Well, you’re right about that part. I just dislike giving turncoats and fakes any attention at all. I do think however, that some deserve to be completely ignored and some deserve to have the light shone on them and reveal their lies and hypocrisy. Call them out, make them state their reasons and proof of what they speak about.

A very substantive meeting with President of France @EmmanuelMacron. We appreciate that France is helping as much as possible to find ways to respond to Russian escalation. During our meeting, Russia launched yet another vile drone strike on Ukrainian energy infrastructure in Lutsk.
There are power outages in the city. Unfortunately, this kind of blatant and vile Russian terror has been taking place almost constantly these days. Russia has demonstratively disregarded the American President’s proposal for an energy ceasefire. And now it is taking advantage of problems with Starlink operations to cause maximum destruction to everything that sustains everyday life.
Emmanuel and I discussed various ways to counter this. In particular, new packages to strengthen our combat aviation will be provided this month. We are also accelerating work on European anti-ballistic defense – FREYJA needs to become operational by the end of the year.
I am grateful to Emmanuel – all the weaponry production licenses France promised Ukraine have already been obtained. It is important to implement this promptly at the team level. Thank you, France!

Some readers here know that I became a Classicist (i.e. Latin and Ancient Greek) along with degrees in German and History (mainly Ancient, Medieval and Modern European, but also Byzantine and American).
In my studies in Roman History, one of the continuing mysteries of the field was why a persistent decline in population growth occurred, a decline deduced from evidence in taxation laws to increase the population of citizens by reducing taxes on larger families. One famous law dates from A.D. 9 during the reign of the very first emperor, Augustus.
The field of Ancient Roman Demography is full of pitfalls because of the lack of hard evidence. Academic arguments as to whether the decline hit all areas of the Empire – or only the cities, centers of disease with high mortality rates and needing constant immigration to retain their size – or whether some certain groups still grew in size, but others declined.
Diseases from Malaria to Typhus, poisons in the water and food supply (mainly Lead) which decreased fertility, primitive birth control, Christianity’s rise with its praise of Celibacy, and other reasons or combinations of reasons have been advanced in the hundred-plus years for the population decline.
What is clear is that by the A.D. 400’s, various areas were so empty that the Germanic barbarians were able to settle in open land, previously abandoned or never occupied.
The city of Rome’s population fell from nearly 1 million at its height c. A.D. 100 to under 100,000 by the 400’s, and was perhaps even smaller.
I mention this because our own era has been seeing a precipitous decline in births for decades: whether Communist or Conservative, a nation cannot continue, if children are not being born in sufficient numbers.
We can easily point at various factors, which the ancient Romans could not do: the rise of Birth Control – and the following is important – along with the rise of ideologies antagonistic to population growth!
e.g.
The false belief that population growth was a “bomb,” which would destroy civilization: a 1960’s book by a certain Paul Ehrlich called in fact The Population Bomb led to the current belief that human population growth was a threat to “The Environment.” (The novel and movie Soylent Green popularized the notion even more.)
The rise of Communist Feminism, which includes hostility against Men and Families.
The rise of “Freedom from Children” and even treating children as demons: the 1970’s saw popular “kulcher” embrace this with books and movies, where children were in fact actual demons (Rosemary’s Baby, The Omen) or close to it (Carrie).
In fact, I recently came across an article (written by someone named Rachel Cusk) about “The Glories of a Childless Life,” which article can be found in the New York Times Magazine.
And, of course, the rise of slaughtering the Unborn and the Newly Born under the Orwellian phrasing of “Women’s Health Care” and its depressing effects morally and physically on society’s attitudes on children cannot be underestimated.
I can never forget the first Communist, anti-American President named Obama saying that he wanted Abortion always to be legal, because he “would never want his daughters to be burdened by a child.”
