The story of Jason Arday is one of the strangest and yet embarrassingly sad representations of political correctness, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion running amok. [Recap of Absurd Stories Here]
After one of the most ridiculous and absurd life stories was seemingly accepted by the Cambridge University academic community, they raised Jason Arday to a professorship of sociology and education in 2023. Then slowly it surfaced that the guy was a professional plagiarist and was passing off the academic work of others as his own.
Everything unraveled as those outside the university system started looking at Arday’s scholarship and life claims. The absurdity of it all ended up with massive embarrassment for the university and those within it.
Arday resigned in disgrace; but prior to the discovery of his fictitious life story being sold as real, he signed a book deal which was scheduled to launch this week. I suspect the publisher did some serious hindsight research and discovered the material in the book was entirely made up. Something happened, and today Mr Arday was found dead.

My wife and I have three children.
The oldest (boy) went to college, graduated with a degree in Exercise Science, and then earned his Doctorate in Physical Therapy. He’s a successful physical therapist now.
My middle child (girl) and youngest (boy) did not go to college. They both got jobs and advanced/climbed the ladder and are both hugely successful in their chosen careers.
They studied in “The School of Hard Knocks” at “Work University.” (way better than “Woke University”)
All three are successful for three reasons.
One-we raised them to avoid leftism like the plague and to worship Jesus Christ.
Two-all three avoided the “leftism incubation curriculum” in college. (my oldest son has hilarious stories about that garbage)
Three-God richly blessed each one of them-guiding and directing them all along the way.
We are so blessed that God directed them away from the Woke Indoctrination of the modern university.

FYI the DPT + undergrad degree cost about $200k. Same license I got in 4 years with a bachelors in the 90s.

I actually feel sorry for him. Although he obtained benefits from living a lie (actually, a series of lies), he denied himself a fulfilling life that was worth living. That is sad. While I am glad he was exposed and removed from his position, I would have hoped he would have learned from his mistkes. Instead, it looks like he made the ultimate mistake of ending his life rather than learning from his mistakes and making the necessary changes. With that said, the various institutions that allowed/encouraged/promoted his lies played an indirect role in his ultimate destruction. By promoting him rather than holding him accountable, they led him to go increasingly deep into the trap that his deceptions were leading. When the trap door finally closed, and his deceptions a matter of widespread public record, he likely despaired, (and stupidly) took his own life. IMHO, their institutional cowardice played a role in his death.

Really sad to hear this. Makes me think that instead of smirking about his preposterous life I should have prayed for his salvation. I really don’t understand how people work, and I know this man was way off base, but eternity is a long time and it is hard to think he was ready for it. However this fully demonstrates the leftist that willfully allow young folks like this young man to become tools for them to further nothing other than their own desires for control, leadership positions and in the end financial gravy train. Higher education is as much a “Big Business” as Big Pharma, Big Ag, Big Oil, etc. It is not viewed that way because it trains and indoctrinates those who would call attention to the fact, and they have no capability or incentive to do so.
There is also a difference between education and accreditation. Education teaches one to think. Accreditation teaches you how to conform to a standard. The education system long ago abandoned the former for the latter.
The genius of the modern education system is that has managed to inflate the symbolic value of accreditation to such a degree that many people only process the value of an individual, including themselves, through the number and levels of accreditation that person has achieved. This outlook particularly appeals to leftists, who are predisposed towards supporting institutional systems and authoritative figures.

At an organisation I worked for we hired a new office girl to do filing, answer phones etc. She was doing an Arts/Law degree at a major Oz university. One day I started talking to her about certain books that I thought might be of interest to her in her studies outlining the synopsis of each. After a while she was just sitting there slightly stunned and asked me, “What university did you go to?” She just couldn’t comprehend how I was so well read and had such a depth of understanding when I answered her, “None.” I graduated high school at 14 and thanks to my English teacher there I developed a love of reading.
My mother had a 12th grade Catholic education and I would say she was smarter hands down than any advanced degree I’ve seen come out of any Ivy League (or any college/university) for the past 50 years. By far….

I guess there is a lesson here: if you do wrong, make it right. It’s never too late to just make things right. Imagine the kind of attention he would have received if he had simply chosen to do the right thing. Probably a different outcome entirely. Take responsibility, make a public apology and move on. Weird to think about, but getting fired isn’t such a bad result. Apparently, this kind of behavior is becoming quite common. A refusal to accept the norms and standards goes beyond just dei and queerness/homosexuality….but they often lie in the same bed.
