I mentioned this last night, and now more solid reports have emerged. Basically, Ukraine and Russia are taking turns striking each other’s warehouses and distribution centers with missiles and drones. However, the brunt of the damage and chaos is being felt only by one side—Ukraine.
Zero Hedge has a solid article explaining the dynamics:
A Russian drone struck a Ukrainian Defense Forces ammunition storage site in the village of Myla Friday evening, just west of Kiev. The resulting fire and hours of secondary detonations killed at least 37 people, injured dozens more, damaged around 50 residential buildings and a care home for the elderly and disabled, and forced the evacuation of hundreds. Among the dead was the local community head who had gone to help.
In response, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said ¹the placement of a weapons depot next to civilians was “terrible negligence.” The first impact, he said, hit a depot storing shells, mines, other munitions, and drones that “definitely shouldn’t have been there” – while prosecutors in Kiev opened a criminal investigation into the legality of storing explosives next to civilian housing. This is the second such incident in two months. A July strike on a depot in nearby Vyshneve produced similar secondary blasts, deaths, and later detentions of state defense-company executives.
Russia’s Defense Ministry said the Myla site held components and launch boosters for long-range drones. It also claimed strikes on Flamingo cruise-missile related facilities in the Kiev region and on the ports of Mykolaiv and Izmail. Social-media claims that Patriots were stored there remain unconfirmed by official Ukrainian statements.
Here comes the fact that few in the west understand:
Friday night’s blast came amid a multi-day Russian campaign of jet-powered drones and missiles that has produced near-continuous air-raid alerts over Kiev and hit warehouses belonging to supermarket chains, postal operators, retailers, and logistics firms. Ukraine Agriculture Minister Taras Vysotskyi told reporters that, “roughly speaking,” about 90% of the food-logistics infrastructure used by major retail chains (large distribution centers serving networks such as Fora, Silpo, NOVUS, and Varus) has been destroyed.

You can hit centralized Russian distribution centers and not accomplish any material impact to the people of Russia. However, if you hit centralized Ukraine distribution centers, chaos and crisis quickly surfaces for Kiev residents.
The why is not complicated.
Metropolitan Russia, home to more than 75% of the population, was set up around the concept of govt planned precincts.
Each few buildings you will find a generally useful grocery store, a bakery, a coffee shop, a pharmacy, a utility store, tobacco, produce shop etc. all within immediate walking distance.
EX. Bread is made in each bakery; made, not just taken out of a box. Actually made.
They set it up that way a long time ago during the Soviet era. Now, over time stores are different, but the planning never changed. The people of Russia also operate Dacha Gardens all over the urban sprawl and suburban areas.

Ukraine, we are told – even by former Defense Minister Fedorov, was convinced by western intelligence analysis that destroying the roughly 200 online Wildberries distribution centers it would cripple the Russian consumer economy.
Increased strikes did not yield the desired results.
Who in their right mind thought destroying regional Russian online warehouses would have some great impact? Russia is analog in a digital world.
However, conversely in our westernized, centralized, corporate consumer structures and logistics, we built distribution economies on centralized production and cost-efficient distribution, vis-a-vis Kyiv or Brussels etc.
Ex. The western bread for a hundred locations is made in one centralized or regional facility. Boxed, shipped and distributed for maximum efficiency and profit.
Bombing Russian distribution centers doesn’t have any impact on the precinct level operation. But taking out westernized regional hubs and distribution centers in Kiev can create immediate chaos.
That’s what we are seeing now.
Honestly, this is not complicated to analyze. These are two completely different economic and logistic models. One is centralized (Ukraine) and one is decentralized (Russia). Attacking the logistics of a decentralized system creates no substantive impact. Attacking the logistics of a centralized system creates major impact.
I think part of the reason the western news doesn’t make sense is because western media doesn’t understand Russia or pretend not to know things.
Apparently, the same applies to Western intelligence.

I was born and raised in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. Up untill today just outside the city there are ‘People Gardens’, little plots of land with nice tiny houses and a garden. People stayed there not only during the weekends, but often the entire summer. Mom stayed at the garden with the kids and daddy went to work in the city by bike, bus etc and came home in the evening.
You can’t buy a garden, just rent it. You have to build your own house.