In short, I support President TRUMP and his quest for a Golden Age, but this quest will be thwarted by a society, which sees children as a burden, a threat, or even demonic, and uses Sexuality as a toy, rather than a gift from God that The Future should continue, and actively allows – and promotes and praises!!! *- the murdering of children in its midst!
In Thomas Mann’s novel The Magic Mountain, the protagonist, a newly graduated engineer with a “mediocre” personality, goes on an Alpine vacation, gets lost in a snow squall on a skiing adventure, and has a “dream,” in which he sees a Golden Age, with beautiful people walking in a Greco-Roman Paradise and enjoying life and sunshine and warmth.
The character is mysteriously drawn to a temple – which the passers-by have indicated subtly – at the heart of this Golden Society: he enters it and sees three witches inside, who are tearing apart a screaming baby and devouring it alive.
The scene is so awful that the protagonist of the novel awakes and tries to explain the dream/nightmare away.
He does not know that World War I is not too far away.
This scene, which I read nearly 60 years ago, has stayed with me, and unfortunately, seems ever more salient and portentous than ever before.
* We have the absolutely monstrous scenes from the New York and – most recently – the Minnesota legislatures, standng up and applauding themselves for passing bills to legalize Infanticide, which they euphemistically and in an Orwellian fashion term “Post-Birth Abortion/Women’s Health Care.”
All of which was aided and abetted by our own welfare focused corrupt government which has destroyed the family and sought to drive women and children into state dependency thus destroying the family structure which encourages bigger families and caring children for aging parents.
An old-fashioned Democrat from the mid-20th century named Daniel Moynihan launched the campaign to “save” Afro-Americans through government action.
As an Assistant to the Secretary of Labor, he published a report called The Negro Family: A Case for National Action.
In 1965, he correctly spotted a rise in single-parent, Afro-American households, with unmarried mothers and completely lacking in a male presence, and that this would be a disaster in the long term, if it continued.
He ascribed the phenomenon to the long-term effects of slavery, Jim-Crow laws in southern states, white racism, etc.
His solution was, of course, government welfare programs.
Some Conservatives back then agreed that he had found a growing problem, but that the solution was not government welfare programs.
As predicted, The War on Poverty, influenced by Moynihan’s report, exacerbated and hastened the decline in Afro-American families, instead of stopping or even reversing the decline!
Personal responsibility, spiritual rebirth, and teaching and practicing Christianity, were all under attack in the post-World War II society.
Unbridled from ideas of Sin, Responsibility, Family Pride, and Shame, “Do your own thing!” “It can’t be wrong if nobody gets hurt!” and “If it feels good, do it!” were all code phrases for an untamed, promiscuous Sexuality, a recipe for disaster long-term.
Not entirely settled on this, but trending towards classifying this error not as Pride or Lust primarily, although both are involved, but as Gluttony.
May be easier to describe using a business, or two. Business A and B are in the same line of work, so competitors, but there’s demand for their services, so both do well.
Both are very happy with their results. Business A distributes all the profit as bonuses for its employees who are giddy. Business B pays some bonuses but invests in more production and hires some new people. The next year A is able to eke out some profit which it pays out and B is taking over the market; by year 3 A is laying people off and B is dominating.
Similarly in society, good times continue because every generation is thinking of others and providing for the future in terms of capability and future people; and as soon as one says “that’s great, let’s relax and just enjoy all the best of life” then it’s crippled. That’s not pride in one’s own achievement; nor lust for what one doesn’t have; but the desire to devour what one has. Not that all three and more aren’t in play in the current set of problems.
Christ came to save our souls; but just as for the OT Hebrew people the various laws, perhaps a bit perplexing, also served them materially in improved health, welfare, and longevity, so too the Christian servant mindset is the genesis of and preserver of what we generally call “Western” prosperity.

