What Barbara Boyd describes in this video about the ideological differences in the G20 reminds me of the long battles around MAGAnomics.

The zero sum argument has always been a fraud.
Fraud is a good term for it, because it implies that they know it’s a BS argument and they are using it for malicious purposes, which they are.

With no intent to bleed, I have a slightly different perspective, got a Bachelor’s degree in the 1st half of the ’60’s, served a tour in RVN with the Marines, got off active duty, stayed in the Weekend Warriors for a tour, went to grad school, got an MBA, but couldn’t believe the change in material taught/attitudes from even the early ’60’s to the ’70’s, that’s how quickly the ’60’s trash took over the educational system.
Amongst a group of Communists it is an optimistic solution. The reality is the pie gets smaller.
Build? What do globalists/communists/Democrats know about building up anything? All I’ve seen them do for years is tear down anything others build up.

Thanks to the Dodd-Frank banking reforms during the bho years. All cash deposits into a bank become property of the bank and the depositor is an unsecured creditor.
If the bank’s shoddy derivative investments screw up, the bank can legally pay off a depositor with some “bank stock”. So if you had deposited $100,000 and wished to close out your account, you could get $40,000 cash and $60,000 in bank stock, whether you like it or not.
Which is why my money is in a Credit Union, where the customers are part owners of the Credit Union. The big bankers were unsuccessful in getting the rules/laws changed for Credit Unions.
Credit Unions are the best available option for banking services for the reason s you describe, but the “money” itself is still worthless. Is it Your Name or YOUR NAME on your checks? I have used this analogy of the pie for decades to describe the difference between the United States and Europe. In Europe, if you have an outsized amount of money, you either stole it or inherited it.

Nothing illustrates the abundance/Malthusian difference between the US and EU than the history of SpaceX and the ESA.
The ESA has a much longer history than Spacex, but they were comfortable launching 6-10 rockets a year. They thought they were one of the elite space organizations.
When Musk announced they were going for resuseability, they laughed and said, in televised interviews that it wouldn’t work. One of their reasons they were against it was that if they went reusable, they would have to fire their engineers and machinists because there would be nothing for them to do. Space was just a jobs program to them.

Even when the Europeans did have a use for numerous launches, they couldn’t make the rockets. Back in the 90s or so they announced that they were going to compete with the American GPS system. The US system has. 650 satellites. The European version? 24. Forget about a Euro-Starlink.
This video below is a perfect illustration of the mindset. It was recorded a day or two after SpaceX launched a rocket where one engine exploded, but survived and delivered the payload to orbit.