Why has the Ukraine War lasted four and a half years? Russia should have won the war three or four years ago. I pondered this. Then I asked myself the question: how much money has Ukraine been given? $350 billion from the U.S., plus $100 billion taken from the Russian Sovereign Wealth Fund by the Europeans? That is a lot of money.
Few are as cynical as I am, so I asked myself: what if Zelenskyy has been paying kickbacks to Putin and top Russian officials to not win the war, or delay the inevitable outcome? Is that possible? One would think no, that Putin is a patriot, and he would never accept a bribe. Or would he? Poker Face Putin? Warmongers profit from prolonging a conflict. They want it to last as long as possible. So a conflict takes on a tit for tat response profile, because the conflict is increasingly fake.
If that is the case, the Ukraine War has been unlike other wars. Oh, wait. Didn’t we say it would be unlike any other at the outset? Who said that? President Trump wants the Ukraine War to end, as he should. All of that woven into civilian infrastructure with innocent people literally everywhere, people Russia has no interest in killing.
Then there is the decades long military build up to plow through – reinforced concrete trenches, deep underground military complexes, weapons development and storage facilities.
Not to mention there are about 15 nuclear reactors in the Ukraine.
You can’t just roll up into a hideously dangerous place like that and start carpet b0mbing everything into oblivion and then a year or so later call it a day.

I have read your analysis, and I thank you for it. What you are saying is the present situation in Ukraine can be seen as inevitable given its antecedents. That is defensible.
To me, this is a form of Fatalism. Different outcomes can be better, and examining them can be instructive. Some illustrate absurdity by being absurd. What is more absurd than the war in Ukraine? Calling it a “SMO” is a deception in the very beginning.
Did I suggest carpet bombing? No. But I will say Putin dithered long enough for Zelenskyy to get drones to aim and fire at him. Is that an outrageous absurdity? Not in the least. Telling us where he is getting the drones really would be beneficial.

I suspected that part of the conversation was something akin to, “Go ahead and end this, but don’t touch any NATO countries that will force our hand.”
I doubt that Putin will “touch any NATO country,” no matter how hard those countries try to provoke him. Furthermore, he doesn’t need to. He can simply ratchet up the force slightly. He already knows where everything is, and he has air superiority. He also has patience, determination, discernment, and especially time.

The common thought, it seems, is that the proxy war against Russia will diminish the military capability and threat to the west. The Japanese thought Pearl Harbor would deal a crippling blow to the United States. We all know how that turned out. We best start, even if it’s not immediately obvious, making friends with them now before Ukraine finally submits.
Z’s EU/NATO masters stored ammunition smack-dab in the middle of the city on the assumption that Russia wouldn’t strike them. But, Ukranian attacks continue, and they somehow still have hundreds of long-range drones to launch against Russia every night. Russia must now take the pain much closer to the place where these decisions are being made.
They loudly cry for “Patriot interceptors” because they know this is an American system. But Russia has blown them up many times before: “simply strike from the REAR.” Patriot batteries can fire in only one direction. They want the USA to be fighting their little war for them, so they can sit back and watch.
Russia is simply going to make this more and more costly to the common citizens of Ukraine. Maybe they’ll decide that they need an “actually-elected President” after all. Or, maybe they will finally decide to do to “Z” what customarily happens to tyrants. 💀 (“Mussolini, anyone?”)

Dacha gardening is not and never has been simply a survival strategy. It is a way of life.
During the Great Depression my grandfather owned two deep lot homes side by side in upstate New York. He worked as a street sweeper. He rented the house next door, had a big garden in the back and utilizing both backyards raised chickens. My mother told me that as a child she never felt the devastation of that era. Grandad supplied his neighborhood with fresh vegetables, eggs and chicken meat throughout that time.
On my father’s side was Grandma who lived through the era of horse and buggy to automobile and lived to the age of 105. Her family had is a small home on the outskirts. Her husband worked a tobacco shack up near the railroad. She said as her kids grew older they went off to the city to earn $5 a day while she stayed home to tend the garden and milk the cow.
I have raised my own food for 50 years and have always shared with family and friends. Now, most of my friends are getting on in their years. Some I bring meals to made from what I grow. All of my 4 adult children have gardens, can pickles and preserves and buy meat from local folks who raise a few cows or pigs. They often express gratitude for teaching them to garden. I did not teach them. Living a simple life on the land taught them “the value” of growing their own food. And they are all inventive chefs.
During holidays, we gift each other and friends with foods we have made and preserved. Their friends have become family and that family has become community. They share and help each other with everything. I contend our cultural downfall began when we left the land. The mindset developed became “corporate” and the “control” is history. Even today in the land of the free, it is illegal “to sell” milk, meat, eggs and vegetables to your neighbors without state controlled permits, inspections and regulations. Would love to see Bobby Kennedy and Brooke Rollins remedy that. Live your greatest life!
