I would remind readers, in 2010 George W Bush’s campaign manager, aide and senior staff, Karl Rove, revealed [“Courage and Consequence“] that then CIA Director George Tenet had been trying for several weeks to get a personal meeting with President Bush to outline an intelligence concern about an international terror threat.
According to Rove, White House National Security Advisor, Condoleezza Rice, had been blocking Tenet from meeting with President Bush. Director Tenet sent several requests using alternate channels to reach Bush. Eventually, in the late spring or early summer 2001, Tenet overcame the Rice block and was given time to brief President Bush.
CIA Director George Tenet then told President Bush the CIA had intercepted telephone “chatter” pointing to an al-Qaeda terrorist threat that somehow involved airlines. However, the details and the specifics of the threat were unknown. The only thing Tenet knew with certainty was that some type of plot was underway and airlines were involved.
George W Bush responded to Tenet by saying it appeared the CIA director was just trying to “cover his ass” in case something happened. Bush was angered at the vagueness of the warning and told Tenet to consider his ass covered, but essentially the information was useless without specifics.
The rest, as they say, is history. The matter did not surface again until after the 9/11/01 plot was carried out.

The one thing that always bothered me about 9/11 history was the cellphone calls from the planes. I wasn’t on planes back then, and I wasn’t aware until very recently that you could send texts while on a plane – although I don’t know how to do that. I remember seeing phones on the seat backs several years ago. But I never knew if they worked or how.
But calling and leaving voice mails from a cellphone on a plane 25 yrs ago? Is the article correct? It was not possible?
My recollection is it was possible just not allowed because of the fear of disrupting systems on the plane. IF I rember correctly, usage on planes was not addressed until Cell phones started to saturate the market. Many people on planes believed the reason they banned cell phones was to force the use of the “air phones” at every seat

I remember at the time when the reports came out about one of “the hijackers” passports being found intact on scene at the WTC, (even though most of the victims had been incinerated into dust), I knew our government was lying to us. That they expected people to believe their bull manure about the passport just added insult to injury in the aftermath of this heart wrenching tragedy.
On one of the 25th Anniversary programs on CSPAN that I watched, George Bush was interviewed about his recollections of the day. The reporter asked him about how he feels today about all the Americans who died on 9/11. His response? “Well it’s sad. But a lot of other Americans have died. That’s sad too.” For real? Like 9/11 was no big deal? When I heard his callous response I thought, “You Ba*s*%D, you were in on it.”
May God show no mercy to all those who planned this atrocity, those who profited from it, and all those who have participated in the cover-up of the truth in it’s aftermath. We may never see Justice on this Earth, but they will not escape God’s Judgement.