I was apologizing for typos
Yesterday as I was driving by the grocery store it hit me that we are paying extra to buy the thing that was the only thing available when we were kids; I bought some “organic” half and half to get as close to that which I used in the 60s as possible.
We had regular food, we adulterated it to make it more productive, now we pay more to go back in time (to the extent possible).
Since you mention the ’60’s. This article came out the other day.
Today’s food is 50% as nutritious as the food from the 1960’s. I’m sure that is a factor is why people overeat.
Don’t beat me up with that one. It’s based on my own experience dealing with an autoimmune disease that inhibited by body’s absorption of nutrients from food or supplements. As soon as the issue was addressed, I took supplements and I could absorb them, my cravings abated.
Combine the influx of processed foods with the lower nutrition value, add pesticides and genetic modification and we see the results.

And yet, we see the truth of the devouring women everywhere. Just this morning–in a story I read about a school shooting in Bend, OR., there was a photo of Tina Kotek and two other women at a press conference standing next to the police officer conducting the conference. I looked at the women’s eyes–they were strikingly eerie–and I thought they were like the three witches in Macbeth. No doubt they were angry that a citizen stepped in to end the madness of the elementary school shooting.

You are correct. I have fun correcting my liberal friends (yes there are a few that aren’t full bore crazy) when they talk about Paxton being impeached by many of his fellow Republicans. I tell them their is a segment of the Republican Party (Rove, Cornyn, Dade Phelan – speaker of the Texas house, Bushes) who opposed Paxton because of his leadership as AG and their go along and get along loser philosophy. Phelan ran a secret process to impeach which was purely a political play to weaken Paxton against Cornyn. They never mention he was overwhelming acquitted of all the charges as the Senate understood this once their was a fair, open process.
As for character, I worry far more about Talarico’s character. A person with a long history of philosophy and political positions (ICE hatred, defunding police, racism (his anti-white and white privilege support), DIE support, open borders – our border is our front porch and there should be a welcome mat, opposition to reliable energy and support for the green new deal, socialism, bashing billionaires when he is in CA and NY raising funds from liberal billionaires, etc.). He is on the 20% of every 80/20 issue. So, he has to modify his positions by lying and trying to convince everyone is an actually a conservative on many issues. One of the ministers in his church is on video saying he is getting bad advice moving to the middle and she is comfortable he will move back left when elected. This type of dishonesty is the worst kind of character flaw someone can have. Far worse than anything Paxton was falsely accused of.

I saw a tid-bit about a recent senate debate (AK I think) where the democrat candidate was almost certainly reading her answer from prepared documents. No way you could do that unless they had the questions ahead of time. The GOP candidate even asked about it (apparently). The normal republican approach is to pussy-out. This guy and his campaign need to get to the bottom of this and not pussy-out. GOP voters are sick and tired of electing cowards. It’s impossible to have prepared answers without having the questions in advance.
Now to be fair, this happens all the time in many debates. The democrats can’t win anything without cheating and they are always working angles to increase their cheating. They also know most GOP candidates are such cowards that they can do this and get away with it. The media helps them.

I have to say, at no time was I ever aware of anyone who referred to themselves as a “lawyer” but wasn’t an actual member of the bar. Reading what she had to say on that matter was news to me.
Yes she actually consulted with Pepperdine University regarding what the appropriate credentials would be for someone who graduated with a JD but did not pass or take the bar. She has apparently done some consulting work in the past as a lawyer. I could not find any information that disputes what she stated. While not a lawyer or attorney, this information was new to me as well.
Our MSM is an international disgrace.
There are a number of people I would have. I understand the part of wanting a “eat your heart out boy” gal standing behind that podium after the 3 terms of affirmative action and circling back, but we do not have time for amateur hour.

The Denver Post has endorsed moderate Republican Michael Allen for Colorado Attorney General over Democrat SOS Jena Griswold who is running against him.
I pray he has a chance and also that 33, 34 and 35 make it through.
I have friends that live in Colorado and they say in some ways it is worse than California.
They’re considering a move to my state to escape some of the lunacy they are living there.
