far and away the biggest complaint I hear and read about .
The next step is to pop the AI Bubble. A market crash will allow the Preferred Players to consolidate the smaller competition, while the newly established regulatory hurdles will prevent any challengers from presenting a viable alternative in the future.
Yes, we have known AI is the death nail in our coffins.
We will lose the midterms especially when the gas prices are very high.
This Treeper wants to know in detail why gas is so high. We’re producing a massive amount of oil because of President Trump.
Oil companies price gouging?!? In his last term it was under $2 a gallon.
The Demoncrats want to create a massive Great Depression.
I’m venting because I admit I’m scared.
Sundance, if you haven’t already check out Friday’s All In Podcast, they break down the psyop well.
Book recommendation: 2084 – by John C. Lennox
My brain is broken this evening, so I can’t do any personal recommendation that will be useful.
My heart is broken Sharon by all these people chasing the golden watch even if their own progeny die.
I should clarify I am reading the book and finding it astoundingly valuable. John Lennox is a Christian, professor emeritus at Oxford University, and is neither a “shill-for-Jesus” nor a dummy for those who want to run roughshod over either Biblical truth or common sense, etc.
It’s a sobering read. Worth fighting through. Understanding what Lennox shares is not going to (1) fix anything or (2) make you feel better. Simply being informed has value. (In my opinion)
Monopoly is their goal.
Did Osama have this talk with Hakeem on the prayer rug on Friday bowing towards Meca V
This is the guy they are grooming for President. Sandy Cortez is just a shiny object.
“… whether it will support American industry and human creativity or become concentrated within government and a few powerful institutions.”
There is no “Good AI Cult”, and there is no “Bad AI Cult”… there is but one AI Cult, and their priority is AI… Full Stop.
Sorta kinda shape’n up like the Tar Baby strategy what gave us the 16th Amendment and personal income tax. How crafty.
I feel like a boulder is headed down the mountain….
Those who are (and have been) most closely associated with the ongoing development of AI feel the same way.
Watch these two documentaries to get a feel for what has already happened (years ago) – Apha Go and The Thinking Game.
At one point in the script of The Thinking Game, one of the “good geeks” is speaking of the massive “reasoning power” they are unleashing in their programs and says, “….we had better create institutions to protect us.”
Why is Barack Obama in control of this party?
Three letters. First letter. Sounds like a word for “ocean.”
What he said…
“This is something that is moving very fast in private hands…” B. Obama
What he wants…replace those PRIVATE hands with GOVERNMENT CONTROL.
Private hands is why it is moving very fast. You want to really slow things down to the speed of California Highspeed Rail, with equal cost results for the taxpayer, let government run it.
China used our useful idiots to neuter our industries with the Climate Change Cult, and those same idiots while slide neatly to the anti-AI Cult.
