I would remind readers, in 2010 George W Bush’s campaign manager, aide and senior staff, Karl Rove, revealed [“Courage and Consequence“] that then CIA Director George Tenet had been trying for several weeks to get a personal meeting with President Bush to outline an intelligence concern about an international terror threat.
According to Rove, White House National Security Advisor, Condoleezza Rice, had been blocking Tenet from meeting with President Bush. Director Tenet sent several requests using alternate channels to reach Bush. Eventually, in the late spring or early summer 2001, Tenet overcame the Rice block and was given time to brief President Bush.
CIA Director George Tenet then told President Bush the CIA had intercepted telephone “chatter” pointing to an al-Qaeda terrorist threat that somehow involved airlines. However, the details and the specifics of the threat were unknown. The only thing Tenet knew with certainty was that some type of plot was underway and airlines were involved.
George W Bush responded to Tenet by saying it appeared the CIA director was just trying to “cover his ass” in case something happened. Bush was angered at the vagueness of the warning and told Tenet to consider his ass covered, but essentially the information was useless without specifics.
The rest, as they say, is history. The matter did not surface again until after the 9/11/01 plot was carried out.
So in August 2001, they had information of using our airlines for terrorist attacks.
When our loved ones are murdered as a result of our government not protecting us, the pain intensifies.
The cartels, allowed to operate freely have taken many more.
We have suffered in our own family as a result.

security could have been improved at airports ( restrictions on what passengers could take on board a flight ), ‘before’ 9-11.
But, nothing happened, ‘before’ 9-11.
The clue was ignored.
But, restrictions, sure happened ‘after’ 9-11 – when the whole world got a clue.

Did the ‘operation enduring freedom’ attack on a (taliban) mountain in Afghanistan do anything constructive to help peace

did the u.s. throw armaments away (and use the theatre and media to make it sound like there was retribution for 9-11, so as to appease the u.s. citizens….and give resource$ to the military connecton$…so as to also throw that away (for other theatre)? )_?
hint: the desires of terrorists (or communists or c-dems ) to act against the u.s. american dreams, (and ignorant or selfish or complicit u.s. miss leaders ) remains….

If nothing else, this information should have led the FBI to investigate thoroughly those Middle Easterners reported to have accessed pilot training in the U.S.–especially those whose reported training was peculiar indeed.
